Impact Wrestling Results – March 2, 2023

Impact Wrestling Date: March 2, 2023 Location: Sam’s Town Hotel & Gambling Hall, Las Vegas, Nevada Commentators: Tom Hannifan, Matthew Rehwoldt We are done with No Surrender and that means we are at least one step closer to Rebellion in April. Josh Alexander is still the World Champion after retaining over Rich Swann, but now Steve Maclin is waiting on the champ. That should make for a good buildup and they have time to make it work. Let’s get to it. We open with a recap of No Surrender. Here is the Bullet Club for a chat to start. Chris Bey is rather happy about what he and Ace Austin have been doing lately, including beating the Motor City Machine Guns (in a six man tag) at No Surrender. Bey talks about helping set up the ring in this building before making his Impact Wrestling debut here as well. It turns out that Austin debuted here too but he would rather talk about beating Chris Sabin. After revealing Austin’s “I BEAT CHRIS SABIN”, we get a quick audience poll over who the be..

Impact Wrestling Results – February 16, 2023

Impact Wrestling Date: February 16, 2023 Location: Osceola Heritage Park, Orlando, Florida Commentators: Tom Hannifan, Matthew Rehwoldt We are some amount of days away from No Surrender and that means it is time for some other qualifying match for the #1 contenders match. Other than that, hopefully we get more build towards Josh Alexander defending the World Title against Rich Swann. Also hopefully, we get less build towards the eventual Tommy Dreamer vs. Bully Ray showdown. Let’s get to it. In Memory Of Jerry Jarrett. Opening recap. Chris Bey vs. Kushida Ace Austin/the Motor City Machine Guns are the seconds. Kushida takes him down without much trouble to start with Bey having to bail to the ropes. Bey picks up the speed and sweeps out the leg before hitting a kick to the head. They head outside with Kushida getting sent into the apron, only to kick the arm out on the way back inside. The arm is slammed into the mat and Kushida twists it around for a bonus. Bey heads outside and ..

Impact Wrestling Results – February 9, 2023

Impact Wrestling Date: February 9, 2023 Location: Osceola Heritage Park, Kissimmee, Florida Commentators: Tom Hannifan, Matthew Rehwoldt No Surrender is coming up and most of the card has been set up so far. That includes the World Title match, which has not exactly gotten a ton of hype. Maybe it is because it seems we have another challenger on the horizon, but Rich Swann challenging Josh Alexander isn’t exactly feeling huge. Hopefully they can get some more of it covered this week so let’s get to it. Opening recap. Matt Cardona arrives and says he’s in the main event tonight. He is shown to his private dressing room with champagne and shrimp cocktails, but it turns out this is Joe Hendry’s room. Cardona is shown to a closet instead. No Surrender #1 Contenders Qualifying Match: Brian Myers vs. Dirty Dango They run the ropes to start until Dango armdrags him into an armbar. Myers’ sunset flip is blocked and Dango drops a leg before they head outside. A posting cuts Dango off and of..

Impact Wrestling Results – February 2, 2023

Impact Wrestling Date: February 2, 2023 Location: Osceola Heritage Park, Kissimmee, Florida Commentators: Tom Hannifan, Matthew Rehwoldt It’s the start of a new month and we are well on our way to No Surrender. Last week saw Rich Swann win a #1 contenders match to earn a shot at Josh Alexander later this month, but it still feels like we are coming up on Steve Maclin as the really big bad. Odds are we see more of the build this week so let’s get to it. Opening recap. Opening sequence. Bullet Club vs. Kevin Knight/Kushida Knight and Ace start things off with Bey’s headlock not getting him very far. Knight misses a charge into the corner and Bey stomps him in the back, only to get caught with a springboard spinning crossbody. It’s off to Kushida to start in on the arm but it’s right back to Knight, whose springboard is dropkicked out of the air. Austin comes in to stomp Knight down for two and he kicks away at Knight in the corner. The Club starts taking turns on Knight, with Austin ..

