Surprise Return Takes Place At The End Of WWE Monday Night Raw

•

Welcome back. There are a lot of wrestlers today and not all of them are in WWE or AEW. It can be interesting to see where those wrestlers wind up, as some of them will either debut or return to one of the bigger promotions. That can make for some very interesting moments, especially if the return is a surprise. That was the case this week as a familiar face came back to WWE. There was a story taking place in the background this week on Monday Night Raw involving a car. During the show, wrestlers were seen looking at a wrecked car in the parking lot. Later, the car was put on a tow truck, with police offers running from the scene of the crash into the arena. At the end of the show, the police arrested a man in the crowd, who was identified as former NXT star Dexter Lumis. This would be Lumis’ first appearance since April when he was released from his WWE contract. Opinion: For the first time in a good while, I’m curious about where a story is going. Lumis was around NXT for a long ti..

Monday Night Raw Results – August 8, 2022

•

Monday Night Raw Date: August 8, 2022 Location: Rocket Mortgage Fieldhouse, Cleveland, Ohio Commentators: Jimmy Smith, Corey Graves, Byron Saxton This could be a very interesting show, as we are coming off last week’s pretty awesome episode, but now the question is how they follow it up. They certainly don’t need to have some big moment or debut/return, but keep up the energy and put on a good show and they should be fine. Let’s get to it. We open with a recap of Bayley/Iyo Shirai/Dakota Kai coming together at Summerslam and running some roughshod last week. We get the brackets for the Women’s Tag Team Title tournament: Tamina/Dana Brooke Iyo Sky/Dakota Kai Alexa Bliss/Asuka Nikki Ash/Doudrop Raquel Rodriguez/Aliyah Xia Li/Shotzi Nikkita Lyons/Zoey Stark Natalya/Sonya Deville Here are Bayley, Iyo Sky and Dakota Kai for a chat. Bayley: “DING DONG!” Bayley can’t believe that she’s getting this kind of a reception when the fans need her. They are here to save this women’s division..

Backstage News On Karrion Kross’ Push In WWE

•

Tick tock. Perhaps the biggest story in professional wrestling this past week has been the return of Karrion Kross to WWE. He attacked Drew McIntyre in the closing moments of last week’s episode of SmackDown. According to a report from PWInsider, WWE is planning to push Kross to be the No. 2 heel on the blue brand, behind Roman Reigns. In addition, Scarlett will continue to manage him and isn’t currently planning to be wrestling regularly, but that could be a possibility in the future. The report also states that after the pair were released last year, there was still regular communication between them and the company. Kross is also expected to complete his independent wrestling appearances that were signed prior to his return to WWE as much as possible. Editor’s Opinion: Can you blame WWE for making this decision? The pair was easily one of the best things about NXT during the COVID-19 pandemic, and I still, to this day, don’t understand why Vince McMahon decided to release them f..

Ding Dong Hello! Huge New Grudge Match Added To WWE Clash At The Castle

•

Add it to the card. We are on the way to WWE Clash At The Castle, which is going to be one of the biggest events that WWE has ever presented. The show will be the first United Kingdom WWE event to take place inside a stadium in over thirty years and that means WWE is going to have to stack the card. They have already gotten a good start, but now things have gone even bigger. This week’s Monday Night Raw opened with Bayley, Iyo Sky and Dakota Kai being interrupted by Alexa Bliss, Asuka and Bianca Belair. The six women argued and Bayley issued a challenge for a six woman tag, with Belair accepting for the team. Bayley, Sky and Kai returned at Summerslam and attacked Becky Lynch the following night on Monday Night Raw, putting her out of action. Clash At The Castle takes place on September 3. Opinion: That is a smart way to bring Bayley back rather than putting her straight into what seems like a guaranteed Raw Women’s Title feud with Bianca Belair. Let her have the six woman tag where ..

WWE Reveals Women’s Tag Team Title Tournament Field, NXT Stars Included

•

You have to start somewhere. There are a lot of titles in WWE and holding a championship still means quite a bit. Winning a title can be a game changer for a wrestler and often serves as the start of someone’s move up to the next level. There are a few ways to become a champion and now we have a better idea of how two people will be winning a title at once. WWE has released the brackets for the tournament to crown new Women’s Tag Team Champions with the first round beginning this week on Monday Night Raw: Tamina/Dana Brooke Iyo Sky/Dakota Kai Alexa Bliss/Asuka Nikki Ash/Doudrop Raquel Rodriguez/Aliyah Xia Li/Shotzi Nikkita Lyons/Zoey Stark Natalya/Sonya Deville The tournament is being held after Naomi and Sasha Banks walked out on WWE in May, vacating the titles in the process. It is not clear when the finals will be taking place or if Lyons and Stark have been called up from NXT permanently. Opinion: That is a pretty nice field for the tournament and I’m curious to see how well..

