REVIEW: New Year’s Revolution 2006: He Did It Before

Welcome to KB’s Old School (and New School) Reviews. I’ve been reviewing wrestling shows for over ten years now and have reviewed over 5,000 shows. Every Monday, Wednesday and Friday, I’ll be posting a new review here on Wrestlingrumors.net. It could be anything from modern WWE to old school to indies to anything in between. Note that I rate using letters instead of stars and I don’t rate matches under three minutes as really, how good or bad can something that short be? New Year’s Revolution 2006 Date: January 8, 2006 Location: Pepsi Arena, Albany, New York Attendance: 11,000 Commentators: Joey Styles, Jonathan Coachman We’ve got a one match show here and that doesn’t exactly instill me with confidence. This show is all about the Elimination Chamber, with John Cena defending the Raw World Title against five challengers. The only other match of note on the card is Big Show vs. HHH, but it’s a far cry from the main event. Let’s get to it. The opening video only focuses on the Chamber..

REVIEW: Survivor Series 2000: Austin Does Machinery

Welcome to KB’s Old School (and New School) Reviews. I’ve been reviewing wrestling shows for over ten years now and have reviewed over 5,000 shows. Every Monday, Wednesday and Friday, I’ll be posting a new review here on Wrestlingrumors.net. It could be anything from modern WWE to old school to indies to anything in between. Note that I rate using letters instead of stars and I don’t rate matches under three minutes as really, how good or bad can something that short be? Survivor Series 2000 Date: November 19, 2000 Location: Ice Palace, Tampa, Florida Attendance: 18,602 Commentators: Jim Ross, Jerry Lawler It’s old school time and as luck would have it, we’re going with something from one of the best eras the company has ever had. Steve Austin is back from his neck surgery and going after the mastermind behind his attack with another match against HHH. At the same time, we have the Rock vs. Rikishi, who famously did it for da Rock. Let’s get to it. The opening video looks at HHH bei..

RUMOR: Triple H Only Interested in Bringing “Non-Controversial” Talent Back to WWE

With Vince McMahon’s retirement and Triple H taking the creative reigns at WWE, there has been a dramatic shift in how many performers have been featured on WWE programming. With many notable talents returning to the company, Triple H has opened the rumor mill to many potential names who could make their return to WWE. Most recently, it’s been reported by the Wrestling Observer that Jonah, formerly known as Bronson Reed during his tenure with NXT and WWE, has been offered the opportunity to come back to WWE. There are also reports of Chelsea Green returning to the company as well. There’s also some smoke surrounding a return for Matt Cardona. Related: WWE Interested In Bringing Back These Former Champions While the rumor mill continues to spin on potential names, a new report from Ringside News details that WWE officials and HHH are looking for returning performers to meet some specific pieces of criteria. The word on the street is that “WWE is looking for really talented performers ..

Monday Night Raw Results – October 10, 2022

Monday Night Raw Date: October 10, 2022 Location: Barclays Center, New York City, New York Commentators: Corey Graves, Kevin Patrick It’s the season premiere and that means we should have a stacked show. WWE has a tendency to make these shows huge and that is the case again this week. We have a D-Generation X reunion, plus Bobby Lashley defending the United States Title against Seth Rollins. Let’s get to it. Shawn Michaels, Road Dogg and X-Pac are in the back and talk to HHH, wearing a headset at the Gorilla position. HHH tells them to be nice so a bunch of swearing and penis jokes, complete with rubber chickens, ensues. Opening sequence. Kevin Patrick is introduced as the new lead play by play commentator. Here’s the Bloodline to get things going. After we look at the Logan Paul/Bloodline Smackdown segment, Reigns talks about how he likes to move forward. This time though, he can’t move past last Friday, which has him thinking about something his dad once told him. His dad said t..

SmackDown Results – October 7, 2022

Smackdown Date: October 7, 2022 Location: DCU Center, Worcester, Massachusetts Commentators: Michael Cole, Wade Barrett It’s the season premiere of a show that has seasons in the loosest sense of the world. This week features a showdown between Roman Reigns and Logan Paul, plus a rematch from Clash At The Castle with Gunther defending the Intercontinental Title against Sheamus. One of these things should be awesome so let’s get to it. HHH is in the ring to get things going to say that there will be a time when you think everything is over but it is just the beginning. Welcome to Smackdown, where there is another QR code on the microphone cube. Wade Barrett is introduced as the new member of the commentary teams. With HHH gone, here is the Bloodline for a chat. Roman Reigns hits the catchphrase but gets cut off by Logan Paul, who stays on the apron. Reigns invites him in and the fans DO NOT like Paul. Reigns: “Don’t worry, they did that to me years ago too.” Paul Heyman is told to s..

