He Has A Take: Possible Problem With WWE Using Tyson Fury
He has some leverage. Wrestling has a long history of having athletes from other sports make appearances, often to great success. It makes sense for a wrestling company to want to bring in other athletes to see what happens when they step inside a wrestling ring. WWE has done this as well, but now one major sports name has an interesting way of looking at how he would be presented in the company. IN CASE YOU MISSED IT: Next Time? WWE Champion Pulled From Live Event Last month, a story broke about WWE wanting boxing’s Heavyweight Champion of the World Tyson Fury to appear at the Royal Rumble and then WrestleMania 39, though Fury is dealing with visa issues. According to the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, one source is saying that Fury is unwilling to put people in WWE over or even look vulnerable during his appearances. There is no word on whether he would be able to be booked in a short Royal Rumble appearance that validates what the money WWE would have to pay him. There is no word ..

Fuego Del Sol Buys His Own Wrestling Ring to Train for Bigger AEW Matches
As people outside of the big promotions like AEW, we often forget that we see these performers for maybe 30 mins of television time per week, which could be much less for underutilized talents. If you compare this to the standard 40 hour work week, we’re seeing so little of what actually goes into becoming a star in the wrestling business. For instance, Fuego Del Sol has been training extensively despite limited appearances on AEW programming over the course of 2022. He took to Twitter on Thursday to share his progress and goals into improving his craft as well as being prepared for any future opportunities. I bought a wrestling ring to take my in ring training to another level. Developed a new gym discipline. Working out 6 days a week and already see a difference in my body! Wrestling on the indies more so I stay ring ready and prepared for bigger AEW matches. Confidence way up! https://t.co/3rt9qzaiMn — Fuego Del Sol (@FuegoDelSol) November 17, 2022 During an exchange on Twit..

Warner Brothers Discovery Executive On More AEW Programming (Minus A Ring)
They want more. AEW has come a long way in its three years of existence. A lot of the company’s success can be attributed to its programming being broadcast on Warner Brothers Discovery networks. The shows are available in prime time on national networks and the potential audience is high as a result. Now we might be in for an expansion of the company’s programming, but in a different way. Warner Brothers Discovery Group Chair and Chief Content Officer Kathleen Finch was recently interviewed by the Hollywood Reporter and spoke about the company’s relationship with AEW. Finch said that AEW pulls in huge numbers and as a result, Warner Brothers Discovery is trying to find new programming featuring AEW stars without it being in a wrestling ring. There is no word on what kind of programming this could be. Opinion: I don’t know what this is going to mean but there is something a bit ominous about the way that was worded. It almost came off like saying Warner Brothers Discovery likes the A..

Check Him Out: Celebrity Teases WWE Match By Training In A Ring
It’s a way to get people watching. Wrestling has a long history of working with celebrities, including bringing them into the ring. This opens up a variety of new doors for both stories as well as fans, as you do not know what you are going to get to see or how a celebrity will do in the ring. That seems to be the case again at an upcoming show and there is potential for some success. Logan Paul has posted some photos to his Twitter showing him training in a wrestling ring, with WWE producer Shane Helms being visible in the ring as well. The photos appear to be from the WWE Performance Center, suggesting that Paul may be working with WWE. Paul has appeared for WWE before, including a match at WrestleMania 38 where he teamed with the Miz, who turned on him after the match. There is no word on a match between Miz and Paul at the moment. ? @wwe pic.twitter.com/wOVqSneTPr — Logan Paul (@LoganPaul) June 26, 2022 Opinion: This is something you probably saw coming as there was little reas..

WRESTLING RUMORS: WWE Almost Intentionally Broke The Ring This Week
That could have been big. There are certain things that almost have to be present to make a wrestling show work. This might seem a bit obvious, but one of the most important is a wrestling ring. The wrestlers get in the ring to have their match, and it is fairly easy to tell what you are watching if you see a ring present. That was almost taken in a different direction this week. One of the matches advertised for this week’s Monday Night Raw was a cage match between Omos and Bobby Lashley. This was the third match between the two of them after they split the first two. According to the WrestleVotes Twitter account, an idea was floated to have the match end by destroying the ring. This did not wind up happening, as Omos threw Lashley through the cage wall, allowing Lashley to escape and win. The ring has been destroyed before, usually via a superplex, but never in a cage match. Over the course of the past week, there was an idea for a collapsing ring angle during the cage match tonigh..

