WATCH: Becky Lynch Doing Work For UFC

It’s a side gig. Wrestlers are in a weird place when it comes to being a celebrity. They are on television every week but that does not mean they are going to be seen as stars outside of the wrestling world. There are places where they fit in rather well though, including some other forms of athletics. This includes UFC, where a top WWE star has gotten to help things out a bit. Former Raw and SmackDown Women’s Champion Becky Lynch is featured in a new video hyping up the Conor McGregor vs. Dustin Poirier fight at UFC 264 for BT Sports. In the video, Lynch speaks about McGregor, who is also from Ireland. Lynch has been out of action for over a year on maternity leave, giving birth to her daughter in December. She has recently been training for a return to the ring. This is pretty cool. Exclusive: Colby Covington Calls Conor McGregor A "Coked Up Leprechaun," Says RDA Did Steroids

Colby Covington's months of trash talk -- and in-cage success -- has paid off, and he'll have his first crack at UFC gold in June against Rafael dos Anjos. The fight, originally planned for Brazil, got moved to Chicago for UFC 225 on June 9. When asked by Fightful.com if the Conor McGregor bus attack incident and subsequent reshuffling of several shows played into it, Covington had other theories. "It had nothing to do with the McGregor incident. They wanted this moment in American history to happen on U.S. soil. The filthy animals in Brazil don't deserve it," said Covington. "If we get the steroid version of RDA, it'll probably take me until the second or third round to finish him. If we get the clean version, he's leaving on a stretcher. That's a spoiler for you." Never one to pass up an opportunity to take a shot at a big name, Covington also reacted to the issues McGregor faced in New York. "I was actually getting on a plane to New York as it happ..

Ortega (14-0-0-1NC) has already earned six victories under the UFC banner, last defeating former UFC Lightweight Champion Frankie Edgar by first round knockout at UFC 222. Ortega hasn’t had a bout go the distance in over four years and he has yet to go to a decision while competing in the UFC. Ortega is a former Resurrection Fighting Alliance..

Joe Rogan & Jimmy Smith Blast Conor McGregor Bus Attack During UFC 223

Former UFC Lightweight Champion Conor McGregor and a gaggle of friends attacked a bus full of UFC stars this past Thursday, allegedly trying to get their hands on UFC Lightweight Champion Khabib Nurmagomedov. Joe Rogan took part of the UFC 223 broadcast alongside Jon Anik and Jimmy Smith, offering the following about the bus attack by the Irishman and cohorts. “It’s crazy,” Rogan said during the broadcast. “It’s pathetic, it’s disgusting. I hate it. I hate that it happened. And I hate that it happened, caused by a guy I love. I’m a giant Conor McGregor fan, and to see him step out this badly just really, really upsets me.” The attack by the Irishman and pals lead to the cancellation of three bouts at UFC 223, including Anthony Pettis versus Michael Chiesa, Artem Lobov versus Alex Caceres and Ray Borg versus Brandon Moreno. The Taz Show Recap – NXT Analysis, Kurt Angle Documentary, Where Does Strowman Go From Here? More!

Blocks 1 & 2:

Taz opens today’s show by speaking about the second of four straight press conferences, promoting the upcoming boxing match between Conor McGregor and Floyd Mayweather. He calls these press conferences riveting entertainment, but if they continue to do the exact same thing it’s going to get old rather quickly. He believes that these two are going to have to get physical at the last press conference, just to give the fans something to hold onto as they build towards the fight in August.

A listener calls into the show and says that he wishes WWE would just turn Roman Reigns heel, and he believes that even Reigns wants to turn heel at this point. Taz agrees with the caller, and says that for the longest time he thought Reigns was determined to get over as a babyface, but as of late it sure seems like Reigns has embraced the heel overtones of his character.

Taz wonders if we’ve seen the last of Braun Strowman vs. Roman Reigns, because if WWE wanted to keep Strowman off television for a while they wouldn’t have shown him walking out of ambulance at Great Balls of Fire. The caller says that he has heard rumours that WWE if preparing for a Fatal 4-way match at SummerSlam for Universal Title between Strowman, Reigns, Samoa Joe and Brock Lesnar. Taz says he’ll be surprised if that happens.

Taz expects we’ll see Strowman back on RAW by next Monday, and then we should get some answers as to where WWE is heading with him creatively moving forward.

Becky Lynch Has Words for UFC Fighter Cris Cyborg

As previously noted, Triple H sent out an invitation to Floyd Mayweather and Conor McGregor to add RAW to their promotional tour dates ahead of their boxing match on August 26.

Apparently fellow UFC Fighter Cris Cyborg wants in on that action as well and sent a tweet to Triple H telling him not to let Becky Lynch near her. Triple H Invites Mayweather & McGregor to RAW

Triple H recently spoke with Sky Sports. Here are some highlights from the interview.

The announcement of Floyd Mayweather vs. Conor McGregor in a boxing match: “I think that is the – look I’ll go a step further and say all sports is entertainment, the news is entertainment today, it’s just the way of the world. This is what people do with their time. It’s no different. I think there is an interest level there. Can a world class boxer, probably the best ever, can he stand in the ring with an MMA guy and can that MMA guy bring his striking skills up to the level of someone, like say, a Floyd Mayweather? The one thing it will be, beyond a shadow of a doubt, is entertaining. One thing Floyd Mayweather is, is entertaining. One thing Conor McGregor is, is entertaining, and it’s funny that you say it’s sports entertainment. I’d invite both guys, that really want to showcase what they do, I invite both guys to come to Monday Night RAW because there is no bigger platform that they can have to show the world, and tell the world, who they are and why they’re the man.”

Previously Working With Mayweather: “Yeah, Floyd got involved then. I trained Floyd to step into the ring with The Big Show, which was a big highlight for me, and he did. He got it the ring at our Super Bowl, Floyd is a big fan and has a huge respect for what we do, we have stayed in touch over the years, and here he is getting thrown out of the ring by the Big Show. At the level of athlete that he’s at, for Floyd to agree to that kind of stuff was amazing for us, but you know he’s a huge fan and couldn’t have been more engaged in what we do. The Mayweather / McGregor fight, people can say what they want, but it’ll be entertaining.”

Possibility of doing a match with boxing star Gennady Golovkin (GGG): “It would be the perfect fight, we have a little beef over the three letter thing going on, maybe. It’s funny you should – we had a date at Madison Square Garden for GGG’s last fight and we made an arrangement to allow GGG to have that date for his last fight – there’s a little bit of history there. I’d love to get in the ring with him and see what we can do.”
