He wants back in. The biggest wrestling story in a busy 2022 was the retirement of Vince McMahon from WWE. After nearly forty years in charge of the company, McMahon retired amid an internal investigation over a series of payments but still remained the company’s majority owner. However, now something else has chanced and we could be in for something very different. IN CASE YOU MISSED IT: Over There: WWE Taking Annual Event To London Later This Year Last month, a report stated that McMahon was planning a comeback to WWE. According to the Wall Street Journal, McMahon is attempting to have himself and former co-WWE Presidents Michelle Wilson and George Barrios elected to the WWE Board of Directors. This would require three current Board members to vacate their positions. McMahon has also said he will not support any media rights deal (with negotiations expected to begin before the current deals expire in 2024) or sale of the company. McMahon has issued a press release: Submits written..

REVIEW: WWE Day One: And It’s One Day

January 5, 2023 • Admin

Welcome to KB’s Old School (and New School) Reviews. I’ve been reviewing wrestling shows for over twelve years now and have reviewed over 6,000 shows. Every Monday, Wednesday and Friday, I’ll be posting a new review here on Wrestlingrumors.net. It could be anything from modern WWE to old school to indies to anything in between. Note that I rate using letters instead of stars and I don’t rate matches under three minutes as really, how good or bad can something that short be? Day One 2022 Date: January 1, 2022 Location: State Farm Arena, Atlanta, Georgia Commentators: Michael Cole, Pat McAfee, Jimmy Smith, Corey Graves, Byron Saxton It’s the first show of the year and as interesting as that is, everything has changed at the very last minute. Universal Champion Roman Reigns has announced that he has tested positive for Coronavirus, meaning that he is out of his title defense against Brock Lesnar. Worry not though, as Lesnar is now in a five way for the WWE Title. Let’s get to it. Kicko..

The best of several worlds. There are all kinds of wrestling promotions throughout the world, from the biggest companies around to some rather small independents and all points in between. Every now and then you get to see these promotions doing something together and now that is the case again, albeit this time there were three major companies recreating something from the past. IN CASE YOU MISSED IT: WRESTLING RUMORS: More Evidence WWE Is Teasing A Hurt Business Reunion Earlier this week, New Japan Pro Wrestling held its annual Wrestle Kingdom event, featuring wrestlers from AEW. The event also included the debut of former WWE star Sasha Banks, now known as Mercedes Mone. Current WWE star Bayley accompanied her for the debut, though she did not appear on television. Dax Harwood posted a photo of the four together this week, as compared to the four together at some point in their WWE/NXT career. The important piece. There have been a lot of stables throughout WWE’s history but most of them follow a fairly standard formula. Most WWE stables are focused around one major star, with other smaller stars supporting them. Without the right balance, the stable is rarely going to work, meaning it has to be put together correctly. It seems a possibly returning stable is working to get the right centerpiece. IN CASE YOU MISSED IT: International Incident: WWE Star Loses Title At Major International Event Earlier this week on Monday Night Raw, a backstage segment showed MVP talking to former Hurt Business members Shelton Benjamin and Cedric Alexander. According to Wrestlingnews.co, MVP recently asked Adam Pearce (also in the segment with Benjamin and Alexander) about fellow Hurt Business member Bobby Lashley. There is no word on when or if the Hurt Business could reform. That could make for a heck of a team. Check out the Hurt Business in action: [This post contains video, click to pla..

It had to happen eventually. There are all kinds of titles in wrestling and some of the most well known are in WWE. Those are not all of the titles around the world though as other promotions have championships and honors of their own. Welcome home. There were a lot of changes to the WWE landscape in 2022 and there is nothing to suggest that those changes will be ending in the new year. WATCH: Huge Title Change Takes Place On AEW Dynamite

Hand it over. Titles are the most important part of any wrestling promotion and give the fans a good baseline of what they are seeing. A wrestler holding a championship means that they are one of the most important people in the company. As a result, a title change can be a big deal and that is what we saw this week, as a former champion got the gold back around his waist. IN CASE YOU MISSED IT: WATCH: Sasha Banks Makes New Japan Debut, First Match Set The main event of this week’s edition of AEW Dynamite saw Darby Allin regain the TNT Title from Samoa Joe in Allin’s hometown of Seattle, Washington. Allin previously held the title for a record 186 days, with a reign lasting from November 2020 – May 2021. It was pretty awesome. Dynamite Date: January 4, 2023 Location: Climate Pledge Arena, Seattle, Washington Commentators: Tony Schiavone, Excalibur, Taz We’re in a new year and the big story is a new look for the show. That is somewhat long overdue and the question is will AEW have a good show to back it up. There is a new set with new graphics. Chris Jericho vs. Ricky Starks Feeling out process to start with Starks slapping him in the face and pounding away in the corner. New home. There have been a lot of comings and goings with the WWE roster in recent months and those changes are likely to continue. One of the interesting things about the departures winds up being where someone winds up next. That can make for a great moment, even if you know someone is going to wind up. WRESTLING RUMORS: Major Title Change Planned Before WrestleMania 39

It’s time to have the plans ready. We are less than three months away from WrestleMania 39 and that means it is time to start getting everything set up for the show. With the event taking place over two nights, WWE has to put twice as much together as it does for normal events. It helps to start with the bigger things and now it seems that the company has plans for some of its top title matches. IN CASE YOU MISSED IT: Get Well Soon: WWE Star Reveals Being “Very Sick” During Absence According to Fight Fans, Raw Women’s Champion Bianca Belair will be losing her title at some point before WrestleMania 39, with Becky Lynch becoming champion in some way. This is meant to set up a Lynch vs. Rhea Ripley title match at WrestleMania, with seeds being planted by way of a staredown on the December 5, 2022 Monday Night Raw. This will reportedly free up Belair to challenge Charlotte for the SmackDown Women’s Title, which she won last week in an impromptu title match against Ronda Rousey. There is..

