It can happen to anyone. There are all kinds of problems that can take place in a wrestler’s life and those just involve what happens with their jobs. In addition to whatever can happen while they are at work, there is also the issue of problems that take place elsewhere. Now a WWE star is dealing with one of those issues and it is more than a bit serious this time. IN CASE YOU MISSED IT: Flashback: Cameron Makes Bold Claim About WWE Reunion With Naomi According to TMZ.com, WWE star Sonya Deville was arrested on February 19 in Atlantic City, New Jersey on a charge of possession a firearm without a New Jersey permit. A valet reportedly found the gun and called authorities, leading to the arrest. Deville has possessed the weapon since she was stalked by a fan in August 2020. The gun is registered to her in Florida but not in New Jersey and Deville has a hearing scheduled for later this month. According to PWInsider.com, Deville does not have heat with WWE management over the issue. Nei..
That could have been horrible. There are all kinds of people in the wrestling industry but at the same time they all have to deal with the same kind of things that non-wrestling people do as well. Some of those things can be terrible and incredibly difficult to face, including all kinds of tragedies. That is the case with one wrestling legend and some of his comments scared his fans so much that police got involved. Earlier this week on his Kliq This podcast, Kevin Nash spoke about his son passing away twelve weeks ago. This included Nash talking about how “time flies when you got a gun in your mouth” and how he can do “whatever the f*** I wanna do. Long as I leave a note.” According to TMZ, this caused the Volusia County Sheriff’s office to do a wellness check on Nash. The office said that Nash seemed to be ok. Nash mentioned the situation on Twitter, saying that he was being sarcastic and using it as a coping mechanism. He also thanked fans for their worries. Nash had a heck of a c..
That’s a lot. Wrestlers can do a lot of things to improve their standing in a promotion and, in theory at least, make more money. That is the kind of thing that can be rather tricky as wrestlers have to figure out what fans want and then act accordingly. Now another wrestler is doing just that, and it seems to be going incredibly well, even if it has nothing to do with wrestling whatsoever. IN CASE YOU MISSED IT: Not Him: WWE Pulls Hall Of Famer From ECW Tribute Show Last week, WWE released Mandy Rose, reportedly over a series of controversial photos and videos Rose released on her FanTime subscription site. According to TMZ Sports, Rose has made $500,000 since being released, which could double as soon as Christmas Day on Sunday. Rose, 32 years old, has given no indication of when or if she will resume her wrestling career. Rose was a star in NXT. A serious situation. Wrestlers portray either heroes or villains in the ring, but that does not mean that they are the same way when the cameras stop rolling. You never know what you might be seeing behind the scenes, but every now and then, a glimpse comes through. Now we can see something else from a former wrestler in a serious situation and it is not the nicest thing. IN CASE YOU MISSED IT: Upgrade: Road Dogg Explains Changes Coming To NXT Call-Up System Back in August, former NXT star Velveteen Dream was arrested in Orlando, Florida on charges of first degree battery and trespassing. TMZ has released video of Dream being arrested outside of an Orlando fitness center. The video shows Dream yelling at the officers, asking for his phone to call his lawyer and repeating that he had not been read his rights. The case was later dropped with the alleged victim did not wish to press charges. This is a rough sit. Check out the arrest footage: [This post contains video, click to play] ..
Yes, again. There are all kinds of stories in wrestling and ways to present a feud between stars. Some of the better ones have elements of real life issues built in, as they can allow for some great moments in front of the camera. That can also lead to some backstage issues though and that seems to have happened again between two stars who are not getting along at all. Earlier this month, AEW’s Andrade El Idolo and Sammy Guevara got into an argument on Twitter over an interview El Idolo did on Mexican television. Now, according to TMZ Sports, the two had a backstage altercation at this week’s AEW TV taping, resulting in El Idolo being sent home. This comes shortly after AEW President Tony Khan announced that El Idolo’s mask vs. career match against 10 had been pulled from Rampage. Opinion: I’m not sure where this is going to lead, but at some point there have to be some serious consequences for the people involved. We are just barely over a month removed from the big backstage brawl ..
That’s a rough one to watch. While he is certainly a very talented wrestler, Jeff Hardy also has some issues outside the ring. Unfortunately some of these are legal issues which have caused him several problems over the years. The problems have flared up again this week, and now we can see just how bad things got, even in a situation that was already bad in the first place. Earlier this week, Hardy was arrested on charges of driving under the influence and other issues. Since then, TMZ have released the dashboard video from the police car, showing three police officers pulling their guns on Hardy for not obeying their orders to exit his car. The officers then remove Hardy from the car and have him sit down, where they interview him about his driving. Hardy said that he was on his way to the doctor for a “brain scan”, which he could not explain. The video ends with Hardy undergoing field sobriety tests and being handcuffed. Hardy has since been suspended from AEW as a result of the arr..
