They have a plan for that. With so many wrestlers under the WWE banner, it can be quite the trick to keep track of them all. WWE has put together something of a conveyor belt of stars, with NXT names being promoted to the main roster. The company has it down to something of a science and now we know a lot more about what kind of process they have put together.

Fightful Select has published a new report on how WWE handles NXT callups to the main roster. In recent months, WWE has brought in several NXT stars for appearances on Main Event. This has been done as a way to see what wrestlers look like outside of the Performance Center and does not necessarily mean it is a promotion. Some of the current names being considered for a full time call up are Cameron Grimes and Von Wagner, both of whom have appeared on Main Event. There should also be a more “slow and steady” progression from NXT to the main roster under the new WWE regime.

Opinion: This makes a bit more sense, as an appearance on Main Event should not be enough to guarantee that a wrestler is coming up to the main roster. There is a lot of talent in NXT though and that should be a great sign for WWE going forward. Now that they have a bit of a better system in place, things might be able to be run even more smoothly than they had been before.
