WATCH: Becky Lynch Discusses WrestleMania, Shayna Baszler, Much More

The champ is still here. WWE has come a long way in the year since WrestleMania 35 but there has been one constant in that whole time: Becky Lynch is still the Raw Women’s Champion. She is one of the biggest stars in wrestling and has shown very few signs of slowing down. Keeping the title this long is almost unthinkable but Lynch keeps pulling it off. That comes with some perks, one of which was on display Sunday. On Saturday night at WrestleMania 36 Night One, Lynch retained the Raw Women’s Title in a surprise over Shayna Baszler. The win allowed her to move forward to the one year mark as champion, which is moving her rather close to the modern record for a women’s champion. Lynch has become a celebrity as well, and that was part of what she was doing the day after retaining the title. Here she is again. Check out Lynch on SportsCenter: Lynch was a guest on the Sunday morning edition of SportsCenter. During the interview, Lynch talked about her time working with ESPN before, inc..

AEW On Hiatus Following Marathon Taping Session

See you soon. The wrestling world (along with the rest of it) has been turned upside down at the moment. Everything is going nuts and there is no sign that it is going to be getting any better for a few weeks (at the very, very earliest). This is the kind of thing that wrestling companies are going to have to find a way around and AEW might have found a way to do just that. The biggest problem with wrestling shows at the moments comes down to not being allowed to run events with more than ten people in a single place at once. That might work back in a territory era live event but it’s a big different with a two hour television show. That’s hard to do every week, but if you cut around the edges quite a bit, it can be done. That seems to be the case at the moment. According to Wrestling Observer Radio, AEW is currently on an indefinite hiatus after taping several weeks worth of television in a marathon taping session over the course of this week. The shows taped could last them all the..

WWE Offers Money In The Bank Status Update

They’re certainly persistent. The WWE motto always seems to be “The Show Must Go On”. Whether it makes sense to continue or not, WWE has a tendency to never know when to take a breather. They have no off season and there is a television show every Monday and Friday night. That can cause some problems when a break is necessary, but it doesn’t seem to be the case here. There have been a lot of changes in wrestling due to the spread of the Coronavirus, with the biggest being the lack of fans in the venues for the events. Most wrestling companies have just stopped running shows due to this issue, but WWE is not like most wrestling companies. Their shows continue in front of no fans, and that might be the case again going forward. During Night Two of WrestleMania 36, a video aired advertising Money in the Bank, which is scheduled to take place on May 10. No venue was given, though the show was originally scheduled for the Royal Farms Arena in Baltimore, Maryland. At the moment, there is n..

NXT Callup Takes Place During WrestleMania 36

Maybe the first of many. WrestleMania 36 is officially in the books and that means things are going to be entering a new phase starting this week on Monday Night Raw. While that shoe marks something like the season premiere, WrestleMania was the season finale. That being said, there was still time to introduce someone new and that is exactly what they did here. One of the most fascinating things about WWE is seeing someone get called up to the main roster for the first time. You never know when you might see something like this happening and that is what makes the moments so special. They may not be as common as they once were but when they are that special, they feel big. That was the case on Sunday night at WrestleMania. During Night Two of WrestleMania 36, Bianca Belair interfered and seemed to make her full time main roster debut. Belair ran in to help the Street Profits fight off Zelina Vega, Angel Garza and Austin Theory after the Street Profits had successfully defended the Ra..

VIDEO: AEW Couple Shares Some Very Happy News

It’s nice to have something different for a change. With everything going nuts at the moment, there is very little in the way of nice news coming from the world of wrestling. Yes there have still been shows and some matches might be better than others, but it seems that everything is in some kind of a negative light. This time around it’s actually something positive for a change. Relationships in wrestling are hard to pull off. The lives of wrestlers are some of the most complicated things in the world with wrestlers running from one show to the next, often going around the country if not the world in the process. That can make things especially hectic, making it harder and harder to find time for a relationship of any kind. Therefore, relationships in the business can often be the best option. Hence where we are today. AEW’s Penelope Ford and Kip Sabian have both posted videos to their Instagram showing Sabian proposing to Ford, who accepted. The two were on a beach taking a photo f..

