It’s On: Hell In A Cell Match Set For WrestleMania 39

That’s a big one. We are less than three weeks away from WrestleMania 39 and the show is already starting to come together. There are several matches already set for the show but with two nights to fill, a lot more will need to be done. This can include matches that are not held under your typical rules, and now another one has been added to the card with some of the biggest stipulations WWE has to offer. IN CASE YOU MISSED IT: Uh Oh? Bray Wyatt Misses Weekend MSG WWE Live Event, Not Around As Much Lately For most of the last year, Edge has been involved in a feud with the Judgment Day, often with only his wife Beth Phoenix helping him. Last month, Finn Balor challenged Edge to a match at WrestleMania and this week, Edge accepted. After saying yes, Edge said that he wanted the match to be inside Hell In A Cell, with Balor accepting. This will be the third Hell In A Cell match in WrestleMania history and the first since WrestleMania 32 in 2016. They have something to live up to. Chec..

WWE Breaks All-Time Gate Record For WrestleMania 39

People are excited. WWE issued a press release today, stating that they have broken the company’s all-time gate record for any WrestleMania, despite having yet to announce a single match. The previous record announced was $17.3 million in 2016 at WrestleMania 32 at AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas. From the press release: The record gate comes on the heels of unprecedented ticket sales demand for WWE in 2022, in which it produced the highest-grossing gates of all-time for Royal Rumble, Survivor Series and Extreme Rules. Clash at the Castle in Cardiff, Wales, which marked WWE’s first major stadium show in the U.K. in 30 years, was the highest-grossing U.K. event in company history. Additionally, WWE set in-market gate records for SmackDown and Raw events in more than 20 markets for the year, including the December 30 SmackDown, which took place in Tampa, Fla. and heralded the return of WWE Superstar John Cena. Limited single and two-day combo tickets for WrestleMania Goes Hollywood ..

Homecoming: WWE Legend Confirms Invitation To Monday Night Raw 30th Anniversary Special

Welcome home. There have been all kinds of stars throughout WWE’s history, several of which are still remembered to this day. Several of those memories took place on Monday Night Raw, which will be celebrating its thirty year anniversary next month. WWE will be bringing in various legends for the show, and now we know at least one name who has been invited to appear. Something Happened At WrestleMania That Has Never Happened Before

There is a first time for everything. There are all kinds of wrestling moves in a match but only a handful of them are among the most well known. Many of these best known moves are finishing moves that wrestlers have turned into their signature offense. Those moves often signal the end of the match, but that is not always the case. It wasn’t the case this weekend, and it was kind of an historic moment. During Night One of WrestleMania 38, Drew McIntyre defeated Happy Corbin. At one point in the match, Corbin hit McIntyre with his End of Days finisher but McIntyre kicked out. This is the first time that anyone had ever kicked out of the move, making it one of the longest protected finishers in WWE history. Corbin debuted on the main roster on the night after WrestleMania 32, one day shy of six years ago, during which no one had kicked out of the move. Opinion: This is the kind of thing that kind of sneaks up on you and that can be rather interesting. Sometimes you don’t realize just h..

Update On WWE’s Current Plans For The Rock At WrestleMania 39

You might want to get him. There are very few stars in the history of professional wrestling as the Rock. Despite not being around for very long compared to other top names, the Rock was regularly on top of WWE for a few years before moving on to Hollywood and conquering it as well. Even as a top movie star, the Rock continues to pop in to WWE from time to time though, and that might be the case again. According to Wrestling Observer Radio, the current plan is still to have the Rock face Roman Reigns in a match at WrestleMania 39 next year in Los Angeles. The theory at the moment is that the Rock wants to have the match but his schedule could get in the way. Age is a factor as well, as Rock will be turning fifty years old later this year. Rock has not wrestled a match since 2016, when he defeated Erick Rowan in six seconds at WrestleMania 32. Opinion: This is firmly in the “I’ll believe it when I see it” category, but if WWE can pull this off, and have Reigns face the Rock after a tw..

