SmackDown Results – October 14, 2022

Smackdown Date: October 14, 2022 Location: Smoothie King Center, New Orleans, Louisiana Commentators: Wade Barrett, Michael Cole We’re on the road to Crown Jewel but this is going to be the Bray Wyatt Show. After not appearing on Monday Night Raw Wyatt is advertised for this week’s show, meaning we might get an idea of what the new version will be like. Other than that, we find out the new #1 contender to the Intercontinental Title so let’s get to it. We open with Scarlett and Karrion Kross having been in a car wreck outside the arena and barely able to walk. Drew McIntyre runs up and jumps Kross, ramming him into the side of a truck over and over, with the trunk being dented. The door is slammed on Kross and referees break it up, with McIntyre shouting that this is just the beginning. Opening sequence. Kofi Kingston vs. Sami Zayn Before the match, New Day talks about the Usos challenging their Tag Team Title reign. We cut to the back where Jey Uso isn’t happy with Sami Zayn. The p..

SmackDown Live Coverage And Results – June 10, 2022

Smackdown Date: June 10, 2022 Location: Raising Cane’s River Center Arena, Baton Rouge, Louisiana Commentators: Michael Cole, Pat McAfee It’s officially Money In The Bank season and that means we need to have some qualifying matches. Maybe they can even play the theme song fourteen times. Other than that, we might get to hear about something related to Roman Reigns wrestling again sometime in the future. But probably not. Let’s get to it. Commentary hypes up tonight’s historic show. Money In The Bank Qualifying Match: Sheamus vs. Drew McIntyre In the back, McIntyre throws Butch around and says he’ll see Sheamus out there. They hit each other hard to start with McIntyre getting the better of it off some chops. A Michinoku Driver gives Drew two but Sheamus sends him to the apron for the forearms to the chest. That’s reversed so Drew can hit his own, only to have Butch offer a distraction. Something like White Noise on the apron drops McIntyre and we take a break. Back with Sheamus hi..

AEW Dynamite Live Coverage And Results – April 13, 2022

Dynamite Date: April 13, 2022 Location: UNO Lakefront Arena, New Orleans, Louisiana Commentators: Excalibur, Jim Ross, Tony Schiavone It’s the start of a big week around here as we are on the third of five shows. There are some important matches set up for this card and there is a good chance that we could be in for a fun one. If nothing else, they are coming in off a white hot main event last week so hopefully they can keep up the momentum. Let’s get to it. Opening sequence. CM Punk vs. Penta Obscuro Alex Abrahantes is here with Penta. Punk isn’t overly intimidated by Obscuro’s entrance and they stare each other down to start. That goes into the big chop off, with the fans getting right into this as soon as they get going. A superkick staggers Punk but he kicks Penta in the ribs to cut him off. Punk strikes away as commentary runs down tonight’s card, including Samoa Joe vs. Minoru Suzuki. The GTS is countered into an ankle lock and Punk gets sent to the floor. Some suicide dives t..

REVIEW: WrestleMania 34: When Reigns Met Lesnar

Welcome to KB’s Old School (and New School) Reviews. I’ve been reviewing wrestling shows for over twelve years now and have reviewed over 6,000 shows. Every Monday, Wednesday and Friday, I’ll be posting a new review here on Wrestlingrumors.net. It could be anything from modern WWE to old school to indies to anything in between. Note that I rate using letters instead of stars and I don’t rate matches under three minutes as really, how good or bad can something that short be? Wrestlemania XXXIV Date: April 8, 2018 Location: Mercedes-Benz Superdome, New Orleans, Louisiana Attendance: 78,133 Commentators: Michael Cole, Corey Graves, Jonathan Coachman, Tom Phillips, Byron Saxton America the Beautiful: Chloe x Hallie I’m not sure if it’s because I was in the stadium last year or something else, but this show was actually a bit more memorable than the previous few editions. Hopefully it’s just as good watching it back but you never can tell with these things. Brock Lesnar is defending the U..

