Rumor: Andrade Cien Almas Reportedly Not Happy With Position In WWE

December 23, 2018 • Admin

Can you blame him? Earlier this year, Andrade Cien Almas and Zelina Vega were still down in NXT, where Almas was defending the NXT Title against Johnny Gargano at Takeover: Philadelphia in an instant classic. The call to the main roster came a few months later just after WrestleMania 34, but it hasn’t exactly gone well since then. As it turns out, Almas has noticed what’s been happening. According to a report by Super Luchas by way of Wrestlingnews.co, Almas isn’t happy with his current placement in WWE. Almas was called up to the main roster in early April but didn’t wrestle on SmackDown Live for over a month. In his time on the main roster, he has wrestled less than twenty times on television with no title shots and hasn’t won a match since September 11, when he defeated R-Truth on SmackDown Live. Rush, a current star in Mexico, was offered a WWE contract and turned it down due to what has happened to Almas in WWE. Yeah there’s no way to use this guy. Check out this great match wit..

December 23, 2018 • Admin

Well now that it’s Sunday. WWE’s production staff really is one of the best of all time. They know how to put things together that almost no other wrestling company can, partially because they have more resources than few others could ever hope to have. That allows them to pull off some absolutely incredible stuff, and the fact that it’s the holiday season makes it all the better. This is just great. Check out what WWE can do when they put their minds to it: [This post contains video, click to play] WWE has released a new video previewing this week’s Monday Night Raw, but with quite the twist. In this case, the preview is set up as a new version of A Visit From St. Nicholas, better known as Twas The Night Before Christmas. Opinion: This is just cool and something that you don’t get to see often enough. It ..

They Cracked Kris’ Kringle! Check Out The Best Santa Claus Attacks In WWE History.

December 23, 2018 • Admin

Not the beard! Not the beard! It’s Christmas time and that means one thing in WWE: Santa Claus is going to get beaten up in one way or another. This is something that has happened for years in WWE and it’s not going to be shocking when it happens again. All kinds of wrestlers have done this over the years and I think you know where this is going to go. There’s no easy way around this. Take a look at various times Santa Claus has taken a beating: [This post contains video, click to play] On its Instagram page, WWE has posted a new video looking at the Top Five instances of Santa Claus Getting Beaten Up. These include instances ranging from a superstar beating him up for no apparent reason, a sanctioned match, and near vehicular homicide. The list ranges back over twenty years and doesn’t even include every time that Santa Claus has appeared in WWE. Opinion: Only WWE and that might be literal in this case. For some reason they find great job in tormenting Santa Claus, all the way dow..

Watch Braun Strowman Interview Will Ferrell And John C. Reilly

December 22, 2018 • Admin

With great status comes bigger interviews. Braun Strowman has had an incredible few years, rising from little more than a lackey to Bray Wyatt to one of the biggest stars in the company. As his status has risen in WWE, it has led to a few extra perks as well, including an appearance in the upcoming film Holmes & Watson. Since he’s still a WWE star though, he’s been able to bring some of the movie to the company. Hopefully there is no hand getting involved. Check out Strowman sitting down with some big named co-stars: [This post contains video, click to play] In a new video posted to WWE’s YouTube channel, Strowman interviews co-stars John C. Reilly and Will Ferrell, along with Rebecca Hall and Lauren Lapkus. The interviews are more comical in nature with Strowman asking the two pairs questions about wrestling, including whether Reilly and Ferrell would like to do something in WWE and a short game about what Strowman has actually done in WWE. Opinion: There isn’t much to be said he..

Video: Ten WWE Records Set In 2018

December 22, 2018 • Admin

They’re made to be broken. Wrestling records date back a very long time. It could be the length of a title reign, the most wins at an event, or the most times winning a championship, but you could go on forever with these things. There are some that are more famous than others, but they’re broken and set every single year, including several in 2018. You could set your own record. Like watching this cool video the most times ever: [This post contains video, click to play] WWE has posted a new episode of List This, looking at 10 WWE Records That Were Broken In 2018. These include individual records both on pay per view and television, with everything from endurance records to title records. The records also include a combination of both one night records and records that took years to establish, with one dating back over twenty five years. Opinion: I love this kind of stuff and while some of the stats might be a bit of a stretch (I’m still not clear on what the modern era of WWE is ..

