Cody Rhodes becomes new Undisputed Reigning champion at SummerSlam | WWE
Previous Undisputed WWE Title holder Cody Rhodes confirmed on an installment of the FLAGRANT podcast earlier this month that he has signed a brand-new deal with the company, as previously reported by PWMania.com. Rhodes mentioned that he intends to finish his professional wrestling career with WWE and that he lately spoke to The New York Times about this decision — during the discussion.
The New York Times (as reported by Fightful) has since published a feature piece confirming that Cody Rhodes has signed a five-year contract with WWE.
The article noted, “Cody Rhodes recently inked a deal a five-year pact extension with WWE. Roman Reigns wrestled at an show in Novel Orleans two days before the ‘Street Fighter’ premiere in Los Angeles.”
Rhodes is a three-time Undisputed WWE Titleholder. He returned to WWE at The Grandest Stage of Them All 38 and subsequently contended his first WWE World Crown from Reigns at WrestleMania XL. His most most recent title reign drew to an end when Sami Zayn vanquished him at Night of Champions this past June.
Currently, Rhodes is involved in a heated conflict with Randy Orton, and the two are lined up to babyface each other this Friday on SmackDown.
