Plan A: Here Are The Original Plans WWE Title Plans For WrestleMania 39 (They’re Different)

They had other plans. We are less than five weeks away from WrestleMania 39 and the show’s card has mostly come together. There are already several matches planned for the show, some of which have either been set in stone or all but set for months now. However, there have been some plans that had to be changed, and now we know just how much one title situation was originally planned. IN CASE YOU MISSED IT: Pick A Side: More On WWE Hoping To Sign AEW Wrestlers, AEW Looking To Do The Same? According to Fightful Select, the original World Title plans for WrestleMania 39 called for the Rock vs. Roman Reigns to take place on one night while a WWE Championship match between Seth Rollins and either Cody Rhodes or Drew McIntyre would take place on the second. Once it became clear that the Rock would not be at the show, McIntyre and Rollins were dropped, with Rhodes vs. Reigns being set instead. There is no word on if Rock vs. Reigns would have been for the Universal Title or how Reigns would..

REVIEW: Elimination Chamber 2014: No He Can’t Just Yet

Welcome to KB’s Old School (and New School) Reviews. I’ve been reviewing wrestling shows for over ten years now and have reviewed over 5,000 shows. Every Monday, Wednesday and Friday, I’ll be posting a new review here on Wrestlingrumors.net, starting today. It could be anything from modern WWE to old school to indies to anything in between. Note that I rate using letters instead of stars and I don’t rate matches under three minutes as really, how good or bad can something that short be? Elimination Chamber 2014 Date: February 23, 2014 Location: Target Center, Minneapolis, Minnesota Commentators: John Bradshaw Layfield, Jerry Lawler, Michael Cole Tonight is the final big stop on the Road to Wrestlemania with six men possibly leaving with the WWE Championship. It’s actually a wide open field tonight with at least three people having a realistic shot at walking out with the belt. However there might be an even more interesting match on the card with the Wyatt Family vs. the Shield in a ..

REVIEW: Elimination Chamber 2019: It’s Still Running Wild

Welcome to KB’s Old School (and New School) Reviews. I’ve been reviewing wrestling shows for over ten years now and have reviewed over 5,000 shows. Every Monday, Wednesday and Friday, I’ll be posting a new review here on Wrestlingrumors.net, starting today. It could be anything from modern WWE to old school to indies to anything in between. Note that I rate using letters instead of stars and I don’t rate matches under three minutes as really, how good or bad can something that short be? Elimination Chamber 2019 Date: February 17, 2019 Location: Toyota Center, Houston, Texas Commentators: Michael Cole, Corey Graves, Renee Young, Tom Phillips, Percy Watson It’s the first of two stops on the Road to Wrestlemania and that means we’ll be seeing a big steel structure. In this case it’s for the WWE Championship and the inaugural WWE Women’s Tag Team Titles. The structure alone makes this a little more interesting and hopefully it’s good on top of that. Let’s get to it. Kickoff Show: Cruise..

WRESTLING RUMORS: Very Interesting Report On WrestleMania 39 Main Events

The big change? We are coming up on the Road To WrestleMania 39 and that means it is time to start getting ready for the biggest event of the year. As a result, WWE is going to be putting together the storylines that will culminate at SoFi Stadium in front of tens of thousands of fans over two nights. Now it seems that we have an idea of what might headline both of those events. IN CASE YOU MISSED IT: One More? 51 Year Old Former WWE And Impact Wrestling Star Would Consider Comeback Wrestlingnews.co is reporting that WWE has a current plan for the main event of both nights of WrestleMania. The matches would be as follows: Night One WWE Championship: Seth Rollins vs. Drew McIntyre or Cody Rhodes Night Two Roman Reigns vs. TBD Reigns’ opponent depends on if the Rock is available for the show. If the Rock is available, he will face Reigns on Night Two. If not, Rhodes will challenge reigns for the Universal Title. It is not clear if Rhodes will face Rollins for the title if Rock faces..

A Relief: Logan Paul Reveals Very Good News On His Knee Injury

That could be a lot worse. One of the worst things about an injury is wondering how long someone is going to be out of action. A wrestler can get banged up out of nowhere and need to go on the shelf for awhile, but the question becomes just how long. It can be great news when something is nowhere near as bad as it seems and thankfully that seems to be what is happening with a WWE star. IN CASE YOU MISSED IT: RKNo: Another Bad Randy Orton Injury Update Earlier this month at WWE Crown Jewel, Logan Paul unsuccessfully challenged Roman Reigns for the Undisputed WWE Championship. Following his loss, Paul revealed that he had suffered multiple knee injuries during the match. Paul has released a video on his YouTube page, announcing that he has suffered a torn MCL and will need a minimum six weeks to heal. Paul also revealed that he will be undergoing physical therapy and did not mention needing surgery. There is no word on when he will be returning to the ring. Paul does have something to..

