AEW Rampage Results – March 10, 2023

Rampage Date: March 10, 2023 Location: Golden 1 Center, Sacramento, California Commentators: Tony Schiavone, Excalibur, Chris Jericho, Jim Ross We’re still in California and it’s the fallout Rampage from Revolution. I’m not sure what that is going to mean as you never know what you are going to get on this show. One of the bigger matches announced is Konosuke Takeshita vs. Preston Vance in a match Takeshita could actually win. Let’s get to it. Opening sequence. Sammy Guevara vs. Action Andretti Guevara is more than a bit cocky to start so Andretti takes him down and starts hammering away. Andretti sends him outside and into the steps, setting up a dropkick and moonsault for two back inside. They head outside again with Guevara getting the better of things for a change. Back up and Andretti sends him outside again for a dive and we take a break. We come back with a midair collision leaving both of them down. They slug it out with Andretti hitting a backbreaker into a neckbreaker to ..

AEW Revolution 2023 Results

Revolution 2023 Date: March 5, 2023 Location: Chase Center, San Francisco, California Commentators: Excalibur, Taz, Jim Ross We’re back with another AEW pay per view and that should mean something really good. The television shows haven’t been the strongest in recent weeks but that has never stopped the pay per views from being special. The main event will feature MJF defending the World Title against Bryan Danielson in an Iron Man match, which should be…uh, long. Let’s get to it. Zero Hour: Lucha Bros/Mark Briscoe vs. Varsity Athletes/Ari Daivari Mark Sterling are here with the Varsity Athletes (Tony Nese/Josh Woods) and Daivari. Nese poses at Penta to start but Penta is right back with CERO MIEDO. All six come in to strike it out with Penta and Nese being left alone in the ring. Made In Penta gives Penta a quick two before Daivari has to save Sterling. The villains take over on Penta by whipping him into the corner and Woods adds a suplex for two. The Athletes double suplex Penta ..

AEW Rampage Results – March 3, 2023

Rampage Date: March 3, 2023 Location: Cow Palace, San Francisco, California Commentators: Chris Jericho, Excalibur, Tony Schiavone, Jim Ross It’s the final show before Revolution and that means this week is live. Normally I would say a pay per view card is set two days before the show but AEW has a tendency to throw in a bunch of stuff at the last minute. This week will also see Dustin Rhodes/Keith Lee vs. Mogul Affiliates so let’s get to it. Opening sequence. Aussie Open vs. Claudio Castagnoli/Wheeler Yuta vs. Top Flight vs. Dark Order The Dark Order jumps Castagnoli/Yuta in the aisle to start but Top Flight dives onto all four of them. Aussie Open drives Top Flight together as JR talks about needing to win to get a pay per view pay day. Ross: “Am I right about that?” And he is completely ignored, as that doesn’t seem to be right. We get inside for the bell with Top Flight dropkicking Aussie Open with Davis being knocked to the floor. Reynolds comes in and hits a running elbow on ..

AEW Rampage Results – February 24, 2023

Rampage Date: February 24, 2023 Location: Footprint Center, Phoenix, Arizona Commentators: Jim Ross, Chris Jericho, Excalibur, Tony Schiavone We’re still in the desert and Rampage is still searching for a more viable formula. I’m not sure why AEW seems to punt on this show so often but it does produce some enjoyable results. If you can get by without the star power after the first match, you should be in for a fun one and hopefully that is true this week. Let’s get to it. Opening sequence. Aussie Open vs. Young Bucks Kenny Omega is here with the Bucks. The Aussies deck the Bucks to start and isolate Matt for a kick to the chest and backsplash. Matt manages to backflip away from both of them and brings in Nick to walk the ropes into a wristdrag/headscissors combination. The Bucks clear the ring but the bigger Davis comes back in to slam them both at the same time. Nick’s pop up dropkick sends Davis to the floor though and Matt grabs a running flipping neckbreaker to send Fletcher int..

REVIEW: No Way Out 2000: The Other Cell Match

Welcome to KB’s Old School (and New School) Reviews. I’ve been reviewing wrestling shows for over ten years now and have reviewed over 5,000 shows. Every Monday, Wednesday and Friday, I’ll be posting a new review here on Wrestlingrumors.net. It could be anything from modern WWE to old school to indies to anything in between. Note that I rate using letters instead of stars and I don’t rate matches under three minutes as really, how good or bad can something that short be? No Way Out 2000 Date: February 27, 2000 Location: Hartford Civic Center, Hartford, Connecticut Attendance: 12,551 Commentators: Jim Ross, Jerry Lawler This is more or less about one thing: Hell in a Cell. If Cactus Jack loses, he retires. Other than that there isn’t a lot to talk about. Oh actually there is. At the Rumble, Big Show had been thrown out but claimed that Rock was out first. Tonight there’s a match where the winner goes to Mania. The Radicals are here now also so we have a fully fleshed out roster for th..

