What could have been. Winning a title is one of the most important things that a wrestler can do in their career. It is a symbol that you have arrived and that the promotion you are working for sees something in you. There are a lot of titles floating around WWE these days but picking up some gold still means a lot no matter what it may be. One recently released wrestlers was ready to win something, but then plans changed in a sad way. Dirty Dango, formerly known as Fandango in WWE, was a guest on Insights with Chris Van Vliet and revealed that he was scheduled to win the Intercontinental Title. Dango was scheduled to win the title but was then suffered a concussion during a match with Great Khali. Rather than explaining this to WWE, Dango continued to wrestle and was concussed again during a match with Zack Ryder. WWE then found out that he was injured and pulled him off the road. WWE Star Teases Bringing Back An Infamous Gimmick Match
Welcome back? There are all kinds of different matches in the wrestling world and some of them are a lot more unique than others. You don’t get to see all of them every week as it could get dull in a hurry. Sometimes a promotion finds a match that it only busts out in extreme situations, with WWE being no exception. One such match be making it’s return soon. In a new interview with El Brunch de WWE, Jinder Mahal discussed the history of the Punjabi Prison match. Mahal mentioned that Great Khali designed the match and then appeared to help Mahal win his edition of the match against Randy Orton at Battleground 2017. While Mahal said that he did not want to have too many matches inside the structure, he did want to face Drew McIntyre in such a match. No match between the two has been announced as of yet, though they are feuding. The Punjabi Prison match consists of a pair of cages made of bamboo surrounding the ring. Surprising Former WWE Star Tells Of Bullying Great Khali
That’s an odd pairing. WWE has had all kinds of wrestlers over the years, with some of them being quite different than the norm. That is the kind of thing that is going to get more interest and attention than some others, which is the point in having so many different people out there. Now one of the more unique wrestlers in WWE has history has a story about an even more unique wrestler. During an appearance on the Such Good Shoot podcast, former WWE star Swoggle spoke about bullying Great Khali during his time in WWE. Swoggle said that he intentionally bullied Great Khali every change he had, as he wanted to make a point and felt that bullying no one else would matter. He also understood that this is something which would be frowned upon today as times have changed. There is no word on how Great Khali responded to the bullying or what exactly Swoggle did. Here Is Why The Big Show Missed The Greatest Royal Rumble
Dave Meltzer provided some insight into why Raw Superstar The Big Show was not involved in the 50-man Royal Rumble match at the Greatest Royal Rumble. Show was one of the Superstars advertised to appear in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia for the Greatest Royal Rumble show late last week. However, he wasn’t there. During the Wrestling Observer Radio, Meltzer had the following to say on why Show wasn’t available for the match: “Big Show was injured about three weeks ago again he was coming back from his injury and he got reinjured. So that’s why he wasn’t in the match. I don’t know how severe but it was severe enough. <p>Welcome to SmackDown Live, only 48 hours removed from the Battleground PPV!</p><p>Jinder Mahal retained the WWE Championship against Randy Orton in the Punjabi Prison match. However, to nobody’s surprise, Orton wasn’t beaten one-on-one. In fact, it took FOUR guys for Mahal to retain, including himself, The Singh Brothers, and the return of The Great Khali. Look, I don’t like the fact that Mahal is being booked so weak, nor does the return of Khali excite me, but I do like the concept of Mahal having an impressive entourage. Mahal is a beatable Champion but he has two lackeys who will go through hell for him, and a giant to be the muscle. It’s a great sight and I’m excited to see where WWE go next with the Punjabi Posse.</p><p>Kevin Owens won the United States Championship from AJ Styles at WWE Battleground. The match itself was fine but the finish left almost everyone scratching their heads. There was a seemingly unnecessary ref bump, a series of submissions in which nobody tapped, and then a weak roll-up to finish an anti-climatic match. It definitely was a blemish on a match that was only starting to get good. However, it’s likely we’ll get the rubber match between the two at SummerSlam and so the feud will continue tonight. That being said, there are rumours that last-minute plan changes were made to allow AJ to leap into a feud with Jinder Mahal. Either way, we’ll find out soon!