Details On Goldberg’s Special Deal In WWE

•

I’d say he counts as special. There are a lot of wrestlers on the WWE roster and some of them are going to be treated like something more important. That could be the case for a lot of reasons, though some of them seem to be because they have earned a different status over the years. It seems to be the case with a certain legend who is back again for another run with the company. According to Wrestling Observer Radio, Goldberg is one of a few WWE stars with a special deal to appear on shows in Saudi Arabia. Goldberg receives a large bonus for appearing on the shows, which is why his matches will never be moved elsewhere ala Bobby Lashley vs. Randy Orton on Monday Night Raw last month. Goldberg does not currently have a match set for Crown Jewel on October 21, but he is expected to face Bobby Lashley in a Summerslam rematch. He has been in some big ones over there. Ring Of Honor TV Results – September 29, 2021

•

Ring of Honor Date: September 29, 2021 Location: UMBC Event Center, Baltimore, Maryland Commentators: Ian Riccaboni, Caprice Coleman Last week was a rather unique show as everything was focused on the Pure Rules division. That worked for a one off, but I could go for something else this week. Hopefully that is the case, as it should be time for the fallout from Death Before Dishonor. You never know what you’re getting around here though so let’s get to it. Opening sequence. Quinn McKay gives us the welcome and the rundown. Brian Johnson is ready to take over the Pure Rules division. PJ Black comes up and says if he wins, Johnson has to shake his hands. Deal. PJ Black vs. Brian Johnson Pure Rules and Johnson says Black is the only non-bozo on the roster. He even handles his own entrance to save Bobby Cruise some time. Black, Johnson’s former mentor, says he didn’t teach Johnson everything. They go to the mat to start with Black working on the arm, setting up a front facelock. A hea..

•

205 Live Date: October 1, 2021 Location: Capitol Wrestling Center, Orlando, Florida Commentators: Nigel McGuinness, Vic Joseph Things have actually changed around here a bit and that is a great thing to see. 205 Live has long since lost any appeal that it had so having some lower level NXT people getting some attention is a good thing. The show still doesn’t mean anything, but now it means something with some slightly more important people. Let’s get to it. Dante Chen vs. Malik Blade Feeling out process to start with Chen snapping off a hiptoss and grabbing an armbar. Some armdrags set up the armbar sequel but Blade is back up with a heck of a dropkick. Blade grabs his own armbar and Chen can’t even suplex his way to freedom. Chen fights up and hits a pump kick to the face, followed by a tilt-a-whirl backbreaker. The guillotine drop finishes Blade at 4:38. Result: Dante Chen b. Malik Blade – Guillotine drop (4:38) Amari Miller vs. Valentina Feroz Feroz grabs a headlock to start and..

Impact Wrestling Date: September 30, 2021 Location: Skyway Studios, Nashville, Tennessee Commentators: D’Lo Brown, Matt Striker We are on the way to Bound For Glory and we now have the main event set for the World Title. As a result of Josh Alexander giving up the X-Division Title to set up the main event, we need a new X-Division Champion and the tournament begins tonight. It’s time to get serious around here so let’s get to it. Opening recap. Opening sequence. X-Division Title Tournament First Round: Laredo Kid vs. Alex Zayne vs. Trey Miguel The winner goes on to the title match at Bound For Glory. Zayne hiptosses Kid over to Miguel for a hurricanrana but they’re all back up to miss dropkicks and that means a standoff. Kid is sent outside and Zayne hits a running twisting backsplash for two on Miguel. That doesn’t last long as Kid is back in to send Zayne outside but Miguel does the same, setting up a running hurricanrana over the top to flip Kid off the apron. Back in and Migue..

