NXT Vengeance Day 2023 Results

Vengeance Day 2023 Date: February 4, 2023 Location: Spectrum Center, Charlotte, North Carolina Commentators: Vic Joseph, Booker T. NXT is back on the road for the first time since Stand & Deliver all the way back in the spring. That is something that could do a lot of good for NXT and the card is pretty stacked as well. We have a bunch of title matches here, capped off by Bron Breakker defending the NXT Title against Grayson Waller inside a cage. Let’s get to it. Charlotte hosts the opening video, which features all of the wrestlers coming into what looks like a mini arena (probably at the Performance Center) and staring each other down. Commentary says they are on the road for the first time since they took over Portland over 1,000 days ago. North American Title: Wes Lee vs. Dijak Lee is defending and suckers Dijak into the corner to start. A missed charge lets Lee hit a slingshot hurricanrana (nearly taking out the referee in the process) to send Dijak outside. Back in and Dijak ..

WATCH: WWE Referee Drops Sami Zayn With A Stunner At Live Event

From both sides! A wrestling match is not a complicated concept. You have (usually) two wrestlers in the ring at once with the match most often ending via pinfall or submission. That is a pretty simple formula, but at the same time there is often a third person in the ring: the referee. While the referee is supposed to be impartial, that is not always going to be the case. Now a referee has gotten involved with a match and changed it in a big way. IN CASE YOU MISSED IT: WATCH: WWE Releases Never Before Seen Roman Reigns Match Earlier this week, WWE held a live event in the Greensboro Coliseum in Greensboro, North Carolina. In the show’s main event, Braun Strowman, Ricochet and Kevin Owens teamed up to face the Bloodline. Late in the match, Sami Zayn yelled at referee Jessika Carr, prompting Carr to hit him with a Stunner. Owens then came in and hit another Stunner to win the match for his team. A video of Carr’s Stunner has made its way online. It was a good one. Check out the Stunn..

Back Soon: AEW Star Reveals Recent Surgery

You won’t be seeing him for a bit. There are a lot of different dimensions to wrestling, but at the end of the day, it is a physical sport that can cause a lot of damage to the wrestlers themselves. You never know when you might see someone get injured and be put on the shelf. Sometimes wrestlers need to get a piece of themselves fixed up and that seems to have taken place again. IN CASE YOU MISSED IT: WATCH: Miro Offers Update On His AEW Return Status AEW’s Griff Garrison has revealed that he underwent a surgery in North Carolina this week. Garrison did not reveal the nature of his injury or how long he expected to be on the shelf recovering. Garrison, 24 years old, has not wrestled since the October 21 edition of AEW Dark, though there is no word on if the surgery is related to his recent absence from the ring. Had to go under the knife today. I’ll be back in no time. pic.twitter.com/qlC7DQB59u — Griff Garrison (@griffgarrison1) December 16, 2022 Garrison has had some nice times..

Next Step: NXT Taking Rare Step Early Next Year

Pack your bags. NXT is in a bit of a strange place at the moment as they are going through another transition. After about a year as NXT 2.0, the promotion has dropped the numbers and seems to be shifting in a new direction with Triple H back in power in WWE. That means some changes to NXT and now we might know the next major step in the company’s new path. IN CASE YOU MISSED IT: They’re Here: New Day Makes Surprise NXT Appearance, Jumps Into Title Picture According to PWInsider.com, NXT will be heading back on the road for its next premium live event. NXT Vengeance Day is expected to be held on Saturday February 4, 2023 at the Spectrum Center in Charlotte, North Carolina. Monday Night Raw Results – October 24, 2022

Monday Night Raw Date: October 24, 2022 Location: Spectrum Center, Charlotte, North Carolina Commentators: Corey Graves, Kevin Patrick We are less than two weeks away from Crown Jewel and that means the card is going to need a little more build up. Two more matches were added last week and now we are probably going to get either some build towards those matches and/or even more matches added. That is what the show needs so let’s get to it. Opening sequence. Here is Judgment Day to get things going. Rhea Ripley says that last week, AJ Styles found out that Judgment Day runs Monday Night Raw and that Dominik Mysterio is all man. Damian Priest wants the people to rise for the greatest luchador of all time. Dominik says these are the only people who ever believed in him and says last week was proof that Eddie Guerrero was his generation’s Dominik Mysterio. Cue the OC to say Dominik is stupid because he’s more like the James Ellsworth of this generation. Karl Anderson is ready to face Fi..

