Three Title Changes Take Place Saturday Night

March 6, 2022 • Admin

History has been made twice! Titles have long since been the focal point of wrestling promotions and that is not a surprise. They are the easiest concepts in the wrestling world and that will be the case for a long time to come. Wrestlers can win, lose or challenge for a title and have an instant story to be told, making putting a story together that much easier. That was the case twice over the weekend. Three titles changed hands at Impact Wrestling’s Sacrifice event on Saturday night. First, the Knockouts Tag Team Titles changed hands as the IInfluence defeated the IInspiration to win the titles for the first time. Later in the show, Tasha Steelz won the Knockouts Title from Mickie James, marking her first reign with the title. Finally, the Good Brothers lost the Tag Team Titles to Eric Young and Joe Doering of Violent By Design, marking the group’s second reign with the championships. All of the other champions retained their titles on the night. Opinion: It was certainly an event..

WATCH: Bloody, Violent Ending To WWE Live Event At Madison Square Garden

March 6, 2022 • Admin

That’s the big one. WWE has been around for a long time and the company has a certain group of traditions that they follow. There are matches that are held, events that take place and special places to go, but nothing is as important as Madison Square Garden. The venue is the home base of company and it is still a special place for WWE. They were back this week and something big happened. One of the major selling points of this weekend’s WWE live event at Madison Square Garden was the idea of Brock Lesnar’s challenge for the WWE Title. Austin Theory wound up challenging Lesnar in a losing effort, but after the match, Universal Champion Roman Reigns and the Usos attacked Lesnar and left him bloodied to end the show. Lesnar and Reigns are scheduled to square off at WrestleMania 38 in a title unification match. Impact Wrestling Results – March 3, 2022

March 5, 2022 • Admin

Impact Wrestling Date: March 3, 2022 Location: Alario Center, Westwego, Louisiana Commentators: Matthew Rehwoldt, Tom Hannifan Somehow it’s already the go home show for Sacrifice and the card is mostly set. The big match on the show seems to be the Tag Team Title match as Moose defending the World Title against Heath is only so important. Odds are they will add one or two more things to the card tonight so let’s get to it. Opening recap. Opening sequence. Eddie Edwards vs. Steve Maclin Maclin starts the brawl in the aisle and they slug it out, with Maclin hitting a running knee. They go inside for the opening bell and Maclin punches him right back to the floor, setting up a hard suicide dive. Back in and Eddie grabs a Blue Thunder Bomb to take over but they trade running forearms for a double knockdown. They slug it out until Maclin hits a running clothesline but Eddie catches him on top with a running boot. Maclin knocks him into the Tree of Woe and hits the spear in the corner to..

WWE Hall Of Famer Returning To Monday Night Raw Next Week

March 5, 2022 • Admin

Welcome home. There have been so many wrestlers throughout the history of WWE that it is virtually impossible to keep track of all of them. Some names make very little impression while others have such an impact that their name alone brings back a flood of memories. One of those names has not been seen in a long time but will be making a special return next week. WWE has announced that Hall of Famer Jerry Lawler will be making an appearance this week on Monday Night Raw, though there is no word on what he will be doing. Lawler last appeared in a backstage segment back in December 2021, though the announcement says it has been nearly two years since his last appearance. Lawler has been a regular host of the Raw Talk recap show. Opinion: I’m not sure what Lawler is going to do, but it is a bit telling that WWE doesn’t even remember his most recent appearance. It kind of makes you wonder just how unorganized everything is backstage, as that is something that WWE should be able to rememb..

VIDEO: Surprise Return Takes Place On AEW Rampage

March 5, 2022 • Admin

Welcome back. There are a lot of wrestlers on the AEW roster and some of them have carved out quite the niche for themselves. The roster has a wide variety of styles and experience which can be combined to make some very interesting feuds. That has been the case over recent months and now one of the stars has returned, meaning that things are picking up again. This week’s AEW Rampage featured the return of Hikaru Shida, who ran to the ring to save Leila Grey from an attack at the hands of Serena Deeb. After Deeb defeated Grey, she applied the Serenity Lock, causing Shida to return for the save. This is Shida’s first appearance since January when Deeb injured her during a match. The two have been feuding since October, splitting four matches in the process. It was a cool return. Check out what happened on Rampage: [This post contains video, click to play] Opinion: I’m a bit disappointed in this as there is little reason for the feud to continue. Deeb has been on a roll in recent we..

