“Serious” Injury Takes Place At AEW Revolution

You never want to see what. There are all kinds of matches in wrestling and some of them can be incredibly dangerous. While a wrestler can be hurt in any kind of match, there are certain matches that crank up the risk even higher. That can lead to a variety of injuries and now it seems that one such match might have led to an injury that could put a star on the shelf. Last weekend’s AEW Revolution pay per view included the Face of the Revolution ladder match, which included six competitors. According to Wrestling Observer Radio, Orange Cassidy suffered a shoulder injury when he was tossed over the ring and landed on a pile of wrestlers. There is no word on the severity of his injury or how long he might be out of action as a result, though he was described as the only “serious” injury of the night. Opinion: That is never good to hear and hopefully Cassidy’s injury is nothing serious and he will be back in action sooner rather than later. A match like that is going to have all kinds o..

WrestleMania 38 Title Match Gets Even Bigger

There’s room for more. We are less than a month away from WrestleMania 38 and the question is starting to become how to get as many people onto the show as possible. There are only so many places to put all of these people and that can make for some issues. WWE has a few ways to add people to the lineup and that is what they have done again as a title match has grown. This week on Monday Night Raw, Liv Morgan and Rhea Ripley defeated WWE Women’s Tag Team Champions Queen Zelina and Carmella in a non-title match. As a result, Morgan and Ripley have been added to the Women’s Tag Team Title match at WrestleMania 38, where Vega and Carmella are scheduled to defend against Sasha Banks and Naomi. The match is scheduled to take place on Sunday April 3. Opinion: I’m not wild on this kind of addition as it feels like a way to cram in everyone that can be placed into a match. What makes it worse is that these aren’t regular teams. They’re just women being thrown together and being given a title..

Title Change Takes Place On Monday Night Raw

History has been made! We are on the way to WrestleMania 38 and you can see most of the matches coming from here. There are going to be several title matches on the card but WWE still needs to officially set some of those matches. That might mean some titles changing hands, which was the case this week as some former champions got their hands on the gold again. This week on Monday Night Raw, RKBro (Randy Orton/Riddle) defeated Raw Tag Team Champions Alpha Academy and SethR ollins/Kevin Owens in a triple threat match to win the titles. The win marks RKBro’s second reign as champions after they lost the championships to Alpha Academy in January. Commentary suggested that the win would send RKBro to WrestleMania 38 as champions. Opinion: This is a bit of a surprise and makes me wonder how necessary the initial title change was. At least there is something for RKBro to do at WrestleMania, as I was starting to think they might split the team up. Owens and Rollins can go on to do whatever ..

Monday Night Raw Live Coverage And Results – March 7, 2022

Monday Night Raw Date: March 7, 2022 Location: Rocket Mortgage Fieldhouse, Cleveland, Ohio Commentators: Jimmy Smith, Corey Graves, Byron Saxton We are less than a month away from Wrestlemania and that means we are probably going to start some of the harder pushes to the show this week. In theory we should be getting some more matches set for the show, as probably about half of it has been set. There is also a Tag Team Title match this week so let’s get to it. The post Monday Night Raw Live Coverage And Results – March 7, 2022 appeared first on WrestlingRumors.net.

Asuka Calls Out Inaccurate Medical Updates

She would know best. There are all kinds of reasons for a wrestler to be kept out of the ring and some of them can be quite serious. Sometimes you are going to see a wrestler get hurt and kept on the shelf for a very long time, which can make for a very long wait as they get back to full health. That is the case for a popular WWE star, but it seems that she might be out longer than expected. In recent weeks, reports have begun to pop up saying that WWE’s Asuka is ready to return to the ring after a several month layoff. However, Asuka has replied to some of the reports on Twitter, saying that she is not yet medically cleared. Asuka has not wrestled since Money in the Bank 2021 and there is no word on when she will be back in the ring or what she will be doing. Opinion: This is the kind of thing that is going to happen occasionally and that is not the biggest surprise. Asuka has been out of action for the better part of a year now and it is going to lead to speculation that she is cle..

