Word has come through that Duel Building as of late broke the news that one-time WWE NXT star Patrick Clark, known as The Velveteen Dream, will make his boxing debut against Pillow Talk podcast host Ryan Pownall. This event will take place on Saturday, August 29th, at the Kia Center in Orlando, Florida.
Clark was a contestant on the 2015 season of WWE Intense Enough and subsequently put pen to paper with NXT. He adopted the ring persona of Velveteen Dream in 2017 and went on to win the NXT North American Strap during his time in the promotion.
In 2020, he faced accusations of sending inappropriate images and grooming underage fans, which he dismissed. He was was shown the door by from WWE in May 2021, following these allegations.
