Monday Night Raw Live Coverage And Results – November 8, 2021

November 9, 2021 • Admin

Monday Night Raw Date: November 8, 2021 Location: KFC Yum Center, Louisville, Kentucky Commentators: Jimmy Smith, Corey Graves, Byron Saxton We’re less than two weeks away from Survivor Series and now we have the men’s and women’s Survivor Series teams set up. That means we don’t get a month of qualifying matches, but we are likely to get two weeks of I AM THE CAPTAIN and arguing about their love of a brand they have been on for less than a month. Let’s get to it. We open with a recap of last week’s issues with Seth Rollins, Kevin Owens and Big E., as Big E. isn’t sure he can trust Owens. Big E. and Kevin Owens are in the back, with Owens talking about how he cares about what Big E. thinks of him and wants people to know he turned over a new leaf. Big E. doesn’t really care though and has a match tonight. Owens says he cares what Big E. thinks. Here is Seth Rollins, in some weird red and blue number, to welcome us to Monday Night Rollins. He is the face of Monday Night Raw and ther..

SmackDown Star Asks For Help With Important Cause

November 8, 2021 • Admin

That’s a worthy cause. With wrestling being so prevalent today, you can always find something to watch. It makes for some great viewing, but it also lets wrestling companies get a message out there rather easily. That can also be the case with individual wrestlers, and now one of them is doing something special as a wrestler is using his platform to help other people. SmackDown’s Top Dolla has sent out a tweet, announcing that he is holding his fifth annual canned food drive for Sarah’s House children’s homeless shelter. The drive is being held in Fort Meade, Maryland on November 19-21. Top Dolla’s tweet asked for dirt sheet sites that report on everything he said and try to make money off of his name with clickbait articles every week. Asking all Dirt Sheet websites that report on everything I say every week & try to make clickbait headlines to get publicity off my name to report that I’ll be having my 5th Annual Canned Food Drive for Sarah’s House children’s homeless shelter in For..

WATCH: Update On Roman Reigns vs. The Rock Match

November 8, 2021 • Admin

Maybe not? Over the last year plus, Roman Reigns has dominated the SmackDown landscape as the Universal Champion. There has been almost no one capable of giving him a serious run for his money and the question became who could actually challenge him for the title. Over that time, there was one name who fans had wanted to see face Reigns, but that might not be the case at the moment. The Rock has long since been rumored to be the eventual WrestleMania challenger for Reigns, likely at WrestleMania 39 in Los Angeles. During a new interview with Andrew Freund, the Rock said there are currently no plans for a match with Reigns. Rock said that he was very proud of what Reigns and the Usos were doing at the moment, but there is nothing to the idea of the match at the moment. There is however a chance of it down the road. This could have been something. Check out the interview and some of Rock and Reigns together in WWE: [This post contains video, click to play] [This post contains video,..

AEW’s Tony Khan Offers Interesting Comments On WWE Releases

November 8, 2021 • Admin

His opinion matters. The wrestling world has changed since the rise of AEW and there is nothing to suggest that those changes are going to stop anytime soon. The company has offered the wrestling world a new place to go and that is certainly a good thing. Above all else, it means that leaving WWE is not the end of a wrestler’s mainstream career, which seems to be the case again. In a new interview with Wade Keller of Pro Wrestling Torch, AEW President Tony Khan spoke about the recent WWE releases. Khan talked about how sad it was to see so many wrestlers being let go from a company and losing their jobs. He also mentioned that in every wave of WWE releases, there are always a few that he is interested in bringing in to AEW. This is the case again with the latest batch of releases, though Khan did not say who he was interested in. Assuming the released wrestlers do not attempt to get out of their no compete clauses, they will be allowed to appear in AEW in 30 or 90 days, depending on t..

SmackDown Star Has Interesting Response In Survivor Series Change

November 8, 2021 • Admin

Is that a popular opinion? We are on the way to Survivor Series, with less than two weeks to go before this year’s edition. The show will again be focused on a battle between Monday Night Raw and SmackDown for brand supremacy, which has been the case for the last several years. That means there are a few things that need to be covered, but WWE has skipped a few of them. One wrestler does not seem thrilled. Over the weekend, WWE announced the lineups for the men’s and women’s Survivor Series match. This includes ten men and ten women between the two shows, with nothing leading up to the announcement. SmackDown’s Ricochet responded on Twitter, asking what happened to qualifying matches with a sad emoji. There is no word on if WWE will be holding any qualifying matches for any unannounced matches. What happened to qualifying matches ? — Ricochet (@KingRicochet) November 7, 2021 There have been some good ones before. Check out some of the better Survivor Series matches: [This post con..

