RUMOR: What Impressed Vince McMahon On SmackDown

•

He sees it bro. The WWE has seen some incredible wrestlers over the years and some of them are among the greatest talents of all time. With so much ability and so much skill, there is a desire to name someone else as the next insert great wrestler here. That is some amazing pressure, and Vince McMahon himself seems to think that there is something to one of his younger stars. About a month ago, Matt Riddle made his full time debut on the main roster and immediately became a big deal, defeating Intercontinental Champion AJ Styles in a non-title match. It was clear that WWE saw a lot in him and that Riddle was going to be in for a huge push. Riddle followed it up with a big promo this past week, and it caught the eye of the boss. According to Wrestlingnews.co, McMahon was so impressed with Riddle’s story about wrestling barefoot that he allowed Riddle to tell it on SmackDown. McMahon sees a lot of a young Shawn Michaels in Riddle: a wrestler with a rebel mentality who may annoy others ..

Status Updates On Missing WWE Superstars

•

Not present but accounted for. The world has been turned upside down by the Coronavirus and the wrestling industry is no different. One of the only promotions to continue doing something resembling normal is WWE, where they are managing to continue with Monday Night Raw and SmackDown on a weekly basis. Not everyone is there every week though, and now we know why some names missed some shows. With the WWE locker room facing what seems to be a Coronavirus outbreak, the television schedule has been all over the place. Shows have been moved back several days at a time as the company tries to keep track of who is sick and who is healthy while also putting on shows. That makes it interesting to see who is missing from any given show, and three names were absent from the two most recent television shows. According to Wrestling Observer Radio, Mandy Rose, Liv Morgan and Sonya Deville all missed the most recent Monday Night Raw and SmackDown tapings because they were on a boat trip with Morga..

More Details On Velveteen Dream’s Car Accident

•

Things just keep getting worse. It has been a rough few months for WWE as one bad piece of news keeps coming in after another. First there was the Coronavirus pandemic and then SpeakOut started up, leaving WWE to take hit after hit. Both situations have far more important victims than WWE, and now one person involved nearly got himself in a lot more trouble all over again. One of the biggest WWE names to be mentioned in the SpeakOut movement has been the Velveteen Dream, who has been accused of having a variety of inappropriate conversations with minors. While nothing has been confirmed as of yet and WWE has not made any comment on the situation, it is not clear if Dream will be back on WWE television. It turns out that was almost the case for an entirely different reason. Over the weekend, Dream was involved in a car accident, requiring him to be hospitalized and released. According to Wrestlinginc.com, Dream ran a red light at around 4pm on Friday and hit another car. The driver of..

It’s all in the details. Whether you like them or not, there is no denying that WWE is the biggest and most powerful wrestling promotion in the world. With so much money and so many resources, they can do things that other wrestling promotions just cannot accomplish. One of those things has included expanding their territory, but one such territory is not doing so well right now. One thing that you might have been missing over the last few months is NXT UK. The WWE’s first attempt at an international expansion of its NXT brand has not been around since late April due to the Coronavirus pandemic and it does not seem like things are going to be changing in the near future. Couple the pandemic with the SpeakOut movement taking its toll on the UK wrestling scene and things are getting even worse. That means it’s time for WWE to do something, which is what they seem to be doing. NXT UK held a conference call on Tuesday with Triple H speaking to the roster. According to PWInsider.com, the ..

Miz’s Star Power Seems To Be On The Rise

•

He’s got potential. There are a lot of stars in WWE and some of them are valuable in different ways. Some of them are the kind of people that WWE can put outside of the ring and have them do all kinds of good things for the company. That is a very valuable asset to have and now it turns out that NBC has taken notice of someone that WWE has seemed to like for a long time. While he might not be the most popular star in WWE, there is something about the Miz that makes him incredibly valuable to WWE. He is the kind of wrestler who can put on a suit, stand in front of a camera and say just about anything you need him to with enough charisma to make it work. That is the kind of ability that can give you a career in the entertainment field and Miz’s status seems to be rising a bit. According to Showbuzz Daily, the NBC preview edition of Cannonball, a competition show hosted by the Miz, debuted with 2.748 million viewers and a .6 rating in the 18-49 demographic. Impact Wrestling Shakes Up Slammiversary Main Event

•

You have to try something else. The last few weeks has seen a whirlwind of changes in Impact Wrestling due to a variety of issues. The biggest of them all has been in the main event scene, where two of the five members of the Slammiversary main event are suddenly gone from the company, including the reigning World Champion. Things had to be changed and now we know where that is going. Last week, Impact Wrestling released both Michael Elgin and reigning World Champion Tessa Blanchard. This left the Slammiversary main event with only three of the five scheduled entrants, meaning that something had to be changed. Due to the company’s taping schedule, the news could not be immediately announced on television. Some time has passed now though and now we have a new main event. During this week’s Impact Wrestling, a new main event was announced for Slammiversary. WWE Releases Two Referees, Suspends NXT UK Star

