Josh Alexander is still the World Champion after retaining over Rich Swann, but now Steve Maclin is waiting on the champ. That should make for a good buildup and they have time to make it work. Last week saw Rich Swann win a #1 contenders match to earn a shot at Josh Alexander later this month, but it still feels like we are coming up on Steve Maclin as the really big bad. Bullet Club vs. Kevin Knight/Kushida Knight and Ace start things off with Bey’s headlock not getting him very far. Knight misses a charge into the corner and Bey stomps him in the back, only to get caught with a springboard spinning crossbody. I’m still not sure why Victory Road was such a necessary show before the biggest night of the year but at least it wasn’t an eventful night, meaning Bound For Glory got even more build. How Sweet It Is: New Super Team Seems To Form On WWE Monday Night Raw

A pair to draw to. WWE has a unique history with tag team wrestling as they very rarely tend to focus on it. Rather than building up traditional teams, WWE tends to like to put two singles wrestlers together as makeshift teams, often leading to major tag matches. That seems to be the case again, as some top stars seem to be coming together on a heck of a collision course. This week on Monday Night Raw, AJ Styles defeated Damian Priest in a singles match. After the match was over, Priest’s partner Edge attacked Styles, with Priest and Edge attempting to further damage Styles’ shoulder. This caused Finn Balor, who has had issues with Edge and Priest in recent weeks, to run in for the save. Balor and Styles, both former members of the Bullet Club, then did the Too Sweet gesture. No match has been made between the two teams. Wrestle Kingdom XVI Night Two Date: January 5, 2022 Location: Tokyo Dome, Tokyo, Japan Attendance: 6,379 Commentators: Chris Charlton, Kevin Kelly It’s the second of three nights of this show and this one feels like the biggest. Last night’s main event saw Kazuchika Okada win the IWGP World Title again, which leaves him ready for his first defense against Will Ospreay. The second biggest match on the card is Kenta defending the United States Title against Hiroshi Tanahashi in a No DQ match, which could be a heck of a fight. Let’s get to it. Emotional Moment Takes Place After AEW Full Gear Wraps Up

The champ is here. There are a lot of things that can change the wrestling landscape and a new World Champion is one of the most important. It can represent a new era for a wrestling promotion, especially if it has been a long time coming. That was the case this weekend, and we did not have to wait long to hear from the new champion, who was still rather emotional. The main event of this weekend’s AEW Full Gear pay per view saw Hangman Page defeat Kenny Omega to become the new World Champion. Following his win, the Dark Order came to the ring to celebrate with him to end the show. After the pay per view went off the air, Page addressed the crowd. Jay White’s recent activities in the United States have heightened his overall exposure for professional wrestling fans. WWE News: Finn Balor Wants To Form A Dream Team

Holy dream team! Tag team wrestling has rarely been WWE’s strong suit. Yes they had a great run back in the 1980s, but other than that and the period of Edge and Christian, the Hardys and the Dudley Boyz, there have not exactly been a lot of great times for WWE’s tag team divisions. They have a tendency to group big names together as bigger tag teams, which one wrestler is teasing doing again. While it has died down a bit in recent years, there was a time when the Bullet Club was the hottest group in professional wrestling. The team went from a group of wrestlers in New Japan Professional Wrestling to one of the biggest things around, to the point where they had quite a bit to do with the rise of AEW. Over the years, the stable has had quite a few members, but now two of them may be up for a WWE reunion. One of the most popular female wrestlers on the independent circuit has now just become a doctor, according to Ringside News. Independent wrestler Britt Baker is no stranger to the WWE world. In fact, her boyfriend in Adam Cole is the current North American Champion within the yellow brand, as his partners hold the NXT Tag Team Championship. Baker, who is scheduled for The Bullet Club’s All In show later this year, has now achieved yet another milestone in her growing career. Baker has graduated from her school and is now a dentist. While she will remain an active wrestler for the foreseeable future, it is nice to know she always has a backup plan in case she ever had to retire from in-ring competition.
