He was requested. There are all kinds of people who come together to make a wrestling show work and some of them do not get the attention they deserve. Over the weekend, WWE presented Survivor Series, which included a SmackDown Women’s Title match that saw Ronda Rousey successfully defending against Shotzi. The match was co-produced by Jason Jordan and the returning Brian Kendrick, the latter of whom is not a full time WWE producer.

According to Wrestling Observer Radio, Rousey requested that Kendrick, one of her original trainers, be brought in for the show. While this was considered a tryout, it was more catering to Rousey’s request. The tryout was seen as controversial as Kendrick was pulled from an AEW appearance earlier this year after a string of conspiracy theory based statements he made in the past resurfaced.

Rousey has done quite well with Kendrick’s training. Check out some of her better moments:

Opinion: It makes sense that Rousey would want Kendrick around for the match and there is a bit of a difference between a one night return and a full time job. I’m curious to see if WWE brings Kendrick back full time as a producer, as he certainly has the skills but he also comes with some baggage. Rousey holds a lot of sway in WWE, but I’m not sure if she has that much sway.

What do you think of Rousey’s request? Will Kendrick be rehired full time? Let us know in the comments below.