Impact Wrestling Results – March 3, 2022

Impact Wrestling Date: March 3, 2022 Location: Alario Center, Westwego, Louisiana Commentators: Matthew Rehwoldt, Tom Hannifan Somehow it’s already the go home show for Sacrifice and the card is mostly set. The big match on the show seems to be the Tag Team Title match as Moose defending the World Title against Heath is only so important. Odds are they will add one or two more things to the card tonight so let’s get to it. Opening recap. Opening sequence. Eddie Edwards vs. Steve Maclin Maclin starts the brawl in the aisle and they slug it out, with Maclin hitting a running knee. They go inside for the opening bell and Maclin punches him right back to the floor, setting up a hard suicide dive. Back in and Eddie grabs a Blue Thunder Bomb to take over but they trade running forearms for a double knockdown. They slug it out until Maclin hits a running clothesline but Eddie catches him on top with a running boot. Maclin knocks him into the Tree of Woe and hits the spear in the corner to..

Impact Wrestling Results – February 24, 2022

Impact Wrestling Date: February 24, 2022 Location: Alario Center, Westwego, Louisiana Commentators: Matthew Rehwoldt, Tom Hannifan It’s time for a fresh taping cycle as No Surrender has come and gone. The big story coming out of the show was Eddie Edwards turning on Impact Wrestling to join Honor No More, meaning he has a lot of splainin to do. Other than that, Moose needs a new challenger for Sacrifice on the way to Rebellion. Let’s get to it. The opening recap looks at the rise of Honor No More and the big showdown at No Surrender, where Eddie Edwards turned on the company. Opening sequence. Here is still World Champion Moose for a chat. Moose isn’t happy that he has worked so hard and fought so much but now all everyone is talking about is Eddie Edwards. He fought to retain the World Title and nothing changed. Look what happened to people like Josh Alexander and Matt Cardona after he beat them. The Lord knows what is going to happen to W. Morrissey now that he lost. Cue Heath o..

SmackDown Results – February 18, 2022

Smackdown Date: February 18, 2022 Location: Smoothie King Center, New Orleans, Louisiana Commentators: Corey Graves, Michael Cole We’re taped this week as the roster is in Saudi Arabia for this weekend’s Elimination Chamber. That can make for some interesting shows as the crowd might have to be brought into things a bit more. It’s also the go home show for Elimination Chamber, meaning we are probably in for a lot of hype. Let’s get to it. Opening sequence. Adam Pearce is in the ring for a contract signing for Charlotte/Sonya Deville vs. Ronda Rousey/Naomi. Everyone comes to the ring and Sonya says she knows how to do this. They immediately start arguing and yelling over each other, because that’s how women interact in WWE. Sonya and Charlotte both sign but Naomi threatens to turn the table over if they don’t stop stalling. Hold on though because Sonya has a stipulation. A few days ago, Rousey said that she could beat Sonya with one arm tied behind her back, so that’s what she is go..

SmackDown Results – February 11, 2022

Smackdown Date: February 11, 2022 Location: Smoothie King Center, New Orleans, Louisiana Commentators: Corey Graves, Michael Cole We have less than ten days before Elimination Chamber and the only big thing on the Smackdown side is Goldberg vs. Roman Reigns. That might not sound too appealing, but that’s what the people paying for Elimination Chamber want to see. Other than that, we have the fallout from Ronda Rousey destroying Sonya Deville and choosing to face Charlotte at Wrestlemania. Let’s get to it. We open with a recap of Ronda Rousey picking Charlotte for Wrestlemania and also taking out Sonya Deville for a bonus. Here is Sonya Deville, with her arm in a sling, to say she is tired of people disrespecting her. There will be consequences for the actions of people like Ronda Rousey and Naomi. Therefore, she has requested that Rousey be fined $100,000 and suspended indefinitely. Cue Adam Pearce to say Vince McMahon has responded to her request via email. Said email says that Vi..