It Hasn’t Been That Long. WWE Changes Course On Royal Rumble Match.

December 22, 2018 • Admin

If you can’t trust your own show, who can you trust? WWE has a lot of television shows, to the point where you might not even know all of them off the top of your head. One of the lesser known shows is Main Event, which is typically just a recap show. As it turned out though there might have been some breaking news on this week’s episode. Amazingly enough, that turned out to be premature. Just yesterday, it was reported that Asuka vs. Becky Lynch for the SmackDown Women’s Title had been confirmed for next month’s Royal Rumble on Main Event. WWE has already started walking back the news, even though it aired on its own television show. Former General Manager Paige has already announced a retraction on Twitter, acknowledging that the match was announced but saying that she didn’t have the authority to make the match anymore. Soooo I tried to make one last match before my time as #SDLive GM came to end…but unfortunately @BeckyLynchWWE vs. @WWEAsuka for the Smackdown Women’s Championship..

Here’s When Brock Lesnar Will Be Back On Monday Night Raw

December 22, 2018 • Admin

Happy early Christmas maybe? It’s been a little while since we’ve seen Brock Lesnar (ignoring how long it’s been since his Universal Title has been on the line) anywhere on WWE TV, let alone on Monday Night Raw. It might be nice to have someone that important on the biggest wrestling show in the world, and now it’s going to be happening in the pretty near future. According to the Twitter account of the Chesapeake Arena in Oklahoma City, Lesnar will be appearing on Monday Night Raw on January 21, 2019. This is the go home show for the Royal Rumble, where Lesnar is scheduled to defend his title against Braun Strowman. While Lesnar isn’t scheduled to appear for nearly a month, Paul Heyman is scheduled for next week’s Monday Night Raw. OKC – we’re getting an early Christmas present! @BrockLesnar returns to Monday Night RAW in Oklahoma City on January 21! You can still get your tickets at https://t.co/wvCEF94e8w pic.twitter.com/dXIcR0AQIS — Chesapeake Arena (@ChesapeakeArena) December 2..

Ring of Honor TV Results – December 19, 2018

December 22, 2018 • Admin

Ring of Honor Date: December 19, 2018 Location: Stage AE, Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania Commentators: Ian Riccaboni, Colt Cabana, Caprice Coleman So Final Battle has come and gone but around here….actually you know what I’m going to say here so I’m not even going to bother. It’s going to be a stand alone match tonight, but there’s a chance that we’re going to be seeing something Christmas related. That kind of show has been hit or miss in wrestling history but hopefully it works well here. Let’s get to it. Tonight, Jay Lethal and Matt Taven will be captains in the Christmas Surprise ten man tag. They’ll both be opening presents to find out who their partners will be. Lethal is happy but Taven only wants the rest of the Kingdom on his team because he hates surprises. Opening sequence. Twisted Sisterz vs. Britt Baker/Madison Rayne That would be Thunder Rosa and Holidead, who jumped Baker and Rayne at Survival of the Fittest to set this up. Baker is a hometown girl and rather over as you m..

The Spoils Of Change. A Few Storylines Have Been Dropped Due To Vince McMahon’s Announcement.

December 22, 2018 • Admin

The more things change, the more they’re not the same. Earlier this week on Monday Night Raw, Vince McMahon and his family showed up to change things in WWE. While the official announcement was focused around the idea of the family taking over the weekly television shows, there were a few more things that were changed over the course of both Monday night and the next night on SmackDown Live. According to Dave Meltzer of F4Wonline.com by way of NoDQ.com, there have been a host of storylines dropped (some with or without explanation) as a result of the change. Some of these include Alexa Bliss being in charge of the Monday Night Raw women’s division, Shane McMahon’s heel turn (which never got started), Lucha House Party rules (addressed on Monday) and Paige as the SmackDown Live General Manager (addressed on Tuesday, and likely due to needing her to do publicity work for the upcoming Fighting With My Family movie). At least this got an explanation. Here’s how Paige left her job on Smac..