More Details On Ricky Steamboat’s Return To The Ring

That would be big. There are a lot of ways to wrap up a wrestling career and some of them can be very respectful for everyone involved. Every wrestler wants to go out on a high note but sometimes they will also want to prove that they still have what it takes to be in the ring, even one more time. That is what a legend is going to be doing later this year and now we know a bit more about the match. Earlier this year, it was announced that Ricky The Dragon Steamboat would be wrestling his final match later this year for Big Time Wrestling in Raleigh, North Carolina. The promotion has now announced that the match will be a six man tag, featuring Steamboat and FTR taking on Jay Lethal, Brock Anderson and a mystery partner, with Arn Anderson managing the team. The show takes place on November 27. It's the "Return of the Dragon" on Sunday, November 27 at the Dorton Arena in Raleigh, NC! RICKY "The Dragon" STEAMBOAT & FTR vs. ARN ANDERSON's team of BLACK MACHISMO, BROCK ANDERSO..

Homecoming: Arena Advertising Return Of Top WWE Star

Welcome back? There are a lot of wrestlers on the WWE roster today and some of them are among the biggest stars going in the wrestling world today. Those wrestlers are able to make quite the impact no matter what they are doing, but sometimes they are going to be away. What matters though is that those wrestlers get to come back at some point, which might be the case with a pretty big star. The PNC Arena in Raleigh, North Carolina is advertising an appearance by Charlotte for the August 12 edition of SmackDown. Charlotte is currently not listed on WWE.com’s preview for the show. Should she appear, this would be Charlotte’s first appearance since WrestleMania Backlash on May 8 when she was defeated by Ronda Rousey. There is no word on what Charlotte would be doing on the show. Opinion: This is the kind of return that WWE could use as Charlotte has been gone for the better part of two months. Charlotte is one of the bigger stars in the company and would instantly be one of the most imp..

REVIEW: Monday Night Raw – November 26, 2007: Fight Towards The End

Welcome to KB’s Old School (and New School) Reviews. I’ve been reviewing wrestling shows for over twelve years now and have reviewed over 6,000 shows. Every Monday, Wednesday and Friday, I’ll be posting a new review here on Wrestlingrumors.net. It could be anything from modern WWE to old school to indies to anything in between. Note that I rate using letters instead of stars and I don’t rate matches under three minutes as really, how good or bad can something that short be? Monday Night Raw Date: November 26, 2007 Location: Bobcats Arena, Charlotte, North Carolina Attendance: 6,900 Commentators: Jim Ross, Jerry Lawler We’re done with the holiday week and the big story coming out of last week is the return of Chris Jericho. You can see the Raw main event of next month’s pay per view from here but that doesn’t mean it’s a bad thing. Jericho is an instant main eventer and someone to give Orton a challenge, though he might have some rust to shake off first. Let’s get to it. We open with..

Monday Night Raw Live Coverage And Results – May 2, 2022

Monday Night Raw Date: May 2, 2022 Location: Greensboro Coliseum, Greensboro, North Carolina Commentators: Jimmy Smith, Corey Graves, Byron Saxton It’s the go home show for Wrestlemania Backlash and that means it is time for the final push towards the event. Granted after last week’s Smackdown, everything has changed again as we have a six man tag between the Bloodline and RKBro/Drew McIntyre. Yeah just a six man, with no titles currently on the line. Let’s get to it. Here is the Bloodline to get things going. Paul Heyman handles Roman Reigns’ introduction and Reigns himself tells North Carolina to acknowledge him….but RKBro runs in to RKO the Usos. Cue Drew McIntyre with Angela the sword, leaving Reigns looking worried. The sword is dropped down so McIntyre gets in, with the Usos and RKBro joining them. Referees come down to break up the fight and we take an early break. Earlier today, Ezekiel met with the Street Profits and had a drink. Kevin Owens (in a Becky Lynch shirt) and Alp..

REVIEW: March To WrestleMania IX: They’re Marching The Wrong Way

Welcome to KB’s Old School (and New School) Reviews. I’ve been reviewing wrestling shows for over twelve years now and have reviewed over 6,000 shows. Every Monday, Wednesday and Friday, I’ll be posting a new review here on Wrestlingrumors.net. It could be anything from modern WWE to old school to indies to anything in between. Note that I rate using letters instead of stars and I don’t rate matches under three minutes as really, how good or bad can something that short be? March To Wrestlemania IX Date: March 28, 1993 Location: Cumberland County Memorial Auditorium, Fayetteville, North Carolina Commentators: Vince McMahon, Bobby Heenan I don’t know how but the last three of these that I’ve picked at random have all been full shows. This time around it’s….well I think the name speaks for itself in this case. We’re about a week away from Wrestlemania IX and we get to see some glorified warmup matches. Let’s get to it. We start with the contract signing between Yokozuna and Bret Hart ..