Here Are Two Matches That Will And Won’t Take Place At WrestleMania 38

March 5, 2022 • Admin

You need to make some room. We are less than a month away from WrestleMania 38 and the card should be starting to come together. WWE has a lot of matches to set for the two night event and have eight already announced. That leaves a lot of room still to cover, but there are some ideas that they have used before that they could go to again. It seems that they will be doing just that, at least with one match. According to the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, WWE will be holding the WrestleMania Women’s Battle Royal as usual at WrestleMania, but the Andre the Giant Memorial Battle Royal will not take place. Instead, the Andre battle royal will be held either on the March 28 Monday Night Raw or the April 1 SmackDown. WWE held the battle royal on SmackDown last year rather than at WrestleMania 37. The Women’s battle royal has not been held since 2019. There is no word on why the changes would be made this year. Opinion: That’s kind of an odd set of choices to make, though I am almost worrie..

Why WWE Might Not Stick To WrestleMania World Title Stipulations

March 5, 2022 • Admin

It might not be that simple. The main event of WrestleMania 38 has been set, as Universal Champion Roman reigns will face WWE Champion Brock Lesnar in a winner take all title unification match. As a result, there will be one World Champion in WWE, marking the end of a five and a half year run with two World Titles. However, the new era might not wind up lasting that long. According to the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, WWE feels that it needs more than one World Champion at the moment. As a result, it is likely that WWE will either split the titles up again or introduce a new world title, as neither wrestler’s schedule nor the networks would be happy without having a full time World Champion. There is no word on how or when the change would be made. Opinion: This isn’t the biggest surprise, as WWE has long since enjoyed the idea of having more than one World Champion on the roster at once. I’m not sure how WWE will get out of this, but having someone go on a rant about how there need..

Surprise AEW Debut Sets Up New Revolution Match

March 5, 2022 • Admin

Welcome back and get going. There are a lot of wrestlers on the AEW roster as the company has put together quite the collection of talent. The company has a great mixture of top level stars, up and coming wrestlers and younger names starting to get noticed. It can be interesting to see what happens when someone else is added to the mix and that was the case this week. This week on AEW Rampage, Alex Abrahantes, Pac and Penta Obscuro challenged the House of Black to a six man tag at Revolution. The House of Black appeared and accepted the challenge, but Abrahantes said that he had someone else in mind to take his place. This brought out Erick Redbeard, formerly known as Erick Rowan, to help clear out the House of Black, with the six man tag being announced for Revolution. Redbeard has appeared for AEW before, making a one off appearance on the Brodie Lee memorial show in 2022. Opinion: This is one of those cameos that I didn’t see coming but it was something that made me think it was a..

Huge Update On Steve Austin’s WrestleMania 38 Role

March 5, 2022 • Admin

Not so fast? Wrestlers are athletes, but there are certain things about their careers that are not like their mainstream counterparts. One of the biggest is retirement, as wrestlers can often jump back into the ring for a one off here or there, as there is no such thing as a season in most wrestling promotions. That can make for some interesting returns, but we might not be seeing one this time. Last month, a report emerged that Steve Austin was possibly returning to the ring for a match at WrestleMania 38, possibly against Kevin Owens. Nothing was ever officially announced though, and now the Wrestling Observer Newsletter is reporting that Austin may not be having a match, though there is still a possibility. Austin is still expected to have a confrontation with Owens of some form, likely resulting in Owens taking a Stunner. Opinion: The more I think about it, the better this might be for everyone involved. At the end of the day, Austin has not wrestled in nearly twenty years and is..

Conflicting Reports On AEW Star Suffering Injury

March 5, 2022 • Admin

Maybe? Injuries are one of the worst things that can happen to a wrestler at any time as you never know how bad something might be. You can’t tell if someone is going to be out of action for a few days or several months and it can make for some rather scary moments. In this case though, you might not be able to tell if anything is wrong or not as the situation is not entirely clear. There are conflicting reports about AEW’s Thunder Rosa suffering an injury this week at Dynamite. According to the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Rosa suffered an injury, though it is not clear when it took place. Rosa teamed with Mercedes Martinez to defeat Jamie Hayter/Britt Baker, setting up Rosa’s match with Baker at Revolution. However, the Revolution match is still scheduled to take place, injury or not. At the same time, Fightful Select is reporting that according to AEW sources, Rosa did not suffer an injury despite having her leg taped. As the Newsletter reported, the match at Revolution is still ..