WrestleMania Is Going To Make A Lot Of Money (And Just Not For WWE)

That’s why they fight over it. WrestleMania 38 is just a few days away and most of the build has been completed. If all goes according to plan, WWE has put together a card that is going to bring in the maximum amount of fans to the event. WWE is certainly ready to take over the Dallas area for the show, and it turns out that is going to be a very lucrative deal for the city itself. According to the Dallas Morning News, WrestleMania 38 will bring in $200 million to the Dallas area economy. This comes through expenses such as food, lodging, transportation, retail and recreational activities. WWE will be in the Dallas area for SmackDown on Friday, NXT Stand & Deliver on Saturday and Monday Night Raw on Monday, plus in Arlington on Saturday and Sunday for WrestleMania. This is the second time that that Dallas area has hosted WrestleMania, following WrestleMania 32 in 2016. Opinion: And that’s why cities bid over the rights to host WrestleMania. It is incredible to see how much money come..

Wrestling Star Appears On Game Show And Wins Big

I’ll take that bet. Wrestling is quite the good choice for television programming as wrestlers often make for great on-screen characters. They are often over the top and larger than life, or at least larger than most people around them. That allows for some entertaining moments, especially if you can get them out of the ring every now and then. That was the case again this week. Former WWE star Erick Rowan appeared on the game show You Bet Your Life this week. During the show, Rowan was mentioned as being a professional wrestler, including his loss to the Rock in six seconds at WrestleMania 32. Rowan and his partner won $5,500, the most a team can win on the show, by answering trivia questions about things associated with Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. Rowan is still active, having wrestled on the independent circuit earlier this month. Drop the answer you think is right in the comment section, then tune in tonight to see if you and this unlikely pair of contestants, get the right answer!..

WWE Makes Major WrestleMania 38 Announcement

Double shot. There are all kinds of wrestling events throughout the year but the biggest of them all is WrestleMania. Since 1985, WWE has presented its annual biggest event of the year, often from some of the largest venues in the country. The company knows how to make things feel big and now they are going to be doing it again, though this time things are going to be extra large. WWE has announced that WrestleMania 38 will be held over two nights on April 2 and April 3 at AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas. This will mark the third straight year that WrestleMania will be held over two nights and the second time that the event will be held at AT&T Stadium, following WrestleMania 32 in 2016. Tickets will go on sale on Friday, November 12. They know the area well. Shaquille O’Neal Announces Return To Wrestling

One more time? Celebrities are a natural fit in wrestling as it can be interesting to see what happens when a famous person come into a different world. This is something that has been done for decades in wrestling and there is nothing to suggest that it will be stopping anytime soon. It took place earlier this year and it might be the case again before the year is done. During the Thursday night edition of Inside The NBA on TNT, Shaquille O’Neal was asked when he would be wrestling again. O’Neal said that it would be “Soon. This summer.” O’Neal did not give any more details than that, including where he would be wrestling. This comes after O’Neal wrestled a tag team match on the March 3 edition of AEW Dynamite. O’Neal’s only other match took place at WrestleMania 32, when he took part in the Andre The Giant Memorial Battle Royal. O’Neal has done well in his time in the ring. Check out what he has done: [This post contains video, click to play] [This post contains video, click to ..

RUMOR: Vince McMahon Changed Mind On WWE Star

Plans can change. There are a lot of wrestlers in WWE and only some of them can reach a high level of success. At the end of the day, there are only so many places for high level wrestlers in WWE. Vince McMahon has a big say in what happens to all of his wrestlers, which can be either good or bad. This time around though it’s good, and that was on display this week. Debuting on Monday Night Raw back in April 2016, Apollo Crews is a case of someone who has all of the natural skills in the world but just wasn’t making it up to the next level. Maybe it was due to issues with charisma or not being able to speak well enough, but it wasn’t clicking for Crews. That was the case until Monday when he became United States Champion, and McMahon had something to do with the change. According to Wrestling Observer Radio, McMahon has given Crews another chance after giving up on him at some point during his main roster run. Crews was called up the night after WrestleMania 32 and while he was given..