Hand It Over: Title Change Takes Place This Weekend

History has been made! There are a lot of titles to be won in the wrestling world and some of them are a little less than traditional. With so many championships out there, it is easy to find one on the line at almost any time, even if they are not taking place on a show from the company that promotes the title. That is the case again here, as a title change took place this week. This weekend, Rich Swann defeated Matt Cardona to become the new Impact Wrestling Digital Media Championship. The title change took place at the Wrestling Revolver event in Las Vegas, Nevada, though Swann did not leave with the title. Following the loss, Cardona grabbed the title and ran to the back with it instead of handing it over to Swann. The title change ends Cardona’s reign at 114 days after he won the title on the February 3 Impact Wrestling. More On Ring Of Honor’s Impact Wrestling Invasion

This could be the start of something big. The wrestling world has been changing in a lot of different ways over the last several months, with one of the biggest changes being the end of the original Ring of Honor. The promotion let all of its contracted workers go, meaning they are now available to work elsewhere. A large group of them might have found a new home, and now we might know something more about them. This weekend, Impact Wrestling’s Hard To Kill pay per view included an invasion by a group of former Ring of Honor wrestlers. Matt Taven, Vincent, PCO, Mike Bennett and Maria Kanellis all appeared, with all but Kanellis attacking Eddie Edwards, Rhino, Heath, Rich Swann and Willie Mack. According to PWInsider.com, neither Taven, Vincent, PCO nor Bennett are currently under contract to Ring of Honor. Kanellis’ contract status is unclear but she will be part of the group in Impact Wrestling. It was a big moment. Check out who is coming to Impact Wrestling: [This post contains v..

Ring Of Honor Invades Impact Wrestling Hard To Kill

Nice to meet you? There have been a lot of changes in the wrestling world over the last year and some of those changes have been rather important to say the least. One of the biggest has been the end of the original era for Ring of Honor, as the company is going into hiatus. Those wrestlers are going to have to go somewhere though, and now we know where some of them seem to have landed. This weekend, Impact Wrestling presented their annual Hard To Kill event. Following the Hardcore War between Violent By Design and Eddie Edwards/Rich Swann/Willie Mack/Heath/Rhino, a group of Ring of Honor wrestlers appeared and attacked Edwards and company. This included PCO, Matt Taven, Mike Bennett and Vincent, accompanied by Maria Kanellis. There is no word on if more Ring of Honor wrestlers will be joining them in the future, though the show did feature a match for the Ring of Honor World Title, with Jonathan Gresham retaining against Chris Sabin. We sense there is a little invasion going on here..

Another Big Wrestling Star Tests Positive For Coronavirus

Next on the list. The Coronavirus pandemic has started rocking the world all over again and this time in greater numbers. There are only so many things that can be done to bring the already high numbers down, and now the wrestling world is being impacted as well. That is the case again with a prominent star, who might be missing out on an upcoming big match as a result. According to the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Impact Wrestling’s Rich Swann has tested positive for the Coronavirus. The diagnosis has caused him to miss an AAW event earlier this week in Chicago and it is not clear when he will be allowed to return to the ring. Swann is currently scheduled to take part in a ten man Tag Team Hardcore War at Impact Wrestling Hardcore War on January 8. Swann has been a big part of Impact Wrestling. Impact Wrestling Results – December 23, 2021

Impact Wrestling Date: December 23, 2021 Hosts: Josh Matthews, Scott D’Amore We’ve reached a holiday weekend and that means it is time for a special show. In other words, Impact is putting the brakes on the build to Hard To Kill and showcasing the Best of 2021 instead, which should make for a good night. The company has been doing well this year and they have some solid stuff to pick from, so let’s get to it. Of note: if a match is included, I’ll posting the full version rather than a clipped version. Opening sequence. From Hard To Kill. Kenny Omega/Good Brothers vs. Rich Swann/Moose/Chris Sabin Don Callis is here too and handles Omega’s entrance (which Striker says is a moment fans will be telling their children about). Anderson drives Sabin into the corner to start and a shot to the face has Sabin in some trouble. An armdrag gets him right back out though and we have a standoff. Moose and Gallows get in for the big man showdown with Moose knocking him around. Omega comes in, wi..