WWE Almost Released These Wrestlers As Well

November 8, 2021 • Admin

That could have been a lot worse. There have been all kinds of changes to the WWE in recent years and NXT has taken a large share of hits of its own. This has included several wrestlers being released from the company and there is nothing to suggest that those releases are over. It seems that there were almost several more releases than just the ones we saw last week. Last week, WWE released eighteen wrestlers, with nine of them being from NXT. According to Wrestling Observer Radio, there were ten more NXT wrestlers on the bubble of being released who stuck around. This included wrestlers who are not being used regularly, including Danny Burch and Timothy Thatcher. There is no word on if more releases are coming, or if the wrestlers who stayed are safe at the moment. There were some very talented wrestlers let go from NXT. Check out some of the people who were released: [This post contains video, click to play] [This post contains video, click to play] [This post contains video,..

One Of A Kind: Specific Reason For Eva Marie’s WWE Release

November 8, 2021 • Admin

It’s another career. Wrestlers have had hit and miss success with acting. Every now and then you see someone become a star, but those are few and far between. What you might see more of is a wrestler having some minor success while still wrestling at the same time. That seemed to be the case with a current star, but then things took quite the turn for both sides. Eva Marie was one of the 18 wrestlers released from WWE earlier this week. According to Wrestling Observer Radio, this was partially due to her taking time off to do an acting project not long after she returned. Marie’s age (37 years old), lack of in-ring abilities and lack of getting over with the audience combined with her hiatus led to WWE releasing her. This was Marie’s second run with WWE, after she worked for the company from 2013-2016. Marie certainly tried when she came back. Check out some of her time in the ring: [This post contains video, click to play] [This post contains video, click to play] [This post co..

AEW Gets Some Very Cool Attention From The NFL

November 8, 2021 • Admin

It’s a new way to go. There have been a lot of wrestling stories to pop up over the last few years, but nothing is going to top the rise of AEW. The company has gone from almost nothing to one of the biggest promotions in the world. You almost never see something like this take place and AEW has made some amazing strides in a pretty short time. Now they have done something pretty cool in another sport. The Buffalo Bills’ Stefon Diggs wore special AEW cleats during the pregame warmups of the Bills’ game vs. the Jacksonville Jaguars on Sunday afternoon. The cleats were gold with the AEW logo appearing on the side. AEW President Tony Khan is also the Chief Football Strategy Office for the Jaguars and Jaguars cheerleaders have appeared on Dynamite before. It is not clear where Diggs got the cleats or if he had them specially made. With the @BuffaloBills in Jacksonville today what more fitting pair for my man @stefondiggs to rock for pregame than some @AEW cleats? pic.twitter.com/nknKhSpe..

WWE Has Another Communication Problem With Its Wrestlers

November 8, 2021 • Admin

They might want to work on that. There are a lot of problems in WWE today, including several situations that the company brings on itself. When you look at them overall though, it seems that one of the biggest underlying issues is communication, as it often seems like one side does not know what the other is doing. That seems to be the case again with something fairly important. According to Fightful, WWE did not tell the majority of the teams that were being split up in last month’s WWE Draft. Only AJ Styles and Omos were told that they would be sticking together, with some of the teams who were being split up only learning about the change via social media. There is no word on why WWE did not let the teams know of the upcoming changes in advance. There were some good teams split in the Draft. Check out some of them in action: [This post contains video, click to play] [This post contains video, click to play] [This post contains video, click to play] Opinion: This is one of t..

WATCH: Former WWE Star Wins Championship In Another Sport

November 7, 2021 • Admin

He’s good at something else. There were all kinds of wrestlers released from the WWE this week and there is a lot of talent heading to the free agent market. It opens up some interesting options, as you never know where some of these wrestlers might wind up. One wrestler who was released earlier this week has already moved on to something else, and he has even picked up a championship. Lince Dorado was one of the wrestlers released from WWE earlier this week. According to Fightful, Dorado won a gold medal at the Jiu-Jitsu World League Florida Open on Saturday, though it is not known what division he competed in. Dorado tweeted out a clip of one of his matches on Twitter, saying his goal was to win at all costs and thanking his friends and family for always pushing him. This was pretty impressive. Check out Dorado on Saturday and in a ring: [This post contains video, click to play] [This post contains video, click to play] [This post contains video, click to play] Opinion: Good ..