Another Star Leaving Impact Wrestling, Officially A Free Agent

Welcome to the club. There are a lot of wrestlers in the world today and only a handful of them are able to make it to some of the bigger promotions. It is not something that can be fixed, as there simply is not enough room for everyone in those companies. That means someone leaving a higher profile promotion is a big deal and that seems to have happened again, albeit without much fanfare. Jake Something has announced that he has finished up with Impact Wrestling after his match at last weekend’s Sacrifice event. Something is leaving Impact on good terms and there is a chance that the two could work together again in the future. During his time in Impact, Something worked as a singles and tag wrestler, teaming with his cousin Deaner as the Deaners. Opinion: That is the kind of thing that just happens occasionally but now Something can go somewhere else. Something was not a major player in Impact but he was starting to move up the ladder a bit when he left. I could go for seeing where..

Wrestling Legend Receives Very Special Award

I think he has earned it. Wrestling is a unique sport compared to its mainstream counterparts, as the accomplishments that wrestlers win are predetermined. In addition, the wrestlers are not permanent champions as they will lose any titles they win to someone else. There is very little that is seen as a true lifetime achievement but one legend has earned one of his own. As revealed on Twitter, Terry Funk has officially received the Stanley Weston Lifetime Achievement Award from Pro Wrestling Illustrated. Funk was presented with the award by his friend Manny Fernandez. Funk began wrestling in 1965 and wrestled his last match in 2017. He has been living in an assisted living facility in recent months due to having troubles with his memory. IMG Credit: Brian Solomon’s Twitter Opinion: Funk is one of those all time legends that would have only worked in professional wrestling. It is great to see him getting this kind of recognition, but at the same time it is sad to see what has happened..

WWE Announces New Hall Of Fame Inductee

He has earned it. There are very few honors in wrestling that last forever. While titles and championships are the most well known prizes, at some point, a wrestler is going to lose their belt and it will go on to someone else. That does not leave many options for recognition that continues forever, but now one legend is receiving such an honor that is long overdue. WWE has announced that Vader will be posthumously inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame Class of 2022. Vader wrestled for WWE from 1996-1998 and is a former three time WCW World Champion while also winning World Titles internationally. There is no word on who will be inducting Vader into the Hall of Fame. The induction ceremony takes place on April 1 after SmackDown, with the Undertaker being the only other inductee. Opinion: I’m not sure how Vader was never inducted before this as he is someone who could have given an interesting speech. Vader was one of the best monsters that you will ever see and it is great that he is fi..

What Happened After AEW Revolution, Hangman Page Addresses Crowd

We aren’t done yet. There is a lot of wrestling content out there today but some of it is treated as a bigger deal than others. Some of the shows that you see are good enough that a company asks you to pay for it, which can often mean the quality goes up. That means some better matches, one of which was such an important deal that the winner had something to say after the show was over. The main event of AEW’s Revolution pay per view saw Hangman Page defeat Adam Cole to retain the AEW World Title. According to PWInsider.com, Page addressed the crowd after the match, saying that he was sorry for going to a dark place to defeat Cole. Page also said that AEW could line up any opponent that they wanted and he would take their head off, saying he would do anything to retain the title. There is no word on who will be Page’s next challenger. Opinion: That is the kind of still in character response that makes sense for Page, who is still not that far into his reign as World Champion. Page co..

WWE Wanted To Shut Ring Of Honor Down

They had a plan for that. Last week, AEW President Tony Khan announced that he had purchased Ring of Honor Wrestling, marking a new era for the company. At the moment there is no word on what Khan will be doing with Ring of Honor, but one of the rumors has been that it will become AEW’s developmental territory. That is one use for it, but WWE had another idea in mind. According to the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, WWE considered purchasing Ring of Honor in 2018. Had WWE purchased the company, they would have shut it down rather than using it for anything else so as to avoid competition with NXT. WWE would have used the Ring of Honor tape library on the WWE Network and for various documentaries, but the promotion itself would have been gone. Opinion: This is one of those things that might make sense for WWE but it doesn’t exactly do well for the fans. I can go for the idea of having more wrestling around and Ring of Honor is something with some value. The tape library would be valuab..

