Smackdown Women’s Championship Match Set For Survivor Series 2022

November 12, 2022 • Admin

Let the games begin. Tonight on Smackdown, a Six-Pack Challenge match was held to determine who the no. 1 contender for the Smackdown Women’s Championship would be. But who was the winner? Shotzi defeated Liv Morgan, Raquel Rodriguez, Sonya Deville, Lacey Evans, and Xia Li in the match and, as a result, will challenge Ronda Rousey for the Smackdown Women’s Championship at Survivor Series 2022. From WWE.com: Rousey has been dominant since capturing the title from Morgan at WWE Extreme Rules and has added extra security in the form of Shayna Baszler, making her even more dangerous. Can Shotzi dethrone Rousey, or will The Baddest Woman on the Planet once again live up to her moniker? Editor’s Opinion: I am so happy that Shotzi is finally getting to show the world what she can do. She thrived in NXT and I feel was never utilized properly on the main roster while Vince McMahon was in charge. However, Triple H sees something in her, and I’m glad she’s getting the chance to step up again..

WATCH: Several Former Champions Return On WWE SmackDown

November 12, 2022 • Admin

Welcome back. There have been a lot of returns to WWE over the last few months and there is nothing to suggest that they will be ending anytime soon. It can mean a lot to have someone come back to the ring after some time away and sometimes it isn’t even after a major absence. That was the case this week, as multiple stars made returns after hiatuses of varying lengths. In addition to the previously reported Sarah Logan, four former champions also returned to WWE television this week on SmackDown. Logan returned along with former Raw Tag Team Champions the Viking Raiders to attack both Hit Row and Legado del Fantasma. In addition, Jinder Mahal wrestled for the first time since July, losing to Braun Strowman in the first round of the SmackDown World Cup. Commentary mentioned that Mahal had been dealing with a knee injury. Finally, Sheamus returned at the end of the show to attack the Bloodline, who had injured his arm last month. It was a big night. Check out the returns in action: [..

Sarah Logan Makes Her Return To WWE Programming

November 12, 2022 • Admin

She’s back! Tonight on Smackdown, Sarah Logan made her return to WWE after being away from regular programming for over two years. Logan had been teased in recent vignettes with The Viking Raiders, and officially allied herself with the team on tonight’s show. You can see a clip of her return below: [This post contains video, click to play] After The Viking Raiders attacked both Hit Row and Legado Del Fantasma prior to their match against each other, Logan made her way down the entrance ramp and went after B Fab. She would then officially join the Radiers to end the segment. Logan was released from her WWE contract on April 15, 2020, due to budget cuts as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic that was beginning to emerge. She made a surprise return at the 2022 Royal Rumble earlier this year, entering the match at number 25 and briefly reuniting with Liv Morgan. She lasted only 43 seconds, until she was eliminated by The Bella Twins. Editor’s Opinion: Yes! This is awesome! I have alw..

The Usos Make Major WWE History

November 12, 2022 • Admin

Down since Day One. Tonight on Smackdown, The Usos successfully defended their Undisputed Tag Team Championships against the New Day. In doing so, they ensured that they would be making WWE history. This coming Monday, November 14, will mark their 484th day as champions. This means that they will officially become the longest-reigning WWE Tag Team Champions of all time. Jimmy and Jey Uso have held the Smackdown Tag Team Championships since July 18, 2021, when they defeated Rey and Dominik Mysterio at the Money in the Bank premium live event. They would add the Raw Tag Team Championships on May 20 of this year, when they defeated Randy Orton and Matt Riddle (RK-Bro) on an episode of Smackdown. Editor’s Opinion: This is freaking awesome and also very expected. The Bloodline has been the best storyline in professional wrestling over the last several years, and the Usos have firmly established themselves as one of the greatest tag teams of all time. Who knows where this rain could stop..

That’s A Long Time: Bad News On Tommaso Ciampa’s In-Ring Status

November 12, 2022 • Admin

You never want to hear that. Injuries can be a terrible thing in wrestling as they stop anyone’s momentum out of nowhere. One of the worst things about an injury is that you do not know how long someone is going to be out of action and there can be a lot of waiting involved. That is the case again with a WWE star, who will not be returning to the ring anytime soon. IN CASE YOU MISSED IT:Ouch: SmackDown Star Out Of Action Three Months Following Surgery Monday Night Raw star Tommaso Ciampa is currently out of action as he recovers from hip surgery. According to PWInsider.com, there is nothing to indicate that Ciampa will be returning to WWE TV this year. Ciampa has not wrestled a televised match since the August 22 Monday Night Raw, though he has been mentioned during the feud between the Miz and Johnny Gargano. In case you’ve forgotten him. Ouch: SmackDown Star Out Of Action Three Months Following Surgery

November 12, 2022 • Admin

That’s a long time. There are all kinds of injuries that can slow down a wrestler’s career. You never know when you are going to see someone put on the sidelines with something that comes out of absolutely nowhere but it does happen occasionally. That is the situation with a WWE star, who suffered an injury that might not seem serious but is going to keep her out of action for a good while. IN CASE YOU MISSED IT: Logan Paul Suffers Major Injury At WWE Crown Jewel, Could Still Get Worse According to the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Natalya will be out of action for a minimum of three months due to surgery to repair a dislocated nose. Natalya suffered the injury during last week’s SmackDown in a match against Shayna Baszler but because it was not broken, she was able to work last week’s European tour. Her nose will be the same shape and her reported breathing problems have been fixed as well. It was a rough match. Check out Natalya vs. Baszler: [This post contains video, click to p..

