WATCH: Sami Zayn Turns On Roman Reigns At Royal Rumble

And so, it ends. There are all kinds of ways to present an angle in wrestling and one of the best is by building up to a moment until the fans are ready to cheer for it. This can take time, but the effort is worth it in the end. WWE presents angles like this from time to time and they did it again this weekend, with the reaction from the crowd being quite the sight to behold. IN CASE YOU MISSED IT: The New King: Gunther Sets Impressive All Time Record In Royal Rumble Match The main event of this weekend’s Royal Rumble saw Roman Reigns retain his Undisputed WWE Universal Championship over Kevin Owens. Following the match, the Bloodline attacked Owens, with Reigns telling Sami Zayn to attack Owens. Instead, Zayn turned on Reigns by hitting him with a chair. The rest of the Bloodline attacked Zayn, save for Jey Uso, who walked away from the beating to end the show. It was a crazy path. Check out how we got here, plus what happened Saturday night: [This post contains video, click to pl..

Roman Reigns Addresses Rumors Of Facing The Rock At WrestleMania

Believe that. Undisputed WWE Universal Champion Roman Reigns was recently a guest on The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon, where he discussed a number of topics. The biggest was the rumors circulating that he would be facing The Rock at WrestleMania. Below is what Reigns had to say: “That’s been the rumors — there’s been a huge buzz on that for a long time now. I mean for years now. But it’s really picked up in the last couple of years. “I believe he just came out with a statement saying that he’s not gonna be ready in time, which — that’s the kind of face everyone’s making, like, ‘Hold on, he trains every single day… He’s huge!’ “To his defense, it’s one thing to train with weights, and the bodybuilding to look the part. But to be able to get in the ring and do a main event match — a championship match, an Undisputed WWE Universal championship match — it takes a lot of conditioning. It beats up your body. “So there’s more that goes into it than just training in the weight room… it’..

WATCH: Roman Reigns vs. John Cena From SummerSlam 2021

When legends collide, you know it’s going to be good. WWE has posted a new video to its YouTube channel, showing the full match between Roman Reigns and John Cena for the WWE Universal Championship at SummerSlam 2021. The end of this match also featured the return of Brock Lesnar since Reigns allied himself with Paul Heyman. You can see the match in its entirety below: [This post contains video, click to play] From WWE.com: Cena seemed to have found a spark by lining up for an Attitude Adjustment, but Reigns shrugged him off. The Universal Champion talked trash to Cena and all of Hollywood as the beatdown continued, but Cena never gave up, mounting a comeback after escaping from a sleeper hold. Cena connected with a Five Knuckle Shuffle and an Attitude Adjustment, but Reigns miraculously kicked out. Even Heyman was bewildered, mouthing, “Oh my God.” A second AA through the announce table pushed Reigns to the brink again, but the Universal Champion improbably kicked out, causing a..

REVIEW: Clash Of Champions 2016: One Brand Fits All

Welcome to KB’s Old School (and New School) Reviews. I’ve been reviewing wrestling shows for over ten years now and have reviewed over 5,000 shows. Every Monday, Wednesday and Friday, I’ll be posting a new review here on Wrestlingrumors.net. It could be anything from modern WWE to old school to indies to anything in between. Note that I rate using letters instead of stars and I don’t rate matches under three minutes as really, how good or bad can something that short be? Clash of Champions 2016 Date: September 25, 2016 Location: Bankers Life Fieldhouse, Indianapolis, Indiana Commentators: Michael Cole, Corey Graves, Byron Saxton It’s the first Raw only pay per view and things are starting to get interesting around here. Tonight’s main event is Seth Rollins challenging Kevin Owens for the WWE Universal Championship but the big question is what role HHH will play in the whole thing. Other than that we have Roman Reigns challenging Rusev for the US Title and New Day defending the Raw Ta..

Roman Reigns, WrestleMania and WWE Superstar Safety

The story of Roman Reigns’ rumored removal from the WWE Universal Championship match at WrestleMania 36 is a major headline. In fact, it’s the major headline of the moment for pro wrestling fans. The man known as The Big Dog has enjoyed a phenomenal run in Vince McMahon’s company over the past few years and he appeared to be on his way back to the top thanks to his Mania match with Goldberg. But now that match is apparently not happening and evidently, it’s thanks to the Coronavirus. The pandemic has changed the way people are living, as social distancing has become the new norm. It’s all about trying to prevent the spread of the virus. In Roman’s case, it’s also about peace of mind, as he attempts to maintain his already compromised immune system. Roman’s leukemia is in remission and he’s healthy. But the more contact he has with the WWE roster, the more at risk he becomes. If he contracts the virus, things could potentially get very bad very quickly. But many fans are already sear..