Longtime Pair Seem To Split At AEW Revolution

It took long enough. There are all kinds of ways to present a story in wrestling and one of the most interesting is when you pair a few people together. That opens up all kinds of opportunities for stories to tell, some of which can take their time. One of the more common ways to go is to have the two split up and that might be what we saw this weekend on a big stage. One of the featured matches at this weekend’s AEW Revolution pay per view saw CM Punk vs. Maxwell Jacob Friedman in a dog collar match. Late in the match, Friedman called for his bodyguard Wardlow to bring him the Dynamite Diamond Ring. Wardlow came to ringside but did not have the ring, saying he couldn’t find it. After Punk took Friedman out, Wardlow produced the ring, saying that it was in the other pocket, which allowed Punk to knock Friedman out with it for the win. Commentary said that it meant Wardlow and Friedman had split, ending their on-screen relationship after more than two years. Opinion: It’s about time, ..

Former WWE Mainstay Makes Surprise AEW Debut, Officially Signed

Welcome to the team. There have been so many changes to so many wrestling rosters that it can be difficult to keep track of where everyone is going. That is not a bad thing as it leads to some surprising moments and highly promoted debuts. Sometimes you see someone other than a wrestler making their debut though and that was the case this weekend. Sunday night’s AEW Revolution pay per view featured the debut of William Regal. Following Jon Moxley’s victory over Bryan Danielson, the two began to fight again. Regal came to the ring and ordered the two men to shake hands, which they eventually did. Later in the night, AEW President Tony Khan tweeted that Regal had officially signed with the company. Regal worked for WWE for over twenty years before being released in January. #AEWRevolution @RealKingRegal pic.twitter.com/fZY3q6rz7b — Tony Khan (@TonyKhan) March 7, 2022 Opinion: This is one of the signings that I was waiting for as Regal was always an odd choice for a release. He has be..

BREAKING: AEW Debuts Another Former WWE Star

Welcome to the house. There are some incredibly talented wrestlers on the AEW roster and that has been a major part of their success. The company has managed to bring in a variety of wrestlers who have not gotten a chance elsewhere, allowing for quite a few fresh matches. Now they may be doing that again with a former WWE star who was released before getting his real shot. During this weekend’s AEW Revolution pay per view, Shane “Swerve” Strickland made his debut and officially signed his contract with the company. This comes after Strickland had been rumored to sign with the company over the last several weeks. There is no word on when Strickland will debut. Strickland wrestled for WWE under the name Isaiah Scott before being released less than a month after being called up to the main roster from NXT. Opinion: This isn’t exactly a surprise as it has been rumored for a few weeks now but it is absolutely a nice thing to see. Strickland should have been a much bigger deal in WWE but t..

AEW Revolution 2022 Live Coverage And Results

Revolution 2022 Date: March 6, 2022 Location: Addition Financial Arena, Orlando, Florida Commentators: Excalibur, Jim Ross, Tony Schiavone We’re back on pay per view and that is usually a pretty good thing for AEW. This is an absolutely packed show with a twelve match (counting the Buy In) card, featuring a double main event of Hangman Page defending the World Title against Adam Cole and a dog collar match between CM Punk and MJF. Let’s get to it. Buy-In: Leyla Hirsch vs. Kris Statlander Grudge match. Leyla wastes no time in hammering away and taking Statlander down. They head outside, with Hirsch tying the arm up in the steps and crushing it hard for a nasty visual. Back in and Statlander gets in a shot of her own, only to get tied in the Tree of Woe. The arm is tied in the ropes again and there’s a running dropkick to said arm, knocking Statlander back to the mat. Statlander avoids a shot though and it’s a bodyscissors to keep Hirsch down. That’s broken up and they slug it out unt..

Yes, Again: Impact Wrestling Star Suffers Another Injury This Weekend

That woman is cursed. There are certain wrestlers who have all the talent in the world but one thing or another holds them back for some reason. Sometimes it might not even be their fault, but something keeps happening. That might come in the form of injuries, which can often put them on the shelf. It seems to have happened again, as a certain wrestler seems to be cursed. Impact Wrestling’s Chelsea Green has announced that she injured her wrist during this weekend’s Sacrifice event. Green suffered the injury during a match against Deonna Purrazzo. This is the same wrist that she injured during her first match in NXT. She also suffered an arm injury during her debut on SmackDown. There is no word on how long Green will be out of action. I could copy & paste this caption by now… lol Thank you for the support, calls and texts. ? Sh*t happens, but @IMPACTWRESTLING has my back. pic.twitter.com/Jr47bk3TZy — CHELSEA GREEN (@ImChelseaGreen) March 6, 2022 Yep — CHELSEA GREEN (@ImChelseaGr..