We open with a recap of Roman Reigns retaining the World Title over Logan Paul at Crown Jewel. Opening sequence. Tag Team Titles: New Day vs. Usos The Usos are defending. Jey, with his hand taped, starts with Woods and they stare each other down a bit. Woods grabs a headlock as we hear about the histories between the teams. Congratulations! Two Former WWE Stars Get Married

November 11, 2022 • Admin

Good for them! Wrestlers have some very busy schedules and that does not leave them with a lot of free time to do other things. With all of the traveling and wrestling in various places, it can make things more than a little complicated. This includes romance, but there are ways to make it work. Two wrestling stars have managed to make it work in a rather important way. Update On Bandido’s AEW Deal, What Led Him To Sign

November 11, 2022 • Admin

That’s a good reason. The rise of AEW has changed the way wrestling works in a lot of ways. One of the most important has been allowing a variety of wrestlers a new place to go, including some who have never gotten any exposure on a national stage. Wrestlers might be able to pick where they want to go and now we know why one of them made their own choice. IN CASE YOU MISSED IT: AEW’s Television Future Could Be Very Promising Last month, reports surfaced that Bandido had come to terms with AEW despite having interest from WWE. According to the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Bandido chose AEW over WWE because he did not want to move from Mexico. Bandido has a partner and child in Mexico and working full time with WWE would not allow him to see them as often. Bandido’s deal is reportedly for three years and has a maximum number of dates included. Bandido started well in AEW. She’s Back: Wrestling World Reacts To Saraya’s In-Ring Return

November 11, 2022 • Admin

It was a special moment. There are a lot of reasons for a wrestler to have to leave the ring earlier than expected, with injuries or medical issues often being near the top of the list. It can be devastating to see someone have to retire early but every now and then, you see someone get to come back to the ring after retirement. Now we are seeing it again and the wrestling world is reacting. This week on AEW Dynamite, Saraya, formerly known as Paige in WWE, announced that she was cleared to return to the ring and would be facing Britt Baker at Full Gear on November 19. Saraya was forced to retire from the ring in 2018 following a spinal injury, leaving it doubtful that she would ever wrestle again. As a result, several wrestlers and wrestling personalities have thoughts on Saraya’s return to the ring. WRESTLING RUMORS: WWE’s Weird Plan For Roman Reigns To Lose World Title

November 11, 2022 • Admin

That would have been different. Roman Reigns has dominated the WWE landscape for more than two years now and there is nothing to suggest that he is going to be falling from the top anytime soon. WWE has built Reigns up into an all time star and it is not clear who can take one or both World Titles from him. It seems WWE might have had a plan to have him drop one in a bit of a messy way. According to WrestleVotes during an interview with Give Me Sport, WWE had considered a plan to have Reigns lose one of the World Titles to Drew McIntyre at Clash At The Castle in September. The idea would have been to have Austin Theory cash in Money In The Bank for only one of the two titles, turning the match into a triple threat. Then Tyson Fury would have knocked Theory out as he did and McIntyre would have won one of the titles. There is no word on why WWE decided to not run with the idea. The match was a huge battle. Check out how things went down: [This post contains video, click to play] [T..

WRESTLING RUMORS: WWE Could Bring Back Two Former Champions To Work With Bray Wyatt

November 11, 2022 • Admin

He has them in mind. WWE’s roster has been changing a lot in recent months and there is nothing to indicate that those changes are slowing down. Several former stars have returned to the company and it can be fascinating to see who comes back next. One of the biggest names to return is now looking for some help and it turns out he has some people in mind. According to WrestleVotes during an interview with Give Me Sport, Bray Wyatt has some wrestlers he likes working with and given his current popularity, WWE would consider bringing them back in if they were interested. The two names mentioned are Wyatt’s brother Bo Dallas and former Wyatt Family member Erick Rowan. There is currently nothing to suggest that they are back with the company or that they will be returning anytime soon. Rowan left WWE in 2020 and Dallas in 2021. You might not remember them. Check out Dallas and Rowan’s time in WWE: [This post contains video, click to play] [This post contains video, click to play] Op..