LOOK: New White Rabbit Clue Points To Former WWE Star (This Is Weird)

Well that’s a turn. WWE has been running quite the mystery in recent weeks, but very little of it has been taking place on television. Instead, WWE has been doing more of an underground story, with incidents taking place at live events and a series of QR codes appearing on television, leading to more clues. There was another one this week and things got even weirder. A new QR code appeared this week on Monday Night Raw, taking you to a site that features a collection of WWE clips which comprise the words “Who killed the world? You did.” It also included coordinates for Prata Nevoso, Italy, the location of the Giant Pink Bunny. In addition, according to Ryan Satin, looking at the site’s source code shows the phrases “No man is ever truly good, no man is ever truly evil”. These were the lyrics to Aleister Black’s WWE theme music, though there is nothing to suggest that Black is on his way back to WWE. WHOAHHH! While searching for the QR code on here, because I was having trouble on m..

Monday Night Raw Results – July 25, 2022

Monday Night Raw Date: July 25, 2022 Location: Madison Square Garden, New York City, New York Commentators: Jimmy Smith, Byron Saxton, Corey Graves We’re officially in an all new era as Vince McMahon is completely gone and HHH is now in charge of creative. That may sound very interesting on paper but I would give it another week before you see any major changes. There might be some surprises here and there this week though as it’s the go home show for Summerslam. Let’s get to it. We open with Miz and Logan Paul mid-brawl in the ring with referees having to break it up. With that out of the way, here is the Bloodline for a chat. Roman Reigns gets to the point by having the Garden acknowledge him before handing it off to Paul Heyman. After the mic goes out (Heyman: “We have a sound guy that must be from New Jersey or something. We want your name written down. You’re the next one out the door.”), we hear about everything Brock Lesnar has done over the years. Lesnar has ruined a lot of..

REVIEW: Backlash 2005: Keep On Fighting

Welcome to KB’s Old School (and New School) Reviews. I’ve been reviewing wrestling shows for over twelve years now and have reviewed over 6,000 shows. Backlash 2005 Date: May 1, 2005 Location: Verizon Wireless Arena, Manchester, New Hampshire Attendance: 14,000 Commentators: Jim Ross, Jerry Lawler It’s the follow up to Wrestlemania and that means we’re in for a rematch for the Raw World Title with HHH challenging Batista for the title. Other than that, we have the ultimate teaming of Shawn Michaels/Hulk Hogan vs. Muhammad Hassan/Daivari because we need a way to get to what is likely going to be Shawn vs. Hogan at a big show. Let’s get to it. The opening video i..

REVIEW: SmackDown – April 25, 2002: The Kid Might Have Something

Welcome to KB’s Old School (and New School) Reviews. I’ve been reviewing wrestling shows for over twelve years now and have reviewed over 6,000 shows. Smackdown Date: April 25, 2002 Location: Peoria Civic Center, Peoria, Illinois Attendance: 8,350 Commentators: Michael Cole, Tazz We’re in a new era now as HHH is a full time Smackdown wrestler, which I’m sure will last for at least a few weeks. After all you can’t expect the biggest star in the company to be on the B show for very long. Other than that we’re going to get more of the Hulk Hogan nostalgia tour, which wasn’t the most interesting thing in the world earlier this week. Let’s get to it. Opening sequenc..

REVIEW: WrestleMania 18: The One And Only

Welcome to KB’s Old School (and New School) Reviews. I’ve been reviewing wrestling shows for over twelve years now and have reviewed over 6,000 shows. Wrestlemania XVIII Date: March 17, 2002 Location: SkyDome, Toronto, Ontario, Canada Attendance: 68,237 Commentators: Jim Ross, Jerry Lawler The advertised main event here is Chris Jericho defending the WWF Title against HHH. I say advertised because there’s a match on the card that really is the main event. Back in February, the New World Order debuted in the WWF, meaning Kevin Nash (Diesel), Scott Hall (Razor Ramon) and Hulk Hogan himself made their returns. Hogan got right to the point as well, accepting a Wrest..

