SmackDown Results – October 14, 2022
Smackdown Date: October 14, 2022 Location: Smoothie King Center, New Orleans, Louisiana Commentators: Wade Barrett, Michael Cole We’re on the road to Crown Jewel but this is going to be the Bray Wyatt Show. After not appearing on Monday Night Raw Wyatt is advertised for this week’s show, meaning we might get an idea of what the new version will be like. Other than that, we find out the new #1 contender to the Intercontinental Title so let’s get to it. We open with Scarlett and Karrion Kross having been in a car wreck outside the arena and barely able to walk. Drew McIntyre runs up and jumps Kross, ramming him into the side of a truck over and over, with the trunk being dented. The door is slammed on Kross and referees break it up, with McIntyre shouting that this is just the beginning. Opening sequence. Kofi Kingston vs. Sami Zayn Before the match, New Day talks about the Usos challenging their Tag Team Title reign. We cut to the back where Jey Uso isn’t happy with Sami Zayn. The p..

It’s Never Too Early: Possible News On 2023 Royal Rumble
Pack your bags. We are still fresh off of WrestleMania 38, to the point where WWE’s followup pay per view is called WrestleMania Backlash. WWE focuses a lot of its year around WrestleMania, but the Road To WrestleMania often begins at the Royal Rumble. Now we might know what we will be seeing for the next Royal Rumble, which might be heading for the big city. According to Fightful Select, the Alamodome in San Antonio, Texas is the current favorite to host the 2023 Royal Rumble. If the Royal Rumble is held in the Alamodome, it would be the third time that the venue has hosted the show, following 1997 and 2017, plus the fourth time the city of San Antonio has hosted, including 2007. New Orleans and Seattle are also interested in hosting the event, though WWE has yet to make an announcement on the venue. Opinion: This is one of those things that doesn’t seem all that interesting but can make for some fun moments. There is something about seeing where the shows might be going that can gi..

AEW Dynamite Live Coverage And Results – April 13, 2022
Dynamite Date: April 13, 2022 Location: UNO Lakefront Arena, New Orleans, Louisiana Commentators: Excalibur, Jim Ross, Tony Schiavone It’s the start of a big week around here as we are on the third of five shows. There are some important matches set up for this card and there is a good chance that we could be in for a fun one. If nothing else, they are coming in off a white hot main event last week so hopefully they can keep up the momentum. Let’s get to it. Opening sequence. CM Punk vs. Penta Obscuro Alex Abrahantes is here with Penta. Punk isn’t overly intimidated by Obscuro’s entrance and they stare each other down to start. That goes into the big chop off, with the fans getting right into this as soon as they get going. A superkick staggers Punk but he kicks Penta in the ribs to cut him off. Punk strikes away as commentary runs down tonight’s card, including Samoa Joe vs. Minoru Suzuki. The GTS is countered into an ankle lock and Punk gets sent to the floor. Some suicide dives t..

REVIEW: WrestleMania 34: When Reigns Met Lesnar
Welcome to KB’s Old School (and New School) Reviews. I’ve been reviewing wrestling shows for over twelve years now and have reviewed over 6,000 shows. Every Monday, Wednesday and Friday, I’ll be posting a new review here on Wrestlingrumors.net. It could be anything from modern WWE to old school to indies to anything in between. Note that I rate using letters instead of stars and I don’t rate matches under three minutes as really, how good or bad can something that short be? Wrestlemania XXXIV Date: April 8, 2018 Location: Mercedes-Benz Superdome, New Orleans, Louisiana Attendance: 78,133 Commentators: Michael Cole, Corey Graves, Jonathan Coachman, Tom Phillips, Byron Saxton America the Beautiful: Chloe x Hallie I’m not sure if it’s because I was in the stadium last year or something else, but this show was actually a bit more memorable than the previous few editions. Hopefully it’s just as good watching it back but you never can tell with these things. Brock Lesnar is defending the U..

SmackDown Results – February 18, 2022
Smackdown Date: February 18, 2022 Location: Smoothie King Center, New Orleans, Louisiana Commentators: Corey Graves, Michael Cole We’re taped this week as the roster is in Saudi Arabia for this weekend’s Elimination Chamber. That can make for some interesting shows as the crowd might have to be brought into things a bit more. It’s also the go home show for Elimination Chamber, meaning we are probably in for a lot of hype. Let’s get to it. Opening sequence. Adam Pearce is in the ring for a contract signing for Charlotte/Sonya Deville vs. Ronda Rousey/Naomi. Everyone comes to the ring and Sonya says she knows how to do this. They immediately start arguing and yelling over each other, because that’s how women interact in WWE. Sonya and Charlotte both sign but Naomi threatens to turn the table over if they don’t stop stalling. Hold on though because Sonya has a stipulation. A few days ago, Rousey said that she could beat Sonya with one arm tied behind her back, so that’s what she is go..

SmackDown Results – February 11, 2022
Smackdown Date: February 11, 2022 Location: Smoothie King Center, New Orleans, Louisiana Commentators: Corey Graves, Michael Cole We have less than ten days before Elimination Chamber and the only big thing on the Smackdown side is Goldberg vs. Roman Reigns. That might not sound too appealing, but that’s what the people paying for Elimination Chamber want to see. Other than that, we have the fallout from Ronda Rousey destroying Sonya Deville and choosing to face Charlotte at Wrestlemania. Let’s get to it. We open with a recap of Ronda Rousey picking Charlotte for Wrestlemania and also taking out Sonya Deville for a bonus. Here is Sonya Deville, with her arm in a sling, to say she is tired of people disrespecting her. There will be consequences for the actions of people like Ronda Rousey and Naomi. Therefore, she has requested that Rousey be fined $100,000 and suspended indefinitely. Cue Adam Pearce to say Vince McMahon has responded to her request via email. Said email says that Vi..

