Him? WWE Presents Very Surprising Name As Face Of Monday Night Raw

•

They seem to be impressed. WWE has been around for a very long time and it means a lot to be one of the company’s featured stars. If you are one of the focal points of WWE, it suggests that you are going to be a major player in the wrestling industry and that means your face is going to be seen in a lot of places. That was the case again this week and the face might have been a surprise. This weekend, the United States Football League returned after a nearly forty year absence. The broadcast of at least one game included an advertisement for WWE Monday Night Raw and SmackDown. While the SmackDown side of the graphic featured Roman Reigns, the Monday Night Raw side featured Cody Rhodes. This comes after Rhodes returned to the company less than a month ago at WrestleMania 38 and suggests that Rhodes will be a featured star both on Monday Night Raw and on WWE programming in general. WATCH: And Now, The Young Bucks vs. The Easter Bunny

•

Does that make them superheroes? There are very few teams as controversial as the Young Bucks. The former AEW Tag Team Champions have dominated a lot of the tag team scene around the world for several years. Their success cannot be argued, but their style is something that has not caught on with a lot of fans. Now they have done something outside of the ring that might be a bit controversial as well. It’s certainly timely. Check out the Young Bucks’ latest exploit: [This post contains video, click to play] The Young Bucks have released a video on Instagram showing the two of them attacking the Easter Bunny. In the video, a young girl tells the team that the Easter Bunny is creepy. The Easter Bunny is shown flipping off the crowd, causing the Young Bucks to double superkick him into an inflatable. There is no word on who may have portrayed the Easter Bunny in the video. Opinion: I know he might have been creepy, but they just beat up the Easter Bunny! That is one of those things tha..

WATCH: Roman Reigns Breaks Character At WWE Show In Heartfelt Moment

•

That’s a rare one. There are very few stars in WWE history who have reached the level of Roman Reigns. Having held the Universal Title for over six hundred days, Reigns is one of the longest reigning champions in WWE history and the question becomes who could possibly take the title off of him. Reigns is a special star, but he did something very interesting this weekend at a live event. Following a victory over Drew McIntyre in the main event of Saturday’s live event in Erie, Pennsylvania, Reigns broke character to thank the fans for helping him get through the last month. Reigns said it was his first time in the ring since WrestleMania and thanked the fans for supporting them. In addition, Reigns asked fans not to put it on social media because he would deny it and say that the video was a hologram. That’s some good hologramming. Check out what Reigns had to say: [This post contains video, click to play] Opinion: This is the kind of thing that you don’t get to see very often but i..

WWE Star’s Name Used In Horrible Scam Costing Fans A Lot Of Money

•

That’s horrible. Wrestlers have an interesting job when it comes to performing, as they have to keep things safe while also making fans believe that what they are seeing is real. That is easier said than done but the best stars have the ability to make it work. Sometimes people take a similar skill in an extremely wrong direction though and that seems to be the case again in relation to a WWE star. WWE’s Liv Morgan has posted some tweets begging fans not to believe others impersonating her online. Morgan says that someone has been talking to fans while posing as her and asking for money. This has caused one fan to sell his house and everything he owned, thinking he was helping Morgan. She made it clear that she has not asked for anything and begged people to stop using her name or sending money to someone posing as her. Guys I’ve been sent so many emails of horror stories about people making fake accounts and emails pretending to be me & asking for huge amounts of money. This really ..

Update: Bad News On Jonathan Gresham’s Health Status

•

That doesn’t sound good. An injury is one of the worst things that you can see in wrestling as you never know how long someone is going to be out of action. What can make it even worse is the kind of injury that is under the surface and has no real timetable to heal up. That is the case again with a current prominent star, and now things are already looking a bit worse. Earlier this week, Ring Of Honor World Champion Jonathan Gresham suffered a possible concussion in a match against Dalton Castle at AEW Battle Of The Belts II. The injury has not yet been confirmed, but Progress Wrestling has announced that Gresham will be missing his appearances for the company in the UK this weekend. The company did say that he will be back in action on May 15. There is no word on when Gresham might be wrestling before then. Regrettably, due to injury, Jonathan Gresham is not medically cleared to make the trip to the UK this weekend. Replacements will be named shortly for both #AtlasWeekend events. ..

Ring Of Honor TV Results – April 13, 2022

•

Ring Of Honor Date: April 13, 2022 We’re still in the vault years and that has been a lot of fun so far. There is so much great material throughout Ring Of Honor’s history and it is a blast to pull out some random matches and see what else is in there. I have no idea what to expect here and that is always a nice feeling. Let’s get to it. Opening sequence. From the 2nd Anniversary Show, February 14, 2004. Pure Wrestling Title: CM Punk vs. AJ Styles For the inaugural title. Feeling out process to start with Punk being sent into the ropes, which counts for the first (of three rope breaks). Styles gets backed up as well and grabs the rope for a reversal, which means a break of his own (even if it didn’t seem intentional). They run the ropes until AJ slips to the floor to go after Traci Brooks (Punk’s manager). The distraction lets Punk take him down with a dive but Styles sends him into the barricade. They fight into the crowd and you can’t see a thing. It’s Punk in control as they co..

