Tis the season. Wrestling is about having fun and entertaining the fans in one way or another. There are multiple ways to do just that and some of them are a lot goofier than others. At times, the best thing that can be done is just do something entertaining without trying to be overly serious. That took place again this weekend as an annual tradition was brought back. NXT brought back its Halloween costume battle royal over the weekend at a live event in Melbourne, Florida. The match included several women competing for an NXT Women’s Title shot against Mandy Rose in the show’s main event. Thea Hail, who was dressed as Andre Chase, won the battle royal but lost to Rose in the title match. Here are some of the participants, including how their costumes looked: NXT did a Halloween Battle Royal tonight with the women. Some costumes: Cora: AJ Lee Roxanne: Bayley Wendy: Sumo wrestler Valentina: Nurse Thea: Andre Chase Sloane: Poison Ivy Zoey: Triple H Jacy: Taker Gigi: Chucky Sol..
He deserved it. AEW had one of the biggest nights in its history over the weekend with its fourth annual Double Or Nothing event. The show was a star studded card, capped off by CM Punk defeating Hangman Page in the show’s main event. The title change was the only one on the show and felt like an important moment. It turns out that the night wasn’t over just yet. Following the end of the show, Punk grabbed a microphone and thanked the fans for coming to the show and their support over the years. FTR came to the ring to celebrate with Punk, who talked about how the fans helped make them the best in the world. Punk also thanked his wife, AJ Lee, and was put on FTR’s shoulders to celebrate to officially end the show and the night. Opinion: This is the kind of thing that makes for a special ending to the show and it gave the fans a nice sendoff. Punk winning the title really is one of the best things that AEW could have done and it could be quite the important moment’s in the show’s hist..
She has a good reason. With so many wrestlers in the industry today, it can be hard to find one who really stands out. You get one every now and then, but one of the best ways to gain a reputation is to walk away when you are still a major star. That was the case with one of the biggest female names in wrestling back in 2015, but now we know a bit more about why she’s back. Earlier this week, WOW Women of Wrestling announced their return, with the surprise of AJ Mendez being involved as both a color commentator and an executive producer. According to PWInsider.com, Mendez chose to return in this situation because it allowed her to continue with her projects in Hollywood. WOW Women of Wrestling also offered her the chance to be an executive without having to give up much of her schedule, which would not have been the case in WWE or AEW. Mendez will not be able to wrestle due to her neck injuries. Mendez is quite the star to land. Check out what she could do during her in-ring career: ..
Welcome back. There are a lot of people involved in the wrestling industry every day but not everyone is going to stick around. Every now and then you see someone who has a strong career but then walks away from wrestling. That can leave a lot of people wondering what happened to them or if we will ever see them again. Now we will be seeing another former star again, albeit in a different role. Wednesday night, WOW Women of Wrestling announced their return, which will take place in December with a new television show airing in syndication. According to the press release, by way of 411mania.com, former WWE Divas Champion AJ Mendez, formerly known as AJ Lee, will be an executive producer of the series, as well as providing color commentary on the weekly television show. There is nothing to suggest that Mendez will be wrestling again. This will be Mendez’s first involvement in the industry since leaving WWE in 2015. Mendez was a heck of a star in WWE. Check out her time in the ring: [T..
They work well together in various ways. Last month, CM Punk fought and lost his second UFC fight in his home town of Chicago. After the fight was rather underwhelming, it was heavily suggested that Punk needed to either fight somewhere else or move on from fighting altogether. It just wasn’t working for him any longer and that meant he needed to find something else. While wrestling again didn’t seem likely, there was another avenue to take and he seems to be doing just that. According to Wrestlinginc.com, Punk and his wife AJ Lee will be co-starring in the upcoming remake of the 1977 horror film Rabid. The film will star Laura Vandervoort and Ben Hollingsworth with Punk and Lee playing supporting characters. There is currently no word on when the film will be released. Neither Punk nor Lee have any major acting experience outside of a few voiceover roles. Some happier times for the two. [This post contains video, click to play] Opinion: Sure why not. Punk and Lee are a real life ..
After WrestleMania 31, AJ Lee quietly retired from wrestling and has not appeared on WWE programming since. She’s been busy writing her autobiography and becoming an advocate for bipolar disorder awareness. Every so often, she’ll be asked about a return to WWE. Even with everything happening with her husband, you can never say never. According to Mike Johnson of PWInsider, it seems very unlikely the former WWE Divas Champion will return to the company any time soon. AJ mentioned in her book that she made the choice to step away from the ring in 2015 due to some ongoing physical issues. Related: AJ Lee Comments on the Current WWE Women’s Division As a result, it’s unlikely she would return for an extended run. Others have returned for a one-off here and there, but it would take a unique situation to bring AJ back to WWE television. After more than three years away, a huge return could also expose her flaws. AJ Lee was an excellent storyteller and her mic skills were ahead of the cur..
Paige has officially retired from professional wrestling. Four years ago, Paige debuted in WWE and won a championship match against AJ Lee. On Raw, she announced her retirement from professional wrestling due to an injury in the same stadium where she made her 2014 debut. "I want to thank @WWEDanielBryan... he had his first match back at #WrestleMania, and for that you give me hope." - @RealPaigeWWE #RAW #RAWAfterMania pic.twitter.com/2olzbB1Jad — WWE (@WWE) April 10, 2018 She had not competed since last year when she was injured soon after returning to WWE with her new stable Absolution. Since then, she has been accompanying Absolution to the ring but had not directly addressed her retirement. During her tear filled retirement speech, she said she took encouragement from the situations of Daniel Bryan and Edge. She said Bryan gave her hope but Edge showed her that there is more to life outside of WWE. She said she would have to "find something else" to do as a career. Fightf..
[This post contains video, click to play] On the latest episode of Being The Elite on The Bullet Club’s official YouTube channel, Cody [Rhodes] and The Young Bucks confirmed the location for their ‘All In’ event. In the episode, which you can watch above, The Bullet Club confirm that the location of the ‘All In’ event will be the Sears Centre Arena in Hoffman Estates, Illinois on September 1st of this year. The arena is able to seat 11, 000 people and is 25 miles from Chicago, where Phil and April Brooks (CM Punk and AJ Lee) live. It is no secret that The Bullet Club has been intent on having Punk perform for them on the show, and with a location such as this, maybe that could be possible. At this time, there are no card confirmations but Cody, The Young Bucks, Kenny Omega, Hangman Page and ‘Arrow’ star Stephen Amell are all confirmed to appear. At this time, the only exclusion from the card is Flip Gordon as he was defeated at ROH’s ‘Manhatten Mayhem’ show by Cody, with the s..

Meltzer wrote, “That’s why, no matter what is said, WWE wants C.M. During her recent book tour, AJ Lee said that she misses wrestling but her husband does not. It’s also worth noting that Punk is still going through a legal battle with WWE’s doctor Chris Amann, so it looks like a return anytime in the near future won’t be happening.