SmackDown Results – March 18, 2022

Smackdown Date: March 18, 2022 Location: Spectrum Center, Charlotte, North Carolina Commentators: Pat McAfee, Michael Cole Wrestlemania is two weeks from tomorrow and we have most of the card set. There are still some matches to be made, but most of this show is probably going to be about building on what has already been started. That can make for some successful shows, but the stories need to be good in the first place. Let’s get to it. In memory of Scott Hall. We open with a recap of Roman Reigns attacking Brock Lesnar at Madison Square Garden, leading to Lesnar trying to eat Paul Heyman last week. Here is the Bloodline to get things going. Reigns tells the crowd to acknowledge him before moving on to Lesnar. Hold on though as Heyman interrupts, saying that due to a bad weather pattern, Lesnar is stuck in Canada and will not be here tonight. The fans want Lesnar and Reigns says he wants the same thing. Reigns talks about how he would have smashed Lesnar had be been here but kee..

REVIEW: Clash Of Champions 2019: And Then The Scary Part

Welcome to KB’s Old School (and New School) Reviews. I’ve been reviewing wrestling shows for over twelve years now and have reviewed over 6,000 shows. Every Monday, Wednesday and Friday, I’ll be posting a new review here on Wrestlingrumors.net. It could be anything from modern WWE to old school to indies to anything in between. Note that I rate using letters instead of stars and I don’t rate matches under three minutes as really, how good or bad can something that short be? Clash Of Champions 2019 Date: September 15, 2019 Location: Spectrum Center, Charlotte, North Carolina Commentators: Michael Cole, Renee Young, Corey Graves, Byron Saxton, Tom Phillips Even though titles are an everyday part of wrestling, we have here a full show all about them, because most shows need to have a theme these days. There are a lot of matches crammed onto this show, though thankfully they have moved King of the Ring to Raw tomorrow to save some space. Let’s get to it. I was in the arena for this show..

AEW Rampage Results – January 14, 2022

Rampage Date: January 14, 2022 Location: PNC Arena, Raleigh, North Carolina Commentators: Chris Jericho, Excalibur, Ricky Starks, Taz We are still in Horsemen Country and that means we should be in for another pretty good night. Rampage has found its groove in recent weeks and now it is time for a Tag Team Title match, as the Dark Order gets the first shot against Jurassic Express. Adam Cole is here too so let’s get to it. Opening sequence. Adam Cole vs. Trent Beretta The Best Friends and all of Adam Cole’s friends are here. They trade chops to start until Beretta tosses him down with a suplex. Back up and Beretta is sent to the floor and then into the barricade to put him in trouble for a change. They go inside again with Cole hitting his own suplex before Beretta is tossed right back to the floor. The Panama Sunrise is countered into a backdrop so Cole sends him into the barricade. We take a break and come back with Beretta fighting out of a chinlock. A tornado DDT plants Cole an..

AEW Dynamite Live Coverage And Results – January 12, 2022

Dynamite Date: January 12, 2022 Location: PNC Arena, Raleigh, North Carolina Commentators: Jim Ross, Tony Schiavone, Excalibur It’s time to get a bit more back to normal after last week’s major show. That could mean a few things this week, as AEW has a bit of a strange definition of normal. World Champion Hangman Page is here and we have a showdown between CM Punk and Wardlow, which means MJF will be around too. Let’s get to it. Opening sequence. Here are Adam Cole and ReDragon for a chat. Cole brags about how awesome the three of them are and how he is undefeated in singles action. ReDragon is the baddest team in wrestling….but here are the Young Bucks and Brandon Cutler to interrupt. Cole tries to play peacemaker and they all seem to be friends, because both teams are better than people like the Best Friends. Cue the Best Friends and Orange Cassidy, with Cole calling their music stupid. The fight is on in a hurry but Cole hits Cassidy low. The beatdown is on but Kris Stadtlander ..

Dustin Rhodes Delivers Against Sammy Guevara At AEW ‘Battle Of The Belts’

Dustin Rhodes battled Sammy Guevara for the Interim TNT Championship at AEW Battle of the Belts. The event took place on Saturday, January 8 from the Bojangles Coliseum in Charlotte North Carolina. Though Rhodes came up short in his bid to become champion, he once again proved his worth to the company. He turned in a performance that hooked the audience and reminded fans of just how good he is. Dustin Rhodes has found the fountain of youth and it was evident in this match. [This post contains video, click to play] Answering the Call Oddly enough, Rhodes had nothing to do with the TNT Championship heading into January 8. For the most part, he works the occasional match on TV and he contributes behind the scenes wherever AEW needs him. But the company doesn’t often feature him in prime main event spots. However when the time comes to step up, that’s exactly what The Natural does. Dustin Rhodes answered the call to replace his brother Cody in the TNT title match at Battle of the Bel..

