Major Spoiler for Tonight’s WWE Battleground Event
<p>Apparently there has been a huge shift in the betting odds for tonight’s WWE Battleground 5-Way Elimination match featuring Charlotte, Becky Lynch, Tamina, <strong><a href="http://www.ringsidenews.com/wrestler/natalya" title="Natalya">Natalya</a></strong> and <strong><a href="http://www.ringsidenews.com/wrestler/lana" title="Lana">Lana</a></strong>.</p><p>While Charlotte has been the majority favorite to win the bout, there was a huge shift late last night that now puts Natalya in the lead to be victorious in the match tonight. Dave Meltzer discussed the shift on today’s installment of Wrestling Observer Radio and mentioned that at one point the match was removed off the boards because all kinds of money was coming in all at once on Natalya. The odds have since then been adjusted with Natalya being the favorite.</p><p>If Natalya wins, she will be facing <strong><a href="http://www.ringsidenews.com/wrestler/naomi" title="Naomi">Naomi</a></strong> at SummerSlam for the SmackDown Women’s Championship.</p>
Baron Corbin Responds to Fan that Threatens to Cancel WWE Subscription
<p>When an individual on Twitter mentioned that he might cancel his WWE subscription because of <strong><a href="http://www.ringsidenews.com/wrestler/baron-corbin" title="Baron Corbin">Baron Corbin</a></strong>’s push, Corbin responded to the fan with the following remarks:</p><p>In the past, Corbin has always been very vocal to fans that say things that get under his skin.</p>
Charlotte Claims She Would Beat Ronda Rousey In A Wrestling Match
<p>Charlotte recently spoke to Noelle Foley for Ringside Collectibles. Here are some highlights from the interview:</p><p><strong>Possibility of holding the NXT, RAW and Smackdown Women’s titles in her career:</strong> “Honestly, I wouldn’t have the opportunity or the ability if it wasn’t for all the amazing women that I work with. I mean, it means a lot to me, it’s <strong><a href="http://www.ringsidenews.com/tag/crazy/" title="crazy">crazy</a></strong>, I don’t know. It’s my passion, it’s what I love doing and I literally dedicate almost every second of the day thinking about work.”</p><p><strong></strong><strong><a href="http://www.ringsidenews.com/go/wrestlemania" target="_blank" title="Wrestlemania">Wrestlemania</a></strong> match with Ronda Rousey: “Well, I would say that I would still have the undefeated PPV streak, but <strong><a href="http://www.ringsidenews.com/wrestler/bayley" title="Bayley">Bayley</a></strong> crushed that. I would win, and I would show her who the real Four Horsewoman is.”</p><p><strong>Mae Young Classic:</strong> “I sat in the audience – both days – and watched every single match. Especially [because] I had a different background and to watch these women who have traveled all over the world, living their dream and then seeing them in the NXT ring, knowing that their dream is being fulfilled. It’s one more step in the women’s revolution, but it’s also showing the world that we could have a full show of just women. NXT Superstar Possibly Injured at Live Event
<p><strong><a href="http://www.ringsidenews.com/wrestler/buddy-murphy" title="Buddy Murphy">Buddy Murphy</a></strong> may have suffered some sort of ankle or leg injury at Thursday’s NXT Live Event in Cocoa, Florida.</p><p>Our correspondent at the event mentioned that Murphy went down after a bad landing on his ankle in the main event tag match match. A WWE trainer came out and talked to Murphy for a few minutes. Murphy looked as if he wanted to continue the match but Referee Drake Wuertz came down shortly after and talked Murphy into going to the back to get checked out. Murphy left his partner shortly before the half-way point of the match, forcing Ohno to work the match by himself against <strong><a href="http://www.ringsidenews.com/wrestler/hideo-itami" title="Hideo Itami">Hideo Itami</a></strong> & The Velveteen Dream.</p><p>Here is a <strong><a href="http://www.ringsidenews.com/tag/photo/" title="photo">photo</a></strong> of Murphy before he headed to the back:</p><p></p>
Alberto El Patron Stepping Down as Combates America President
<p>Combate C.E.O. Campbell McLaren stated in a recent interview that Alberto El Patron (Jose Rodriguez) will be stepping down from his figurehead role as the president of Combate Americas, according to <a href="http://fightnetwork.com/law/combate-americas-c-e-o-states-alberto-el-patron-to-step-down-as-president/" rel="nofollow" target="_blank">The Fight Network</a>.</p><p><em>“He’s probably stepping back his official roles from Combate and he’s going to focus on more on wrestling for the next year or two. It’s a very challenging enterprise and I <strong><a href="http://www.ringsidenews.com/tag/think/" title="think">think</a></strong> it’s very, very hard on the body and difficult to do. Very physical, very athletic, so I he’s kind of <strong><a href="http://www.ringsidenews.com/tag/asked/" title="asked">asked</a></strong> me if he can step away and with Saraya, focus on wrestling”.</em></p><p>As previously noted, Patron was suspended by Global Force Wrestling following reports of a domestic battery incident at the Orlando International Airport earlier this month.</p>
Possible Spoiler on the Mystery Team for WWE Battleground