</p><p>The New Day won the SmackDown Tag Team Championship’s on Sunday night, following the best match on the entire card. The match was fantastic and it felt like the right time to put the titles on The New Day. It’s unclear if we’re going to get a third showdown between the two teams at SummerSlam, but seeing as SmackDown’s tag division is pretty lacking, it seems likely. I’m fine with another month of these two teams going at it but in the meantime WWE really has to build a credible contender to New Day. Speaking of other teams, The Fashion Police were once again attacked on Sunday night and we’re no closer to figuring out who perpetrated the attacks. Rumour has it that Luke Harper and Erick Rowan are behind it, and I really hope that’s the case because they could be credible contender’s to the New Day should they beat The Fashion Police.</p><p><strong><a href="http://www.ringsidenews.com/wrestler/natalya" title="Natalya">Natalya</a></strong> won the Five-Way Elimination Match at WWE Battleground on Sunday night, which means she will face <strong><a href="http://www.ringsidenews.com/wrestler/naomi" title="Naomi">Naomi</a></strong> at SummerSlam for the Women’s Championship. These two could have a good match but I worry about the feud when it comes to the microphone. That being said, WWE would do well to include Carmella in the feud and she could easily make it more interesting in the promo department, as well as give Naomi another thing to worry about.</p><p>That’s the preview for tonight’s show, which is likely to feature the continued feuds between Corbin and Nakamura, as well as <strong><a href="http://www.ringsidenews.com/wrestler/sami-zayn" title="Sami Zayn">Sami Zayn</a></strong> and Mike Kanellis. Jinder Mahal Possibly Not Defending the WWE Title at SummerSlam
<p>As seen at Sunday’s WWE Battleground event, The Great Khali returned to the company and helped assist Jinder Mahal retain his WWE Championship Title against <strong><a href="http://www.ringsidenews.com/wrestler/randy-orton" title="Randy Orton">Randy Orton</a></strong> in a Punjabi Prison match.</p><p>Bryan Alvarez mentioned on today’s installment of Wrestling Observer Live that the company could be moving towards a tag match between The Great Khali and <strong><a href="http://www.ringsidenews.com/tag/randy/" title="Randy">Randy</a></strong> Orton at this year’s SummerSlam. It was noted earlier today that <a href="http://www.ringsidenews.com/2017/07/24/reason-great-khali-returned-wwe-revealed/">Khali was brought back to the company</a> to help get Jinder over. If a tag match at SummerSlam is the plan, that would mean that Jinder would be teaming with Khali at the event. This would also mean that the WWE Championship title will not be defended on the card.</p><p>We should have a clearer understand after Tuesday’s episode of SmackDown Live in the direction the company is going. The original plan was for Mahal to defend the WWE Championship against <strong><a href="http://www.ringsidenews.com/wrestler/johncena" title="John Cena">John Cena</a></strong> but those plans could now be off the table.</p>

<p>After his victory against <strong><a href="http://www.ringsidenews.com/wrestler/randy-orton" title="Randy Orton">Randy Orton</a></strong> at Sunday’s WWE Battleground event, WWE Champion Jinder Mahal spoke with <a href="http://indianexpress.com/article/sports/wwe-wrestling/with-the-great-khali-behind-me-i-am-truly-unstoppable-jinder-mahal-4765072/" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">Indian Express</a> and talked about The Great <strong><a href="http://www.ringsidenews.com/tag/khali/" title="Khali">Khali</a></strong>’s return to WWE.</p><p><em>“Not only on SmackDown live but also on the entire WWE, I run the show and call the shots. With the Great Khali behind me, I am truly unstoppable. I have a great relationship with Khali, he is like my older brother. As Indians, we stick together. He was the first person I contacted after announcing the Punjabi Prison Match. We are in contact all the time and he is one of my role models and I want to follow his footsteps. He has helped put India on the map of WWE and I hope he is happy with my performance at Battleground.”</em></p><p>As previously noted, WWE decided to bring <a href="http://www.ringsidenews.com/2017/07/24/reason-great-khali-returned-wwe-revealed/">Khali in to help give Jinder a rub</a>. The feeling right now is that Jinder isn’t very popular in India, despite being WWE Champion. He says he was told the day before winning the 6-pack challenge on Smackdown Live that he was going to become the number one contender. He was drinking a lot and his weight ballooned to 260 lbs. He realized that he needed to change his lifestyle, so he began dieting and getting into shape, and soon enough WWE came calling. He says that Impact Wrestling actually called him about coming to work for them as well, but he chose to come back to WWE.</p><p>He says that during those two years he was very negative and was working the indie scene and just didn’t care. As soon as he started to care about himself and his wrestling again, everything changed and opportunities started to arise again. He says he’s remaining very positive now, and he keeps a daily planner of his goals. One of his goals is to have the best body in WWE, and another is to win the WWE Championship.</p>