Update On Brandi Rhodes’ Future In Wrestling
Her too? It can be very interesting to see a wrestler pop up in another company. They might be someone you haven’t seen in a long time or someone brand new, but either way, you know you are in for something different. This could be even more interesting if it is someone who has changed a lot while they are gone, and that might be the case again in the near future. Cody Rhodes made his return to WWE at WrestleMania 38, defeating Seth Rollins at the show and then opening the following night’s Monday Night Raw. According to Fightful Select, there have been discussions on bringing Cody’s wife Brandi Rhodes in to WWE. It is not clear how far these discussions have gone or whether Rhodes will have an in-ring role or not. Rhodes previously worked for WWE as a non-wrestling ring announcer named Eden Stiles. Opinion: I wouldn’t be surprised to see Brandi pop up somewhere in the future, though I don’t know if she is needed. If WWE wants Cody to be a top star, he really doesn’t need a valet or ..

BREAKING: WWE Vacates Titles, New Champions Crowned Next Week
We need someone new. Champions are some of the most important people in all of wrestling. Holding a title means something in the industry as it shows fans who the most important wrestlers are, as those shiny belts are easy to spot. Someone losing a title means a lot, and now that has taken place again, though this time it wasn’t inside of a wrestling ring. Last weekend, MSK (Nash Carter and Wes Lee) won the NXT Tag Team Titles for the second time, defeating the Creed Brothers and reigning champions Imperium. Earlier this week, Carter was released from the company following domestic violence allegations and the release of a photo of him impersonating Hitler. WWE has announced that the titles have officially been vacated, with new champions being crowned next week on NXT. No teams have been announced for the title match and MSK is not listed in the article. There is no word on Lee’s future in NXT. Opinion: You had to know this was coming and WWE didn’t have much of a choice. Either the..

Former WWE Star Returning To The Ring After Two+ Year Absence
Welcome back. Wrestlers are a little different than most mainstream athletes as retirement is not quite the same thing. While most athletes retire once and then stay retired, wrestlers will often come back for a one off match rather than having to take part in a full season. That means you can see some surprising returns, and that might be the case again later this year. During a virtual signing with Captain’s Corner, former WWE star and NXT Champion Bo Dallas announced that he will be back in a wrestling ring within the next few months. Dallas gave no further details on the promotion or opponent he will be facing. Dallas’ most recent match took place on November 13, 2019 at a WWE live event and he was released from the company in April 2021. Since leaving WWE, Dallas has been working in other ventures but now says that his schedule has cleared enough for him to return to his passion. Opinion: Dallas is someone I haven’t thought of in a good while but it would be nice to see him get ..

Rey Mysterio Is Getting His Own Animated Series (And It Sounds Good)
That’s quite the honor. To say that a wrestling show is an ensemble piece is an understatement. There is so much going on during any given show that it is almost impossible to keep track of everyone at once. Sometimes it would be nice to have some wrestlers get more focus, and now that is going to be the case in a big way. It just won’t be in a wrestling ring. According to Wrestlinginc.com, Rey Mysterio has announced that he will be starring in a new animated series for Cartoon Network Latin America, beginning in 2022. The series will be called Rey Mysterio vs. La Obscuridad and will star Mysterio and a wrestling fan named Oscar as they fight a villain named Uroboros. Ronda Rousey Working With WWE Names On Wrestling Project
A hope shot? It is very rare that you see a wrestler become one of the biggest stars in a promotion in the blink of an eye, but that was the case when Ronda Rousey debuted back in 2018. Rousey jumped from the UFC to WWE and was headlining WrestleMania about fifteen months later. She has since left the promotion, though she has seemed open to a return since. Now we might be seeing her doing something at least related to WWE. According to PWInsider.com, Rousey has been filming content for the ESPN+ series Peyton’s Places with WWE’s Paul Heyman and D-Von Dudley. The three filmed content in the 2300 Arena, formerly known as the ECW Arena in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania as part of a discussion of professional wrestling in the city. The filming included a wrestling ring and a number of weapons. There is no word on when the episode will air. The three of them have made their impact in wrestling. Interesting Note On Ronda Rousey Training In Wrestling Again
Welcome back/nice to meet you? Back in 2018, Ronda Rousey took the wrestling world by storm and there was no stopping her until she headlined WrestleMania 35 in the biggest women’s wrestling match of all time. It is rare to see someone become anything like her but she has not been around in over a year and a half. That might be changing though, with a bit of a twist. Relationships are one of the most complicated aspects to a career in wrestling. A wrestler in a relationship is not going to be able to see their significant other very often and that can cause some serious strains. However, one of the exceptions is for couples who both happen to be in the wrestling business. While not yet confirmed, that might play into the chances of Rousey returning to WWE. According to Fightful Select, both Rousey and her husband Travis Browne have been training in a wrestling ring in recent weeks. Browne has never wrestled before but has been working on his selling and timing. He is also still part ..