•

He opened some eyes. There are a lot of talented wrestlers throughout the world and it can be a lot of fun to see someone pop up out of nowhere and become a star on the big stage. That is the case with a new star in AEW but he has a few changes coming up and they could lead to something even bigger down the line. Konosuke Takeshita made his AEW debut on the April 25 edition of AEW Dark: Elevation and has since moved on to face various top AEW stars. According to Wrestling Observer Radio, Takeshita is currently on excursion from DDT-Pro in Japan for one year and is currently living in the United States. AEW and DDT-Pro have a good relationship though and Takeshita would be allowed back at any time. In addition, WWE is said to be looking for a Japanese wrestler with a “large build”, which fits Takeshita’s description. It it unknown when Takeshita’s DDT-Pro contract expires or if he is interested in signi..

Bray Wyatt Posts Cryptic Message On His Feelings About Wrestling

•

The Eater of Worlds has spoken. Earlier today, bray Wyatt posted a cryptic message on his Twitter account where he addressed his thoughts about professional wrestling. He talks about what he believes wrestling is and why it is important to its fans and to the public in general. Wyatt had the following to say: “Wrestling is not a love story; it’s a Fairy Tale for masochists. A comedy for people who criticize punchlines. A fantasy most can’t understand, a spectacle no one can deny. Lines are blurred. Heroes are villains. Budgets are cut. Business is business. But it can also be a land where Dead men walk. Where Honor makes you Elite. Where Demons run for office. And Rock bottom is a reason to rejoice. WOOOOO! It’s an escape. A reason to point the blame at anyone but yourself for 2-3 hours. An excuse to be a kid again, and nothing matters except the moment we are in. Wrestling is not a love story; it’s much more. It’s hope. And in a world surrounded in hate, greed, and violence, a wor..

John Laurinaitis Has Been Fired From WWE

•

It had been previously reported that John Laurinaitis had been placed on administrative leave following his involvement with the scandal that led to Vince McMahon retiring from WWE. According to a report from PWInsider, the company has now officially terminated Laurinaitis. According to the report, the decision to fire Laurinaitis was kept very quiet beyond a very small circle, and the termination happened within the last week. WWE has not publicly announced the dismissal as of this notice. McMahon is currently being investigated for an alleged $3 million payment to a WWE employee due to a sexual relationship between the two. The investigation also includes a variety of other possible claims of misconduct against McMahon and Laurinaitis. McMahon is said to have used his own personal money to make the payments. Laurinaitis first joined WWE in 2001 following the demise of WCW. He was promoted to Senior Vice President of Talent Relations in 2007 and resigned in 2012. However, he return..

Update On What Vince McMahon Has/Has Not Been Doing Since WWE Retirement

•

It still doesn’t feel real. Vince McMahon retired from WWE last month, ending nearly forty years of him in control as the company. It seems that retired might be the nice version of what really happened, as McMahon left amid an investigation into sexual misconduct with various employees. As a result, McMahon did not leave on the best of terms, but what has he been doing since? According to PWInsider.com, McMahon has had no official contact with WWE since retiring. McMahon has not been at Titan Towers, including not even going to the building’s gym. McMahon is not legally allowed to run the company in any capacity due to his retirement and could face legal issues if he did something behind the scenes. In addition, John Laurinaitis is officially still part of WWE but is likely to leave as soon as the investigation into him ends. Opinion: I know it has been a few weeks now but this is still hard to actually accept. McMahon did not get to leave on his own terms (at least in theory) but h..

WWE Still Has Huge Plans For Roman Reigns And The WrestleMania 39 Main Event

•

They have a plan for that. This year’s Summerslam is now out of the way and that means the end of the year is not that far away. Once we get to the end of the year, it is time to start getting ready for WrestleMania season, which means the show is going to need a main event. WWE might have something planned for the show and it might be one of the biggest matches in a long time. According to Wrestling Observer Radio, WWE’s current plan is for The Rock to face Roman Reigns at WrestleMania 39. It is not clear if the match would be for the Undisputed WWE Universal Title or not. There is also no guarantee that the match will take place, as Rock may have something bigger come along before the show. There is no word on who would face Reigns if Rock is unavailable. Opinion: This is firmly in the category of I’ll believe it when I see it, as Rock getting back in the ring for a major match is not something that you see happen very often. He hasn’t wrestled a serious match in over ten years and..