AEW Rampage Results – February 17, 2023

Rampage Date: February 17, 2023 Location: Saves Auto Arena, Laredo, Texas Commentators: Jim Ross, Chris Jericho, Tony Schiavone, Excalibur It’s a special show this week with the show on at 7pm instead of the usual 10pm due to the NBA coverage. Therefore the show is call Slam Dunk as AEW stacks the card because it might be able to draw a good bit more fans this week. Hopefully that is the case as Rampage hasn’t felt important in a few weeks now. Let’s get to it. Opening sequence. Trios Titles: Elite vs. AR Fox/Top Flight The Elite is defending and since this is Slam Dunk, there are a lot basketballs as props. Dante and Nick start things off by throwing a basketball at each other. Nick hits Matt in the face with the ball by mistake though and the champs are kicked out to the floor early on. Fox dives onto all of them in a pair of dives and then adds a third with a basketball. Back in and Omega grabs a headlock before running Fox over with a shoulder. The basketball comes back in and ..

AEW Rampage Results – February 10, 2023

Rampage Date: February 10, 2023 Location: County Coliseum, El Paso, Texas Commentators: Jim Ross, Excalibur, Tony Schiavone, Chris Jericho We are still in Texas with less than a month to go before Revolution. That should make for a few interesting weeks but this week’s lineup doesn’t exactly offer much in the way of hope. The Blackpool Combat Club is here though and that is one of the better things Rampage could do. Let’s get to it. Opening sequence. Blackpool Combat Club vs. Butcher and the Blade/Kip Sabian Sabian drives Yuta into the corner to start but a sunset flip gets Yuta out of trouble. Yuta is sent outside and Castagnoli comes in, with Butcher getting to come in as well for the power staredown. They yell at each other and slug it out, with both of them staggering. Moxley and then Yuta come in to take turns on Butcher as Jericho talks about the Impractical Jokers cast stealing his baseball bat. Sabian is able to grab a flipping Stunner on Yuta for a breather and Blade gets ..

Switcheroo: Former Longtime WWE Star Talks Changing Up His In Ring Style

It’s a change. There are all kinds of ways to present a wrestler and some of them work better than others. A slight tweak in how a wrestler comes off can change everything about them, either for good or bad. Occasionally a wrestler with a serious background might want to shake things up a bit and now an established veteran is going to be trying to do just that for himself. IN CASE YOU MISSED IT: King Time: Jim Ross Provides Health Update On Jerry “The King” Lawler Following Stroke Dirty Dango, formerly known as Fandango during his time in WWE, was a guest on the Windy City Slam podcast where he confirmed that he had signed a one year contract to join the Impact Wrestling roster. Dango also talked about wanting to transition to a more serious style rather than his established comedy style. There is no word on how he plans to make such a transition, but he did say he was already enjoying wrestling more serious matches. Dango is a talented star. Check out what he can do in the ring: [..

King Time: Jim Ross Provides Health Update On Jerry “The King” Lawler Following Stroke

That could be worse. There are all kinds of health problems that a wrestler could have throughout their career, with many of them being the same kind of thing that run of the mill people deal with every day. Those are often the more serious ones though and the question becomes how the recovery is going to go. That is the case again, as a wrestling legend is recovering from a health scare. IN CASE YOU MISSED IT: Working On It: Update On WWE’s WrestleMania 39 World Title Plans Earlier this week, news broke that WWE Hall Of Famer Jerry Lawler had undergone a health issue, which has since been confirmed as a stroke. Lawler’s longtime WWE broadcast partner Jim Ross has sent out a tweet, revealing that he spoke with Lawler briefly Tuesday night. Ross said that Lawler’s prognosis was “positive” but did not give any further details. There is no word on when Lawler might be released from the hospital. I spoke very briefly with ?@JerryLawler? tonight. He’s obviously weak but I could understa..

AEW Rampage Results – February 3, 2023

Rampage Date: February 3, 2023 Location: Nutter Center, Dayton, Ohio Commentators: Chris Jericho, Jim Ross, Tony Schiavone, Excalibur Rampage continues to be a bit all over the place as you know most of the card/lineup in advance but it still feels like a show that could go in a bunch of different directions. That could be the case again this week as there is some star power with the Elite around to defend the Trios Titles. Let’s get to it. Opening sequence. Trios Titles: Elite vs. Isiah Kassidy/Matt Hardy/Ethan Page The Elite is defending and for the sake of simplicity, Matt Hardy will be referred to as Hardy and Matt Jackson will be referred to as Matt. Nick Jackson and Kassidy trade some flips and takedowns to start before Matt comes in to take over. Kassidy gets over to Hardy for the tag, so Omega gets the overly dramatic tag. Hardy sends Omega outside and goes up but Page tags himself in to take over instead. Omega snaps off a hurricanrana and it’s the Bucks coming back in for..