AEW Revolution 2022 Preview, Predictions And Thoughts

It’s back to the pay per view schedule for AEW and that is a great thing to hear. AEW has a pretty awesome track record for pay per views and there is a good chance that it will do the same here. This time is a bit different though as there is a staggering twelve match card with three matches taking place on the Buy In. The positive thing is that the matches look good, but dang that is a lot. Let’s get to it. Buy-In: QT Marshall vs. Hook We’ll start off with one of the fun ones here as Hook has taken AEW by storm in his still short career. What seemed to start off as little more than a big joke has turned into a pretty great run from Hook, who has smashed a variety of people without overstaying his welcome once. I believe this will be his first live match though and that could make for a new challenge. He has been sent: [This post contains video, click to play] I mean, I say challenge as seriously as it can be meant as it’s Marshall across the ring from him, meaning Hook wins this ..

Former World Champion Makes Surprise Return At Impact Wrestling: Sacrifice

Surprise surprise. There have been a lot of moves made from on almost every wrestling promotions roster in the last several months and all kinds of wrestlers have jumped from company to company. That has happened so often that it is almost strange to see someone stick around, but it does happen from time to time. It was the situation again this week when a big return went down. The main event of this weekend’s Impact Wrestling Sacrifice event saw Moose successfully defend the World Title against Heath. After the match was over, Josh Alexander made his return to the company after three weeks away, announcing that he had signed a new long term contract with Impact Wrestling. This came after Alexander’s previous contract had expired and he had returned to Canada. Alexander also said that he would be challenging for the World Title at Rebellion on April 23. Opinion: This is something that Impact Wrestling almost had to do as Alexander has been the centerpiece of the company for most of t..

Three Title Changes Take Place Saturday Night

History has been made twice! Titles have long since been the focal point of wrestling promotions and that is not a surprise. They are the easiest concepts in the wrestling world and that will be the case for a long time to come. Wrestlers can win, lose or challenge for a title and have an instant story to be told, making putting a story together that much easier. That was the case twice over the weekend. Three titles changed hands at Impact Wrestling’s Sacrifice event on Saturday night. First, the Knockouts Tag Team Titles changed hands as the IInfluence defeated the IInspiration to win the titles for the first time. Later in the show, Tasha Steelz won the Knockouts Title from Mickie James, marking her first reign with the title. Finally, the Good Brothers lost the Tag Team Titles to Eric Young and Joe Doering of Violent By Design, marking the group’s second reign with the championships. All of the other champions retained their titles on the night. Opinion: It was certainly an event..

WATCH: Bloody, Violent Ending To WWE Live Event At Madison Square Garden

That’s the big one. WWE has been around for a long time and the company has a certain group of traditions that they follow. There are matches that are held, events that take place and special places to go, but nothing is as important as Madison Square Garden. The venue is the home base of company and it is still a special place for WWE. They were back this week and something big happened. One of the major selling points of this weekend’s WWE live event at Madison Square Garden was the idea of Brock Lesnar’s challenge for the WWE Title. Austin Theory wound up challenging Lesnar in a losing effort, but after the match, Universal Champion Roman Reigns and the Usos attacked Lesnar and left him bloodied to end the show. Lesnar and Reigns are scheduled to square off at WrestleMania 38 in a title unification match. Impact Wrestling Results – March 3, 2022

Impact Wrestling Date: March 3, 2022 Location: Alario Center, Westwego, Louisiana Commentators: Matthew Rehwoldt, Tom Hannifan Somehow it’s already the go home show for Sacrifice and the card is mostly set. The big match on the show seems to be the Tag Team Title match as Moose defending the World Title against Heath is only so important. Odds are they will add one or two more things to the card tonight so let’s get to it. Opening recap. Opening sequence. Eddie Edwards vs. Steve Maclin Maclin starts the brawl in the aisle and they slug it out, with Maclin hitting a running knee. They go inside for the opening bell and Maclin punches him right back to the floor, setting up a hard suicide dive. Back in and Eddie grabs a Blue Thunder Bomb to take over but they trade running forearms for a double knockdown. They slug it out until Maclin hits a running clothesline but Eddie catches him on top with a running boot. Maclin knocks him into the Tree of Woe and hits the spear in the corner to..