NXT LVL Up Results – August 5, 2022

•

NXT LVL Up Date: August 5, 2022 Location: Capitol Wrestling Center, Orlando, Florida Commentators: Sudu Shah, Nigel McGuinness The Road to Clash At The Castle is on and will have absolutely no bearing on this show whatsoever. I’ve again give up on trying to figure out what is going on with this show from one week to another and that means we are probably in for random matches this week. That works to an extent, but it can get a little tiresome after awhile. Let’s get to it. Opening sequence. Dante Chen/Guru Raaj vs. Bryson Montana/Damaris Griffin Raaj and Montana grapple a bit until Raaj hits a dropkick to stagger him. Chen comes in for a chop but Montana is back with a clothesline. Griffin hits a chokebomb into a neck crank as we talk about Rhea Ripley hurting Dominik Mysterio. With that broken up, the double tag brings in Chen and Montana with the former cleaning house. Everything breaks down and Griffin misses a middle rope splash, allowing Chen to hit a double chop for the pin a..

A Former WWE World Champion May Be Getting A Renewed Push Soon

•

Get ready for more of him. NXT is in a strange position as it has to do two things at once. In addition to being the WWE’s third brand, it is also the company’s official developmental program. As a result, NXT is designed to send stars up to the main roster, which has a hit or miss record. Now that there is a new boss in WWE, a former star from his time in NXT might be getting another big chance. According to Fightful Select, WWE is working on plans to bring Kevin Owens back to television. Owens has not wrestled or appeared since Money In The Bank in July and is not injured. There has been fan speculation that he could get a stronger push now that Triple H is in charge of WWE Creative. Triple H was responsible for giving Owens his push in NXT, as well as being paired with him on television when Owens was Universal Champion. Opinion: I would certainly hope that Owens would be given a better chance in WWE. Owens has been up and down lately to say the least, as he was doing very little,..

It Keeps Happening: Another NXT Match Stopped Due To Injury Over The Weekend

•

Please don’t be bad. Wrestling is a dangerous sport and there is only so much that can be done about it. No matter how much training or skill a wrestler may have, there is always the chance that someone could get hurt in the blink of an eye. That could be the case due to all kinds of things and unfortunately that was the case this weekend, as a match had to be called off. According to F4WOnline.com, NXT’s Tatum Paxley was injured during a match over the weekend against Sloane Jacobs. While not confirmed, the injury seemed to take place when Paxley was kicked in the face, sending her head first into the post. The match was stopped with Paley bleeding. Paxley would later post to Twitter, saying that she will be ok and thanking the fans for their concern. There is no word on if Paxley will miss any ring time. Are you OK PAX? Do you have a broken nose? We love you @TatumPaxley https://t.co/yIm6vFTz9P pic.twitter.com/EVj0uDrq6t — Jenna ?bri.carla? (@beta_normie) August 7, 2022 #NXTGaine..

AEW’s All Out Card Might Look A Little Different Than You Were Expecting

•

That might be an issue. There are a lot of very talented wrestlers on the AEW roster and a lot of them have been put together into a variety of matches. Some of those matches have developed into quite the series of rivalries, including some for championships. It seemed that we were coming up on another one in the near future but now that might not be the case anymore. According to the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, the original plan for next month’s AEW All Out would have seen the Young Bucks vs. FTR in a winner take all match for the AEW, IWGP, AAA and Ring Of Honor Tag Team Titles. However, now the plan seems to have changed to the Young Bucks going after the newly formed Trios Titles, possibly with the returning Kenny Omega as their partner. AEW reportedly feels that the Bucks in the Trios Title match has a potential to bring in more money than the Bucks vs. FTR, which still may take place down the line. Opinion: This is one of those things that can be annoying, as FTR vs. the Buc..