Roman Reigns Targeted By 38 Year Old WWE Superstar

He could work. Roman Reigns has dominated WWE for over two years now, with one of the longest World Title reigns in company history. Reigns has run through just about everyone that has come in his path, which has not left him with many opponents left to come after him. WWE is going to need to look in a different direction to find a challenger and now someone is calling out Reigns. Reigns successfully defended his Undisputed WWE Championship against Logan Paul in the main event of Crown Jewel over the weekend. Following his victory, SmackDown’s Santos Escobar sent out a tweet, saying that he was acknowledging Reigns, but when the time was right, Escobar would be coming for him. Escobar debuted on the main roster in October as the leader of the Legado del Fantasma stable. @WWERomanReigns TRIBAL CHIEF!! Consider yourself ACKNOWLEDGED. When the time is right… I’m coming for you. ?????? #WWECrownJewel #SmackDown — SANTOS ESCOBAR??? (@EscobarWWE) November 5, 2022 Opinion: Sure why not. W..

Here’s What WWE Didn’t Have Planned For Cody Rhodes Before His Injury

That was the idea? Earlier this year at WrestleMania 38, Cody Rhodes made his return to WWE. Rhodes went on to defeat Seth Rollins multiple times, including inside Hell In A cell with a torn pectoral muscle. This led to Rhodes becoming one of the biggest stars in the company as he had to go on the shelf to recover from his injury. But what was planned before he left? According to Fightful Select, there was nothing to suggest that Rhodes was going to win the WWE Championship before he was injured. Those plans would have still been under Vince McMahon, who was said to be “all on board” with keeping the WWE World Titles on Roman Reigns. There is no word on if the plans have changed since McMahon’s retirement and the rise of a new regime in WWE. Opinion: I’m not sure if I should be surprised by this or not, as Rhodes did come back as a big deal, but there is a difference between being a star and being the star of the company. Maybe that would change in the coming months when Rhodes gets ..

WATCH: Drew McIntyre vs. Randy Orton From WWE Hell in a Cell 2020

A virtual hell. WWE has posted a new video to its YouTube channel in which they show the full match between Drew McIntyre and Randy Orton from WWE Hell in a Cell 2020. This match was contested inside of the cell and was for the WWE Championship. You can see the match in its entirety below: [This post contains video, click to play] From WWE.com: Orton controlled the battlefield with his signature deliberate pace, carefully calculating every move. McIntyre found a way to rally with a series of belly-to-belly throws, including a third that sent Orton crashing into a table. But The Viper’s plotting didn’t relent, and he used bolt cutters to escape the cell and began scaling it moments later, challenging McIntyre to pursue him. That appeared to be Orton’s plan all along, as he retrieved a lead pipe atop the cage, though McIntyre ducked his wild swing to thwart this particular scheme. While climbing down, both men struck each other repeatedly while clinging to the cell. Unable to hold..

WATCH: John Cena vs. Batista – WWE Title “I Quit” Match: Over the Limit 2010

That’s one way to do it. WWE has posted a new video to its YouTube channel in which they show the full match between John Cena and Batista for the WWE Championship in an “I Quit” Match from Over the Limit 2010. You can see the match in its entirety below: [This post contains video, click to play] From WWE.com: When WWE Champion John Cena and his opponent Batista faced off in an “I Quit” Match, it seemed entirely appropriate that the two Hemi-powered heavyweights found themselves dueling in the Motor City. Each man buried the speedometer as they rumbled toward each other until, finally, The Animal ran out of fuel and was forced to utter those infamous words, “I quit.” For months, Batista had complained about The Champ, stating that The Animal should be the real “face of WWE.” That animosity only intensified after Batista was embarrassed in a Last Man Standing Match when Cena prevailed by duct-taping his feet together around one of the ring posts. As for Cena, The Champ has appear..

WRESTLING RUMORS: WWE’s Future Plans For Roman Reigns As World Champion

He’s the future. We are freshly into the unofficial new season for WWE as WrestleMania 38 has come and gone. The main event of the show saw Roman Reigns defeat Brock Lesnar to unify the WWE Championship with his own Universal Championship to become Undisputed WWE Universal Champion. This extends Reigns’ time as champion to nearly 600 days and that number could grow. According to Wrestlingnews.co, there are no plans for Reigns to lose the title anytime soon. Reigns has been Universal champion since August 30, 2020, making him the fifth longest reigning World Champion in company history. There has been speculation that Reigns will hold the title through next year’s WrestleMania, which will allow WWE to discuss him as the greatest star of all time. There is no word on who Reigns will face, though WWE is hoping that they will be able to get the Rock for the match. Opinion: I don’t think it is any surprise that Reigns is going to hold the title even longer, though I’m not sure how well th..