REVIEW: Vengeance 2005: Lock Them Up

Welcome to KB’s Old School (and New School) Reviews. I’ve been reviewing wrestling shows for over twelve years now and have reviewed over 6,000 shows. Every Monday, Wednesday and Friday, I’ll be posting a new review here on Wrestlingrumors.net. It could be anything from modern WWE to old school to indies to anything in between. Vengeance 2005 Date: June 26, 2005 Location: Thomas & Mack Center, Las Vegas, Nevada Attendance: 9,850 Commentators: Jim Ross, Jerry Lawler, Jonathan Coachman I’m actually looking forward to this one as the card is stacked. We have HHH vs. Batista inside the Cell, John Cena facing Christian and Chris Jericho in a triple threat in his first defense as Raw World Champion and Kurt Angle vs. Shawn Michaels II. The rest of the show might not be great but those three matches should be more than enough. Let’s get to it. ..

REVIEW: Royal Rumble 2000: The Sequel Is Better

Royal Rumble 2000 Date: January 23, 2000 Location: Madison Square Garden, New York City, New York Attendance: 19,231 Commentators: Jerry Lawler, Jim Ross This is the first of the two redos of the year and you picked a good one. What we have here is one of the better one two punches in WWF history, as it’s a double main event. Of course there is the Rumble, but we also have Cactus Jack vs. HHH for the WWF Title in a street fight, which should work out fairly well. Let’s get to it. The opening video looks at some of Cactus Jack’s most violent moments over the years, with HHH still thinking he knows what he is getting into. Some of the Japanese deathmatch stuff here is rather insane looking and wasn’t something you would see on WWF (or American) TV at the time (or in modern times either really). The set is really cool, as it has the entrance opposite the hard camera. There is a taxi hanging over the aisle, which is painted like a street for the street fight. Remember when they put in a..

REVIEW: Monday Night Raw – December 29, 2003: The Texas Classic

Welcome to KB’s Old School (and New School) Reviews. I’ve been reviewing wrestling shows for over twelve years now and have reviewed over 6,000 shows. Every Monday, Wednesday and Friday, I’ll be posting a new review here on Wrestlingrumors.net. It could be anything from modern WWE to old school to indies to anything in between. Note that I rate using letters instead of stars and I don’t rate matches under three minutes as really, how good or bad can something that short be? Monday Night Raw Date: December 29, 2003 Location: SBC Arena, San Antonio, Texas Attendance: 12,000 Commentators: Jim Ross, Jerry Lawler We’re FINALLY done with this terrible year with one last show and, of course, it’s focused on HHH, who is defending the World Title against Shawn Michaels in Shawn’s hometown. This will set some stuff up for the Royal Rumble, which is in about four weeks and has barely been discussed yet. Such is life in WWE, which is rarely up for capitalizing on the extra time that they have. L..

REVIEW: Monday Night Raw – June 6, 2005: The Next Big Thing

Welcome to KB’s Old School (and New School) Reviews. I’ve been reviewing wrestling shows for over twelve years now and have reviewed over 6,000 shows. Every Monday, Wednesday and Friday, I’ll be posting a new review here on Wrestlingrumors.net. It could be anything from modern WWE to old school to indies to anything in between. Note that I rate using letters instead of stars and I don’t rate matches under three minutes as really, how good or bad can something that short be? Monday Night Raw Date: June 6, 2005 Location: Savvis Center, St. Louis, Missouri Attendance: 10,000 Commentators: Jim Ross, Jerry Lawler It’s time for the start of the Draft and that is the kind of thing that can change a lot about the company in a hurry. The first Draft pick is going to be revealed on the Highlight Reel and that could make for some interesting interactions. Other than that we have the build towards HHH vs. Batista in the Cell and it’s also the go home show for One Night Stand. Let’s get to it. E..