•

See you later. The SpeakOut movement has changed a lot of things about the wrestling world in several ways. A lot of wrestlers from around the world have seen their careers take some major hits and that is not a bad thing. While they may hurt the wrestling promotions in the short term, it is much better to get rid of these problems in the long term. Now, another name might be going away for a bit. One of the interesting points of the whole issue has been wrestling companies releasing or punishing wrestlers from all levels of competition. Some companies have had more issues than others and that is one of the best things that can happen. With so many wrestlers in trouble of some sort, it is a good sign that some companies are getting rid of anyone, no matter what. Another name is going to be gone for the time being. According to the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, NXT has released referees Joel Allen and Chris Roberts and suspended wrestler Joe Coffey. This comes after SpeakOut allegati..

Update On Walter’s NXT UK And WWE Status

•

He’s one of the big names. Back in 2018, WWE began running NXT UK as another brand under their rather huge umbrella. That made for some big signings as WWE brought in some of the top names from around Europe to create the NXT UK lineup. With NXT UK not exactly running as usual at the moment, one of the questions has become what might happen to some of their top names. It turns out that one major name has not changed. Back in January 2019 at Takeover: Blackpool, Pete Dunne successfully defended the United Kingdom Title against Joe Coffey. Dunne survived, keeping his title reign on the path to two full years. After the match was over though, Walter made his debut, seemingly challenging Dunne for the title. Walter would finally dethrone Dunne at Takeover: New York in April, making him an even bigger part of NXT UK. But what happens if NXT UK goes away? According to Wrestling Observer Radio, Walter is on a guaranteed contract with WWE, meaning that he will likely be paid even if NXT UK i..

New Monday Night Raw Listed With Fans Listed

•

A sign of things to come for Raw? The Coronavirus has changed the way WWE can do business as there are only so many things that they can do as far as presenting shows. With fans not being allowed in the arena, the shows have not exactly been the same for a long time now. They feel like glorified dress rehearsals at times, though those times may be changing in the near future. The lack of fans in attendance are causing a lot of issues for WWE, both from a presentation and financial perspective. Not having people pay to get into their shows has cut off a large revenue stream for WWE and that is something that they are going to need to correct as soon as possible. That may be easier said than done, but WWE is certainly making plans to turn things around. The Rocket Mortgage Fieldhouse in Cleveland, Ohio has announced a new WWE date, advertising Monday Night Raw on September 28. This is a rescheduled event, which was originally a SmackDown taking place on Friday April 17. There is a poss..

Several NXT UK Wrestlers And More Accused Of Sexual Assault And Harassment

•

This could be big. Back in 2017, the MeToo movement began and quickly gained steam, becoming international in a hurry. The idea was to gauge the amount of women who had been sexually assaulted or harassed and try to make some sort of a change. This led to a new era of fighting back against such issues, with Hollywood and politics being major areas of change. Now, it is wrestling’s turn. Earlier this week, independent wrestler David Starr was accused of sexual abuse and admitted to some of the allegations. On Thursday, this set off what is being called SpeakOut, as a host of allegations accusing other wrestlers, many of whom are from the United Kingdom, of sexual harassment or assault, have come forward. There have been allegations made against over several wrestlers, many of whom work for WWE under the NXT UK banner. The following list of examples is by no means exhaustive. One of the bigger names is NXT Cruiserweight Champion Jordan Devlin, who is accused of beating a woman named Ha..

Sexual Misconduct Allegations Against Jim Cornette And His Wife

•

This does not sound good. Thursday saw a host of major wrestling names being accused of either sexual assault or sexual harassment as wrestling’s version of the MeToo movement seemed to begin. This is a story that is going to be going around for a good while to come and that should be the case. There are a lot of names included, and one of the biggest is receiving more details than almost anyone else. Jim Cornette is one of the more controversial figures in all of wrestling. While he is one of the more knowledgeable names in the industry, some of his comments and statements have gone a good bit over the line. Couple that with Cornette’s very brash demeanor and it is no surprise that he is not going to be well received by some people. There are now allegations against him as well and they are not likely to go well either. On Thursday, former Ohio Valley Wrestling (OVW, of which Cornette owned a piece and was an on air performer) performer Phil Earley said that Cornette’s wife Stacey (..