Monday Nitro #284 Date: February 26, 2001 Location: Lakefront Arena, New Orleans, Louisiana Commentators: Tony Schiavone, Scott Hudson We had a pretty good show on Wednesday so maybe we’re in for something a bit better than usual this week. The big story is Diamond Dallas Page as the latest great hope against the Magnificent Seven and at least the big match should be better than the mess of Steiner vs. Nash. Let’s get to it. We open with Kronik having been laid out in the back and Doug Dillinger accusing Totally ..

Impact Wrestling vs. Lucha Underground Date: April 6, 2018 Location: Sugar Mill, New Orleans, Louisiana Attendance: 1,400 Commentators: Josh Matthews, Matt Striker Now this is something that caught my eye as soon as it popped onto the schedule. Lucha Underground doesn’t get a lot of play outside of its own universe so having it come somewhere else could be interesting. On top of that, given how many of its wrestlers wrestle for Impact as well, I wasn’t sure what to expect. Just please be more like Lucha Undergroun..

The show was a lot of fun in person and it should be interesting to see how it holds up. Let’s get to it. The intr..

With the nothing Fastlane coming up, Bryan is going to need a challenger. Let’s get to it. Shane McMahon comes out but during his entrance, let’s go to the video on the Elimination Chamber match. Back in the arena, Shane brings up the NXT names who made their debuts last night. They impressed him so much last night that they’re going to be here tonight as well. Monday Night Raw Results – September 10, 2018
Monday Night Raw Date: September 10, 2018 Location: Smoothie King Center, New Orleans, Louisiana Commentators: Renee Young, Michael Cole, Corey Graves It’s the go home show for Hell in a Cell, though I’m not sure how much attention that is going to get since we’re about a month away from Super Show-Down and a month and a half away from Evolution. WWE doesn’t seem to mind about going that far into the future so Sunday might not get the most attention. Let’s get to it. Here are Dolph Ziggler, Drew McIntyre and Braun Strowman to open things up with the roster (the lower portions of it that is) around the ring. Dolph says we told you so because they beat the Shield down. We get a recap of Strowman vs. Reigns, which has morphed into the trio vs. the Shield. This led up to last week’s huge beatdown, with most of the roster getting together to wreck the Shield, with Seth Rollins nearly being thrown through a police van window. Back in the arena, Strowman calls Ziggler and McIntyre his Dogs..

Trent Seven Provides His Opinion On WWE Looking To Expand Into The UK
WWE Superstar Trent Seven spoke with The Mirror ahead of the UK Championship Tournament where he provided his opinion on the company’s expansion to the UK and Toni Storm reportedly being signed. Seven first spoke about wanting to earn a spot on an NXT TakeOver event. He aims to capture the NXT Tag Team Championship alongside former WWE UK Champion Tyler Bate: “Yeah absolutely. The competition for those spots is obviously at a standard – it’s undeniable – it’s at a standard that has never been seen before. It’s literally a who’s who of professional wrestling over the last few years at one of those shows and at NXT TakeOver: New Orleans, every single person delivered, well above and beyond what I think anyone ever expected. It was an incredible show. The goal has got to be that. If you’re here to take part, then that’s great, but realistically, this is the future of the industry, NXT is the future of professional wrestling, it is the future of the WWE, it’s where the stars are born and ..

Reason Why Ronda Rousey Hasn’t Had Singles Matches Yet
Before her match at WrestleMania 34, the WWE Universe had a lot of questions about Ronda Rousey being able to perform inside the squared circle. Most people are curious how Rousey will perform in a singles matches after stealing the show in New Orleans. The expectation was she’d wrestle Mickie James during WWE’s European tour, but she’s been booked for tag team matches instead. According to the Wrestling Observer Radio, the reason why WWE officials made those changes are due to Ronda’s in-ring ability. Related: Why Ronda Rousey vs. Nia Jax Is Happening Now Apparently, the powers that be don’t believe the former UFC Bantamweight Champion is ready for singles matches. A lot of people are going to question why Rousey is receiving a Raw Women’s Title Match with Nia Jax at the Money in the Bank PPV if she’s not ready for singles matches with Mickie James during the European tour. With such a big match coming in only a few weeks on PPV, WWE officials may want to hold off on her first sing..

Adam Cole Talks His Friendship With Kyle O'Reilly, Bobby Fish & Roderick Strong, And Goes Over His Eventful NXT TakeOver: NOLA
Its all about The Undisputed Era. To kick-start WrestleMania weekend for the WWE there was a Ladder match to open NXT TakeOver: New Orleans to crown the first-ever NXT North American Champion. At the end of the contest the sly Adam Cole pushed the ladder that Ricochet was standing atop on, crushing the dreams of the "The One And Only". Cole climbed to the top of the ladder and pulled down the championship as the thousands in attendance inside of the Smoothie King Center went ballistic for "The Panama City Playboy." Later on in the night Adam Cole had to help his faction-mate Kyle O'Reilly defend the NXT Tag Team Championships and in a shocking turn of events, Roderick Strong pledged his allegiance to The Undisputed Era by turning on his partner in the match Pete Dunne, and handing over the NXT Tag Titles on a silver plater to Kyle O'Reilly and Adam Cole.
