WWE reported earlier that ”The Man” Seth Rollins re-injured his right knee during the final segment of this week’s episode of Monday Night RAW. The injury happened during ”The Samoan Submission Machine” Samoa Joe‘s shocking attack on The Architect. It was reported further that Rollins will be evaluated later this week.
Sadly, PWInsider confirmed that the injury is not a ‘kayfabe’ one, and Rollins is currently getting examined in Birmingham, Alabama. Once he’s examined, it’ll be clear how serious the injury is and he’ll be able to come back in time and compete at WrestleMania 33 in Orlando, FL. Rollins is scheduled to be booked in one of the marquee bouts of the night against ”The Game” Triple H.
Rollins did seem to fall rather awkwardly when being taken down to the mat by ”The Destroyer” Joe in his signature submission maneuver ‘The Coquina Clutch’, as seen in the closing moments of this week’s episode of RAW.
Dave Meltzer reported a few hours ago that preliminary word coming out about the injury is that Seth Rollins tore his MCL and is out for 8 weeks. That would mean that Rollins would have to recover early in order to have a match at WrestleMania, and even then that would be pushing it.
Rollins was out of in-ring action for close to 6 months after tearing the ACL, MCL, and medial meniscus in his knee during a match with ”The Big Red Machine” Kane at a house show in November 2015. The reigning WWE World Champion Seth was forced to vacate his title, and missed last year’s WrestleMania 32 in Dallas, TX.