CombatMania 36 Night Two Live Coverage And Results

Wrestlemania XXXVI Night Two Date: April 5, 2020 Location: WWE Performance Center, Orlando, Florida Commentators: Michael Cole, John Bradshaw Layfield We’re back for more of the same and that might not be the worst thing in the world. Last night’s part one wasn’t half bad but they are going to have a hard time surpassing that main event. There are eight more matches, plus the required Kickoff Show match, tonight so hopefully they can have another good one. Let’s get to it. Kickoff Show: Liv Morgan vs. Natalya Morgan rolls her up for two to start so Natalya does the same for a standoff. Some more rollups get some more near falls until Morgan sends her into the corner. A running hip attack hits Natalya but she’s right back with her basement dropkick for two more. Natalya clotheslines her to the floor, followed by the surfboard back inside. Natalya: “ASK HER!!!!” That’s broken up and Liv’s Codebreaker gets two. The sitout wheelbarrow faceplant gives Natalya the same and they pinfall rev..

WWE Trying To Tape This Week’s SmackDown In Secret Location

They’re trying. We are in the middle of a never before seen event in wrestling history as you never know what is going to happen from one day to the next. With the spread of the Coronavirus changing one thing after another every single day, you never can tell what you are going to see on any given day. The industry is trying to hold on and in this case, WWE is doing something rather unique. The biggest part of the problem for wrestling television at the moment is finding a place to shoot the shows. The vast majority of the United States is currently under government orders to shelter in place in an effort to help prevent the virus from spreading. As a result, it is very difficult to find a location to film anything. That has never stopped WWE before though and it might not now. According to Wrestling Observer Radio, WWE is currently planning to tape this week’s SmackDown from a secret location. There is no word on where the show could be taped, with the only clue being that it would ..

WrestleMania Boneyard Match Receives Critical Acclaim From Wrestling Community

I’d say they’ve earned it. This year’s WrestleMania is not going to be like any other that has ever been seen. The show is taking place in front of no fans and is being split into two nights, meaning that everything is upside down compared to what we are usually seeing. There is still wrestling though, with Night One featuring something that was just as different as the rest of the show. As it turns out, it did rather well indeed. The first night of WrestleMania 36 was headlined by the Boneyard match between AJ Styles and Undertaker. The rules of the match were not exactly clear on the way to WrestleMania so no one was sure what to expect. As it turns out, the match was more of a mini movie than a match, similar to Matt Hardy’s Final Deletion matches. The match seemed to have been well received though and a lot of wrestlers have something to say about it. Following the match, several wrestlers commented positively on the match with many of them outright praising what Undertaker and S..

TRAILER: WWE Announces New Undertaker Documentary Series

You don’t get something like this. There are very few wrestlers in history like the Undertaker. He has been around forever and still manages to have one big moment after another. Later this year, he will celebrate thirty years with the company, which is practically unheard of in almost any wrestling company. In that whole time, we have barely seen anything from behind the curtain with him, but now that might be changing. Late last year, Undertaker was a guest on Steve Austin’s Broken Skull Sessions. This marked a very rare look at the person behind the Undertaker character. That is something fans have been interested in seeing for decades now and it finally took place. They did not have time to talk about everything though, and that is why Sunday night brought good news. During the first night of WrestleMania 36, WWE announced a new limited series about the Undertaker, called The Last Ride. The limited series will feature out of character interviews with Undertaker, as well as major ..

VIDEO: The Outstanding WrestleMania 36 Opening Video

You have to get off on a nice foot. There are a lot of things to criticize about WWE and that has been the case for a very long time now. Their creative direction and match quality may vary by your personal preferences, but there is one thing that they do with very little room for criticism. That would be their video packages, which they did again at a high level over the weekend. Saturday night saw the first half of WrestleMania 36 and this show was a tricky one. The problem with having no fans in place and having to figure out what is going on tonight is a daunting task and WWE had its work cut out to figure out how to do it. A big part of that is setting the stage in the right way, and as usual, WWE knows exactly what they are doing with this stuff. This is a great one. Check out how WrestleMania got started: WWE has released its opening video for WrestleMania 36, which features the same pirate theme that the show had been built around since it was first announced. The video inc..