Possible Injury At AEW Battle Of The Belts II

•

That isn’t good. Injuries can derail anything in wrestling as you never know when you might see someone put on the shelf. A wrestler can get hurt at any point and take them out of action, no matter what they are doing or how talented they might be. Unfortunately that seems to be the case again, as a fairly prominent wrestler might have gotten hurt in a high profile match. According to Fightful Select, Ring Of Honor World Champion Jonathan Gresham was checked out for a concussion following his title defense against Dalton Castle at AEW Battle Of The Belts II. There is no word on Gresham’s condition or the results of the test. The potential injury was said to take place early in the match when Gresham took a gutwrench suplex from Castle. Opinion: You never want to see anything like this as any kind of injury and a concussion is one of the nastiest that you are going to see. What matters most is Gresham being ok, as this is the kind of thing that could keep him on the shelf for a long t..

Get Your Name Tags Ready: Even More WWE Names Being Changed

•

Yes, again. WWE does all kinds of things in any given week and a lot of them are business as usual. Occasionally they will get on a run of strange decisions though and it can make things seem a bit confusing. That has been the case as of late with a series of name changes, and now it seems that WWE is planning to change even more names, no matter how odd they may be. According to PWInsider.com, WWE is planning to change the names of two more longstanding members of the NXT roster. Kacy Catanzaro will now be known as Katana Blade and Kay Lee Ray will become Alba Fyre. There is no word on if this means either of the two will be called up to the main roster. This is part of Vince McMahon’s new rule that no wrestler can use part of their real name or a name they used outside of WWE. Opinion: This is WWE’s thing at the moment and it isn’t exactly something that makes the most sense. It’s McMahon’s latest whim, but at the same time it is really annoying to see these people build up a name ..

Some More NXT Wrestlers Are Heading To Another Show

Jump around? There are so many wrestlers on the WWE roster that it can be easy to forget where some of them are. To make it more complicated, sometimes you see wrestlers appear on other shows, which has been the case even more frequently as of late. Now it seems like it will be happening again, as three NXT wrestlers seem set to appear on another show. NXT wrestlers Lash Legend, Ivy Nile and Damon Kemp have posted photos of themselves in front of an NXT UK logo, suggesting that the three of them will be appearing on the show soon. That’s A Record: Title Change Takes Place At AEW Battle Of The Belts

•

History has been made! There are a lot of titles in the wrestling world and some of them are defended very regularly. A title change means a lot as you can see the new direction a company is taking. While they don’t happen very often, it still means a lot when one does. That was the situation again this week as a former champion regained the title in a pretty big grudge match. This weekend at AEW Battle Of The Belts, Sammy Guevara defeated Scorpio Sky to win the TNT Title for a record tying third time. The win came as Guevara hit Sky low and gave him the GTH for the pin. This came after the two had been feuding for several weeks with Sky refusing to give Guevara a title match. Sky had taken the title from Guevara in March, holding it for 36 days. Opinion: I’m a bit surprised by the title change but it is the kind of thing that you need to have on a show built around championships. Guevara seems like he is heading for a turn to the dark side as well so things could be getting even mor..

AEW Battle Of The Belts II Live Coverage And Results

Battle Of The Belts II Date: April 16, 2022 Location: Curtis Culwell Center, Garland, Texas Commentators: Excalibur, Taz, Tony Schiavone It’s time for another special as AEW is back with a focus on the titles. That could make for a big night, as we are fresh off a World Title match this week on Rampage. This show is another hour long deal, which tends to mean a focus on in ring actiaon. AEW tends to thrive there so let’s get to it. Opening sequence. TNT Title: Scorpio Sky vs. Sammy Guevara Sky, with the rest of the Men of the Year is defending while Guevara has Tay Conti with him. Guevara gets knocked back to start and Sky hammers away before things reset a bit. They fight over a suplex attempt before Guevara clotheslines him down. Sky slams him on the floor and a mostly missed TKO over the top rope sends them both back outside. We take a break and come back with Sky hitting a pair ..

Hall Of Famer Returning To WWE TV Next Week

•

Welcome back. Commentary is one of the most important parts of a wrestling show. The commentary team is there to tell you what is going on but also to guide fans in the direction the company is wanting. That is easier said than done and the right team is hard to put together. Next week is going to feature someone very familiar who is not around all that often anymore. WWE Hall of Famer Jerry Lawler has announced via his Instagram Stories that he will be back on commentary next week on Monday Night Raw. This will be the second straight week on commentary for Lawler, who is replacing Corey Graves as he is on his honeymoon with Carmella. Lawler has done commentary for WWE on and off for about thirty years but has only made occasional appearances on Monday Night Raw in recent years. Opinion: Lawler is kind of perfect for a spot like this as he is both familiar but also someone who is not around very often and still feels special. I’m not sure how long he is going to be around but at leas..

