The big time. We are in a new year and that means it is time to start doing new things in WWE. That can include all kinds of new concepts, or perhaps doing something in a different way. WWE has a lot of options open to it and some of those can be rather interesting. One such change has already been announced and now we know a good bit more about how the plan came into being. IN CASE YOU MISSED IT: They’re Up? Former NXT Champions Make Main Roster Debuts Last week, WWE announced that it would be holding its annual Money In The Bank event this year at the 02 Arena in London, England, marking the first time the event has been held outside of North America. According to Fightful Select, WWE could have held the show in a stadium and sold it out, but they felt that the 02 is the “Madison Square Garden of England” and wanted to run the venue. In addition, running Money In The Bank in England makes the event feel like one of the biggest of the year. There have been some big ones. Check out ..

WATCH: Mickie James And Trish Stratus Reunite For Cool Moment

They’re legends. Over the years, certain wrestlers reach a level like few others. Certain stars become some of the top names in all of wrestling and there are very few wrestlers who are able to come close to matching them. It can mean something when those wrestlers are able to get together outside of the ring, even after their careers are over. Now two more have done just that. IN CASE YOU MISSED IT: Add It Up: New Grudge Match Set For WWE Survivor Series WWE Hall Of Famer Trish Stratus and legend Mickie James have posted a video to their Instagrams showing them heading to MCM Comic Con in Birmingham, England. The two were riding in the back of a car and invited fans to come see them while talking about their history together. James and Stratus feuded in WWE in 2006, with James defeating Stratus to win the WWE Women’s Title. They have a lot to say. New Title Match With Personal Touch Added To AEW Full Gear

The card continues to grow. We are less than three weeks away from AEW Full Gear, which will be one of the few times that AEW goes on pay per view during the year. As a result, the company tends to stack up its pay per view cards, which seems to be the case again. Now the card has gotten even bigger, as a new title match has been added to the show with a bit of a personal touch. This week on AEW Dynamite, an Interim Women’s Title match was announced for Full Gear, with Toni Storm defending against Jamie Hayter. A vignette aired showing the personal history between the two, revealing that they even lived together in England during the Coronavirus pandemic. This will be the second singles match between the two, with Storm having previously defeated Hayter in the first round of the Owen Hart Foundation Tournament. Opinion: Hayter getting a title shot is an interesting development as she has seemed to be ready to become the next breakout star in the AEW women’s division. I don’t know if ..

AEW Rampage Results – October 7, 2022

Rampage Date: October 7, 2022 Location: Entertainment And Sports Arena, Washington DC Commentators: It’s the first half of a live double shot with a special Rampage. That should make the show a bit more interesting, which is a boost that is rather necessary around here. We have a Trios Titles match tonight, as the previously announced mask vs. career match has been canceled due to reasons of Andrade El Idolo. Let’s get to it. Opening sequence. Blackpool Combat Club vs. Rush/Private Party Regal calls Excalibur a caramel cheesecake that he would let melt in his mouth. Regal to Jericho: “I’d rather rip off my own eyelids and dip my head in hot soapy water than sit next to you.” The Firm is watching at ringside as Castagnoli takes Kassidy down with almost no effort to start. Yuta comes in as Jericho and Regal argue over how filthy and horrible Blackpool, England is. Kassidy gets sent down again so it’s off to Rush, who spits at Moxley and shakes his hair, which is enough to bring Moxle..

REVIEW: WCPW Pro Wrestling World Cup Finals: The Big Finish

Welcome to KB’s Old School (and New School) Reviews. I’ve been reviewing wrestling shows for over twelve years now and have reviewed over 6,000 shows. Every Monday, Wednesday and Friday, I’ll be posting a new review here on Wrestlingrumors.net. It could be anything from modern WWE to old school to indies to anything in between. Note that I rate using letters instead of stars and I don’t rate matches under three minutes as really, how good or bad can something that short be? WCPW Pro Wrestling World Cup Finals Date: August 26, 2017 Location: Sport Central, Newcastle Upon Tyne, England Commentators: Dave Bradshaw, James R. Kennedy So back in 2017, What Culture Pro Wrestling (later Defiant Wrestling) set up a massive tournament with wrestlers from around the world taking part. As you can guess, this is the big final, with both the semifinals and finals taking place. This was a cool concept and I didn’t get to see any of it but here’s the big ending. Lets get to it. Opening sequence. S..