Impact Wrestling Rebellion 2021 Results

Rebellion 2021 Date: April 25, 2021 Location: Skyway Studios, Nashville, Tennessee Commentators: D’Lo Brown, Matt Striker Rich Swann vs. Kenny Omega, title for title. I would talk about the rest of the show but none of it matters in the slightest, which you would know if you have been watching the TV shows. Nothing else has gotten any significant attention in the build, which does make some sense. Hopefully it lives up to the considerable hype. Let’s get to it. The opening sequence focuses on Omega vs. Swann, with Omega talking about how being the best goes so far beyond being the best in the ring. The rest of the card gets far less attention. X-Division Title: TJP vs. Ace Austin vs. Josh Alexander Austin, with Madman Fulton, is defending. Alexander and TJP go after the champ to start with Austin kicking Alexander in the head. TJP gets taken down so Alexander goes for the ankle lock on Austin. That’s broken up so Alexander gets caught in TJP’s Octopus hold. With that not lasting lon..

Impact Wrestling Results – April 22, 2021

Impact Wrestling Date: April 22, 2021 Location: Skyway Studios, Nashville, Tennessee Commentators: Matt Striker, D’Lo Brown It’s the go home show for Rebellion and I’m curious to see how they push the rest of the card. The main event is long since set but we need more of the card being built up. We should be in for a good pay per view but some of that is going to be based on a good go home show. Let’s get to it. We open with a video on Rich Swann vs. Kenny Omega, including last week’s press conference. Opening sequence. Decay vs. Good Brothers Rosemary is here with Decay. Anderson and Steve start things off with the former firing off some uppercuts. Steve gets smart by grabbing the arm and brings in Taurus to chop away in the corner. Decay takes turns on the arm but Andreson gets Taurus over to the corner so Gallows can hammer away. A shot to the mask sets up Anderson’s chinlock, followed by Gallows’ elbows to the chest and a chinlock of his own. That’s broken up as well and the h..

Impact Wrestling Rebellion 2021 Preview, Predictions And Thoughts

We haven’t been around for one of these in a little while. Impact Wrestling is back with another of its quarterlyish pay per views with Rebellion, and this time it is al about the guest star. The big main event is AEW World Champion Kenny Omega vs. Impact Wrestling World Champion Rich Swann in a title for title match. Impact has done everything it can to make this interesting and it has gone about as well as you would expect. Maybe the rest of the show can make up for it. Let’s get to it. Tag Team Titles: FinJuice(c) vs. Good Brothers Let’s get this out of the way to start: FinJuice is not very interesting. They’re talented in the ring, but their characters in Impact boil down to “we’re from New Japan and like wrestling.” Unless I’ve missed something, there isn’t much more to them than that. I understand why it’s a big deal to have the titles defended in New Japan for Impact but it doesn’t do much for the champs. The Good Brothers aren’t much better, but at least they’re around. With..

Impact Wrestling Results – November 17, 2020

Impact Wrestling Date: November 22, 2020 Location: Skyway Studios, Nashville, Tennessee Commentators: Madison Rayne, Josh Matthews We’re done with Turning Point and now things are starting to get a little more interesting. There were two title changes on the show as the Good Brothers and Deonna Purrazzo won the Tag Team and Knockouts Titles (you can figure out which did which). Other than that, the hunt is still on for John E. Bravo’s shooter. Let’s get to it. The opening video looks at Turning Point. Opening sequence. Moose vs. Willie Mack Non-title, No DQ and a rematch from Turning Point where Moose won but had the decision overturned for attacking after the bell. They charge at each other to start with Mack hammering away and hitting a dropkick into the corner. There’s the Cannonball to send Moose outside but he tosses Mack over the barricade. Moose whips him into the barricade for a bonus and says this is for Rich Swann. Back in and Moose misses a dropkick but nips right back u..

Impact Wrestling Results – April 7, 2020

Impact Wrestling Date: April 7, 2020 Location: Coca Cola Roxy, Atlanta, Georgia Commentators: Madison Rayne, Josh Matthews Things are getting interesting around here as they are running out of original content but apparently are going to do a big empty arena taping soon enough. As a result, we could be seeing a lot of Rebellion, though not quite in the same situation. I’ll take what I can get though as they’ve made me want to see the pay per view. Let’s get to it. Opening recap. Opening sequence. Here’s an annoyed Willie Mack for a chat. He calls out Ace Austin and Reno Scum for attacking the injured Rich Swann last week so come out here and try that on him. Cue Reno Scum so Mack says let’s do this. Willie Mack vs. Reno Scum The brawl is on in a hurry with Mack sending Thornstowe outside but the numbers game takes him down early on. Legend drops Thornstowe down in a legdrop for two and we get the Pit Stop for a bonus. Thornstowe gets two off a standing moonsault and we hit the nec..