Roman Reigns Explains Why Women Should Main Event WrestleMania 35

Former WWE Universal Champion Roman Reigns was recently interviewed by Sky Sports. This followed the WrestleMania 36 press conference earlier this week. During the interview, Reigns discussed why he believes the women deserve to close WrestleMania 35 this year. Seth Rollins defeated 29 other men in the Royal Rumble men’s match to earn the right to face Brock Lesnar for the WWE Universal Championship at WrestleMania. This has led a number of fans to predict and hope that those two performers close out the show. It seems more possible now, more than ever, that women could close out the show. Becky Lynch faces Charlotte Flair this weekend at Fastlane- and a victory there, as predicted by most fans, would result in a triple threat between those two performers and RAW Women’s Champion Ronda Rousey for the Championship. For more information on that, check out the very short WWE Now clip below: [This post contains video, click to play] In his interview with Sky Sports, Reigns noted that..

Does Braun Strowman Really Have a Chance to Beat Roman Reigns at WWE ‘Hell in a Cell’?

Braun Strowman will challenge Roman Reigns for the WWE Universal Championship at Hell in a Cell on Sunday, September 16. The Monster Among Men is hot off the heels of his recent heel turn against The Big Dog and now the two men will wage war for Monday Night Raw’s top prize. But what kind of shot does Strowman really have? From the moment Braun went heel, many WWE fans immediately said that he simply had no chance against Roman. WWE supposedly wants to give Reigns a lengthly title run. If that is indeed the case, then anyone that faces him in the near future probably has very little chance of taking the belt. That includes Strowman, who has really never looked better in his WWE career. But is he merely just a contender? Why did WWE do all of the work to get him over as main event material only to keep the championship from him? If the point was to prepare him and test him for a top spot, then WWE must consider it as mission accomplished. Braun has more than earned his spot in WWE. Ho..

Here’s When Brock Lesnar is Expected To Wrestle Again

After Brock Lesnar retained the WWE Universal Championship at WrestleMania 34, the WWE Universe didn’t know what to expect because the belief was he’d be leaving WWE after the event. With a new contract and Bobby Lashley’s return, the expectation is the two men will finally collide at Summerslam and that will be the changing of the guard. There are still three long months between now and the biggest party of the summer. It’s been confirmed that Lesnar won’t perform at Money in the Bank. The WWE Universe is wondering when Brock will get back into the ring, but most fans won’t like the answer. Related: Does Bobby Lashley’s Road Lead to Brock Lesnar? According to the Wrestling Observer Live, it’s possible Brock Lesnar won’t wrestle again until Extreme Rules in July or Summerslam. Given the fact that he’s not even wrestling at Money in the Bank, it’s fair to assume that Lesnar won’t defend the title until August. The expectation is Brock will be dropping the championship to Lashley, Ro..

Goldberg Is Content With Never Wrestling Again

Goldberg says he has to be smart about returning to WWE. Before entering the WWE Hall of Fame, Goldberg came back to WWE in 2016 to feud with Brock Lesnar. He appeared in the Royal Rumble and had three singles matches which lasted less than five minutes each including winning the WWE Universal Championship in a match against Kevin Owens. In an interview with New York Post, Goldberg said he does not need another return match in WWE. “If I never stepped in the ring again, I’m content, dude. I’m completely at peace. I really am. Would I like to do it again? Who knows. It would have to be the right fit. I’d love to do it again for my son. Let’s be honest. Everybody knows that. But at the end of the day, you have to be smart about it," said Goldberg. If the match was not the perfect situation, Goldberg said it may devalue what he has accomplished in the WWE including being inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame this year. The full interview with Goldberg can be found at the New York Pos..

Brock Lesnar Returning To RAW Next Week

"The Beast" is returning. On April 8th in the main event of WrestleMania 34, Brock Lesnar put his WWE Universal Championship on the line against a determined Roman Reigns. In typical Brock Lesnar fashion he dismantled "The Big Dog" and left him busted open from a number of brutal forearms. Although it took more than four "F-5's" to put Reigns away Lesnar ultimately walked out of the Mercedes-Benz Superdome still the WWE Universal Champion. The following day it was announced that Reigns and Lesnar will have a rematch for the WWE Universal Championship inside of a Steel Cage at the 'Greatest Royal Rumble' event on April 27th at the King Abdullah International Stadium in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia. Brock Lesnar Defeats Roman Reigns At WrestleMania 34

Brock Lesnar walks out of New Orleans with his WWE Universal Championship. In Roman Reigns' fourth WrestleMania main event in a row he was unsuccessful in defeating Brock Lesnar and taking the WWE Universal Championship. Back at WrestleMania 31, Reigns had his singles match with Lesnar interrupted by Seth Rollins and a Money in the Bank briefcase. WrestleMania 34 was Reigns' first chance at a singles match with Lesnar in three years and he was pinned after bleeding all over the ring and receiving five F-5s. #TheBeast @BrockLesnar has done it AGAIN. #WrestleMania pic.twitter.com/7MD8X4DnAm — WWE WrestleMania (@WrestleMania) April 9, 2018 The following is an excerpt from the Fightful Wrestling live coverage provided by David Tees. Lesnar then puts Reigns through an announce table using an F-5, Lesnar gets Reigns back in the ring and he follows him in there. Roman Reigns Talking His WrestleMania 33 Match With The Undertaker: "Maybe It Could Have Been Better On My Behalf"

"The Big Dog" feels that his match with The Undertaker did not quite live up to its expectations. The main-event of WrestleMania 33 saw Roman Reigns take on The Undertaker. The match has been negatively critiqued by many and is not regarded as being a memorable outside of the closing moments where it appeared that "The Deadman" was giving his farewell to the wrestling world. At WrestleMania 34, Roman Reigns will be challenging Brock Lesnar for the WWE Universal Championship but before Roman's big match on April 8th, he stopped past CBS Sports' 'In This Corner' podcast to chat it up about the match with The Undertaker from last year's sports-entertainment spectacle. "I don't think it ever could really," Reigns stated. "It's a hard spot for The Undertaker to have such a storied career, to have such a huge list of ridiculously good matches and to have that respect, and to have that mystique, and to have that reputation as the godfather of the professio..

