And so, it ends. There are all kinds of ways to present an angle in wrestling and one of the best is by building up to a moment until the fans are ready to cheer for it. This can take time, but the effort is worth it in the end. WWE presents angles like this from time to time and they did it again this weekend, with the reaction from the crowd being quite the sight to behold.

IN CASE YOU MISSED IT: The New King: Gunther Sets Impressive All Time Record In Royal Rumble Match

The main event of this weekend’s Royal Rumble saw Roman Reigns retain his Undisputed WWE Universal Championship over Kevin Owens. Following the match, the Bloodline attacked Owens, with Reigns telling Sami Zayn to attack Owens. Instead, Zayn turned on Reigns by hitting him with a chair. The rest of the Bloodline attacked Zayn, save for Jey Uso, who walked away from the beating to end the show.

It was a crazy path. Check out how we got here, plus what happened Saturday night:

Opinion: This is going to set up something huge down the line, as Zayn is all but guaranteed to get the next title match against Reigns. The fan reaction alone is the kind of thing that can set up a huge title match. At the same time, it opens up the question of what happens to Cody Rhodes, who is the #1 contender after winning the Royal Rumble. Things are getting very interesting in a hurry as we go down the Road To WrestleMania 39.