Try Again? Recent WWE Return Considered “Chaotic And Directionless”

•

That’s not a good sign. The recent and ongoing changes in WWE have shaken up the company in a lot of ways. Some of these changes have involved wrestlers being changed entirely, with some of them not even appearing on television in recent weeks. That might be the case for a certain SmackDown star, who has not exactly had the best year so far and it might get worse. Earlier this year, Lacey Evans made her return after missing over a year on maternity leave. Evans has been moved from SmackDown to Monday Night Raw and back while only wrestling four matches on television. According to Fightful Select, there are currently no creative plans for Evans, whose scheduled match on July 29 was canceled, with Evans being listed as “not medically cleared”. Evans was reportedly a favorite of Vince McMahon who worked with her personally, though her return was described as “chaotic and directionless”. Opinion: I can’t exactly say I’m stunned by this, as I don’t know if there was ever any major plan fo..

Name Game: WWE Star Teases Return To Previous Ring Name

•

That would be a welcome change. WWE has been shaken up in ways that no one would have thought possible in the last few weeks and those changes are continuing every day. There have been changes both in front of and behind the camera as the new regime takes over and now we get to see the adjustments that are being made. One of them might involve a wrestler going back to a previous identity. WWE SmackDown star Angel has sent out a tweet mentioning his former name of Angel Garza, saying “Angel Garza….back”, suggesting he might be returning to his former ring name. Angel’s last name was dropped last year, as has been the case with several WWE wrestlers over the years. Angel is currently one half of of the Los Lotharios tag team with his cousin Humberto. WWE Might Be Freshening Up One Of Its Underused Wrestlers

•

Update the name tag. A wrestler needs to have the right name to really fit in around the wrestling world. Wrestlers not having a great name can be quite the problem, especially if it is tied to the wrong gimmick. However, there are several ways to fix things later on, especially if someone has not been around in a little while. That might be the case again for a WWE star. According to Mike Johnson during a Q&A on PWInsider.com, T-Bar has been brought up as someone who could be “recast” in WWE. T-Bar, formerly known as Dominik Dijakovic in NXT, has mainly been used in NXT since Retribution broke up. This comes as WWE has been using T-Bar’s name more often on television, but other than battle royal appearances, he has not wrestled on television since the February 28 Monday Night Raw, when he lost to Omos in 40 seconds. Opinion: I could certainly go for more of T-Bar in WWE, or even better, I could go for more of Dijakovic in WWE. While WWE was trying something with the Retribution angl..

Update On Karrion Kross’ WWE Return, Possible Huge Plans For Him

•

He might have a future. There have been all kinds of changes taking place in WWE in recent weeks and some of them have involved wrestlers making surprise returns. That was the case this week as Karrion Kross made his return on SmackDown. Seeing Kross back was surprising enough, but now it seems that he might be in for quite the push in his own right. According to Fightful Select, there have been pitches in WWE creative to immediately put Kross into the WWE Universal Title feud between champion Roman Reigns and Drew McIntyre. One possible plan could see Kross challenging Reigns for one of his titles in a potential split of the championships. This comes as the USA Network has been requesting a title of its own as Reigns rarely appears on the show, with an interim title being pitched. There is no word on if such an idea was seriously considered by WWE. Opinion: I was surprised to see Kross back in WWE but going straight from that to the main event scene might be a bit too much of a jump..

NXT Star Appearing In Upcoming Film To Continue Acting Career

•

It’s something else. Wrestlers have a weird relationship with acting. There have been some success stories over the years, but one of the most common criticisms is that while wrestlers act in the ring, they are only wrestlers when they try acting on screen. That does not stop them from trying though and now another WWE star might have done something to get his foot in the acting door. According to the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, NXT’s Sanga will appear in the upcoming Bollywood film Brahmastra Part One: Shiva. The film, which will be released on September 9, will be Sanga’s first film after he appeared in a television show from 2013-2014. WWE has made no mention of his part in the film. Sanga most recently wrestled on the July 12 edition of NXT where he defeated Duke Hudson. Opinion: The more I see of Sanga, the more I like him, as he has a unique look and is someone who gets your attention no matter what he is doing. His in-ring work is good enough, but apparently someone else se..

WRESTLING RUMORS: WWE Star Possibly Injured At Live Event

Please don’t be bad. Injuries are one of the worst things that you can see happen in wrestling. Not only can they stop a storyline or a match from continuing as planned, but much more importantly they can put someone in a bad spot in the short and long term. Unfortunately that might be the case again as a WWE star might have been injured over the weekend. According to a variety of posts on Twitter, Carmella may have been injured during a WWE live event over the weekend. Carmella was facing Asuka and Raw Women’s Champion Bianca Belair in a title match and seems to have been injured when she ran into the corner.