March 5, 2022 • Admin

Dynamite Date: March 17, 2021 Location: Daily’s Place, Jacksonville, Florida Commentators: Excalibur, Jim Ross, Tony Schiavone It’s time for the next special show as we have a St. Patrick’s Day special. This time around we have the fallout from last week’s big angle with the Inner Circle being laid out by MJF and his new group. Other than that, we have a major showdown with Thunder Rosa and Britt Baker. Let’s get to it. Opening sequence. MJF and company arrived at the airport earlier today. Penta El Zero M vs. Cody Rhodes During the intros, Penta (through a translator) promises to send Cody onto an early paternity leave. Penta jumps Cody during the entrances and we starts on the floor. Some kicks to the face and leg have Cody in more trouble and they head inside. Cody screams at Penta for chopping him and hits a release gordbuster. The Sling Blade gives Penta two and a Backstabber is good for the same. Penta starts going after Cody’s bad arm but he’s fine enough to send Penta out..

March 5, 2022 • Admin

Smackdown Date: March 4, 2022 Location: FTX Arena, Miami, Florida Commentators: Pat McAfee, Michael Cole We are less than a month away from Wrestlemania and the card is starting to come together. There are still some gaps that need to be filled in but now tonight we might have a better idea of how some of the title scene will look. This week features two title matches which could see some shakeups. Let’s get to it. Paul Heyman talks about being the advocate for Roman Reigns, who will be here tonight. The Viking Raiders are ready to hunt the Usos, rip them apart, and take the Tag Team Titles. The Usos say the Vikings are fat. Ricochet says he’s taking the Intercontinental Title from Sami Zayn. Sami Zayn lists off his monikers and says after tonight, people will be talking about him being the best Intercontinental Champion. Intercontinental Title: Ricochet vs. Sami Zayn R..

AEW Rampage Results – March 4, 2022

March 5, 2022 • Admin

Rampage Date: March 4, 2022 Location: Addition Financial Arena, Orlando, Florida Commentators: Excalibur, Chris Jericho, Ricky Starks, Taz It’s a rare live edition this week as it is also the go home show for this weekend’s Revolution pay per view. That could make things a bit more interesting, as we also have a title match. Sammy Guevara will be defending the TNT Title against Darby Allin and Andrade El Idolo, which should be a good one. Let’s get to it. Opening sequence. TNT Title: Andrade El Idolo vs. Darby Allin vs. Sammy Guevara Guevara is defending. Andrade bails out to the floor to start before being chased back inside. Allin hits a high angle springboard armdrag to take Andrade down but Sammy takes Allin down as well. Sammy loads up a superplex but Andrade turns it into a Tower of Doom, albeit after walking forward while holding both of them up at once. We take a break and come back with Andrade suplexing Sammy into the corner and a moonsault press connects to give Andrade ..

WWE Announces New Hell In A Cell Details

March 5, 2022 • Admin

Mark your calendars. WWE runs several may per view events a year and some of them are among the most well known shows on the wrestling schedule. The company has several shows that are longstanding traditions, though sometimes they will move one of them around the schedule a bit in one direction or another. WWE did that last year and now they seem to have made the move permanent. WWE has announced that Hell In A Cell will be taking place on Sunday June 5 at the Allstate Arena near Chicago, Illinois, marking the show’s first time taking place at the venue. This will be the second year in a row that Hell In A Cell has taken place in June after being held in October for all but one of its previous editions. There are no matches announced for the show. Opinion: There is something fun about seeing the pay per view calendar being announced as you might get to take in a show that you weren’t expecting. I still don’t care for the idea of having a show like Hell In A Cell taking place at the s..

WWE Confirms Celebrity Match For WrestleMania 38

March 5, 2022 • Admin

There’s your next one. With WrestleMania 38 less than a month away, it is time to start getting ready for the biggest show of the year. That means WWE needs to set up the card in the way that draws in the most eyes, which includes coming up with some matches that might draw in a crowd that might not usually watch. WWE is trying just that with a special celebrity match. This week on SmackDown, actor Johnny Knoxville interrupted Sami Zayn’s Intercontinental Title match against Ricochet, costing Zayn the title. As a result, Zayn challenged Knoxville to a match at WrestleMania 38, which Knoxville accepted later in the night. Knoxville has been tormenting Zayn for most of the year, including appearing in the Royal Rumble, where Zayn eliminated him. Zayn also crashed the premiere of Knoxville’s film Jackass Forever, with Knoxville coming back to SmackDown to retaliate. Opinion: This is the kind of thing that makes sense, but I’m rather happy that it is not going to be a title match. Celebr..

