There He Goes: Former WWE Star Now A Free Agent

Catch you down the road. We are in a strange time in wrestling as we are seeing more great action and talented stars than have been around in a long time. The amount of content available at any time has allowed stars to emerge on a variety of stages and many of them have been on television. Now though, one of those names might be on his way to a new location. According to PWInsider.com, W. Morrissey, formerly known as Big Cass in WWE, has finished up with Impact Wrestling with his match on this week’s television show being his last with the company. This comes a little over a year after Morrissey debuted with the company, though he also appeared with AEW earlier this year. There is no word on where he is expected to sign next. Opinion: I’m not sure how surprising this really is as Morrissey was reportedly looking to find his next contract elsewhere. That is a bit of a shame though, as Impact Wrestling might not be the biggest game in town, but they gave Morrissey a chance and that is..

WWE Very Impressed By Appearance Of Former Star

He has their eye. WWE is a rather powerful wrestling promotion and can bring in just about anyone that they want. Other than some top stars who are practically tied to their promotion, most wrestlers will listen when WWE comes calling. That call might come after someone has left WWE in the first place and that might be the case again with a former WWE star. This week’s edition of AEW Dynamite included a surprise appearance from William Morrissey, formerly known as Big Cass during his time in WWE. According to the Mat Men Pro Wrestling Podcast, WWE was impressed by Morrissey’s appearance. There is no guarantee that WWE will be attempting to bring Morrissey back in when his Impact Wrestling contract expires, but they were impressed. Morrissey was released from WWE in June 2018. Opinion: I can’t say I’m surprised that WWE is interested in Morrissey, as he is the kind of person that WWE would absolutely love. What matters most is that Morrissey now seems to be clean and clear of his alco..

William Morrissey Debuts in AEW

The forbidden door continues. Tonight on AEW Dynamite, William Morrissey, known as W. Morrissey in Impact Wrestling, made his debut with the company. He served as MJF’s mystery opponent for Wardlow and would be defeated in his debut. You can see the video of his debut below: [This post contains video, click to play] Morrissey has been with Impact since April 2021, when he was revealed as the surprise replacement for Eric Young in Violent by Design’s match against Chris Sabin, Eddie Edwards, James Storm, and Willie Mack. He is best known for his time in WWE as Big Cass, which is a shortened name of his former ring name, Colin Cassidy. It is unknown at this time if this was a one-off appearance, or if he has signed a deal with the company. Editor’s Opinion: This was a great moment for Morrissey and I’m thrilled that he got his opportunity to wrestle in AEW. I always thought that he had a ton of potential in WWE and it was unfortunate that he was released in the circumstances that ..

AEW Teases Debut Of Another Former WWE Star

Welcome aboard? AEW has changed the way the wrestling world works in a lot of way and that is a good thing. One of the biggest changes has been the introduction of a new place for wrestlers to perform on a big stage, as WWE has dominated the landscape for so long. Now there is a new promotion to work in, and a former WWE star seems ready to come in to AEW. This week on AEW Dynamite, Maxwell Jacob Friedman made a phone call to someone he referred to as “big man”, offering him month to fight Wardlow. Friedman did not mention anyone by name but said that this man was taller than Wardlow before saying “and you can’t teach that”. That is the catchphrase used to describe W. Morrissey, formerly known as Big Cass in WWE, who is currently in Impact Wrestling. Morrissey has never appeared in AEW and assuming he does come in, there is no word on how long he will be appearing for with the company. Opinion: The lack of a name gives me some caution here, as it would not surprise me to see this be ..

There’s Another Big Free Agent Wrestler On The Market

He’s on the market. There are all kinds of wrestlers in the world today and some of them are popping up all over the place. One of the fascinating things about modern wrestling is how many promotions you can see a wrestler work for in a short amount of time. Now that might be the case all over again, as a fairly big star, at least in the literal sense, as someone is on the free agent market. According to Fightful Select, W. Morrissey, formerly known as Big Cass in WWE, is a free agent, as his Impact Wrestling contract has expired. Morrissey is negotiating with Impact Wrestling and hopes to receive a “big money” contract as he feels he has done well in the ring and backstage. It is not clear if Morrissey is with the company full time going forward. Morrissey wrestled for WWE from 2013-2018, mainly teaming with Enzo Amore. Big Cass On What He’s Been Doing Since Being Released And Who He Still Talks To In WWE

Why yes, he does still have a lot to say. Earlier this year, Big Cass was released from WWE in what was probably a bit of a surprise. He had only been been back on the active roster for a few weeks after returning from his torn ACL and just like that he was gone. Even though he’s out of the company, he’s not away from wrestling entirely and that means he has some thoughts on the business. Cass recently appeared on Booker T.’s Heated Conversations podcast and talked about his time away from the WWE. When asked about how much he still follows WWE since his released on June 19, he said that he hasn’t watched WWE whatsoever, to the point where he doesn’t even know who the current champions are. He also mentioned that he still keeps in touch with some of the company’s current stars, who have given him some advice. Here are some highlights, with transcription courtesy of Wrestlinginc.com: On How Far He Is Removed From WWE “One-hundred percent. I haven’t watched SmackDown, Raw, PPV, I haven..

Rumor: Big Cass May Have Injured His Knee Again

Oh boy. As much as medical science has improved over the years, there will always be the possibility that things might not go according to plan. A wrestler returning after being injured may not be completely healthy and could make things even worse by coming back too early. That might make things even worse, possibly even leading to another extended period of time on the injured list. Unfortunately, that might be the case again at the moment in WWE. According to PWInsider by way of ringsidenews.com, Big Cass may have reaggrivated his original recently repaired knee injury. There is a chance that Big Cass injured his knee all over again on the European tour, possibly due to coming back too soon. He was seen limping at recent shows and didn’t appear this week on SmackDown Live. Rumor Killer On Big Cass Injury Reports

Another one bites the dust. The selling of an injury is a dying art in wrestling. While the selling done during the matches themselves isn’t bad, there’s a forgotten aspect to the whole thing: selling the injuries after the match is over. Leaving out the idea of looking and acting injured on the streets, there’s the concept of not just getting out of the ring and walking to the back like nothing happens. It’s rare enough these days that just seeing it happen can still fool the fans, which seems to be the case on the European tour. In case you need something a bit lighter involving wrestling, check this out. According to NoDQ.com, Big Cass was seen limping after a recent match in Amsterdam. This video, which can be seen below, isn’t the best sign as Big Cass is freshly back from a torn ACL that kept him out of action for over six months. However, a new report from Wrestlinginc.com says that this has been the case for every match on the tour as Big Cass is selling the injuries from Dani..