WATCH: AEW Star Announces Severe Injury, Needs Surgery

That’s a rough one. Injuries can happen to anyone at anytime in wrestling and that is never good to see. You can see someone get hurt and put on the shelf for any length of time as some of them are more serious than others. Unfortunately someone can be hurt out of nowhere, just off of a fluke situation and that seems to be the case again with a current AEW star. AEW’s Ruby Soho has released a video announcing that due to a broken nose suffered at All Out, she will be forced to undergo surgery. As a result, she will be missing her booking at 1PW in England. There is no word on how long Soho will be out of action due to her injury. Soho was injured during a match on the All Out Zero Hour show where she teamed with Ortiz in a losing effort against Tay Melo/Sammy Guevara. You don’t want to hear something like this. Check out Soho’s announcement: [This post contains video, click to play] Opinion: This is one of those things you never want to hear and hopefully Soho is back in the ring s..

NXT UK Results – August 4, 2022

NXT UK Date: August 4, 2022 Location: BT Sports Studios, London, England Commentators: Nigel McGuinness, Andy Shepherd Things should be getting a bit more energized around here as we had the big showdown for the United Kingdom Title last week. Ilja Dragunov is going to need a fresh opponent after dispatching Wolfgang and a bigger one would be nice. This week is a title week also, as we have Meiko Satomura defending the Women’s Title against Sarray. Let’s get to it. Opening sequence. Here is United Kingdom Champion Ilja Dragunov for a chat….and he’s on crutches. Dragunov says he suffered a severe ankle injury during his title defense last week (insert clip here) and that means he cannot defend his title. Therefore it has to be vacated, but he isn’t going to talk about how hard this is for him. Everyone back there is fighting hard every day and there is nothing special about him. He doesn’t regret anything he did in the ring and when he looks around the ring, there are bits of his so..

NXT UK Results – July 28, 2022

NXT UK Date: July 28, 2022 Location: BT Sports Studios, London, England Commentators: Nigel McGuinness, Andy Shepherd It’s title time again this week as Ilja Dragunov remembers that he is the United Kingdom Champion and defends against Wolfgang. Gallus has been doing better in recent weeks with Mark Coffey winning the Heritage Cup so maybe we are in for some more of their momentum. Other than that, I’m sure it will be the usual random assortment around here. Let’s get to it. The opening video runs down tonight’s card. Opening sequence. Tag Team Titles: Josh Briggs/Brooks Jensen vs. Wild Boar/Mark Andrews Boar and Andrews, who commentary says have been friends for years, are challenging. Boar cranks on Jensen’s arm to start and Andrews comes in to work on the knee. A blind tag brings Briggs in though and a double shoulder runs Boar over. It’s back to Andrews, who gets planted with an assisted powerslam and the chinlock goes on. Briggs comes back in for a chinlock of his own but thr..

NXT UK Results – July 21, 2022

NXT UK Date: July 21, 2022 Location: BT Sports Studios, London, England Commentators: Nigel McGuinness, Andy Shepherd We’re coming off of a title change last week as Mark Coffey FINALLY took the Heritage Cup from Noam Dar, ending his record reign. After the match, Joe Coffey made his return to celebrate with his brother as things seem to be going well for Gallus for a change. Let’s get to it. We open with a recap of Mark Coffey’s win last week. Opening sequence. Isla Dawn vs. Fallon Henley Henley forearms away to start and hits an elbow to the face before armdragging her into the ropes. That means a forearm to the face but Dawn sends her into the corner to take over. A running kick to the chest gives Dawn two and we hit the cross arm choke. Henley fights up and drives her into the corner for the break, only to get kicked in the head. Dawn hits a half nelson slam for the pin at 5:13. Result: Isla Dawn b. Fallon Henley – Half nelson slam (5:13) Sarray is happy to be here but stops ..

NXT UK Results – July 14, 2022

NXT UK Date: July 14, 2022 Location: BT Sports Studios, London, England Commentators: Nigel McGuinness, Andy Shepherd We are in for a big time title match this week as the Heritage Cup is on the line. Noam Dar has dominated the division for such a long time that he is starting to repeat challenges, which will be the case this week as Mark Coffey gets another shot. Other than that, we have the continuing adventures of just about everyone else around here. Let’s get to it. Opening sequence. Oliver Carter vs. Teoman The rest of Die Familie is here with Teoman. They go technical to start until Teoman elbows him in the face. It’s too early for a wristlock though and Carter takes over on the arm instead. That’s broken up as well and Teoman hits a neckbreaker onto the knee for two. We hit the chinlock for a bit, followed by some slow stomping to keep Carter down. Carter fights up and hits a quick springboard moonsault to start the comeback, including an elbow to the face. Another neckbrea..