REVIEW: WCW Monday Nitro – February 26, 2001: They’re Getting Close

Welcome to KB’s Old School (and New School) Reviews. I’ve been reviewing wrestling shows for over twelve years now and have reviewed over 6,000 shows. Every Monday, Wednesday and Friday, I’ll be posting a new review here on Wrestlingrumors.net. It could be anything from modern WWE to old school to indies to anything in between. Note that I rate using letters instead of stars and I don’t rate matches under three minutes as really, how good or bad can something that short be? Monday Nitro #284 Date: February 26, 2001 Location: Lakefront Arena, New Orleans, Louisiana Commentators: Tony Schiavone, Scott Hudson We had a pretty good show on Wednesday so maybe we’re in for something a bit better than usual this week. The big story is Diamond Dallas Page as the latest great hope against the Magnificent Seven and at least the big match should be better than the mess of Steiner vs. Nash. Let’s get to it. We open with Kronik having been laid out in the back and Doug Dillinger accusing Totally ..

REVIEW: Impact Wrestling vs. Lucha Underground: It Must Be Someone’s Dream Shot

Impact Wrestling vs. Lucha Underground Date: April 6, 2018 Location: Sugar Mill, New Orleans, Louisiana Attendance: 1,400 Commentators: Josh Matthews, Matt Striker Now this is something that caught my eye as soon as it popped onto the schedule. Lucha Underground doesn’t get a lot of play outside of its own universe so having it come somewhere else could be interesting. On top of that, given how many of its wrestlers wrestle for Impact as well, I wasn’t sure what to expect. Just please be more like Lucha Undergroun..

REVIEW: Rev Pro: New Orleans: From The Other Side

Welcome to KB’s Old School (and New School) Reviews. I’ve been reviewing wrestling shows for over ten years now and have reviewed over 5,000 shows. Every Monday, Wednesday and Friday, I’ll be posting a new review here on Wrestlingrumors.net, starting today. It could be anything from modern WWE to old school to indies to anything in between. Note that I rate using letters instead of stars and I don’t rate matches under three minutes as really, how good or bad can something that short be? Rev Pro: New Orleans Date: April 6, 2018 Location: Sugar Mill, New Orleans, Louisiana Attendance: 1,200 Commentators: Andy Quildan, Joe Dombrowski This is another show I got to attend during Wrestlemania weekend after doing the same the previous year. Rev Pro is a British organization which brings in a lot of foreigners for their shows and puts on a heck of a product from what I’ve seen. The show was a lot of fun in person and it should be interesting to see how it holds up. Let’s get to it. The intr..

SmackDown Live Coverage And Results – August 27, 2019

Smackdown Date: August 27, 2019 Location: Raising Cane’s River Center, Baton Rouge, Louisiana Commentators: Corey Graves, Tom Phillips, Byron Saxton The first round of the King of the Ring wraps up tonight and it’s getting pretty clear that Raw is the favored side. The talent pool just feels deeper over there as this show is going to include Shelton Benjamin getting a first round match. Maybe that would have been interesting fifteen years ago but it doesn’t quite work right now. Let’s get to it. We open with the same video on Roman Reigns’ attacks that we saw last night. Reigns promises a response to Daniel Bryan and Erick Rowan in the ring tonight. Here’s Kofi Kingston for a chat, but first we see a video on Randy Orton’s attacks since Summerslam. Kofi has heard Orton calling him stupid but who got knocked out last week? Now Orton is trying to turn this personal and he’s bringing in the Revival to help him out. That means Orton is seeing the look when you mess with Kofi’s family s..

SmackDown Live Coverage And Results – February 19, 2019

Smackdown Date: February 19, 2019 Location: Smoothie King Center, New Orleans, Louisiana Commentators: Tom Phillips, Corey Graves, Byron Saxton Kofi Kingston! Rhythmic Clapping! Sunday’s Elimination Chamber match for the Smackdown World Title was one of the most dramatic moments WWE has presented in years. Kingston was on the verge of becoming WWE Champion and while he came up short, the question now is can he actually pull off the upset. With the nothing Fastlane coming up, Bryan is going to need a challenger. Let’s get to it. Shane McMahon comes out but during his entrance, let’s go to the video on the Elimination Chamber match. Back in the arena, Shane brings up the NXT names who made their debuts last night. They impressed him so much last night that they’re going to be here tonight as well. Cue Miz to interrupt, saying that he hasn’t slept in two days because of the guilt he’s feeling over Sunday’s loss. Miz admits to using Shane to make his dad proud and then Shane brought his ..

