REVIEW: No Way Out 2000: The Other Cell Match

Welcome to KB’s Old School (and New School) Reviews. I’ve been reviewing wrestling shows for over ten years now and have reviewed over 5,000 shows. Every Monday, Wednesday and Friday, I’ll be posting a new review here on Wrestlingrumors.net. It could be anything from modern WWE to old school to indies to anything in between. Note that I rate using letters instead of stars and I don’t rate matches under three minutes as really, how good or bad can something that short be? No Way Out 2000 Date: February 27, 2000 Location: Hartford Civic Center, Hartford, Connecticut Attendance: 12,551 Commentators: Jim Ross, Jerry Lawler This is more or less about one thing: Hell in a Cell. Tonight there’s a match where the winner goes to Mania. The Radicals are here now also so we have a fully fleshed out roster for th..

Maybe Later: How WWE Nixed Plans To Bring Back Finn Balor’s Demon

That would have been different. One of the most complicated aspects of wrestling is to make sure that the most important material is used at the right time. A promotion has to build things up over time and then pay it off when everything is ready. WWE is no exception, and now we know that they hit the brakes instead of letting someone make a special return. IN CASE YOU MISSED IT: Swap: Trish Stratus Reportedly At Monday Night Raw, Not Used As Planned According to Fightful Select, WWE had originally planned to bring back Finn Balor’s Demon persona at the Royal Rumble. The Demon would have fought Edge, possibly inside Hell In A Cell. However, due to Edge’s filming schedule, WWE went with the mixed tag instead. Cody Rhodes To Return At The 2023 Royal Rumble

The Nightmare is back. On tonight’s episode of Raw, WWE aired another vignette detailing the recovery of Cody Rhodes. At the conclusion of the video, a major announcement was made as The American Nightmare let the world know that he would be returning at the 2023 Royal Rumble. You can see the video below: [This post contains video, click to play] Rhodes has been out of action since Hell in a Cell 2022, where he competed against Seth Rollins, with a torn pectoral muscle. Prior to this, he had made his return to the company at WrestleMania of that year, returning after being away from the company for 6 years. Editor’s Opinion: I think we all had a sense that this was coming, but now it is official. If I’m being honest, I hoped that WWE would have made him a surprise entry into the Royal Rumble match, but with all of the vignettes airing, I understand why they needed to make the announcement before the show. I still believe that 2023 is going to be the biggest year of his career, an..

Not So Fast? WWE’s Plans For Edge Seem To Have Changed

Maybe? There are a lot of moving pieces in WWE at the moment and it can be difficult to keep track of what is going on from time to time. It can be made even more difficult with WWE changing plans so often, as you never know what kind of things you will wind up seeing compared to the original plans. That seems to have happened again, possibly with a pair of upcoming shows. IN CASE YOU MISSED IT: No More: Wrestling Couple Announces Official Separation According to Fightful Select, as of November, WWE’s plans for Edge called for him to face Finn Balor inside Hell In A Cell at the Royal Rumble. New Plan: Here Is What WWE Likely Has Planned For The Returning Cody Rhodes

Run it back? An injury is one of the worst things that you can see in wrestling as you never want to see someone put on the shelf for any amount of time. Another problem is losing the momentum a feud or storyline may have, as everything has to be stopped. That was the case earlier this year, but now we might have an idea of where things are going when an injured WWE star returns. IN CASE YOU MISSED IT: Back Soon: Here’s Why Kevin Owens Did Not Make His Scheduled SmackDown Appearance Cody Rhodes returned to WWE earlier this year at WrestleMania 37, where he defeated Seth Rollins. Rhodes went on to defeat Rollins again at WrestleMania Backlash, with a third match set for Hell In A Cell. Rhodes has been out of action since June, but according to Wrestling Observer Radio, “there will be more talk about Seth Rollins and Cody Rhodes” soon. While not confirmed, this would suggest t..

REPORT: Injury Update for Cody Rhodes WWE Return Before Royal Rumble

Since the now infamous Hell in a Cell match between Seth Rollins and Cody Rhodes back in June, the WWE Universe continues to wait for Cody’s return. All indications were that Cody would have been challenging Roman Reigns by SummerSlam. However, the torn pectoral muscle took him out of the game until next year. The general consensus on the rumor mill is that Cody Rhodes is expected back for the Royal Rumble in January. That’s about six months of recovery time for him. The expectation if that happens is that Cody would win the match and main event WrestleMania 39 against Roman Reigns. People are counting on that, but it’s been a minute since we had an update. More On Upcoming Changes To WWE Events Schedule, What We Know So Far

It’s a different way to go. There have been a lot of changes in WWE this year and some of them have been shifts that can move the company into a different direction. According to the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, the only thing confirmed is that there will be fewer of the events, with no word on what could happen to which events. One likely possibility is that events such as Hell In A Cell will no longer take place, though the match itself probably will somewhere. This is part of Triple H’s attempt to move WWE into a direction different than the one Vince McMahon followed. Opinion: This is more or less what was expected but it is nice to have things a bit more clari..

WRESTLING RUMORS: WWE Dropping Annual Event After 14 Straight Years

That’s one of the changes. We are in the middle of a period of change in wrestling and that very well may be the case for a long time to come. A lot of these changes are taking place due to the new regime in charge, with Triple H having more power than just about anyone. That power is being used for a lot of new ideas, including one which will be more of a loss than something being added. According to WrestleVotes by way of GiveMeSport, Triple H is likely to get rid of the annual Hell In A Cell pay per view. The match will continue to take place at some point, but rather than being held at a specific show at a specific time, it will be when the storyline calls for it. Hell In A Cell is said to be important to Triple H and he does not want the match happening at the same time every year. Opinion: This is something some fans have been asking to see for a long time now and for the same reason. It never made a ton of sense to have the match take place inside the Cell for the sake of it b..
