These things can put them on the shelf for any length of time and there is often little that can be done about them. In addition to the in-ring issues, there are other health problems that can pop up every so often. That was the case again in a serious way for a wrestling legend, but now things are looking up. IN CASE YOU MISSED IT: Maybe? WWE Star Denies Reports Of Being On Hiatus From Company In February, WWE Hall of Famer Jerry the King Lawler suffered a stroke at his home in Florida. Lawler was recovering in Florida and undergoing outpatient therapy but now, according to PWInsider.com, he has recovered enough to return to his other home in Memphis, Tennessee. There is no word on when Lawler, 73, is expected to make a full recovery from the stroke. Lawler has had quite the career in WWE. Ring Of Honor Date: March 9, 2023 Location: Universal Studios, Orlando, Florida Commentators: Ian Riccaboni, Caprice Coleman We’re still on the first taping of this new show so things are likely to look like they did last week. The wrestling itself was pretty good, but the length of the show was quite the drag. They did offer something big at the end with Eddie Kingston showing up to challenge Claudio Castagnoli, so there is at least a path forward in the main event. Let’s get to it. TV Title: Samoa Joe vs. Tony Deppen Joe is defending and works on the wrist to start. For some reason Deppen strikes away, earning himself a beating in the corner. We are about a month away from Stand & Deliver and the card is starting to take shape. While nothing has happened yet and Roadblock is next week, you can probably figure out a lot of what is coming. One thing that is not entirely clear is what will be going on with Shawn Michaels and Grayson Waller, but maybe we can find out some more tonight. Let’s get to it. The best formula around here seems to be having some midcard NXT stars in the main event and the younger stars filling in the rest of the show. Axiom vs. Kale Dixon Dixon works on the arm to start but Axiom reverses into an armbar of his own. A springboard kick to the side of the head drops Dixon but he’s right back with some clubbing forearms. They trade kicks to the ribs until Dixon gets two off a delayed vertical suplex. If they can keep up that energy this week, it should be another breeze of the show. Unless I’m forgetting something, this is the first time NXT has left Orlando for a televised event since Stand & Deliver over Wrestlemania weekend. At some point they just need to get out of Florida and heading to Charlotte is as good of a way as any. The card actually has me interested this time, though the television show from this week wasn’t so great. Maybe they can overcome that with a good one here so let’s get to it. North American Title: Wes Lee(c) vs. Dijak We’ll start off with one that can go either way as Dijak is a monster who can run through a lot of people and Lee is someone who could be champion for a nice run. This has been built up for a few weeks with Dijak speaking more and more like an 80s movie villain. Lee has turned into a much better star than I would have expected him to be and this is a tossup so far.