AEW Rampage Results – January 27, 2023

Rampage Date: January 27, 2023 Location: Rupp Arena, Lexington, Kentucky Commentators: Jim Ross, Tony Schiavone, Excalibur, Chris Jericho We’re still in Kentucky and in this case that means it’s time for Hangman Page to face Wheeler Yuta on his way to next week’s showdown with Jon Moxley. Other than that, Jamie Hayter is in a Women’s Title eliminator match and we should be in for a treat there. The show continues to be up and down, but maybe they can make it work this week. Let’s get to it. Opening sequence. Hangman Page vs. Wheeler Yuta Yuta knocks him into the corner to start and hammers away. The Octopus has Page in early trouble before Yuta switches to the legs. They trade slaps to the face until Yuta bridges back into a leglock. Page fights up and knocks Yuta down for a change and a fall away slam sends Yuta to the apron. There’s the springboard clothesline to send him outside, setting up a slingshot dive. Page sends him back inside where Yuta hits a very fast dive of his own...

REVIEW: Royal Rumble 2003: When The Rumble Doesn’t Mean As Much

Welcome to KB’s Old School (and New School) Reviews. I’ve been reviewing wrestling shows for over ten years now and have reviewed over 5,000 shows. Every Monday, Wednesday and Friday, I’ll be posting a new review here on Wrestlingrumors.net, starting today. It could be anything from modern WWE to old school to indies to anything in between. Note that I rate using letters instead of stars and I don’t rate matches under three minutes as really, how good or bad can something that short be? Royal Rumble 2003 Date: January 19, 2003 Location: Fleet Center, Boston, Massachusetts Attendance: 15,338 Commentators: Michael Cole, Tazz, Jim Ross, Jerry Lawler This is a really odd entry in the series as the namesake match is being treated as secondary to almost everything else. Really, coming into this show, there’s a good argument to be made that Torrie Wilson vs. Dawn Marie is being treated as a bigger deal than the Rumble itself. Let’s get to it. The opening video is your standard montage of w..

AEW Rampage Reviews – January 20, 2023

Rampage Date: January 20, 2023 Location: Save Mart Center, Fresno, California Commentators: Jim Ross, Excalibur, Tony Schiavone, Chris Jericho We’re still in California and this week’s Dynamite is going to be a bit tough to follow. There is a good chance that we are going to get some solid matches though, as tends to be the case around here. Rampage can be rather fun when it comes to focusing on some of the lower level stuff and that might be what happens again this week. Let’s get to it. Opening sequence. Jungle Boy vs. Ethan Page Isaiah Kassidy, Stokely Hathaway and Matt Hardy are here with Page. Chris Jericho rants about the fans singing along with Jungle Boy’s theme song as Page tries an Ego’s Edge out of the corner to start. That’s broken up and Page is sent to the floor, where he pulls Kassidy in the way of a dive. Back in and Page catches Jungle Boy on top but a dropkick puts him right back down. Hold on though as Hathaway interferes but blames Hardy, allowing Page to whip J..

REVIEW: Raw 25: The Previous Biggest Reunion Ever

Welcome to KB’s Old School (and New School) Reviews. I’ve been reviewing wrestling shows for over ten years now and have reviewed over 5,000 shows. Every Monday, Wednesday and Friday, I’ll be posting a new review here on Wrestlingrumors.net, starting today. It could be anything from modern WWE to old school to indies to anything in between. Note that I rate using letters instead of stars and I don’t rate matches under three minutes as really, how good or bad can something that short be? Monday Night Raw 25th Anniversary Date: January 22, 2018 Location: Manhattan Center, New York City, New York/Barclays Center, New York City, New York Commentators: Michael Cole, Corey Graves, Booker T., Jim Ross, Jerry Lawler Now this is a big night with the show having been build up for several months and a slew of guest stars booked for the night. The show is also being run from two arenas, including the location of the first ever episode. I’m more excited for this than I am for Sunday’s Royal Rumbl..

