Tetsuya Naito Is The New IWGP Intercontinental Champion

Los Ingobernables de Japon have a new champion among them. On Sunday, New Japan Wrestling held the Hi No Kuni event in Kumamoto, Japan which featured some of the promotion's biggest names and two championship matches. Los Ingobernables de Japon members Evil and Sanada defended their IWGP Heavyweight Tag Team Championship and then in the main event Tetsuya Naito defeated Minoru Suzuki to capture the IWGP Intercontinental Championship giving the stable three current champions among their ranks. Los Ingobernables de Japon will soon be touring North America as part of the Ring of Honor War of the Worlds tour where the promotion will visit four cities in the United States and Canada. This reign is the 2nd time Naito has captured the Intercontinental Championship. He lost the championship last June to Hiroshi Tanahashi after a 259 day reign. Dustin Poirier picked up a fourth round TKO victory over former WSOF Lightweight Champion Justin Gaethje in the main event of UFC On Fox 29.