Grudge Match Officially Set For WrestleMania 38

March 5, 2022 • Admin

There’s the next one. We are less than a month away from WrestleMania 38 and that means the show is starting to come into focus. With so many matches that need to be set up, WWE has a lot of work to do before we get to the event. They have covered the major title matches but some of the grudge matches still need to be set up. WWE covered one of them this week. Earlier this week, Vince McMahon appeared on the Pat McAfee Show and announced that McAfee, a WWE SmackDown broadcaster, will be wrestling at WrestleMania but no opponent was announced. This week on SmackDown, Austin Theory came to ringside and slapped McAfee in the face, saying that he is McAfee’s opponent for WrestleMania. McAfee and McMahon had been rumored for a WrestleMania match and it is not clear if McMahon will still be involved. Opinion: I’m curious to see how this is going to go because McAfee vs. Theory isn’t exactly a red hot match. McMahon is going to have to be added to it in some capacity, even if it is being in..

Surprise Title Change Takes Place On WWE SmackDown

March 5, 2022 • Admin

History has been made! There are a lot of titles in the wrestling world and many of the most famous and well known are under the WWE banner. The company has been around for so many years that it has had a chance to build up some lineages. One of those titles changing hands can mean a great deal for someone and that was the case again late this week. This week on SmackDown, Ricochet defeated Sami Zayn to win the Intercontinental Title for the first time in his career. Ricochet won the title when Zayn was distracted by Johnny Knoxville, who came to the ring, allowing Ricochet to hurricanrana him for the pin. This is Ricochet’s second singles title in WWE, along with the United States Title, plus one reign as NXT North American Champion. Opinion: This was quite the surprise and that is a nice thing to see. Ricochet is someone who has seemed ready to take a big step forward for a long time now but has not really been given a chance. I don’t know how the title reign is going to go, but wh..

WATCH: The Rock & John Cena Make Their First WrestleMania Match Official

March 4, 2022 • Admin

The course of history was shifted forever. WWE has posted a new video to its YouTube channel in which they show the full segment from the April 4, 2011 episode of RAW when John Cena and The Rock make their WrestleMania XXVIII (28) match official. You can see the segment in its entirety below: [This post contains video, click to play] Here’s how the match went down: Shortly after the bell rang, Cena sent The Rock tumbling with a show of power to send an early message to start the contest. The Rock didn’t flinch and promptly returned the favor with a shove of his own that tossed Cena down to the canvas. The Great One proved that he didn’t miss a beat despite the ring rust, as he executed a couple of hip tosses and a very crafty la magistral rollup for a near-pinfall. Cena looked shocked as he took a breather in the corner of the ring. After Rock managed to slip out of an Attitude Adjustment attempt, he nailed the much-anticipated People’s Elbow, but it still wouldn’t be enough to d..

NXT UK Results – March 3, 2022

March 4, 2022 • Admin

NXT UK Date: March 3, 2022 Location: BT Sports Studios, London, England Commentators: Andy Shepherd, Nigel McGuinness It’s time for another title week here as Ilja Dragunov is defending the United Kingdom Title against Nathan Frazer. That should make for a great one, as the two of them have a nice record of rising to the occasion in the big matches. Other than that, Gallus gets Sha Samuels in a preview of Joe Coffey vs. Noam Dar for the Heritage Cup later this month. Let’s get to it. We open with a video on Nathan Frazer vs. Ilja Dragunov. Opening sequence. Sha Samuels vs. Mark Coffey There are no seconds here for a change. They slug it out to start with Samuels headlocking him over. With that not working, Coffey is back up and starts working on the arm, setting up a Russian legsweep. A backdrop sends Samuels rolling to the floor but he’s right back in to kick away. Samuels drops him with a running clothesline before pulling up the suspenders for some reason. Coffey gets twisted d..

Former Impact Wrestling Star Suing Company For A Lot Of Money

March 4, 2022 • Admin

That’s a bad way to go. There are a lot of wrestlers in the industry and the majority of them come and go without doing much of note. When you think about it, only a small handful make it to the big leaves and even a smaller handful of them are successes on that level. Sometimes wrestlers do things that are noteworthy for reasons that are more infamous than anything else, which might be the case again. According to PWInsider.com, former Impact Wrestling star Michael Elgin is suing the company for breach of contract. Impact Wrestling removed Elgin from television following sexual misconduct allegations against him. Elgin was removed from Impact Wrestling television on June 26, 2022 over allegations in the SpeakingOut Movement and is claiming that his career was damaged as a result. He is also claiming that he was told he was being removed based on statements against him with Impact never conducting an investigation. Elgin has released a video going into detail on the case, saying his ..