You Might Not Be Seeing Brock Lesnar In WWE Anytime Soon

Maybe not? There are certain wrestlers who are going to get your attention no matter what they do. There is something about them that catches your attention and does not let it go, which makes for a rather special appearance. WWE has some of those wrestlers today but they are few and far between. One such wrestler’s appearances might be even fewer and further between for the time being. The official WWE.com page for WrestleMania Backlash is no longer advertising Brock Lesnar for an appearance, as he had been previously listed for an appearance. At the moment, Lesnar’s next scheduled appearance is at Money in the Bank on July 2 in Las Vegas, Nevada. Lesnar was defeated by Roman Reigns at WrestleMania 38 as Reigns won the WWE Championship and retained the Universal Championship. Opinion: This isn’t the biggest surprise as Lesnar is hardly a full time star. He has been around more this year than he has been in a very long time and it makes sense for him to be away for the time being. Le..

LOOK: Possible Preview Of Undisputed WWE World Title

They have a plan. We are less than a week away from WrestleMania 38 and that means it is time to get ready for the biggest WWE match of the year. This time around that is going to be a championship unification match between Universal Champion Roman Reigns and WWE Champion Brock Lesnar. That means there is going to be one World Champion, but it is going to be something a little different than we have seen before. This week on SmackDown, Reigns mentioned that he would become the Undisputed WWE Universal Champion. An image has made its way onto Twitter showing a large prop of a WWE title belt in Arlington, Texas, the sight of WrestleMania 38. The title is labeled the World Heavyweight Champion and features a blue design which is currently not present in any WWE championship. While not confirmed, this may be the new Undisputed Universal Championship design. WWE is currently shooting exterior WrestleMania 38 shots using this massive prop in Frisco, Texas. Is this the new unified WWE World..

WATCH: Triple H vs. Randy Orton From WrestleMania XXV (25)

The protege seeks revenge. WWE has posted a new video to its YouTube channel in which they show the full match between Triple H and Randy Orton for the WWE Championship from WrestleMania XXV (25). You can see the match in its entirety below: [This post contains video, click to play] From WWE.com: The match began with not one bang, but two, as Triple H and Orton both hit their patented maneuvers (the Pedigree and RKO respectively) within moments of the contest’s start. The Game dominated the early match, prompting The Legend Killer to move the fight outside of the ring. Keenly aware of the stipulation that would have the WWE Championship change hands on a disqualification or count-out, Orton hoped to leave his opponent battered and broken outside the ring as the referee counted to 10. But Triple H was running on pure fury, repeatedly coming back from the third-generation Superstar’s underhanded tactics. With his options running out, Orton took out the referee, giving himself a few..

WATCH: The Rock vs. John Cena From WrestleMania 29

The redemption story. WWE has posted a new video to its YouTube page in which they show the full match between The Rock and John Cena for the WWE Championship from WrestleMania 29. You can see the video in its entirety below: [This post contains video, click to play] From WWE.com: As their battle progressed, the two Superstars abandoned all pretenses and cued up the heavy artillery, tossing signature maneuvers at each other in the hopes of keeping the other down. For a moment, it seemed like Cena had the advantage again when Rock nearly fell victim to the same hubris as his opponent last year, attempting Cena’s Five Knuckle Shuffle and running straight into Cena’s waiting arms for an AA. The Cenation leader later used the same history to his advantage when he suckered Rock into another AA after faking him out with a façade of the same People’s Elbow endeavor that cost him the bout last year. Victory would not come so easily at the cost of The People’s Champion, though, and the ba..

As Only He Could: Brock Lesnar Went Off Script At WWE Elimination Chamber

That’s not normal. This weekend, WWE presented its annual Elimination Chamber event, featuring two of the show’s namesake matches. The show was headlined by the men’s Elimination Chamber match for the WWE Championship, with Brock Lesnar being crowned the new champion. That part might not be the biggest surprise, but there was one part that did not go according to plan. Bobby Lashley came into the men’s Elimination Chamber match as the reigning WWE Champion but was taken out of the match due to an injury before he ever entered. As a result, he was unable to participate when his scheduled entry took place. Instead, Lesnar kicked through his pod door and entered the match early. According to PWInsider.com, this was not a planned spot and Lesnar legitimately broke the Plexiglas in his pod door. Opinion: Lesnar is a scary human being and that is the kind of thing that only he could do. He literally kicked through a pod window and broke into the Elimination Chamber on the spur of the momen..