Wedding bells will be ringing! According to a report from TMZ, Sammy Guevara proposed to Tay Conti at the Eiffel Tower in Paris, France, earlier today. She said yes, and the couple is now engaged! The two have been a couple since January 2022. They have been regularly featured as an on-screen couple as well. This is not Guevara’s first proposal; he was in a relationship for eight years with Pamella Nizio, a medical worker from Houston. In August 2021, he proposed to her at an AEW show in Houston in the middle of the ring; however, they split up soon afterward in October. The two were recently in a trios match at the 2022 Double or Nothing pay-per-view. Together, they teamed with Frankie Kazarian to take on the team of Ethan Page, Scorpio Sky, and Page Van Zandt in a losing effort. Congratulations to the happy couple! Editor’s Opinion: I’m sure this will cause some controversy because there are some AEW fans who do not approve of this couple and how they act on screen. However, if..
That doesn’t make it better. Wrestlers are like anyone else in that they have personal issues that take place behind the scenes. Some of these are more prominent than others and unfortunately a lot of them do not exactly paint wrestlers in the best light. That was the case last year and now we can see a bit more about just how bad the whole thing wound up being. Back in July, SmackDown’s Jimmy Uso was arrested on suspicion of DUI in Pensacola, Florida. Now TMZ has released video of the incident, which shows Uso yelling at the officer and swearing at him. The officer said that he hoped Uso passed his field sobriety tests, sending Uso into a rant against the officer, accusing him of making a remark that he shouldn’t have. The officer tried to calm things down and said Uso had misunderstood. Following his arrest, Uso was eventually ordered to complete classes related to the whole situation and has since done so. This isn’t the best thing. Check out the video from Uso’s arrest: [This po..
Welcome back? Injuries are one of the few constants in wrestling as you never know when you are going to see someone get taken out of action by being hurt. There is never a good time to see someone get injured and it can be something that keeps the on the shelf for any length of time. Some of these injuries seem to be career ending, but now it seems that someone could return to the ring when it was never thought possible. Monday Night Raw broadcaster Corey Graves recently spoke to TMZ and revealed that he is medically cleared to return to the ring. Graves said that he had been getting the itch and had to know if he could wrestle again, though he said that it is not an immediate goal of his. There is also no word on if WWE is interested in having him return to the ring. Graves, 38, has not wrestled since 2014 after suffering a series of concussions. Opinion: I’m not sure if Graves is ever going to get back in the ring but it is cool to see that he is able to do so if he wants to. That..
The Beast doesn’t find it funny. Last night, at a dinner in St. Louis, Brock Lesnar had an encounter with ‘Jackass’ star Wee-Man and body-slammed him through a table. The video has made its way to the Internet, including on TMZ Sports. You can see one example of the video below: Brock Lesnar hanging out with The Jackass crew before Royal Rumble 2022 pic.twitter.com/CJ7lkYmyQk — WWE Hindi Daily (@tmykwoah) January 29, 2022 This appears to be a fun event and encounter, with no malicious intent involved. The dinner took place in St. Louis, which is the site of the 2022 Royal Rumble. Lesnar is scheduled to defend his WWE Championship against Bobby Lashley, while ‘Jackass Forever’ star Johnny Knoxville is scheduled to be an entrant into the Men’s Royal Rumble match. Editor’s Opinion: I love stuff like this. Over the past few months, we have seen a different side of The Beast, as his more comical and laid-back side has started to be a part of his character. From the Cowboy Hat on Raw ..
That sounds very wrong. Every now and then, you hear about a wrestler doing something that is not going to be very well accepted. Sometimes it is a situation that winds up being an embarrassment, but there are other instances that go all the way into criminal. Unfortunately that was the case earlier this week and now we know a lot more about the incident. Earlier this week, news broke of WWE legend Tammy Sytch, better known as Sunny, being arrested over terroristic threats. According to TMZ, Sytch threatened to kill a man with a pair of scissors, as seen by a police officer. Sytch was said to be under the influence of drugs or alcohol, but the man was unharmed in the incident. According to PWInsider.com, Sytch was released from custody on Friday, but is required to make weekly check-ins with the court. Opinion: I’m not sure what to even say about Sytch these days as it is clear that she needs some kind of serious help as this is not working. It seems that she cannot go very long with..
Here we go again. According to a report from TMZ, former WWE superstar Tammy Sytch, also known as Sunny, was arrested on Thursday morning on charges of possessing a weapon and making terroristic threats. The report states that there are a total of 3 charges pending against Sunny: 2 for illegally possessing a weapon and 1 for terroristic threats. The nature of the alleged threats is not currently known at this time. The weapons charges are classified as third degree, while the threats charge is fourth degree. If convicted, the weapons charges each carry a possible 3-5 year prison term, while the threats charge carries up to a 1-year sentence. This is not the first time that Sunny has had legal problems in recent memory; in 2019, she was arrested for a DUI and then went on to violate her parole. Check out Sunny during her happier days: [This post contains video, click to play] We will continue to monitor this story and provide any updates as they become available to us. Editor’s ..