REVIEW: Summerslam 1992: The British Classic

Welcome to KB’s Old School (and New School) Reviews. I’ve been reviewing wrestling shows for over twelve years now and have reviewed over 6,000 shows. Every Monday, Wednesday and Friday, I’ll be posting a new review here on Wrestlingrumors.net. It could be anything from modern WWE to old school to indies to anything in between. Summerslam 1992 Date: August 31, 1992 Location: Wembley Stadium, London, England Attendance: 80,355 Commentators: Vince McMahon, Bobby Heenan Most of the older editions are in need of an update so we’ll knock out this one. This is one of the biggest crowds in wrestling history and they’re in for a pretty major show. We have a double main event of Randy Savage defending the WWF Title against the Ultimate Warrior and the instant classic of Bret Hart vs. British Bulldog for the Intercontinental Title. Guess what’s he..

Chris Jericho Opens Up About Major Medical Issue That Led To Hospitalization

That could have been worse. There are all kinds of injuries that can put a wrestler on the shelf and you never know how bad things can be until you get a better diagnosis. As many times as you can see a wrestler get hurt in the ring, there are other times when something goes wrong that you might never see. That was the case last year, and it turns out that things were a lot more serious than people realized. Last year, Chris Jericho was hospitalized during a UK tour during a tour of England with his band Fozzy. Jericho opened up about the situation during his Talk Is Jericho podcast, revealing that he was suffering from blood clots and had a pulmonary embolism (blood clot in the lungs). Jericho talked about performing at a show in Newcastle, England and having trouble breathing. This led to a hospitalization and several appearances being canceled as Jericho recovered. The clots have since been removed, allowing a full recovery. Opinion: This is one of those things that is absolutely ..

NXT UK Results – July 7, 2022

NXT UK Date: July 7, 2022 Location: BT Sports Studios, London, England Commentators: Nigel McGuinness, Andy Shepherd Things need to pick up a bit around here and unfortunately that has been the case for a little while now. Between the influx of NXT stars and nothing major happening for a few weeks now, it hasn’t been the most exciting place. Maybe that can be changed this week as Kenny Williams faces Tiger Turan. Let’s get to it. Opening sequence. Kenny Williams vs. Tiger Turan Williams charges at him before the bell but settles for a lockup once we get going. That earns him an armbar from Turan without much effort, followed by a running shoulder for the knockdown. Turan goes back to the arm before dropkicking a frustrated Williams out to the floor. Back in and Turan does a headstand in the corner to avoid another charge before kicking Williams down again. Williams finally gets smart by taking out the leg and a boot scrape across the eyes makes it worse. The neck crank doesn’t do m..

Yes Again: More Very Bad News For Upcoming Independent Event

I wouldn’t call that great. There are a lot of wrestling promotions in the world, with some of them being a lot more well known than others. One thing that they all have in common though is that they all had to start somewhere, because every promotion had its first show at some point. That can be a success or a failure, and we might be seeing a case of the latter in this one. This coming Saturday, July 9, Wrestling Entertainment Series is scheduled to hold its first event at the Motorpoint Arena in Nottingham, England. According to journalist Adam Callier, the event has sold less than 350 tickets for a venue that holds 10,000 people. The event has already been postponed from June and several wrestlers have announced that they will not be at the show on the new date. One, the former Nia Jax, has complained about the show still advertising her despite her making it clear she will not be there. Just been told that this re-arranged show, which still has people advertised on the poster wh..

No, She Won’t: Former WWE Star Slams Independent Show For Falsely Advertising Her

They might want to correct that. There are a lot of wrestling promotions around the world and some of them have been around a lot longer than others. A promotion needs to be able to build up its reputation over the years and that is easier said than done. Every promotion has to start somewhere, but now a new one does not seem to be getting off on exactly the right foot. Lina Fanene, better known as Nia Jax, has sent out a tweet reiterating that she will not be appearing for the Wrestling Entertainment Series event on Saturday July 9. Fanene made it clear that if you buy a ticket, you will not see her perform or have a chance to win a meet and greet with her. The show was rescheduled from June 4 in Nottingham, England with Fanene originally advertised. I do not know why I am still on this poster, but I will REPEAT myself again…I will NOT be at the show. Please do not buy a ticket thinking you will see me perform or get a chance to meet me. I hate that this misleads people! https://t.c..