Big Update On Braun Strowman’s Future In Wrestling

•

That’s one way to go. Over the last few years, the wrestling industry has been dominated by WWE and AEW, both of which have been going after all kinds of talented wrestlers. It has made for some interesting decisions when a wrestler goes to one place or another, but not we are seeing another player come into the picture, at least for one specific former WWE star. According to Fightful Select, AEW and Adam Scherr, formerly known as Braun Strowman in WWE, have had conversations about Scherr coming in, but it does not seem that they will be working together. Instead, Scherr is expected to wind up in Impact Wrestling, which has reportedly been making a play for him in recent months. There is no word on when Scherr will make his debut with Impact Wrestling, assuming he signs there. Scherr made his return to the ring this weekend, defeating EC3 at Free The Narrative II. Former WWE Star Drops Hint About Coming To AEW Soon

•

He would work. There have been a lot of wrestlers leaving WWE over the last few months, some of whom have left the company against their will. That can make for some major shifts in the wrestling world, but it can also be rather interesting as you wait to see where these wrestlers wind up. Another former WWE star has dropped a major hint about where he might be going. This week’s edition of AEW Dynamite will feature the return of the Casino Ladder Match, which will see several wrestlers split into groups, who will enter the match at set times. There will also be a surprise entrant designated as the Joker, who will enter last. According to 411mania.com, former WWE star Buddy Matthews, better known as Buddy Murphy, tweeted out an image of joker. However, the tweet has since been deleted. Since his release from WWE, Matthews has wrestled a pair of independent matches but has not announced a signing with any promotion. AEW could be getting a heck of a star. WWE Making Plans For Two New Regular Series

Even more? If there is one thing that WWE is good at, it is producing content. The company has all kinds of shows throughout the week, some of which are institutions of professional wrestling. At the same time though, WWE also has several shows which might not get the same amount of attention. Now they are going to have the chance to showcase even more of their content. According to Fightful.com, WWE has filed trademarks for “Raw Rebound” and “SmackDown Breakdown”, both of which would be shows about wrestling. There is no word on when or where these would air, or if they would be replacing Raw Talk and Talking Smack. WWE has run Raw Rebound segments before, often during episodes of SmackDown to offer recaps of the week’s Monday Night Raw. Both shows could use another look. AEW Stars Have Their Eye On Another WWE Wrestler

He’s on the radar. The rise of AEW has changed the way wrestling works as we now have another high level promotion which has wrestlers jumping from one show to another. That is something that has not been taking place for several years and it makes things that much more exciting. Now it seems that AEW has their eyes on another talented WWE star and might want to bring him in. According to Wrestling Observer Radio, Chad Gable’s friends in AEW are hoping that he would jump over to the company because he would fit in well there. There is no word on when Gable’s WWE contract is up or if AEW has made any attempt to bring Gable in. Possible Reason Why WWE Split Up The New Day Again

•

Go over there? The WWE Draft is taking place this week and that means everyone is potentially going to be heading somewhere else. That has some positive and negative consequences, some of which are going to be rather noticeable. There have been wrestlers moved from one show to another and some teams have been split up. Now we may know why that was the case. Two of the picks in this year’s WWE Draft saw WWE Champion Big E. staying on Monday Night Raw while Kofi Kingston and Xavier Woods would be moved over to SmackDown. This would be the second year in a row that New Day has been split up in the Draft and comes only a few weeks after their reunion. According to Dave Meltzer on Wrestling Observer Radio, WWE’s theory is that Woods and Kingston bring Big E. down while WWE wants to push him. The moves will not go into effect until October 22. The team has had its moments together and apart. Check out a bit of both: [This post contains video, click to play] [This post contains video, cli..

That’s a special cameo. AEW has one of the most interesting and unique rosters in all of wrestling. That has been the case since the promotion debuted and it has been one of their strengths ever since. They have people wrestlers from various generations, all of whom have talents all their own. At some point you have to start building up the future though and that might be the case again. Evil Uno and Stu Grayson of the Dark Order were facing the team of High Seas at Squared Circle Wrestling’s Older, Fatter, Balder event over the weekend. Late in the match, Negative One, the son of Brodie Lee, appeared and interfered in the match, including superkicking a chair into the faces of one of the Dark Order’s opponents. VIDEO: How The Ring Broke At WWE Extreme Rules