Get Well Soon: WWE Star Reveals Being “Very Sick” During Absence

She’s working on it. There are all kinds of reasons for a wrestler to be absent from television and some of them are more common than others. You will see some wrestlers away for reasons that would only apply to wrestling but every now and then it is something that run of the mill people go through every day. That seems to be the situation for another missing WWE star. IN CASE YOU MISSED IT: Back Soon: Major Update On Group Of Missing WWE Superstars Doudrop has not wrestled on WWE television since the September 6, 2022 edition of NXT. A fan recently asked Doudrop where she had been, with Doudrop responding that she was “very sick” but she is healing. There is no word on what was wrong with Doudrop or when she might be back to action. This comes just after reports that Doudrop and other former NXT UK wrestlers are dealing with visa issues. Back Soon: Major Update On Group Of Missing WWE Superstars

January 4, 2023 • Admin

That’s an explanation. There is a lot of fun to be had in wrestling and a good bit of that comes from seeing your favorite wrestlers getting the chance to appear on television. With so many wrestlers to pick from, it can be a lot of fun to see them show up from week to week. At the same time, it can be annoying when they miss time. That is the case with several WWE wrestlers but now we know a bit more about what is going on. IN CASE YOU MISSED IT: Keep On Coming: Important Update On The Bloodline’s Future According to Wrestling Observer Radio, several former NXT UK talents are still in Europe as they deal with their visa issues. This includes (but is not limited to) names such as Tyler Bate, Doudrop, Gallus and Blair Davenport. There is no word on when they will be allowed to return to the United States. All have appeared on WWE television in one way or another, with Gallus being written off with a storyline suspension. There is a lot of talent here. Check out the missing wrestlers ..

Keep On Coming: Important Update On The Bloodline’s Future

January 4, 2023 • Admin

They’re special. WWE is set up with all kinds of wrestlers and various groups, almost all of which are divided between Monday Night Raw and SmackDown. Most of the wrestlers are stuck on one show most of the time, but there are occasions when someone will move over to another roster. There are certain people this does not apply to though and that will continue to be the case for the time being. IN CASE YOU MISSED IT: Uh Oh? Seth Rollins Sends Out Worrying Tweet Referencing Major Injury One of the continuing stories over the last several months in WWE has seen the Bloodline appear on both Monday Night Raw and SmackDown to continue their storyline. This has led to other wrestlers that the team is feuding with to appear on other shows as well. According to Fightful Select, this will be continuing for various wrestlers on the WWE roster, especially including the Bloodline. The Bloodline has been all over the place. Uh Oh? Seth Rollins Sends Out Worrying Tweet Referencing Major Injury

January 4, 2023 • Admin

That’s not a good sign. Injuries are one of the worst things that you can see in the wrestling world as you never know when someone is going to be taken out of the ring for a long time. A wrestler can be hurt out of nowhere and the question becomes how long they are going to be gone. This week saw a WWE star possibly get hurt and now we might be getting a flashback. IN CASE YOU MISSED IT: He’s Back? Update On Return Of Injured WWE Superstar The main event of this week’s Monday Night Raw saw Seth Rollins fail to regain the United States Title from Austin Theory. Following the show, Rollins’ knee, which had been worked on during the match, gave out and he had to be helped to the back. Rollins has since sent out a tweet saying “Redesign. Rebuild. Reclaim.” This is the same message that Rollins sent out after he tore his ACL in 2015. There is no word on if Rollins is actually injured or if this is part of a storyline. Redesign. Rebuild. Reclaim. — Seth “Freakin’” Rollins (@WWERollins) ..

Welcome back. There are all kinds of wrestlers on the WWE roster, to the point where it can be difficult to keep track of everyone. It makes things even more complicated when someone leaves television for one reason or another, which happens every so often. A current WWE star is gone, but now we have a better idea of when he might be back in the ring, albeit maybe not on television. IN CASE YOU MISSED IT: No More: How Vince McMahon Has Been Almost Totally Removed From WrestleMania 39 Back in December 2022, Matt Riddle was written off television with an injury at the hands of Solo Sikoa, with WWE saying that he would be gone for six weeks. No More: How Vince McMahon Has Been Almost Totally Removed From WrestleMania 39

January 4, 2023 • Admin

There’s some fallout. The biggest change in the wrestling world in 2022 was Vince McMahon retiring from WWE after nearly forty years in charge of the company. That is the kind of shakeup that you never see in wrestling and it has caused a variety of changes for WWE. One of the biggest changes is still ongoing though and it involves one of McMahon’s greatest creations. IN CASE YOU MISSED IT: WATCH: Seth Rollins Possibly Injured On Monday Night Raw According to Fightful Select, everything that McMahon had in mind for WrestleMania 39 is no longer planned for the show. This includes the ideas of John Cena vs. Logan Paul, Becky Lynch vs. Ronda Rousey and possibly Cody Rhodes challenging for the WWE Title, though that idea was never officially pitched to WWE creative. There have been some matches rumored for WrestleMania, but nothing has officially been announced so far. WrestleMania 39 takes place on April 1 and 2.