Monday Night Raw Live Coverage And Results – February 18, 2019

Monday Night Raw Date: February 18, 2019 Location: Cajundome, Lafayette, Louisiana Commentators: Michael Cole, Corey Graves, Renee Young We’re done with Elimination Chamber but since March is a work month, we have less than three weeks before Fastlane. I have no idea what they’re supposed to do to headline Fastlane if Becky Lynch is currently suspended and Seth Rollins is being held out of the ring, but there’s a good chance they could drop the suspension so she can face Charlotte. They’ve done faster turnarounds before. Let’s get to it. In Memory Of Pedro Morales. Here’s HHH top open things up. HHH says it’s that time of year and we’re on the Road to Wrestlemania. The last twenty four hours should be proof of how important this time is with stuff like Sasha Banks and Bayley becoming the first ever WWE Women’s Tag Team Champions. Or Finn Balor winning the Intercontinental Title. Or Kofi Kingston getting that close to winning the WWE Championship. The fans like that more than anythin..

Monday Night Raw Results – September 10, 2018

Monday Night Raw Date: September 10, 2018 Location: Smoothie King Center, New Orleans, Louisiana Commentators: Renee Young, Michael Cole, Corey Graves It’s the go home show for Hell in a Cell, though I’m not sure how much attention that is going to get since we’re about a month away from Super Show-Down and a month and a half away from Evolution. WWE doesn’t seem to mind about going that far into the future so Sunday might not get the most attention. Let’s get to it. Here are Dolph Ziggler, Drew McIntyre and Braun Strowman to open things up with the roster (the lower portions of it that is) around the ring. Dolph says we told you so because they beat the Shield down. We get a recap of Strowman vs. Reigns, which has morphed into the trio vs. the Shield. This led up to last week’s huge beatdown, with most of the roster getting together to wreck the Shield, with Seth Rollins nearly being thrown through a police van window. Back in the arena, Strowman calls Ziggler and McIntyre his Dogs..

Bray Wyatt Not Trying to Hide His Relationship with JoJo Anymore

<p>As previously reported, <strong><a href="http://www.ringsidenews.com/wrestler/bray-wyatt" title="Bray Wyatt">Bray Wyatt</a></strong>’s wife Samantha filed for a divorce from the WWE Superstar after she found out that he was having an affair with WWE ring announcer <strong><a href="http://www.ringsidenews.com/tag/jo-jo/" title="Jo Jo">Jo Jo</a></strong>. The <strong><a href="http://www.ringsidenews.com/tag/story/" title="story">story</a></strong> got some main stream attention yesterday, but that didn’t stop the two from arriving together at the Cajundome in Lafayette, Louisiana on Monday for RAW.</p><p></p>

Reason Why Sister Abigail May Never Appear on WWE Television

<p>While appearing on the <a href="http://www.blogtalkradio.com/pro-wrestling-torch" rel="nofollow" target="_blank">PWTorch Livecast</a>, former WWE writer Kevin Eck explain why fans will never see Sister Abigail appear in physical capacity on WWE programming.</p><p><em>“From what I know about how <strong><a href="http://www.ringsidenews.com/wrestler/bray-wyatt" title="Bray Wyatt">Bray Wyatt</a></strong> envisioned that character, I don’t think that character is ever <strong><a href="http://www.ringsidenews.com/tag/going/" title="going">going</a></strong> to be seen, because the way Bray explained it, and I don’t think it’s ever come out on TV. He speaks in riddles, so maybe if you read in-between the lines.”</em></p><p>He continued, <em>“But Bray Wyatt was apparently a young man and Sister Abigail was an old black woman. I believe the swamps of Louisiana who had some supernatural powers and you know the history of voodoo and such in New Orleans. I believe she took him under her wing and kind of taught him the secrets of what she <strong><a href="http://www.ringsidenews.com/tag/knows/" title="knows">knows</a></strong> of the dark arts and things like that.”</em></p><p>Eck asserted that Sister Abigail is a witch-like character and the person who turned Bray Wyatt into what he is today. Eck stated that if WWE goes by Bray’s vision, the fans may not get to see a physical Sister Abigail.</p>
