Ouch: New AEW Star Injured At Big Independent Show Over The Weekend

That could be bad. Injuries are one of the worst things that can happen in wrestling. Not only do they put a wrestler on the shelf for an undetermined period of time, but they also can happen out of nowhere. Some injuries are built up over time and then flare up during a match, which appears to have been the case with a national star who was appearing for a major independent show. IN CASE YOU MISSED IT: The More You Know: AEW’s Kyle O’Reilly Opens Up About His Absence, Dealing With Health Issues Over the weekend, Pro Wrestling Guerrilla presented its annual Battle Of Los Angeles tournament. According to Wrestling Observer Radio, Bandido was injured during the two night event, though he was still able to wrestle both of his matches. Bandido is said to have injured his neck in a match with Black Taurus and El Hijo de Vikingo and was slowed down during his match the following night with Kommander. The injury is described as something that has “flared up” multiple times over the last few..

AEW Officially Offers Contract To Top Independent Star

They’re interested. AEW has opened a lot of doors for wrestlers to be able to appear on a national stage for the first time in their careers. While WWE had long since been the only major game in the industry, the number of spots has since gone way up. There have been some very talented names filling those spots and now AEW is making an attempt to pick up another one. The main event of this week’s edition of AEW Dynamite saw Bandido unsuccessfully challenge Chris Jericho for the Ring Of Honor World Title. According to the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, AEW offered Bandido a full time contract based on his performance, though there is no word on if Bandido has signed the deal. Bandido is a former Ring Of Honor and Pro Wrestling Guerrilla World Champion. Opinion: The only reason I can think of for Bandido to not have been signed to a major promotion is that he doesn’t want to. He has more charisma and talent than most wrestlers on national rosters today and it would make all the sense i..

RUMOR: Here’s Why AEW Pulled Stars From Upcoming Independent Shows

It takes priority. The rise of AEW has changed the way the wrestling world works in a lot of ways. One of the biggest has been allowing wrestlers to get a better chance to showcase themselves on a major stage. That is going to let those wrestlers land several bookings on smaller shows, but now that is not going to be the case with some wrestlers on an upcoming show. According to PW Torch, AEW has pulled a group of wrestlers from some upcoming independent events as they have changed a Dark taping from April 30 to May 1. As a result, Lee Moriarty and Skye Blue have been pulled from a Black Label Pro event and JD Drake, Top Flight and Wheeler Yuta have been pulled from a Pro Wrestling Guerrilla event. Both promotions have promised replacements. Unfortunately Lee Moriarty, Skye Blue and Jake Something will not be appearing at Fancy Wrestling next week. Updated matches and championship repercussions will be announced very soon. — Black Label Pro (@BLabelPro) April 22, 2022 Unfortunate..

This week on AEW Dynamite, Brody King made his debut, helping Malakai Black against the Varsity Blonds and Penta El Zero Miedo. King debuted as the newest member of the House of Black, after having been teased by Black a few weeks ago. King is a former Ring of Honor Tag Team Champion and one half of the reigning Pro Wrestling Guerrilla Tag Team Champions with Black. It was a big moment.