What WWE Had Planned For Some Of The Recently Released Wrestlers

November 7, 2021 • Admin

What could have been. WWE did it again earlier this week as they released nearly twenty more wrestlers from the company. That is not the kind of thing that you can bounce back from in a hurry and it is not clear where a lot of those wrestlers are going to go. What is clear is that WWE had to change a few plans, and now we know what was going to happen to some of the wrestlers before they were let go. Fightful Select is reporting what was planned for some of the released wrestlers before they were let go by WWE: Katrina Cortez was brought up to Monday Night Raw in 2019 as Sin Cara’s partner in a few losses to Zelina Vega and Andrade. Once the program was over, Cortez was sent back to NXT where there were no plans to do anything else with her. Scarlett was originally scheduled to be called up to the main roster to wrestle, but was “quickly sidelined” for reasons that are not clear. There had been pushed to pair her with Karrion Kross, though it is unknown if WWE was going to do so. Kr..

Oh I Know You: WWE Changes Two Wrestlers’ Names

November 7, 2021 • Admin

Who are you again? There are a lot of ways for a wrestler to get the fans’ attention but some of them are a bit simpler than others. One of the best is to have a name that is unique enough to make someone listen while also sounding like something that could be intimidating. That is a hard combination to pull off and now WWE is trying a different path with two of its wrestlers. WWE has changed the names of Humberto Carrillo and Angel Garza to just Humberto and Angel, according to both of their WWE.com profiles. This follows WWE’s trend of dropping wrestlers’ first or last names, such as with Cesaro, Big E. and Ali. There is no word on why the names were changed, though the two have been teaming together, under the name Los Lotharios as of this week’s SmackDown. They are talented guys under any name. Check out the two of them together and apart: [This post contains video, click to play] [This post contains video, click to play] [This post contains video, click to play] Opinion: ..

You Probably Won’t Be Seeing A Released WWE Star For A Long Time

November 7, 2021 • Admin

That’s a serious problem. This week’s WWE releases shook up the company all over again and there are a lot of wrestlers now getting ready to look for work. That is not the kind of thing that a lot of people expected to happen and it can have some pretty rough ramifications on several wrestlers. It turns out that one of them has a unique problem to deal with after being released. Katrina Cortez was one of the wrestlers released from the company on Thursday. Cortez is originally from Chile and is not an American citizen. Now that she has been released from her WWE contract, she has announced that her work visa expires in thirty days, meaning that she will be forced to leave the country. Cortez debuted for WWE in 2019 and has mainly been used on NXT. At 18 I made the decision to travel to an unknown country, without knowing English I came here… today I receive an email telling me that my visa expires next month and I will have to sell everything that with much love and effort I have ach..

NXT UK Results – November 4, 2021

November 7, 2021 • Admin

NXT UK Date: November 4, 2021 Location: BT Sports Studios, London, England Commentators: Nigel McGuinness, Andy Shepherd It’s another title week around here as Jinny is getting a Women’s Title shot against Meiko Satomura. I know she might not be the flashiest, but there is something special about seeing Satomura get in the ring. She really is a legend and it will be nice to see her defend the title again. Let’s get to it. We open with a quick look at the Women’s Title match. Opening sequence. Rampage Brown vs. Flash Morgan Webster This is part of Webster trying to go after the monsters on the show. Brown powers him around to start and doesn’t seem to be sweating Webster that much so far. There’s another toss into the corner so it’s time for Webster to get a breather. Back in and Webster strikes away in the corner to little avail but he manages to send Brown outside for a change. Brown gets back in and hits something like a belly to belly, followed by a toss suplex to send Webster ..

A Lot Happened Before And After This Week’s SmackDown

November 7, 2021 • Admin

It was a busy night. WWE has a lot of programming to offer every single week and it can be quite a bit. Sometimes it is hard to remember everything that is going on, which is not often the best way to go. There is not much of another way around it though, as there are so many wrestlers that sometimes WWE needs to use that much time. This week, they needed even more time than usual. According to Wrestling Inc., there were three non-televised dark matches during this week’s WWE SmackDown taping. Prior to the show, there were two NXT matches, as Johnny Gargano defeated Kyle O’Reilly and Amari Miller defeated Dakota Kai. After the show went off the air, Drew McIntyre and the Viking Raiders defeated the Bloodline. Of the six SmackDown wrestlers, only Jey Uso and Roman Reigns of the Bloodline did not wrestle twice on the night. WWE Announces Two Survivor Series Matches With Full Teams

