REVIEW: NXT TakeOver: R-Evolution: The Future Is Then

Welcome to KB’s Old School (and New School) Reviews. I’ve been reviewing wrestling shows for over ten years now and have reviewed over 5,000 shows. Every Monday, Wednesday and Friday, I’ll be posting a new review here on Wrestlingrumors.net, starting today. It could be anything from modern WWE to old school to indies to anything in between. Note that I rate using letters instead of stars and I don’t rate matches under three minutes as really, how good or bad can something that short be? NXT Takeover: R-Evolution Date: December 11, 2014 Location: Full Sail University, Winter Park, Florida Attendance: 400 Commentators: Rich Brennan, Alex Riley, Corey Graves This should be a big one as we have a huge showdown in the main event for the NXT Title with Sami Zayn getting his rematch against champion Adrian Neville after a screwy finish to their last match. Other than that we have the long awaited debut of Kevin Owens and Hideo Itami teaming with Finn Balor to face the Ascension. Let’s get t..

REVIEW: NXT Takeover: Fatal 4 Way: The Sequel

Welcome to KB’s Old School (and New School) Reviews. I’ve been reviewing wrestling shows for over twelve years now and have reviewed over 6,000 shows. Every Monday, Wednesday and Friday, I’ll be posting a new review here on Wrestlingrumors.net. It could be anything from modern WWE to old school to indies to anything in between. Note that I rate using letters instead of stars and I don’t rate matches under three minutes as really, how good or bad can something that short be? NXT Takeover: Fatal Fourway Date: September 11, 2014 Location: Full Sail University, Winter Park, Florida Attendance: 400 Commentators: Tom Phillips, Byron Saxton, Renee Young The question here is can they pull it off three times in a row. Arrival and the first Takeover were both outstanding shows that have set quite the standard for NXT, but now it’s up to them to pull it off one more time. The title tells you all you need to know about the main event with NXT Champion Adrian Neville defending against Sami Zayn, ..

REVIEW: Great Balls Of Fire: Mediocre Gracious

Welcome to KB’s Old School (and New School) Reviews. I’ve been reviewing wrestling shows for over ten years now and have reviewed over 5,000 shows. Great Balls of Fire Date: July 9, 2017 Location: American Airlines Center, Dallas, Texas Commentators: Michael Cole, Booker T., Corey Graves It’s time for the most oddly named pay per view in a long time and yes they’re actually going to call it this. Brock Lesnar is getting back in the ring for the first time since Wrestlemania to defend the Universal Title against Samoa Joe. This has the potential to be a war and that’s what the title needs. Let’s get to it. Kickoff Show: Cruiserweight Title: Neville vs. Akira Toz..

Neville Discusses Competing In The USA, Feelings On Enzo Amore, Vince McMahon, More

Former WWE superstar Neville, now known as a PAC, recently held a Q&A session on his Instagram account. Below are some questions, along with Neville’s answers: If he would you ever go to NJPW: “I’d love to carry on destroying the roster up there but I’m focused on Dragon Gate. “ If there are any USA companies he’s interested in working with: “No.” How was Vince [McMahon]: “Powerful man won’t say much though he’d sue me 4 times in a row.” How long would Enzo last in a real fight: “It wasn’t really Enzo why I left, I don’t hate the lad. He was just annoying backstage and putting the title on him was bad, especially beating me. I was worth more than being jobbed out to jobbers, so that’s why I left.” His best NXT match: “Me and Sami for the title.” [This post contains video, click to play] If he hates WWE: “No, they gave me the opportunity to shine and shine I did. The lads over there are great but they ran out of ideas for me, so I left.” If he thinks he can beat Brock Le..

Backstage News On Why WWE Refused To Release Neville

Breaking orbit and precedence. One of the more interesting sagas of the year in WWE has been Neville’s contract status. He walked out on the promotion late last year and hasn’t made an appearance ever since. Last week it was reported that Neville had been released, which makes you wonder why it took him so long to be released from the company. It turns out there is a pretty simple reason. According to the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Neville’s contract was frozen for the sake of not allowing a precedent to be set of people walking out and then being released from their contract, allowing them to wrestle anywhere. Neville was rumored to be going to New Japan Pro Wrestling when he originally walked out, though there is no word on if there is any interest from New Japan. Neville is now allowed to wrestle anywhere he likes. Here’s one of Neville’s final appearances, when he was still awesome. [This post contains video, click to play] Opinion: I understand why this is the case but it..
