Sami Callihan’s run with TNA Wrestling has officially come to an end. Callihan disclosed on Wednesday that he believed he was about to receive a call regarding a potential promotion to lead TNA’s creative team. Instead, he was informed that he was being let go by the company.
According to those familiar with the matter within TNA, both on the stable of talent and staff side, Callihan was highly respected behind the scenes. Adding to the story, fightful Select is reporting that several talents per sources pushed for months to have him in addition mentioned to the creative team, viewing him as a valuable voice for the promotion. In addition to his responsibilities as an agent and producer, he was considered well-liked throughout the locker room.
Following his retirement from active in-ring competition, Callihan on top of that took on a significant role within TNA’s marketing department. He played a key part in the company’s merchandise resurgence and was responsible for designing and producing the majority of TNA’s merchandise over the past year.
Despite his departure from TNA, Callihan will remain busy in the wrestling industry, as he continues to operate and produce events for his independent promotion, Pro Wrestling Revolver.