Velveteen Dream Might Be In Trouble

December 22, 2018 • Admin

Is it a bad dream? Over the last few years, few superstars have risen faster than the Velveteen Dream. He’s gone from what felt like a joke of a talent to a heck of a performer and one of the most popular heroes in NXT. His work has been incredible and he has more charisma than he knows what to do with, but there might be a bit of a roadblock on his path towards the top of NXT. According to Dave Meltzer of F4Wonline.com by way of NoDQ.com, Velveteen Dream may be in trouble over a recent string of tweets that he sent out and then deleted, where he complained about not being called up to the main roster yet. Velveteen Dream has tweeted some controversial statements and since deleted them before so it is likely the subject that got him in trouble this time. It hasn’t been limited to Twitter either, as Velveteen Dream wore tights at Takeover: Brooklyn IV that said “CALL ME UP VINCE!”. Dig those tights! Oh and check out a good match: [This post contains video, click to play] Opinion: I..

205 Live Results – December 19, 2018

December 21, 2018 • Admin

205 Live Date: December 19, 2018 Location: Save Mart Center, Fresno, California Commentators: Vic Joseph, Nigel McGuinness, Percy Watson Well with the most recently title match out of the way, things are starting to get back to normal around here. That doesn’t mean we don’t have anything big planned for tonight though, with a street fight between Akira Tozawa/Brian Kendrick vs. Jack Gallagher/Drew Gulak. Tozawa and Kendrick had a great street fight last year and this has the potential to be incredible as well. Let’s get to it. We open with a recap of Buddy Murphy retaining the Cruiserweight Title over Cedric Alexander at TLC. This leads into the regular preview of tonight’s show. Opening sequence. Here are Hideo Itami and Ariya Daivari for a chat. Daivari is extra serious tonight as he tells everyone to SHUT THEIR MOUTHS and show Hideo respect. He can’t sit idly by while a legend like Itami is ignored around here. Itami hasn’t had any real competition for two months so until that i..

The McMahon Family’s Return: WWE’s Fresh Start or Recycled Storytelling?

December 21, 2018 • Admin

WWE is trying something different with its two major brands. Monday Night Raw delivered something fresh in terms of leadership and the same was true of SmackDown Live the next night. Gone are the program’s General Managers and Commissioners. In their place is the McMahon Family. Vince, Stephanie, Shane and Triple H are now all assuming joint leadership over both brands. So when a decision is to be made on the air, that decision will presumably be made by one, or more, of the four. This is what WWE believes will right the ship. But is this really a fresh idea, or the same recycled storyline? Fans expected something big when Vince walked down the ramp on the December 17 edition of Raw. WWE promoted his appearance ad nauseam on social media in the days leading up to the show. Even if fans had not been paying attention all that much, there would have really been no way to miss it. The boss was coming back and he was going to “shake things up.” But the moment he received a standing ovatio..

Recently Departed WWE Superstar Returns At House Show

December 16, 2018 • Admin

He’s not done just yet. Earlier this month on Monday Night Raw, Heath Slater defeated Rhyno in a match where the loser would be out of a job. While Slater has gone on to become a crooked referee, Rhyno seems to be looking for a new line of work. However, much like anything else in wrestling, there seems to be a little more to this than meets the eye. According to Wrestlinginc.com, Rhyno appeared at a WWE house show on Friday in Nashville, despite losing his career earlier in the month. After being on the losing end of a six man tag, Curt Hawkins made an open challenge in hopes of breaking his losing streak, which has now lasted over two years. Hawkins issued an open challenge so Rhyno came through the crowd and Gored him without a match actually starting. There is no word on if or when Rhyno will return to WWE TV. It was a hard way to go. Check out how Rhyno lost his job: [This post contains video, click to play] Opinion: I’m not sure how much value there is in pushing Rhyno at th..