Impact Wrestling Results – March 22, 2019

Impact Wrestling Date: March 22, 2019 Location: Sam’s Town Hotel & Gambling Hall, Las Vegas, Nevada Commentators: Don Callis, Josh Matthews It’s title time as Rich Swann defends the X-Division Title against Sami Callihan, who is ticked off over Swann turning down the chance to join OVE. Other than that we’re likely to get some fallout from Johnny Impact turning heel last week, which is probably best for everyone. Let’s get to it. The opening recap looks at everything going on around here, including Moose beating up the Rascalz, Jordynne Grace becoming #1 contender and the World Title situation. Opening sequence. Moose vs. Trey Miguel Fallout from the Rascalz making fun of their clothes and not getting anywhere with Melissa Santos. Miguel goes for the legs to start and actually pulls off a hurricanrana. Moose gets sent to the floor a few times but a suicide dive won’t even put him off his feet. The second attempt is countered into a release apron bomb but Trey slips out of another o..

Impact Wrestling Results – December 13, 2018

Impact Wrestling Date: December 13, 2018 Location: Sam’s Town Hotel & Gaming Hall, Las Vegas, Nevada Commentators: Josh Matthews, Don Callis This needs to be a good show as the next two episodes are going to be Best Of 2018 editions, meaning this is the last chance to set up Homecoming until the go home show. They’ve got a big main event with Moose vs. Brian Cage, which should see both guys beating each other up very well. Let’s get to it. The opening recap looks at the big stories. Opening sequence. Ultimate X Qualifying Match: Rich Swann vs. Dave Crist Jake Crist and Sami Callihan are at ringside with Dave. Crist sits in the corner for a long time to start, which is enough to lure Swann in to a false sense of security and a big boot. Stomping and choking ensue in the corner, followed by Swann being sent to the floor so Jake Crist can drop Swann on the apron. Back in and Swann starts hamming away with right hands (and some dancing of course), followed by a Lethal Injection for two..

Rich Swann Injured, What Is His Slammiversary Status?

Dang it. In today’s wrestling world, wrestlers often move from one company to another from night to night, partially due to how many companies can offer a lucrative one night deal. Some of these promotions are bigger than others and that means that one televised show can impact another. An injury can cause that as well, which seems to be the case again here. According to PWInsider.com, Rich Swann was injured at Thursday’s Major League Wrestling Battle Riot event. Swann received what seems to be a bad concussion during a tag team match when he teamed with ACH against Teddy Hart and Davey Boy Smith Jr. This presents a problem as Swann is scheduled to participate in a four way match at this Sunday’s Impact Wrestling Slammiversary pay per view. At the moment, Impact Wrestling is looking for a replacement in case Swann is not cleared to wrestle. This is what a healthy Swann is capable of doing. [This post contains video, click to play] Opinion: Hopefully this isn’t too bad and Swann is..

Rich Swann Returns To In-Ring Competition

He could not stay away from the ring. Rich Swann had quite the whirlwind of a 2017 in a short span of time as he was once a WWE superstar, then he and the company mutually agreed to part ways, and following that Swann decided that he no longer wanted to be a pro wrestler and announced his retirement from the sport. In December of 2017 Swann was suspended indefinitely by WWE for violating their zero tolerance policy for domestic violence. Rich Swann and his wife Vannarah Riggs, also known as 'Su Yung' were involved in an altercation with one another that resulted in Swann being arrested. Rich Swann was arrested on charges of battery and false imprisonment, and in January of this year the charges that were placed against him were dismissed due to lack of evidence to find him guilty. The following month after being cleared of the charges Swann and WWE agreed to mutually part ways. After his departure from company Swann had dates lined up with the 'CRASH Lucha Libre' ..