WWE In Talks To Bring In Major Names For WrestleMania 35 (Yes This Could Happen)

Ok that’s a big deal. WrestleMania 35 is the biggest show of the year and WWE already has a lot of big stuff planned. They have a ton of matches to get through and it’s not even clear if all the champions are going to be wrestling. Since it’s WWE though, they have a lot of other stuff planned as well. This includes the traditional legends moments and WWE might have something major planned. According to PWInsider.com by way of 411mania.com, WWE is bringing in Hulk Hogan for some undetermined WrestleMania role. This would be Hogan’s first WrestleMania appearance since WrestleMania 31. In addition to this, WWE is considering bringing in Steve Austin, who hasn’t appeared on the show since WrestleMania 32. Hogan’s most recent appearance was at Crown Jewel in November, while Austin last appeared at Raw 25 in January 2018. They’ve done something like this before, albeit with a bonus. Check out this behind the scenes clip before one of the coolest moments ever: [This post contains video, cl..

Rumor: WWE Wants The Rock Back And Has A Specific Plan In Mind For Him

Rock on a roll? It’s safe to say that the Rock is one of the biggest stars in all of entertainment with wrestling just being a small part of the deal. However, wrestling was where the whole thing started. There are some long periods where Rock isn’t around, but every now and then he’ll pop up again. The idea of him wrestling seems like a lost cause, but that’s never stopped WWE before. According to Joe Peisich on the Barn Burner Fired Up podcast, WWE is trying to have The Rock appear on three major shows in the upcoming months. The plan would be for Rock to appear at the 1000th episode of SmackDown Live on October 16, the Royal Rumble and then WrestleMania 35 in April. Rock last wrestled for the company at WrestleMania 32 in a six second win over Erick Rowan. There is no word on Rock’s level of interest or availability in a WWE return. Remember this one? [This post contains video, click to play] Opinion: Well, it would be a huge deal and there have been rumors over the last few mo..

The Rock Claims He'll Be In China On Friday For Press Tour, Says "You Will Not See Me There"

The Rock will be on the other side of the world heading into WrestleMania weekend. Some fans have been hoping to see The Rock at WrestleMania 34, but according to his interview with Jimmy Kimmel he will be in China and England during WrestleMania 34 weekend. He said he has been nervous about the trip because his girlfriend is in the last stages of pregnancy. "Truth is we're expecting in the next two weeks, so I am on code red high alert...Now, this Friday I have to go to Shanghai (China). I've got to go," said The Rock. "As of now the doctor says it looks like we're going to be ok. The baby will be born when it's due which is April 25th...I have to go to Shanghai and then I have to go to London for Rampage," he continued. The Rock's last appearance on WWE television was at WrestleMania 32 but he did appear before a broadcast of Raw last year when he attempted to call CM Punk while in the ring. Elias has said he wants to do a sing-off with The Rock at Wre..

Steve Austin Believes Samoa Joe vs. Brock Lesnar Should Headline WrestleMania

<p>During a recent installment of the Stone Cold Podcast, Steve Austin talked about <strong><a href="http://www.ringsidenews.com/wrestler/samoa-joe" title="Samoa Joe">Samoa Joe</a></strong> and mentioned that he would put him in the main event of WrestleMania against <strong><a href="http://www.ringsidenews.com/wrestler/brock-lesnar" title="Brock Lesnar">Brock Lesnar</a></strong> if he had influence on the WWE booking committee.</p><p><em>“If I was booking WWE or if I had influence on the booking of WWE, or whatever, my Wrestlemania main event would be Joe and Brock and I would build it and by the time we got there, people would be going crazy to see it.”</em></p><p>Austin also talked about Nakamura being brought up to the main roster and criticized WWE for booking him like he’s just another Joe Blow.</p><p><em>“You bring him over and he’s going 30-minute broadways with half the damn roster. Debuted down there in WrestleMania 32, NXT, with <strong><a href="http://www.ringsidenews.com/wrestler/sami-zayn" title="Sami Zayn">Sami Zayn</a></strong>, hell of a match. Hell of a match! A lot of credit to Sami Zayn and Shinsuke, but here’s ‘The King Of Strong Style’ and all-of-a-sudden, he comes in and he’s working Dolph [Ziggler] and it took him a long time to finish off Dolph for ‘The King Of Strong Style’. Do you understand where I’m going with this gimmick? That’s booking though. What is the plan? You’ve got this guy who’s one of those talents that just don’t come around every single day. He’s special. He comes in and you treat him like he’s another Joe Blow.”</em></p><p>You can listen to the complete podcast <a href="https://www.podcastone.com/Steve-Austin-Show" rel="nofollow" target="_blank">here</a>.</p>