205 Live Results – December 12, 2018

December 16, 2018 • Admin

205 Live Date: December 12, 2018 Location: T-Mobile Arena, Las Vegas, Nevada Commentators: Vic Joseph, Nigel McGuinness, Percy Watson We’re in an interesting place here as we have a Cruiserweight Title match set for Sunday, and that means we need something to fill in the gap before then. There’s a good chance that we’ll get a hard sell for the title match so whatever else we get could be rather interesting. Let’s get to it. Drake Maverick introduces the show and explains tonight’s matches: Buddy Murphy and Cedric Alexander will be facing wrestlers Maverick has chosen. Murphy will face Gran Metalik while Alexander will face Tony Nese. Buddy Murphy vs. Gran Metalik Non-title. Kalisto and Lince Dorado are here, complete with pinatas. Murphy takes him straight down by the arm without much effort and gets reversed even faster. A few pulls of the mask keep Metalik down but he nips back up and scares Murphy into the corner. With Murphy knocked out to the floor, it’s a flip dive to put him ..

TLC 2018 Preview, Predictions And Thoughts

December 16, 2018 • Admin

After a very long year, we’re at the final pay per view of the calendar. In this case, that means a show with a lot of violence in the form of TLC, or tables, ladders and chairs for long. This year’s show is packed, because we need every single match on the card BECAUSE THAT’S HOW WWE WORKS! I’m not sure what to expect on the show, but odds are it’s going to be long. Let’s get to it. Finn Balor vs. Drew McIntyre We’ll start with the first match that I saw when I looked at the card. Balor has been under the weather as of late and that means…well very little really, but they’ve been fighting for a few weeks now over Balor wanting to stand up against the bully. At the same time though, McIntyre should be ready for a heck of a push and that would seem to include a win here over Balor. That’s what I’m going with here as Balor has no reason to win the thing while McIntyre can get another big win under his belt here. McIntyre is someone who can become a top star in the near future and Balor..

Video: Top Ten TLC Title Victories

December 16, 2018 • Admin

A place where titles change hands. We’re coming up on TLC 2018, which will of course feature the show’s namesake match: Tables, Ladders and Chairs. The match is designed to be all about violence, but at the same time there’s a lot more to it than just that. These matches are often about titles, usually because there’s no other way to settle things. However, these title matches have taken place at other shows as well, and that’s where we’re going today. It’s not just for December. Check out this latest WWE Top Ten, with some great title carnage: [This post contains video, click to play] WWE has posted a new Top Ten video, looking at TLC Title Victories. The entries on this list take place in any Tables, Ladders and Chairs match, meaning they don’t necessarily have to be at the TLC pay per view. They’re all in Tables, Ladders and Chairs matches, though not all of them include title changes. These moments go all the way from the first ever edition of the match up until modern times. ..

Roman Reigns Pulled From Upcoming Appearance

December 15, 2018 • Admin

We’ll catch you next time. Back in October, Roman Reigns announced that he would be stepping away from WWE for the time being due to a recurrence of his leukemia. The move forced him to vacate the Universal Title and it wasn’t clear when Reigns would be returning to the company in any way. Reigns would be gone a long time, and now another appearance is off as well. According to the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Reigns has been pulled from the ACE Comic Con in Phoenix, Arizona from January 11 – January 13, 2019. This would have been Reigns’ first official appearance on behalf of WWE since his announcement on October 22. At the moment, there is no word on when Reigns will be back on WWE TV, though it isn’t expected to be anytime soon. It’ll be great when he can come back and add to this. Check out a look at Reigns’ best spears: [This post contains video, click to play] Opinion: Really, you have to expect this to be Reigns’ last scheduled appearance for a long time. WWE, and likely ..

There’s more to life than weapons. This weekend, WWE will present its annual TLC event, featuring a variety of tables, ladders and chairs in various forms of violence. There has been more to the event than those three things though, with some rather emotional moments, including some rather surprising events. There’s enough for WWE to take another look, which is always fun. Do you have anything to say after these? Check out WWE’s latest episode of List This: [This post contains video, click to play] WWE has released a new episode of List This, looking at 5 TLC Moments That Left Us Speechless. The video focuses on moments from the show’s history rather than just Tables Ladders and Chairs matches from over the years. Included are moments that include both regular matches as well as the show’s namesake matches, with some big spots, returns and surprises. Opinion: I know the show doesn’t have the longest and deepest history in the list of WWE events, but a lot of stuff has certainly ha..