NXT UK Results – June 30, 2022

NXT UK Date: June 30, 2022 Location: BT Sports Studios, London, England Commentators: Nigel McGuinness, Andy Shepherd We’re back in England and the big story this week is the explanation from Trent Seven, even if it might seem pretty obvious why he turned on Tyler Bate. Other than that, we have Fallon Henley vs. Emilia McKenzie, as the NXT invasion continues. I’m sure this won’t be anything that annoys long term NXT UK viewers so let’s get to it. We open with a recap of Ashton Smith and Oliver Carter vacating the NXT UK Tag Team Titles last week, with Josh Briggs and Brooks Jensen winning them in the show’s main event. Opening sequence. Blair Davenport vs. Angel Hayze This is Davenport’s first match since injuring her ankle in November. Davenport throws her down to start but Hayze grabs a front facelock. That doesn’t last long as Davenport hits a basement dropkick and we hit the chinlock. Some running knees give Davenport two as Nigel gets in a Chamber of Secrets reference. Hayze c..

NXT UK Results – June 16, 2022

NXT UK Date: June 16, 2022 Location: BT Sports Studios, London, England Commentators: Nigel McGuinness, Andy Shepherd It’s a fallout show, as the big story is finding out what is up with Treat Seven walking out on Tyler Bate and Moustache Mountain. That should be a heck of a promo as we get closer to what could be a heck of a showdown. Hopefully the rest of the show can live up to the hype so let’s get to it. Opening sequence. Tiger Turan vs. Josh Morrell Turan takes him down with a hammerlock to start and grabs a wristlock. Morrell can’t flip out so Turan puts on an armbar to keep Morrell in trouble. That’s reversed into a wristlock but Turan flips him right back for a standoff. There’s a suplex to send Morrell down and a high crossbody gives Turan two….but Morrell is hurt and we’re going to stop it at 3:04. Result: Tiger Turan b. Josh Morrell via referee stoppage (3:04) Blair Davenport is coming back from injury. Myla Grace vs. Lash Legend Grace hammers away to start and Legend..

NXT UK Results – June 9, 2022

NXT UK Date: June 9, 2022 Location: BT Sports Studios, London, England Commentators: Nigel McGuinness, Andy Shepherd After last week’s title show, it’s time for another title show, which should make for a big week. This time around we have Meiko Satomura defending the NXT UK Women’s Title against Ivy Nile in a match that could go either way. Other than that, we could be getting some fallout from Moustache Mountain’s issues last week. Let’s get to it. We open with a recap of Ashton Smith/Oliver Carter winning the Tag Team Titles last week. As a result, former champions Moustache Mountain doesn’t seem happy with each other. Opening sequence. Mark Andrews vs. Kenny Williams Williams bails to the floor to start but Andrews follows him outside and starts chopping away. Back in and Williams rakes the eyes to break up the armbar so Andrews twists the knee around the ropes. They go to the apron where Williams snaps the arm down, followed by a snap suplex for two back inside. A belly to ba..

NXT UK Results – June 2, 2022

NXT UK Date: June 2, 2022 Location: BT Sports Studios, London, England Commentators: Andy Shepherd, Nigel McGuinness It’s time for another title match as the Tag Team Titles are up for grabs, this time in a triple threat. Moustache Mountain will be defending against Die Familie and Ashton Smith/Oliver Carter, the latter of whom has been on quite the roll lately. Other than that, we could be in for a bit of anything so let’s get to it. The opening video looks at the Tag Team Title match and how the teams all want to leave with the belts. Opening sequence. Sam Gradwell vs. Von Wagner Wagner gets the better of a slugout to start and some elbow drops have Gradwell breathing rather deeply. A fall away slam drops Gradwell again as commentary puts over Wagner as much as they can. The crossface chickenwing is broken up so Wagner knees him in the back to cut him off again. Gradwell fights out of a bearhug but gets put right back in it just a few seconds later. The second comeback works a bi..