WWE Teases Splitting Up Yes Another Tag Team

•

Yes, again. Tag teams have a weird history in WWE. The company has a tendency to break up tag teams out of nowhere, occasionally even seeming to put them together for the sake of splitting them. It does not leave teams with that much time to get things going and now there is a chance that another team might be split up, at least after this week’s edition of SmackDown. This week on SmackDown, Madcap Moss defeated Humberto in a singles match. The match included Humberto’s Los Lotharios partner Angel interfering. Following the match, Angel yelled at Humberto, suggesting that there are issues between the two. Angel is currently scheduled to face Moss in a singles match next week. There is no word on the two of them possibly splitting up. The two began teaming together as Los Lotharios in September 2021. Opinion: I don’t know if this means the team is going to be splitting up, but this is the pattern that WWE teams tend to follow on their way to breaking up. I’m not sure why the team migh..

WRESTLING RUMORS: John Cena Returning To WWE TV

•

I think he would be welcomed back. There are a lot of wrestlers throughout WWE’s history but very few of them are close to the level of John Cena. After being on top of the company for such a long time, Cena has become one of the biggest legends in WWE history. Cena is the top star of the most recent generation but has since moved on to Hollywood for the most part. He will still come back every now and then though, and that might be the case again. According to Brad Shepherd’s Unleashed Patreon, Cena is expected to return to WWE television at some point in late June. There is no word on what he will be doing or which show he will be appearing on. Cena last appeared on WWE television in August 2021 when he lost in the main event of Summerslam against Roman Reigns. It is not clear if Cena will be wrestling or how long he will be back. Opinion: This could certainly be a big deal for WWE, as Cena is as big of a star as they have who might appear on more than one or two shows. Cena is som..

Wrestling Legend Reveals Very Bad Health News

That doesn’t sound good. There have been so many wrestlers throughout the years and some of them have become names that are known to most wrestling fans. It can be interesting to see what they are doing after they leave the ring, though that does not necessarily mean it is a good thing. Virgil revealed on Twitter that he has suffered two major strokes and has been diagnosed with an early form of dementia. Backstage News On Vince McMahon Ordering Recent WWE Name Changes

•

It’s a change. A wrestler’s name is their identity, as a change can mark a huge shift in everything about them. The right or wrong name can make all the difference in the world to a wrestler and that is still the case today. Sometimes you see someone’s name changed to something else and that has been the case a lot as of late in WWE. Now we know the thinking behind the changes. According to the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Vince McMahon has sent out a memo to WWE talent, saying that he does not want them using their real names or the names they used before coming to WWE. This explains name changes to Raquel Gonzalez (now Raquel Rodriguez), Marcel Barthel (Ludwig Klaus) and Raul Mendoza (Cruz del Toro). The rules apply to new talent debuting and will not result in established names being changed. Opinion: This is one of the most McMahon things that I have heard in a long time, as it is such a random change that means nothing to almost anyone but him. Does the name Gonzalez or Rodrig..

NXT Star Appears Before SmackDown In A Very Different Role

•

There might be a place for him. Wrestlers have a lot of things to cover every time they are in front of an audience. While the focal point is going to be in the ring, there are other things that need to be done as well. One of the most important is the ability to talk, as fans need a reason to care about someone. Now we might be seeing a new talker coming up to the main roster soon. According to PWInsider.com, NXT’s LA Knight appeared in a dark segment before this week’s edition of SmackDown. Knight appeared in a suit and announced that he was creating Knight Model Management as a manager rather than a wrestler. He introduced Mace as his first client and helped him defeat Erik. This is seen as a tryout for a potential managerial role for Knight on the main roster. Opinion: While I’m disappointed in Knight only being brought up to the main roster for his talking abilities, it’s better than having him languish down in NXT any longer. Knight is a talented guy and someone who is able to ..

WWE Roster Reportedly Worried About More Releases

•

They have reason to worry. One of the biggest wrestling stories over the last few years has been the amount of releases WWE has made. Hundreds of wrestlers have been let go from the company over the last two years, which has completely reshaped the way the company works. The releases have come out of nowhere and now they might be coming up again for some of the remaining wrestlers. According to Fightful’s Sean Ross Sapp, several WWE wrestlers have been concerned about possible upcoming releases, possibly as soon as Friday. There were no releases announced on Monday and a WWE higher up said that they did not know of any that were upcoming. WWE has not released any names since January when they let several NXT trainers go from the company. I know a lot of people have been concerned about "WWE release day" today, including much of the talent. At least one higher up told me that they didn't know of any releases set to happen today, if you'd like to take their word for it. — S..