November 6, 2021 • Admin

Two of the big ones. We are just over two weeks away from one of the biggest events of the year, with Survivor Series coming up soon. Over the last few years, the show has been built around the idea of Monday Night Raw vs. SmackDown in a battle for brand supremacy. This has usually been done via traditional Survivor Series matches and that will be the case again this year. Now we know some important details. WWE has announced the lineups for the men’s and women’s Survivor Series matches. Both Monday Night Raw and SmackDown will have a five member team for each elimination match. There were no qualifying matches this year and the teams were announced with nothing mentioned about them on television. No captains were announced for any of the four teams. Here are the lineups: Monday Night Raw Men Seth Rollins Finn Balor Kevin Owens Rey Mysterio Dominik Mysterio SmackDown Men Drew McIntyre Jeff Hardy King Woods Sami Zayn Happy Corbin Monday Night Raw Women Bianca Belair Rhea Ripley Liv ..

REVIEW: Bound For Glory 2020: The Weird Version

November 6, 2021 • Admin

Welcome to KB’s Old School (and New School) Reviews. I’ve been reviewing wrestling shows for over twelve years now and have reviewed over 6,000 shows. Every Monday, Wednesday and Friday, I’ll be posting a new review here on Wrestlingrumors.net. It could be anything from modern WWE to old school to indies to anything in between. Note that I rate using letters instead of stars and I don’t rate matches under three minutes as really, how good or bad can something that short be? Bound For Glory 2020 Date: October 24, 2020 Location: Skyway Studios, Nashville, Tennessee Commentators: Don Callis, Josh Matthews It’s the biggest night of the year, or at least it is on paper. Bound For Glory has long since been the top show in the company, though Slammiversary tends to be more fun. Maybe they can change things around a bit this year, though the card isn’t giving me the best vibes. Let’s get to it. Pre-Show: Deaners vs. Rascalz Dez and Wentz for the Rascalz. The Deaners start with the double t..

WATCH: AEW Star Takes Huge Shot At WWE Over Releases

November 6, 2021 • Admin

There’s your shot across the bow. AEW and WWE are the two biggest and most powerful wrestling companies in the United States, if not the world. They have been competing against each other for the last few years now, occasionally with one company taking a not so veiled shot at the other from time to time. That was the case again this week, and it was a rather fast turnaround. Earlier this week, WWE released 18 wrestlers from the company in its latest round of roster cuts. This week on AEW Rampage, Max Caster rapped his way to the ring, including a line saying that Bryan Danielson’s father in law ended several careers. Danielson’s father in law is John Laurinaitis, the WWE Head of Talent Relations, who sent out the email announcing that the wrestlers had been released. That was a bit harsh. Check out the full rap, with several more lines, plus some more of Danielson in AEW: [This post contains video, click to play] [This post contains video, click to play] [This post contains vide..

AEW Rampage Results – November 5, 2021

November 6, 2021 • Admin

Rampage Date: November 5, 2021 Location: Chafetz Arena, St. Louis, Missouri Commentators: Ricky Starks, Taz, Excalibur It’s another live show this week and that could be a good thing. The big story this week is a face to face showdown between CM Punk and Eddie Kingston, meaning it’s time to get the popcorn ready. The talking alone should be great to hear and you can all but write in the Full Gear match from here. Let’s get to it. Opening sequence. Bryan Danielson vs. Anthony Bowens Max Caster is here with Bowens and raps about how Danielson loves cucumbers, is famous for his wife’s reality show, has skinny legs and a father in law who kills wrestlers’ careers (Johnny Ace). Danielson goes after the arm to start but Bowens runs him over with a shoulder. Some kicks to the face don’t do much to Danielson, who is back with a kick to the chest. They fight to the floor though and Danielson is sent into the barricade. Caster gets in a shot of his own and we take a break. Back with Danielson..

WATCH: SmackDown Star Changes Things Up A Lot This Week

November 6, 2021 • Admin

That’s certainly different. There are all kinds of wrestlers in the industry today and several of them have unique characters. That is one of the hardest things to pull off in wrestling as almost everyone is doing something similar to someone else. Occasionally you find something unique, but now it seems like one of the most unique things in wrestling will be going away. Shotzi returned on SmackDown in the WWE Draft and made her singles debut on the October 29 edition of the show. During the event, she turned heel and attacked Sasha Banks while blaming her for everything going wrong. This week on SmackDown, Shotzi appeared more somber and mentioned that she did not need her tank anymore, while talking about how she had lost everything. This appears to be a new character for Shotzi after her heel turn the previous week. That is rather different. Check out Blackheart’s promo, plus some more of her usual self: [This post contains video, click to play] [This post contains video, click..