That’s one way to go. There are stars in the wrestling world and then there is the Rock, who has long since been one of the biggest stars in the history of wrestling and one of the biggest stars in all of entertainment. That is going to get him a lot of attention, with some of it coming from fellow wrestlers. We saw that again this week, and it was done in the form of a rap. Earlier this month, the Rock took part in his first rap song with Face Off, which went all the way to #1 on the iTunes rap charts. AEW’s Max Caster, who is also a rapper, took offense to this and has responded to the Rock. In a new interview with TMZ Sports, Caster freestyled a rap on the Rock, including challenging him to come to Dynamite and have a match. Rock has not responded to Caster. This got interesting in a hurry. Check out Rock’s rap, Caster’s response, and how a wrestling battle rap works: [This post contains video, click to play] [This post contains video, click to play] [This post contains video..
You have to do something else. Wrestlers are like normal people in that at some point, their careers are going to end. What makes things a little bit different though is the fact that wrestlers are often going to be retiring from the ring far before they are moving into traditional retirement years. They need something else to do and now several former WWE stars seem to have found at least a temporary something. Three former WWE stars have landed a new position outside of wrestling. First up, Adam Scherr, formerly known as Braun Strowman, will be serving as an analyst at the Mr. Olympia Power Arm Wrestling Championships on October 8 and 9. Next, Dean Muhtadi, formerly known as Mojo Rawley, has announced he will be the new co-host for TMZ Sports Monday thru Friday on Fox Sports 1. Finally, NBC has announced, by way of 411mania.com, that Nikki Bella will be serving as one of the judges on America’s Got Talent: Extreme, which will be debuting later this month. Honored to announce I will..
A different kind of hero. Wrestlers often play heroes on television but that does not always mean it is the case outside of the ring. You do have some good people in the wrestling industry though, many of whom have done some awesome things to help people when they need it. That was the case again this week, in something that was about as important as it gets. According to TMZ, former WWE and Impact Wrestling star Al Snow saved a young boy in Destin, Florida from an ocean riptide. Snow was at the beach and heard a boy screaming as the water pulled him away. Since the lifeguard was too far away, Snow ran and saved the boy before another tide pulled him out. Neither Snow nor the boy suffered any injuries in the incident. Snow said that had he now gotten there when he did, the boy would have been pulled out to sea. Snow has done some good things in wrestling as well. Check out some of his moments: [This post contains video, click to play] [This post contains video, click to play] [T..
It’s done. Last year, the SpeakingOut Movement shook up the wrestling world in a huge way that could not have been seen coming. A series of statements, announcements and interviews revealed that several wrestlers from around the world were being accused of various forms of sexual harassment and assault. Now one of the biggest remaining cases has been wrapped up. According to TMZ, Candy Cartwright has dropped her sexual assault lawsuit against WWE’s Riddle. The lawsuit claimed that Riddle sexually assaulted Cartwright in a van in 2018, a charge which Riddle has denied. There is no word on if a financial settlement has been reached, though Cartwright was seeking $10 million in the lawsuit. Neither Riddle nor his lawyer has commented on the situation. Riddle never missed any time with WWE over the situation and will compete in the Money in the Bank ladder match this coming weekend. This is still a rather serious situation. Check out some more lighthearted moments with nothing to do with..
According to a report from TMZ, Jimmy Uso was arrested last evening in Pensacola, Florida, for driving under the influence of alcohol. He has been charged with a misdemeanor DUI. Uso, whose real name is Jonathan Fatu, was pulled over at around 10:35 PM on Monday in Pensacola after police say that he ran a red light after being clocked going 50 MPH in a 35 MPH zone. During subsequent questioning, they smelled alcohol on him, so they asked him to exit his Dodge Charger and gave him a field sobriety test, which he failed. Official police records state that Uso’s Blood Alcohol Content (BAC) breath tests came back at .202 and .205, which is well above Florida’s legal limit of .08. His bond is currently set at $500. This is not Uso’s first DUI; he was arrested in July 2019 for a similar offense. He was later found not guilty of the charges. He has been featured in prominent storylines as of late, with his cousin Roman Reigns: [This post contains video, click to play] We will continue ..
Well that’s different. There are a lot of things going on in the world at the moment and wrestling is no exception. With so many changes every few moments, you never can tell what is going to happen next. WrestleMania is currently twenty days away and it is looking less and less likely that any kind of traditional show will be taking place. However, there might be another idea. The changes that the Coronavirus have caused have shaken up the wrestling world, though WWE is managing to stick around with shows at the Performance Center. That doesn’t really work well for WrestleMania, but the company is running out of places to hold the event. With the traditional show not really an option, WWE is considering something else and it would be a first time situation for WrestleMania. According to TMZ, WWE is considering holding WrestleMania 36 in an empty stadium. There is no word on where the show would be held, or if the company would be required to have a smaller talent pool than usual to ..