WWE Money in the Bank Results – June 18, 2017

<p>Welcome to the SmackDown-branded, Money in the Bank 2017 results!</p><p>Tonight’s PPV is an historic one because it will host the first-ever women’s Money in the Bank ladder match! The monumental match-up features Charlotte Flair, Becky Lynch, <strong><a href="http://www.ringsidenews.com/wrestler/tamina-snuka" title="Tamina Snuka">Tamina Snuka</a></strong>, Carmella, and <strong><a href="http://www.ringsidenews.com/wrestler/natalya" title="Natalya">Natalya</a></strong>, all vying to climb the ladder and grab the contract hanging above the ring, becoming the first-ever winner in the process. Whoever wins the briefcase will get an instant title shot against the Champion.</p><p>Currently the Women’s Champion is Naomi but tonight she faces a mysterious challenger in the form of Lana. A lot of controversy has surrounded Lana’s instant push to the stars and seemingly unearned title shot – considering she has only wrestled one televised match and that was at WrestleMania 32. Lana appeased some concerns on SmackDown Live this week when she hit an impressive sit-out powerbomb, and it’s worth mentioning that the ravishing Russian has been wrestling on live events for over a year. So, do you think Naomi can retain against the unproven but unpredictable challenger? And who will win the Money in the Bank to challenge the Champion? Let us know in the comments!</p><p>Of course, there’s a second ladder match on tonight’s show, featuring six men who are willing to go through hell for a contract. AJ Styles, Kevin Owens, Dolph Ziggler, Shinsuke Nakamura, Baron Corbin and <strong><a href="http://www.ringsidenews.com/wrestler/sami-zayn" title="Sami Zayn">Sami Zayn</a></strong>, will battle it out tonight in one of the hardest-hitting matches in all of wrestling. Any one of these men could realistically walk out with the briefcase but Nakamura was the one left holding in on SmackDown Live this past week. Baron Corbin seems the most obvious winner but it would be great to see AJ Styles or Sami Zayn grab the briefcase and go on to cash it in for a blockbuster match, rather than when a Champion is down and hurt. John Cena did this against CM Punk in 2012, on the Raw 1000 main event, and he failed but it made for a more monumental cash-in than the typical opportunistic approach. Just some food for thought, let us know who you’d like to see walk out with the briefcase!</p><p>Hometown boy Randy Orton has a huge match tonight as he challenges the WWE Champion, Jinder Mahal! Orton and the modern-day Maharaja have been going back and forth for months now, with Jinder usually getting the upper-hand due to the numbers game. The Singh Brothers could also play a huge role in tonight’s title match but Orton will look to nullify their presence, perhaps by taking them out before or during the match, allowing him to take-on the lesser-talented Jinder one-on-one!</p><p>Elsewhere on tonight’s show, The Uso’s defend their Tag Team Championship’s against The New Day, and The Hype Bro’s face The Colon’s on the pre-show. It’s a fairly small card tonight, although that means the ladder matches will probably get plenty of time to breathe. I wouldn’t be surprised to see an episode of The Fashion Files also. Let us know all your thoughts in the comments, and be sure to check out the Ringside News app and enjoy the show!</p>