<p>As seen on Tuesday’s SmackDown Live, WWE announced that the conclusion of The Fashion Files will take <strong><a href="http://www.ringsidenews.com/tag/place/" title="place">place</a></strong> at Sunday’s WWE Battleground event.</p><p>Dave Meltzer mentioned on today’s installment of Wrestling Observer Radio that the mystery team behind the segments will possibly be revealed as <strong><a href="http://www.ringsidenews.com/wrestler/luke-harper" title="Luke Harper">Luke Harper</a></strong> and Eric <strong><a href="http://www.ringsidenews.com/tag/rowan/" title="Rowan">Rowan</a></strong>. Meltzer mentioned that neither one of them haven’t been used on television for a while and this would be a good opportunity to bring them back.</p><p>Meltzer also said that there is always the chance that they could bring up a team from NXT such as Sanity to be revealed as the mystery team.</p>
Global Force Wrestling Taking 10 Percent Cut of Talent’s Money
<p>The Wrestling Observer Newsletter reports that most of the talent that has signed with Global Force Wrestling are forced to give the company a ten percent cut of all their independent date money.</p><p>Also, talents will not receive a cut from any merchandise sold with their likenesses that is sold directly by Global Force Wrestling.</p>
Vince McMahon Not the Primary Reason for Talking Smack’s Cancellation
<p>It was reported <a href="http://www.ringsidenews.com/2017/07/16/real-reason-talking-smack-canceled/">last week via Sports Illustrated</a> that one of the reason’s Talking Smack was canceled was because <strong><a href="http://www.ringsidenews.com/wrestler/vince-mcmahon" title="Vince McMahon">Vince McMahon</a></strong> was not a fan of the format, however those claims appear to be <strong><a href="http://www.ringsidenews.com/tag/false/" title="false">false</a></strong>.</p><p>Dave Meltzer received word from a source within WWE that the cancellation of the weekly show had nothing to do with Vince McMahon not liking the format but to do with the viewership numbers the show was receiving.</p><p><em>“Despite all rumors, Vince doesn’t hate Talking Smack. Also, he does not watch it but gets a weekly report about it every Wednesday. The one thing he didn’t like was when the New Day appeared <strong><a href="http://www.ringsidenews.com/tag/right/" title="right">right</a></strong> after Kofi (Kingston) got cleared (the 5/23 episode). That was technically their Tuesday night debut and Vince felt the first Tuesday appearance should have happened on Smackdown.”</em></p><p>As previously noted, the Talking Smack episodes will still air after SmackDown-brand pay-per-view events, as those numbers seem to perform well.</p>
Brock Lesnar Not Re-Signing with WWE Next Year?
<p>It was reported earlier today that <a href="http://www.ringsidenews.com/2017/07/19/brock-lesnar-dropping-wwe-universal-title-summerslam-returning-ufc/" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">Brock Lesnar has re-entered the USADA testing pool</a> for MMA and he could possibly be fighting for the UFC before the year ends.</p><p><a href="http://www.prowrestlingsheet.com/brock-lesnar-usada-options-contract/#.WW_Tb4jys2w" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">Pro Wrestling Sheet</a> reports that Lesnar’s current deal with WWE expires shortly after <strong><a href="http://www.ringsidenews.com/go/wrestlemania" target="_blank" title="WrestleMania">WrestleMania</a></strong> 34 and he has made it clear to the company that he doesn’t intend to re-sign. <strong><a href="http://www.ringsidenews.com/tag/bryan/" title="Bryan">Bryan</a></strong> Alvarez indicated on Wrestling Observer Live today that this is probably why <strong><a href="http://www.ringsidenews.com/wrestler/Roman-Reigns" title="Roman Reigns">Roman Reigns</a></strong>’ match against Lesnar is being moved up to SummerSlam instead of it taking place at WrestleMania.</p><p>The reason Lesnar has re-entered the testing pool is so that he can make the right career decision about his career move when his WWE deal runs up. Lesnar has to re-enter the testing pool and fulfill the rest of his suspension before he is allowed to fight in the UFC again.</p>
Rusev Jokes About Shane McMahon’s Helicopter Crash

Shane McMahon Survives Helicopter Crash Landing
<p>A small helicopter with two people aboard made a <strong><a href="http://www.ringsidenews.com/tag/crash/" title="crash">crash</a></strong> landing in the waters off of Gilgo Beach this morning, according to <a href="http://abc7ny.com/news/helicopter-makes-crash-landing-in-waters-off-gilgo-beach/2233003/" rel="nofollow" target="_blank">ABC7NY.com</a>.</p><p>The Robinson R 44 helicopter landed on its pontoon skids just before 10:30AM ET. The individuals on board were wearing life jackets and were uninjured in the crash. <strong><a href="http://www.ringsidenews.com/tag/shane/" title="Shane">Shane</a></strong> McMahon was revealed as one of the passengers on the helicopter.</p><p>Here are some tweets from readers who caught Shane on the news:</p>
Paige Might Be Charged With Battery Over Airport Incident
<p><a href="http://www.prowrestlingsheet.com/paige-police-suggest-charged-airport/#.WW-qGIjys2z" rel="nofollow" target="_blank">Pro Wrestling Sheet</a> reports that <strong><a href="http://www.ringsidenews.com/wrestler/paige" title="Paige">Paige</a></strong> could possibly be charged with battery in the incident that involved Alberto El Patron at the airport a few <strong><a href="http://www.ringsidenews.com/tag/weeks/" title="weeks">weeks</a></strong> back. It will be up to the State Attorney’s office to make the final decision.</p><p>El Patron was originally being investigated for the charge and his investigation is still not complete. A representative from the Orlando PD told the site the following statement:</p><p><em>“OPD detectives have <strong><a href="http://www.ringsidenews.com/tag/found/" title="found">found</a></strong> that probable cause exists to charge Saraya Bevis with Battery (Domestic Violence). Detectives have sent the information to the State Attorney’s Office for review and the SAO will determine whether to file charges in the case.”</em></p>