How The Champions Fared At WrestleMania Night One

We’re halfway there. WrestleMania 36 is going to be one of the most unique shows that wrestling has ever seen. Ignoring the entire crowd situation, it is very rare to see a major American wrestling event stretched out to two nights. That is what we’re getting here though, meaning there are two different sets of results to consider. Now the first half is in the books and we can look at some results. As usual, WrestleMania is built around title matches. Most of the big matches on the show are going to have a title involved in some form and that is how wrestling almost always tends to go. This year’s show is no exception, with a total of nine title matches taking place over the course of the two nights. With night one already done, there is a big question to be answered: how did the champions do? Night One of WrestleMania 36 featured five title matches with a total of two title changes. Goldberg lost the Universal Title to Braun Strowman and Alexa Bliss and Nikki Cross won the Women’s T..

WrestleMania 36 Live Watch Party and Reaction!

Night 1 of WrestleMania 36 is upon us. Since no one is able to make it live, and plans were thwarted due to the COVID-19 pandemic, let us make the best of this situation and have a watch party! The card is split in two, with several changes due to wrestlers not able to made it to the WWE Performance Center, or wisely decided to sit the event out, such as Roman Reigns. Kevin Owens confirmed in his promo against Seth Rollins that his match will indeed be occurring on Saturday evening. Sports Illustrated has posted the full card for Night 1. Here is the full line-up: Pre-show match: Drew Gulak vs. Cesaro Elias vs. King Corbin Kevin Owens vs. Seth Rollins WWE Raw Women’s Championship match: Becky Lynch (c) vs. Shayna Baszler WWE Intercontinental Championship match: Sami Zayn (c) (with Cesaro and Shinsuke Nakamura) vs. Daniel Bryan (with Drew Gulak) WWE SmackDown Tag Team Championship match: John Morrison (c) vs. Jimmy Uso vs. Kofi Kingston (Triple Threat ladder match) WWE Women’s Tag Te..

WrestleMania 36 Part 1 Live Coverage And Results

Wrestlemania XXXVI Part 1 Date: April 4, 2020 Location: WWE Performance Center, Orlando, Florida Commentator: Michael Cole, John Bradshaw Layfield Host: Rob Gronkowski Sweet goodness that does not feel right. I’m not sure what to expect tonight because WWE didn’t feel the need to tell us what was going to be taking place on either night. This show is going to have about a hundred asterisks in the history books and that’s perfectly fine, but it doesn’t make things any less disappointing (not that it’s WWE’s fault). Let’s get to it. Kickoff Show: Cesaro vs. Drew Gulak Gulak takes him down by the arm to start but Cesaro powers up with a backbreaker to get out of trouble. That earns him a LeBell Lock (which Cole calls a Crossface) to send Cesaro outside so Gulak dives on him for a bonus. Back in and Cesaro’s arm gets snapped across the top rope and a clothesline puts him on the floor again. Cesaro gets sent into the steps but he’s able to uppercut Gulak out of the air back inside for two..

WWE Announces Two WrestleMania Kickoff Show Matches

Of course there’s more time. We have finally reached WrestleMania weekend and that means the biggest night(s) of wrestling all year long. While we don’t know what is going to take place on each specific night as WWE has not announced a card for either show, we do know a little something: there are going to be A LOT of matches all around. This includes something that wasn’t even announced before the weekend. One of the biggest parts of WrestleMania is how many places are broadcasting the show. Of course the is the WWE Network, but we also have the FOX App, plus regular pay per view. In other words, there is no excuse to not be able to see the show, meaning WWE is promoting the heck out of it. What better way to do that than with some extra material that you won’t see on the pay per view? WWE has announced a pair of Kickoff Show matches for WrestleMania 36, with one match airing per night. First up, Drew Gulak will face Cesaro on Saturday night while Natalya and Liv Morgan will square ..

WWE Confirms Last Minute Change To WrestleMania Title Match

Better late than never. There is a lot taking place at this weekend’s WrestleMania 36 and that means there is not much time left to hammer out all of the details. This gets even more complicated when you consider that the show has already been taped, meaning no more changes can be made. That doesn’t apply to the build though, and WWE has made a last minute adjustment. This year’s WrestleMania is going to be defined by everything that happened because of the spread of the Coronavirus. The disease has swept around the world and changed so many things in a variety of places. This includes the world of wrestling, where WWE is not exactly thrilled with the idea of having its performers getting sick. As a result, a change needed to be made and they are finally acknowledging it. WWE has confirmed that the Miz will not be able to participate in this year’s WrestleMania. As a result, the SmackDown Tag Team Titles will now be defended in a three person triple threat ladder match with John Morr..

