UFC President Dana White Comments On CM Punk’s MMA Future

It’s not a good sign when your boss says no. Last night at UFC 225, CM Punk went to a decision loss against Mike Jackson in his second career mixed martial arts fight. This was Punk’s second career loss and while he did survive far longer than he did in his first fight, which lasted 2:14, it still wasn’t the prettiest thing in the world. Punk was dominated throughout most of the fight and the fans weren’t the only ones who noticed. According to ESPN.com, UFC President Dana White wasn’t impressed by Punk’s second performance in the organization. After the fight, White was asked about Punk’s performance and made it clear that he thought it was time for Punk to try something else. White did offer Punk praise on a few fronts, but overall he felt that it was time for Punk to call it a career. Here’s what White had to say: “It probably should be a wrap. The guy is 39 years old. Kevin Lee Doesn’t Think Gaethje & Poirier Are On Title Fight Level

Dustin Poirier picked up a fourth round TKO victory over former WSOF Lightweight Champion Justin Gaethje in the main event of UFC On Fox 29. Kevin Lee checked out the main event battle, but feels neither fighter is on that level yet to be challenging for UFC gold. “I seen it,” Lee said on The MMA Hour. “I know Poirier was calling for a title fight and all this but I don’t know, it just seems like those dudes are in a different category. Can you really look at it and say Poirier’s a championship-level fighter? I just don’t see it. He looked good. He did good versus Gaethje, it was an exciting fight, I think he should go out and look for more exciting fights, but it didn’t really seem like a championship-level fight to me to be honest.” Poirier did call for a title shot after the event and UFC President Dana White says he is in the talking for such an opportunity. <p>As previously noted, <strong><a href="http://www.ringsidenews.com/wrestler/triple-h" title="Triple H">Triple H</a></strong> sent out an <a href="http://www.ringsidenews.com/2017/07/12/triple-h-invites-conor-mcgregor-floyd-mayweather-raw/">invitation to Floyd Mayweather and Conor McGregor</a> to add RAW to their promotional tour dates ahead of their boxing match on August 26.</p><p>Apparently fellow UFC Fighter Cris Cyborg <strong><a href="http://www.ringsidenews.com/tag/wants/" title="wants">wants</a></strong> in on that action as well and sent a tweet to Triple H telling him not to let <strong><a href="http://www.ringsidenews.com/wrestler/becky-lynch" title="Becky Lynch">Becky Lynch</a></strong> near her.