How Are WWE And AEW Testing For COVID-19?
The more you know. The COVID-19 pandemic has been at the forefront of world culture for the past 6 months, and almost every industry has been affected by its devastation. However, professional wrestling has found a way to remain on the air, using testing to providing a safe working environment for all of their performers, staff, and production team. But how have they done it? According to a report from Wrestling Inc., both WWE and AEW are doing weekly COVID-19 tests to all performers, to ensure that it is safe for them to be in a wrestling ring each night. Furthermore, the fact that all performers have been tested has led to the relaxed nature of mask-wearing by the talent for both companies. Here is how each company is handling its testing procedures: WWE: All talents are instructed to show up to a parking garage the day before tapings. Talents stay in their cars and are given a nasal swab test. The talent then leave and are sent a text, or other message, later that night letting..

LOOK: Ronda Rousey Back In The Wrestling Ring
Blast from the past. There are some people who show up in wrestling and take the place by storm. You don’t see it very often but you know it when you see it. That’s what you saw back in 2018 when Ronda Rousey showed up and tore the house down at WrestleMania 34. A year later she was headlining the event in one of the most surprising milestones in wrestling history. Then a day later she was gone, but maybe not forever. Rousey has not appeared in WWE since WrestleMania 35 but she has teased a return a few times since. I don’t think it is any secret that WWE would love to have her back full time, part time or just for a one off appearance, but it is not going to be the case if Rousey does not want to come back. Rousey has not done much since she left WWE, though she did just get back in the ring. Earlier this week, Roddy Piper’s daughter Teal Piper posted some photos to Instagram showing that she is training to return to the ring after surgery to repair a torn ACL. Rousey appears in the..

WATCH: Goldberg vs. Brock Lesnar From Survivor Series 2016
I guarantee you’ll have time to do this. WWE has posted a new video to its YouTube page, in which they show the full match between Brock Lesnar and Goldberg from “Survivor Series” 2016. In his first match in a wrestling ring in 12 years, “The Man” defeated “The Beast” in record time. You can watch the match in its entirety below: From WWE.com: In took only 1-minute, 24-seconds for Goldberg to dominate his match against Brock Lesnar, defeating The Beast Incarnate with two Spears and a Jackhammer and positively stunning the WWE Universe. After a 12-year hiatus from competition, Goldberg proved that he hasn’t lost a single step. With his wife and young son watching him compete live for the first time ever, the proud husband and father avenged his family after weeks of insults from Lesnar and his advocate, Paul Heyman. The quick carnage began shortly after the opening bell rang when Lesnar backed Goldberg into the corner, only to be forcefully shoved back and then leveled with a Spea..

Video: Top Ten Trapped Superstars Getting Smashed
Somebody get me out of here! Every now and then, the Superstars and the wrestling ring just aren’t enough to settle a score. Sometimes you need something a little more to put someone down and if that’s the case, you might need a few more pieces to work with in a match. That might involve locking someone down in one place, and if that’s the case, someone might take it a bit further. Roll the countdown! I think they broke him. [This post contains video, click to play] WWE has released a new Top Ten video looking at Trapped Superstars Getting Smashed. The idea here is exactly what it sounds like: wrestlers trapped in one way or another being crushed or attacked by something else. The list spans a very long stretch of time, with some instances from the 1990s and some going all the way to modern times with one entry from earlier this year. Opinion: This is the kind of thing that can mean a lot more for advancing an angle as there’s only so much you can do in a regular match. Sometimes ..

The Goldmine: NJPW Dominion 2018 Dominates Wrestling
Just as a classic video game like Super Mario World, Street Fighter II or Zelda (which Kenny Omega “The Omega Man” enjoys playing a lot), NJPW Dominion 2018 delivered every bit the excitement, the entertainment and the pageantry. It is now, I believe, officially safe to say that NJPW (New Japan Pro Wrestling) has finally stretched its creative voice and is now being heard echoing around the world.