WWE Affected By Orlando Mayor’s New Coronavirus Rules

•

The bigger boss speaks. WWE has been doing what it can to deal with the lack of fans in attendance at its television tapings. There is only so much that can be done in front of an empty building, but things have gotten a little better since they have begun using NXT wrestlers as a makeshift crowd. Something else has been missing from the shows though and now WWE may be forced to change things up. Since the Coronavirus pandemic began, medical masks have become a common sight around the world. People are trying to protect themselves from the spread of the virus and that is something that will be around for a long time. Sometimes you do not see them being worn though and that is the case at WWE events. That might be changed though and it may be out of WWE’s hands. According to the Orlando Sentinel, Orlando, Florida Mayor Jerry Dennings will be signing an executive order requiring all residents in Orlando, County to wear face masks in public. This includes employees of businesses and com..

RUMOR: Former World Champion Coming To Monday Night Raw

•

That would be a change. WWE has all kinds of talent available to them and they have been able to spread them out into three different rosters. They have one of the biggest collections of talented wrestlers in history and that will be the case going forward for a long time to come. That doesn’t mean everything stays the same though and they might be interested in changing things up a bit. AJ Styles is one of the more talented and well known names in all of professional wrestling. Not only has he succeeded almost all over the world but he has done it for a very long time now. Earlier this month he won the Intercontinental Title in an instant classic with Daniel Bryan. He was traded to SmackDown to enter the Intercontinental Title tournament, but that meant Monday Night Raw had to get someone in return. Now we might know who that was. According to the WrestleVotes Twitter account, Dolph Ziggler will be part of the Styles trade, meaning that he would be moving from SmackDown to Monday Ni..

Vince McMahon Taking Extra Interest In NXT

•

He had to get there eventually. There are a lot of different layers to the WWE structure and some of them receive a lot more attention than others. Not only are there the main WWE shows, but the developmental program is alive and well, with NXT growing from little more than filler programming to an actual third show. However, that third show might be about to change. While WWE is the biggest and most powerful wrestling company in the world and has been for a long time now, there are certain things about it that a lot of fans do not care for. A lot of this starts at the top with Vince McMahon, whose booking style has not been the most popular for a lot of fans. There are certain tropes that you will see from him and they might be making their way to NXT. According to Wrestling Observer Radio, McMahon has taken more of an interest in NXT as of late. This was evidenced by this week’s show, which included Robert Stone vomiting in the ring and the announcement of a Winner Take All match f..

Kevin Owens Skips Monday Night Raw Taping Over Coronavirus

•

He’ll be back later. The spread of the Coronavirus has changed the way the world works. Over the last few months, people have become a lot more cautious when it comes to potentially getting infected with the virus and for good reason. There are certain things that can be done to lower the risk of infection and that is the kind of thing that some wrestlers are doing in a big way. One of the bigger wrestling stories related to the Coronavirus has been the absence of various wrestlers from WWE’s television tapings. Some of them have not felt safe coming to the shows and that is rather understandable. This has included both Roman Reigns and Sami Zayn, the latter of whom was forced to vacate the Intercontinental Title as a result. Now another name is taking time off, but it might not be as long this time. According to Wrestling Observer Radio, Kevin Owens left this week’s WWE television tapings after news broke about an NXT wrestler testing positive for Coronavirus. This comes after Owens..

Why Bianca Belair Disappeared From Monday Night Raw

•

Where did you go? Callups from NXT can be a tricky thing. You never know how someone is going to do after making the jump to the next level as WWE has a tendency to not know what to do with someone. Just because something works in NXT does not mean it will be used on the main roster. That might be the case this time around, but there may be another explanation. Every now and then you come across a wrestler who is nothing short of an athletic marvel. They can be nothing short of amazing to watch in everything they do and that can make for some entertaining moments. That is certainly the case with Bianca Belair, who was a track and field star in college before moving on to professional wrestling. She was called up to Monday Night Raw just after WrestleMania but has not been seen in over a month. So what happened? According to Dave Meltzer on the Wrestling Observer Message Board, WWE has not had Belair working with the Street Profits because they decided to go with the comedy segments i..

VIDEO: Star Making Return To NXT

•

Nice to meet you. There is a structured system in WWE, with names going from NXT up to the main roster on a fairly regular basis. That makes for some interesting developments and it can be fun to see when someone goes up to the main roster. At the same time though, that leaves holes in the NXT lineup. Someone has to replace them, and now we know someone who will be doing just that. The Mae Young Classic was an interesting idea for WWE and it helped boost up the NXT roster for a long time to come. There are all kinds of names who made their debuts in the tournament and then went on to become big stars in NXT, NXT UK and even WWE. It was a great way to replenish the division and it is not even done yet, with one more name making it up to NXT. During this week’s NXT, a vignette aired showing Mercedes Martinez was returning to NXT. Martinez has had two runs with the promotion, including her current time, which began with a return at the Royal Rumble and a win on the February 5 edition of..