The Current ‘WrestleMania 35’ Main Event May Have Been Revealed

We haven’t even got to witness ‘WrestleMania 34‘ yet, but it is now being heavily reported by websites such as WrestlingInc and The Inquisitr that we may know the main event for ‘WrestleMania 35.’ It appears the main event for ‘WrestleMania 34’ is set on Brock Lesnar defending his WWE Universal Championship against Elimination Chamber victor Roman Reigns, in a match billed as three years in the making. Slice Wrestling on Twitter announced that the plan for ‘WrestleMania 35’ is to have the women main event for the first time ever. This match would be Ronda Rousey vs. Charlotte Flair vs. Asuka. It is unknown who would be the Champion going into the match. [This post contains video, click to play] If this does indeed turn out to be the truth, it is interesting to note that we had a ‘WrestleMania 35’ match teased before we had confirmation of the ‘WrestleMania 34’ main event. It is also interesting to note that Asuka and Rousey are both members of the ‘Raw’ roster while Flair is a mem..

WWE Great Balls of Fire Results – July 9 2017

Welcome to the first-ever Great Balls of Fire pay-per-view!

Tonight’s inaugural PPV will host a dream match between Samoa Joe and Brock Lesnar for the WWE Universal Championship! This is a match people thought they would never see but here we are, and the build has been better than a lot of recent Lesnar matches. If WWE ever saw this as a throwaway match to keep Brock busy, that all changed when Samoa Joe grabbed the microphone. Over the past 4-5 weeks, Samoa Joe has turned many heads with his incredible intensity and mic skills, which anyone will recognise if they watched his early TNA and ROH work. Joe is one of the best in the world and he more than deserves this match, and WWE has no doubt recognised his incredible work. It’s hard to know what to expect from the actual match tonight but it has the potential to be an all-time classic.

The other main-event worthy match for tonight is the Ambulance Match between Braun Strowman and Roman Reigns. Braun returned from injury several months early and resumed his tyranny on Raw and Roman Reigns in particular. The two went right back to beating the crap out of each other and tonight we have a number one contender’s match between them in which the stipulation is, ironically, to send your opponent to the hospital. This is kind of a dumb match because it’s supposedly barbaric but you’re sending your opponent to get medical attention; it’s like a Last Man Standing match but with more care and concern for the other guys well-being. Anyway, I expect this to be a fun spot-fest that Braun should win.

Also on tonight’s card, The Hardy Boyz challenge Sheamus & Cesaro in a 30-minute Iron Man match, which should serve as the end to this long-running feud. These two teams have never failed to deliver inside the ring but fans never seem overly excited with the feud. Personally I expect this match to be fantastic and really get the crowd going. Elsewhere, Alexa Bliss defends her title against Sasha Banks in a surprising turn. It seemed obvious that Nia Jax was on her way to facing Alexa for the belt – the story-line was writing itself – but for some reason WWE decided to go with Sasha Banks instead. It might not have the story behind it but these two could have a really good match; Bliss isn’t on Banks’ level of in-ring ability but she’s no slouch either. Regardless, I would expect a screwy finish that allows Alexa to retain the feud to continue!

Seth Rollins battles Bray Wyatt, Neville puts his Cruiserweight Championship on the line against Akira Tozawa, Enzo Amore faces his former brother Colin Cassidy, and Dean Ambrose looks to take back the Intercontinental Championship from The Miz and his entourage. That’s a stacked card that has the potential to be the red-brand’s best of the year so far. Don’t forget to check out the Ringside News and Ringside Talk apps, where you can chat about tonight’s PPV on a dedicated social platform with all the other marks like me! Enjoy the show!

WWE Changes Plans for SummerSlam Main Event

As previously reported, SummerSlam was expected to be headlined by Braun Strowman vs. Brock Lesnar for the WWE Universal Title this year. Those plans have changed and WWE has decided to go a different direction, according to the Wrestling Observer.

Dave Meltzer reported on Wrestling Observer Radio that Lesnar vs. Strowman is not the plan anymore. Meltzer mentioned that Lesnar will defend his WWE Universal Championship against Roman Reigns or Samoa Joe at SummerSlam instead of Strowman.

If WWE decides to book Reigns against Lesnar at SummerSlam, it’s expected that Roman will carry the championship all the way until WrestleMania 34, where he would then defend it against the “free agent” John Cena. This could be one of the reasons as to why Cena is now working both RAW and SmackDown Live shows.