AEW Battle Of The Belts Results

Battle of the Belts Date: January 8, 2022 Location: Bojangles Coliseum, Charlotte, North Carolina Commentators: Jim Ross, Tony Schiavone, Excalibur It’s the first of AEW’s quarterly specials but I’m assuming they couldn’t get the rights to Clash Of Champions. This show is all about the titles, with three championships on the line. One of them is a new title, as Cody Rhodes’ medical issues means we need an Interim TNT Title. Let’s get to it. Interim TNT Title: Dustin Rhodes vs. Sammy Guevara This is a new title as TNT Champion Cody Rhodes is missing due to Coronavirus issues. Arn Anderson is here with Dustin. Respect is shown and it’s an armdrag to take Sammy down. That’s fine with Guevara, who grabs a hiptoss but gets kicked away to give us a standoff. They run the ropes and Dustin needs a breather so Sammy flips over him a few times before knocking Dustin outside. A whip into the barricade rocks Dustin again but he’s back with more chops. There’s a piledriver on the floor to leave ..

AEW Rampage Results – December 25, 2021

Rampage Date: December 25, 2021 Location: Greensboro Coliseum, Greensboro, North Carolina Commentators: Excalibur, Tony Schiavone, Ricky Starks It’s a Christmas special and this week will be headlined by a pretty big title match. The show’s main event will feature TNT Champion Sammy Guevara defending against Cody Rhodes, who is looking to become the first three time TNT Champion. Other than that, Hook has his second televised match, which should be interesting. Let’s get to it. Opening sequence. Jungle Boy vs. Isaiah Kassidy Luchasaurus, Christian Cage, Marq Quen and Matt Hardy are all here too. Jungle shoulders him down to start but Kassidy sends him into the corner for some kicks to the face. Back up and Jungle starts sliding around, only to get caught with a springboard Stunner to send him outside. The big running corkscrew dive takes Jungle down again and it’s a slingshot hilo for one back inside. Hardy sneaks in a right hand from the floor, allowing Kassidy to hit a basement dr..

AEW Dynamite Results – December 22, 2021 (Holiday Bash)

Dynamite Date: December 22, 2021 Location: Greensboro Coliseum, Greensboro, North Carolina Commentators: Excalibur, Tony Schiavone, Taz We’re back with yet another special show, this time in the form of Holiday Bash. That should make for another big card, though this time around the major draw is Sting being back in Greensboro. I’m still not sure why that should matter to anyone but the live audience, though seeing Sting team with CM Punk and Darby Allin against MJF and FTR should be fun. Let’s get to it. Opening sequence. Orange Cassidy vs. Adam Cole They stare each other down to start and trade headlock takeovers. Cassidy grabs a rollup for two and it’s right back to the mat, with Cassidy bouncing out of a headscissors. Cole kicks him down again and grabs a chinlock as they keep fighting for minor victories to start. Cassidy fights up again and grabs some rollups for two each. Back up and Cole hits a Backstabber out of the corner, setting up a hard whip into another corner to put ..

REVIEW: No Mercy 2006: All Hail

Welcome to KB’s Old School (and New School) Reviews. I’ve been reviewing wrestling shows for over twelve years now and have reviewed over 6,000 shows. Every Monday, Wednesday and Friday, I’ll be posting a new review here on Wrestlingrumors.net. It could be anything from modern WWE to old school to indies to anything in between. No Mercy 2006 Date: October 8, 2006 Location: RBC Arena, Raleigh, North Carolina Attendance: 9,000 Commentators: Michael Cole, John Bradshaw Layfield We’re back to the pay per views and this time around it’s another pretty low level one with one of the weaker Smackdown shows. The main event, as of two days ago, is now a four way with King Booker defending his title against Finlay, Batista and Bobby Lashley. Other than that we have Chavo Guerrero vs. Rey Mysterio in a Falls Count Anywhere match as the second bigges..

LOOK: Wyatt Family Reunites Over The Weekend

Good to see you again. Stables can be a fascinating concept in wrestling because there are so many people put together all at once. It can make for a nice collection of talent being able to showcase themselves all at once, which opens up some doors. At the same time though, it can be quite the hit when a stable splits up. Not all splits are permanent though, and we saw a pretty cool reunion over the weekend. The WrestleCade convention took place over the weekend in North Carolina. Both Adam Scherr and Erick Redbeard, formerly known as Braun Strowman and Erick Rowan, were at the convention and posed together for a photo. The two were part of the Wyatt Family in WWE but both were released from the company in the last two years. Neither have been signed to a major promotion. Family!!! pic.twitter.com/M4deo2BJZ7 — Adam Scherr (@Adamscherr99) November 28, 2021 The team was quite good together.