Michael Cole Opens Up On WWE After Vince McMahon’s Retirement

November 11, 2022 • Admin

He seems happy. It has been a very busy year in the wrestling world with one major wrestling story after another taking place. The biggest of them all has been the resignation of Vince McMahon from WWE, as the company is now under new control for the first time in decades. It was not clear how much of a difference that would make but now a prominent WWE name is weighing in. WWE broadcaster Michael Cole appeared on the Pat McAfee Show to discuss how the company has changed since McMahon retired. Cole said that everything has been great, especially behind the scenes. He described it as a different world, with ratings and stories being positive. Cole called McMahon “a second dad in many ways” and the only person he had ever worked under in wrestling. Finally, Cole said that things had to keep going though and the show must go on. Cole has been around for a long time. Check out an awesome salute to his career: [This post contains video, click to play] Opinion: It is still weird to see..

Braun Strowman Reportedly Has Backstage Heat Over Recent Comments

November 11, 2022 • Admin

That can cause trouble. A wrestling company’s locker room is like a family in a lot of ways, as the wrestlers see each other so often and are in the same place for such a long time on any given night. While they will often get along well enough, there are going to be some instances where problems come up. Now a wrestler’s comments appear to have gotten him in some hot water. Last Saturday, Braun Strowman defeated Omos at WWE Crown Jewel. Following the match, Strowman took to Twitter to mock wrestlers he described as “flippy floppers” as well as the concept of star ratings. According to Fightful Select, there is backstage heat on Strowman in WWE, as his comments were seen as being immature. There is nothing to suggest that this is an angle or will become an angle. Opinion: I can see how this might not go over so well as it is something that is only going to cause drama. Strowman is a very different style of wrestler who isn’t going to be including many flips, but that does not mean he..

Ric Flair Blasts Fellow WWE Hall Of Famer, “What A Joke!”

November 10, 2022 • Admin

Can’t they all just get along? There have been all kinds of stars throughout the history of WWE, with only a small handful reaching the top of the company. It means a lot to see one of those stars becoming all time legends, meaning they are remembered long after they hang up their boots. At the same time though, not all legends get along and that is the case again, with one having something to say about the other. WWE Hall of Famer Ric Flair took to Twitter this week to bash fell Hall of Famer John Bradshaw Layfield for his history of bullying accusations. Flair said that WWE’s anti-bullying campaign must not apply to Layfield, with Flair naming Joey Styles and “Jason” Roberts (presumably Justin Roberts, who accused Layfield of bullying) as former victims. Layfield currently appears on Monday Night Raw as Baron Corbin’s manager. I Guess The Anti Bullying Program You So Heavily Endorsed Does Not Apply To Bradshaw!! Jason Roberts And Joey Styles!! What A Joke! And He’s In The HOF! Sad!..

Update On Bobby Roode’s Injury Status, Possible WWE Plans

November 10, 2022 • Admin

They might have a plan. With so many wrestlers on the WWE main roster, it can be difficult to keep track of everyone. WWE has enough wrestlers to put them into different distinct rosters. The wrestlers will occasionally move from one roster to another, with some changes coming when someone is coming back from an extended break. That is likely going to be the situation sooner than later. According to PWInsider.com, Bobby Roode was seen in Birmingham, Alabama earlier this week. Birmingham is the location where injured wrestlers go for medical treatment to recover from injuries, including Roode, who underwent surgery in Birmingham a few weeks ago. WWE is hoping that Roode will be back soon and there has been discussion about putting him on SmackDown. Roode has been out of action since late June. Opinion: This is long overdue as Roode has been gone for quite a long time, but there is only so much that can be done if he is injured. The good thing is that it seems like he is on his way bac..

AEW’s Television Future Could Be Very Promising

November 10, 2022 • Admin

That’s a good sign. AEW has come a very long way in a rather short amount of time. The company has only been around for about three and a half years but it is already the second biggest wrestling promotion in the United States. That is in part due to its very strong television presence, and now the agreement that keeps them on the air may be getting even bigger. According to Fightful Select, a source at Warner Brothers Discovery would be “shocked” if AEW does not get a new television deal with the company, but also with a big increase in the rights fee. Warner Brothers Discovery has worked closely with AEW and 2022 was seen as a rebound year for wrestling interest, which has sparked a good relationship. AEW’s current deal expires at the end of 2023. Opinion: That is great to hear, as AEW getting more money and having more ability to move around and try new things is one of the best things that could happen to them. The company needs more money to help fund various things and a rights..

Good For Them! WWE Personality Announces His Wife Is Expecting First Child

November 10, 2022 • Admin

That’s pretty awesome. There are all kinds of people in the wrestling world and all of them have lives going on outside of the ring that we rarely see. They have the same kind of lives that we do, including some things that can be rather positive to hear. Now another WWE personality has some more great news and is sharing his family’s announcement with the world. WWE broadcaster Pat McAfee and his wife Samantha have announced that they are expecting their first child in may. Samantha revealed that she has lost two pregnancies in the past and this one was conceived via IVF. Pat thanked everyone who has helped them through the rough times to get to this point, including friends and family. Pat is currently on hiatus from his job as SmackDown commentator and is expected back after college football season ends. After about 150 shots, a surgery, a transfer, countless blood tests, waiting on embryos, genetic testing, hoping for a big fat positive on a pee stick. So much support from family..