AEW Rampage Results – January 13, 2023

Rampage Date: January 13, 2023 Location: Kia Forum, Los Angeles, California Commentators: Jim Ross, Excalibur, Tony Schiavone, Chris Jericho We’re still in Los Angeles and you know that is going to mean a big show. I’m not sure what all it is going to entail but that is some of the fun of Rampage. This week’s Dynamite was a strong show so they have a lot to live up to this week. If nothing else, there is a street fight so that means violence. Let’s get to it. Opening sequence. TNT Title: Juice Robinson vs. Darby Allin Allin is defending. Feeling out process to start with Robinson grabbing a waistlock to send the champ to the ropes. A headlock slows Robinson down but he grabs a belly to back suplex to escape. The backsplash only hits knees though and Allin is back with another headlock. This time Robinson sends him up and over the top for a nasty crash to the floor, followed by some whips into various hard things. A drop onto the steps rocks Allin again and we take a break. Back wit..

AEW Rampage Results – January 6, 2023

Rampage Date: January 6, 2023 Location: Portland Veterans Memorial Coliseum, Portland, Oregon Commentators: Jim Ross, Excalibur, Tony Schiavone, Chris Jericho We are in for the first of two hours of AEW TV this week. That could mean quite a few things, but we do have a TNT Title match as new champion Darby Allin defends against Matt Taven. It’s a little weird to have a title match on the show right before a title made of nothing but title matches, but it should be good. Let’s get to it. Opening sequence. Top Flight vs. Jon Moxley/Bryan Danielson The Club gets jumped from behind to start and it’s Darius dropkicking Moxley for a quick one. A standing moonsault gives Dante two but it’s off to Danielson to fire off the kicks in the corner. Moxley comes back in to hammer away before it’s a four way standoff. The double fights go to the floor, with Moxley and Danielson hitting running kicks against the barricade. Back in and Danielson puts Dante in a surfboard, allowing him to rip at the..

REVIEW: New Year’s Revolution 2005: It’s Time For A Change

Welcome to KB’s Old School (and New School) Reviews. I’ve been reviewing wrestling shows for over ten years now and have reviewed over 5,000 shows. Every Monday, Wednesday and Friday, I’ll be posting a new review here on Wrestlingrumors.net. It could be anything from modern WWE to old school to indies to anything in between. Note that I rate using letters instead of stars and I don’t rate matches under three minutes as really, how good or bad can something that short be? New Year’s Revolution 2005 Date: January 9, 2005 Location: Coliseo de Puerto Rico, San Juan, Puerto Rico Attendance: 15,764 Commentators: Jim Ross, Jerry Lawler We’re back on pay per view to start the new year and it’s a one match show. This time around that’s the Elimination Chamber for the vacant World Title with Shawn Michaels as guest referee to annoy everyone. Other than that…there is nothing on this show worth anything whatsoever. Let’s get to it. The opening video starts by talking about how awesome Puerto Ri..

AEW Rampage Results – December 23, 2022

Rampage Date: December 23, 2022 Location: Freeman Coliseum, San Antonio, Texas Commentators: Jim Ross, Excalibur, Tony Schiavone, Chris Jericho We’re still in front of one of those crazy Texas crowds and in this case there is a rather unique match. This time around we are having a Casino Trios Battle Royal, with the winning team splitting $300,000. That should be enough to make things interesting, and seems to be the big focal point this week. Let’s get to it. Opening sequence. Three Kings Christmas Casino Battle Royal So this is a nine team Casino Battle Royal (basically the Royal Rumble) for $300,000 and all three members of the team have to be eliminated. We start with the Best Friends/Orange Cassidy, La Faccion Ingobernable (Rush/Preston Vance/Kalistico) and Butcher and the Blade/Kip Sabian. Triple brawls break out in various corners until the Best Friends and Cassidy are kicked into the middle of the ring for the Big Hug. Cassidy is sent outside but not eliminated, allowing R..

HOW MUCH? Jim Ross Reveals Amazing Detail About Infamously Awful Match

That’s a lot. There have been so many matches throughout the history of WWE that standing out is a difficult task. While there are several matches that are great enough to stand above the rest, there are some matches that are much more infamous than famous. Now we know a rather important detail about a match that took place nearly nineteen years ago. IN CASE YOU MISSED IT: LOOK: 61 Year Old WWE Hall Of Famer Undergoes Major Surgery Back at WrestleMania 20, Goldberg faced Brock Lesnar in a special showdown match. Both men were leaving the company though, resulting in fans taunting both of them throughout. The two also spent several minutes of the match not making contact or using only basic moves. Jim Ross discussed the match during a recent episode of his Grilling JR podcast, revealing that both of them were paid $250,000 for the match, which ran about 13 minutes. Goldberg and Lesnar would both return to WWE in later years, with Lesnar defeating Goldberg in a rematch at WrestleMania ..