NXT UK Results – July 22, 2021

NXT UK Date: July 22, 2021 Location: BT Studios, London, England Commentators: Andy Shepherd, Nigel McGuinness This was supposed to be the big showdown between Walter and Ilja Dragunov but the injury bug struck, meaning the match has been postponed. Instead, we have to settle for Subculture challenging Pretty Deadly for the Tag Team Titles. I’d call it a downgrade but they can probably make it work. Let’s get to it. The opening video recaps the NXT Title match being canceled and a look at the Tag Team Title match. Sid Scala opens things up and we go to William Regal (fine after being laid out on Tuesday), HHH and Shawn Michaels (the birthday boy), who announce Walter vs. Dragunov II will take place at Takeover 36 on August 22. Eddie Dennis says Symbiosis is ready to destroy Moustache Mountain. Laura DiMatteo vs. Nina Samuels Samuels works on the arm to start but gets pulled down for a front facelock. That’s reversed back into a wristlock but Samuels reverses into a cradle, which D..

REVIEW: Saturday Night’s Main Event #32: Make It Stop

Welcome to KB’s Old School (and New School) Reviews. I’ve been reviewing wrestling shows for over ten years now and have reviewed over 5,000 shows. Every Monday, Wednesday and Friday, I’ll be posting a new review here on Wrestlingrumors.net. It could be anything from modern WWE to old school to indies to anything in between. Saturday Night’s Main Event #32 Date: March 18, 2006 Location: Cobo Arena, Detroit, Michigan Attendance: 7,000 Commentators: Jerry Lawler, Jim Ross, Tazz And then there’s this, as we need a two hour commercial for Wrestlemania. The main event is a handicap match between the John Cena/HHH (the Raw main event) and Rey Mysterio/Kurt Angle/Randy Orton (the Smackdown main event), though it could wind up at any part of the show. There’s also Shawn Michaels vs. Shane McMahon in a street fight, which could have some strong p..

NXT UK Results – July 15, 2021

NXT UK Date: July 15, 2021 Location: BT Studios, London, England Commentators: Andy Shepherd, Nigel McGuinness It’s a double title week as both the Heritage Cup and Women’s Title are on the line. That alone should be enough for a huge show, but it is also time to hype up the United Kingdom Title match for next week, which should be a candidate for match of the year. This show has a tendency to be good lately so maybe they can keep that up here. Let’s get to it. In Memory Of Paul Orndorff. Opening sequence. HHH joins us to hype up Walter vs. Ilja Dragunov II for the United Kingdom Title next week. Walter has been champion for over 800 days but Dragunov is an enigma. NXT UK is proud to present it and it is going to be amazing. We go to the ring, with Walter and Dragunov set up for a press conference. First up is Alex McCarthy from talkSport, who asks if Walter thinks his title reign is under threat. That’s a no, because Walter is here for the long term. It’s true that Dragunov is an..

REVIEW: King Of The Ring 2002: This Guy Has Something

Welcome to KB’s Old School (and New School) Reviews. I’ve been reviewing wrestling shows for over ten years now and have reviewed over 5,000 shows. King of the Ring 2002 Date: June 23, 2002 Location: Nationwide Arena, Columbus, Ohio Attendance: 14,198 Commentators: Jim Ross, Jerry Lawler I haven’t been looking forward to this one and I have a feeling that’s going to be proven right. The triple main event is Hulk Hogan vs. Kurt Angle, HHH vs. Undertaker for the World Title and the tournament final, none of which would be interesting in the first place but here they’re getting a ton of focus. Let’s get to it. We open with a recap of some great King of the Ring wi..

Fully Loaded 2000 Date: July 23, 2000 Location: Reunion Arena, Dallas, Texas Attendance: 16,504 Commentators: Jim Ross, Jerry Lawler In addition to the main event title match with the Rock defending against Chris Benoit, we also have the Undertaker (now a biker) facing Kurt Angle and HHH vs. Chris Jericho in one of the earlier matches in a very long running feud. On top of that though there’s another match with a single moment that should receive a lot more attention than it does. Let’s get to it. The opening video ..

REVIEW: Monday Night Raw – June 7, 1999: It Was HIM AUSTIN!

Monday Night Raw Date: June 7, 1999 Location: Fleet Center, Boston, Massachusetts Commentators: Michael Cole, Jerry Lawler We’re just one week after Undertaker beat Austin for the title with the help of both McMahons and Austin broken heart due to Owen Hart passing away earlier in the night. Other than that it’s Rock vs. HHH because this is 1999 and what else is it going to be? Oh wait apparently there’s a somewhat significant moment on here so let’s get to it. We open with a recap of Austin stunning everyone in sig..