Ric Flair is Proud of WWE for Hosting WrestleMania 36

WWE Hall of Famer Ric Flair was recently interviewed by Mike Greenberg on ESPN’s “Get Up,” where he discussed the upcoming WrestleMania 36 show and the company’s decision to host it, despite the Coronavirus pandemic. You can see the entire interview below: Flair said that he is proud of WWE for taping the show and for going on it. He said that it is important that people have live events to look forward to because there is nothing but replays on sports networks right now. He said that it will give people a reason to laugh and smile about during this difficult time. With regards to there being no audience for the shows, The Nature Boy said that Kevin Dunn and Vince McMahon will make it seem like there are people there. This will be done through video packages and production techniques, and the athletes will perform as if there was a stadium full of people. He also said that on Monday morning, the sports shows will be talking about WrestleMania and not Tom Brady, The Buccaneers or Tu..

Triple H Discusses Why WrestleMania 36 Is Going On Despite Coronavirus Pandemic

WWE’s Executive Vice President, Talent, Live Events & Creative, Triple H, was recently interviewed by ESPN’s “Golic and Wingo,” to help promote the upcoming WrestleMania 36 show this weekend. You can see the interview in its entirety below: Triple H began by saying that the world needs entertainment more than anything right now, which is the main reason why the company has decided to go on with the show. They also discussed one of their performers pulling out of the show, due to health and safety concerns, and said that deciding not to participate in WrestleMania 36 would not be held against them. The Game also said that they have taken extreme caution to ensure the safety of the performers, staff, and crew for the event. This includes bringing in talents in waves, screening who enters the Performance Center, wiping things down and cleaning everything to make sure they are compliant with CDC recommendations. The topic of blowback from the fans was brought up, regarding hosting the ..

VIDEO: WWE Storyline Takes Surprise Turn (WrestleMania Implications)

That’s a step forward. I know things have been a little all over the place lately and WWE’s main television shows have been little more than background noise and great promos, but there are still storylines going on. Some of these started before everything changed and they still need some kind of a payoff. While we did not get a payoff this week, we did get a big step forward. Over the last few weeks on WWE television, the shows’ video feeds have been hacked and a circle of lights have appeared. No one seemed to notice and little has come of it so far. It is not clear who it is, but there is a theory that it might be Mustafa Ali as his glove has a similar circle on the back. This week’s SmackDown did not reveal who was behind the hacking, but we did see something. It’s a step forward. Check out what happened to move things in a different direction: Late in the show, Dolph Ziggler was attacking Tucker when the feed was hacked again. This time the phrase “The Truth Will Be Heard” app..

Vince McMahon’s Radical Idea For WrestleMania 36

You can picture him doing this. We are less than a day away from WrestleMania 36 and that means we are coming up on one of the most unique shows in wrestling history. Nothing has ever been done like this before and it is going to be one of the most important events on the WWE calendar. While the show in the empty Performance Center is going to look strange, it could have been a lot stranger. While we are finally at the final home stretch for WrestleMania 36, it has been a long road to get here. It had not been clear what is going to happen with all kinds of ideas being thrown out there. Some of these ranged from what felt like good ideas to complete insanity, but now we know that Vince McMahon had an even more out there idea which would have certainly been memorable. Sports Illustrated’s Justin Barrasso reports that despite the issues with the Coronavirus, McMahon still wanted to hold WrestleMania in the empty Raymond James Stadium. The show was eventually moved to the Performance Ce..

FOX And USA Unhappy With Recent WWE Decision

You don’t want to make the bosses mad. WWE is in a weird place at the moment but they certainly know how to get people to give them money. With so many television networks desperate for programming that offers stronger ratings, wrestling is in strong demand. That is the case with FOX and USA, both of whom have paid WWE a fortune for live programming. However, someone else is getting in on the act and the two networks aren’t happy. Due to the spread of the Coronavirus, professional and amateur sports have all but stopped cold in the world these days. That doesn’t leave places like ESPN much to do, but they do have a way out with professional wrestling. WWE has a lot of video available and ESPN has seemed interested in airing a lot of it. That might not be the best move for WWE though and it might be a bit of a problem. According to Sports Illustrated, FOX and USA were not happy with WWE allowing ESPN to air WrestleMania on three straight Sundays, as FOX wanted the shows to air on FOX ..