•

So that’s how they did it. Sometimes wrestling needs to do something special to wrap up a match. Just having someone get a regular pin or a submission might not work well enough, so maybe the best choice is to come up with something new. It can be interesting to see what happens, but it might be even better know how how the trick worked. Now we have a better idea about what WWE did recently. The main event of last week’s WWE Extreme Rules pay per view saw Universal Champion Roman Reigns defending the title against the Fiend Finn Balor in the show’s namesake match. Balor made a comeback near the end, but the top rope broke as Balor was attempting to hit the Coup de Grace. A video has surfaced online, showing a cameraman cutting the rope, causing Balor to fall down. Reigns hit a spear to retain the title immediately thereafter. It was a heck of a fight. Two Wrestlers Injured On The Same Show, One Sent To Hospital

They just keep coming. Injuries can take place at any given time to any wrestler and it is never a good thing. Any wrestler being forced to miss time from the ring is a negative and unfortunately no one is immune to the possibility. What matters after an injury is finding out how long someone is going to be missing in action, and that is the question for two wrestlers over the weekend. According to Fightful.com, two wrestlers were injured during Saturday’s Major League Wrestling Fightland taping. First, Nicole Savoy suffered a broken rib during her match and was stretchered out, ultimately being taken to the hospital. Later in the show, TJP suffered an undisclosed injury but was not taken to the hospital as a result. There is no word on how much time either of them will be missing. RUMOR: Possible Sign That AEW Has Signed A New Star

Call it a clue? AEW has changed the way the wrestling world works, as there is now another mainstream wrestling promotion offering wrestlers a place to go. It has been a long time since wrestlers have been able to go anywhere but WWE and several have been taking the opportunity. That might be the case again, and there could be a rather interesting hint included. This week’s edition of AEW Rampage included a graphic advertising the Bobby Fish vs. Sammy Guevara match for Guevara’s TNT Title on next week’s Dynamite. The graphic included Fish wearing an official AEW shirt, suggesting that Fish may have signed with the company. This has not been confirmed, though Fish was reportedly going to be brought in for more than one appearance. Monday Night Raw Star To Miss “Extended” Time Due To Injury

That doesn’t sound good. Wrestlers are rather unique people, but at the same time they do have some things that are always going to be the same. Huge Report On WWE’s Relationship With The USA Network

•

They’re the ones that matter. WWE is a huge wrestling company but it doesn’t mean as much if the fans can’t see the product. That is where television is such an important asset to the company, as it makes WWE available to the masses. WWE has two major television deals with NBC Universal and FOX and we have already heard a bit more about their relationship with FOX. Now it is time for USA. Fightful Select has released a new report that looks at WWE’s current relationship with NBC Universal and the USA Network, which has both positive and negative aspects. USA is happy with having a unique roster from FOX, as they see the Brand Split similar to how the NFL airs on different television networks. They are also happy with the way NXT 2.0 has started off, including the viewership for the first episode and Tommaso Ciampa as a familiar NXT Champion. The network is also fine with edgier content on NXT, as its other shows present similar content as well. On the negative side, USA would like to..

Every Monday, Wednesday and Friday, I’ll be posting a new review here on Wrestlingrumors.net. It could be anything from modern WWE to old school to indies to anything in between. You’ll Be Seeing Some New Stars On Monday Night Raw And SmackDown

They’re the new stars. We are halfway through the 2021 WWE Draft and now we can see where a lot of things are going. That makes for some interesting moments, as the WWE roster needed to be shaken up. The problem with that is there are a lot of rosters to be shaken up, and some of the changes are not as great. One of the roster took a hit during the first night as the other two got a boost. Both Monday Night Raw and SmackDown selected NXT talent with picks during the first night of the Draft. First, SmackDown drafted the entire Hit Row stable, including B Fab, Isaiah Swerve Scott, Top Dolla and Ashante Thee Adonis. The team debuted in NXT on May 4 of this year. With the last pick of the night, Monday Night Raw selected Austin Theory. This is Theory’s second trip to the main roster, as he wrestled there during the spring and summer of 2020 before returning to NXT as part of the Way. There is potential here.
